Thanks man. I watched this video and the follow up to replace it. I worked all day on Christmas eve and Christmas day in the rain but I got all done and working again. This is the worst engineering idea for a job that should only take a couple hours. Thanks again!

I'm pulling the head on my 2.0 single overhead cam and needed to look at the alternator bracket because it's in the way of the exhaust manifold bolt. Thanks for the video big help hope the car runs well

Just did this, I didn't have to pull the coolant bottle, was able to use a flex head ratchet on the adjuster bot and a prybar on the back of ratchet to hold it in there. I also left the air box in the car just remove the 2 bolts holding the bracket to the head. Took a little over an hour

Thank you! Just had mine go out and I wanted to find an easy approach to fixing it. This was perfect.

I just found out my neon will not run for more than 20 seconds after i take the jumper cables off so it looks like i'm going to be doing this when it warms up, too cold now & no shed !My 2003Dodge Neon has the air filter & supply tube up fount, so that's a plus.Love the gas mileage these lil buggers get.I got 34.5 many times with my old 2000 Plymouth neon & that was loaded with 500 + lbs of fishermen & about that much in gear ! Thanks for the very exceptional video that covers every thing ! Out Standing camera work !

Thanks, have to do this Saturday on my friends car. His locked up and burned the belt off too. Why would you put it on the bottom to get all the road grime on it. Engineers suck anymore.

This process is a little different for my dohc, it was a lot easier to take the bolts out from the bottom with the dohc

Can't get my socket in at the bolts to remove the alternator..no room..grr.. (98 neon)

I have a 98 neon too and although it is really fucking time consuming you can get a socket wrench in there. Took me 7 hours but I got there eventually. Keep trying! :)

    1/2 inch bolt ? Not on a neon.....its all metric. ...its a 13mm

      1/2= 13mm or 13mm = 1/2" lol

Battery terminal nuts are 1/2 inch on the neons, stock ones anyways.

@@valiant1968 13 mm, get it right

@@danhernandez8525 You get it right. It’s a bloody 1/2 inch nut. I’ve been into these cars for over a decade, and undone many battery terminals. 13 mm strips them, 1/2 inch fits perfectly.
