I am Renganayagalu studied 1st to 8th at periakulam firstly madhakarapadithurai school then Victoria memorial board high school.my house is very close to the periakulam jamien enjoyed only out side of the building.Daily when I going to school I saw the jamien heirs traveling in horse chariot to the same high school very cute to see.Really I'm proud of lived in the Period YourHighness Sri Ramabadhra naidukar Zamindar.
Rocky, instead of mudslinging , you must go to their help. Atleast take some workers to the surrounding areas cleaning . A few bags of cement &sand will ensure barest minimal maintenance with manpower services will bring some cheers on the respected madam's face.Not that she's penniless but she is too old to look after the residence.Atleast a few individuals must go to enquire about her health to give confidence she needs . Govt organizations , more appropriately the PWD shall consider some repairs by allocation of a few crores for such works from the budget. We demand free rice but turn our face the other side of other's sufferings. Can you Not think crowd funding?
Very interesting facts about Periyakulam zamin. Very interesting to hear those facts. I think zamindharini madam is not living in pkm presently. Pl publish rare old photos of this zamin palace. Also release some more historical facts of this palace with the help of super seniors still living in pkm. They may be knowing a lot about zamindar's life.

The palace look very ancient, typical of the palatial architectural style which prevailed in Tamil Nadu between the 17th and 19th century,... Maybe earlier who knows ? Please preserve the building. Sadly in Tamil Nadu, people mostly don't have awareness to appreciate ancient native vernacular architecture. Everyone going to Rajasthan or even abroad for admiring other people artistic skills and heritage, but in TN only the rule of ugly and unsustainable (for our climate) buildings.
