    Dude the way you talk and break this down, you could honestly make this a podcast format as well and people would understand. Iv been just listening to it at work and picking up your information just as effectively. Something to think about with these style videos

    Jonny, I have have been fishing for 30 years and you teach me something every time I watch. I love what you have put together offshore with your electronic videos. Since, I have purchased some new helix units and now am on the offshore hunt. You explain things great to any age that is trying to learn. I would rather watch your videos anytime over my heroes such as KVD, Hackney and Wheeler. Keep it up buddy, you are doing a great nod and I appreciate your dedication to the sport I love so much!!

    Jonny, I can't tell you how much I appreciate your videos. I've been an avid bass fisherman for over 50 years. I have been a 'Bank Beater' for most of my years. You have helped me unlock the 'Offshore Bite'. It has always amazed me how guys utilizing the old depth flasher could find this offshore bite. I have recently upgraded to side scan/down scan electronics. Even with this fantastic technology, I still find there is a learning curve on how to interpret what I'm seeing. Thanks to your videos that curve has flattened out quite a bit. In closing; I especially enjoy seeing you 'put it on' Randy in your competitions. 😀

    I really enjoy your videos.. I grew up catfishing with my dad so I don’t really have anyone to teach me how to catch bass specifically and your videos help me get to know what I need to know. And I really like the technical “nerdy” type videos 😂👍🏼

    Thanks, Jonny. Your videos help me to be smart about why, where, how I attack bass offshore...instead of just a "feel good" spot that typically ends up in skunking in the area I picked.

    One thing I've learned this fall is how my deep water smallmouth relate to humps. I use to find the biggest humps and just fish those, but from following your channel and learning my graphs I've been finding my smallies on tiny humps in 40 feet of water recently. They'll be a rise of 2-3 feet and that's all the hump they need to form a massive school. Love your videos, thanks

    Johnny the number one thing that helps new anglers fishing offshore is underwater cameras. If you drop the camera down and see Fish their confidence level will soar and they will know the area they found is the correct type of structure they need to look for. I fish Lake Ontario 50+ days a year and nothing confirms those big smallmouth are in the area then dropping that camera down.

    My biggest issue is I’m learning to fish offshore rn and I don’t have a unit at the front of the boat only the console I have the FS 9 Elite and I can locate structure ect I use buoy markers to kinda show me where they are so I don’t lose sight but putting my bait on the target has been difficult any tips thanks ! One of my favorite channels!

    Have you seen Milliken fishing using big glide baits fishing for those offshore fish? He’s catching 7+ pounders on the regular using the live scope (although he is fishing lakes in Texas). Pretty wild.

    • @FishtheMoment
      @FishtheMoment  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it’s pretty crazy. They work on my lakes as well, but they’re super inconsistent. They are more consistent in Texas. I may only get 1-2 bites all day if I throw them here. I’m always focused on putting 5 keepers in the boat every day and it’s hard to do that here with those baits.

      Here’s a video I did on a local power plant lake last year. I caught them using Livescope the exact same way he’s been doing it down in Texas. If may help you replicate it on your lakes:

    Johnny, if I’m fishing a lake where fish set up on outside grass edges in 12-15 ft of water most of the year, what are my best bait options? I believe jigs, neds, shakey heads all tend to get lost in the grass. I have a lot of luck with the drop shot but not much else… any suggestions for me?

  • @chadjackson4786
    @chadjackson4786 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    question: If you have multiple people in the boat, say 3 people, and you go fish offshore; Should you all be casting the same baits to the same spot at the same time, or are that many baits in the water just spooking the fish? Do you have increased or decreased odds when multiple people are fishing the same spot. Like if you can catch 2-3 fish solo, do you catch a couple each in a group = 6, or do you catch 1 each or even 0 each. Curious on your thoughts.

    Do you ever throw out buoys to mark offshore spots? I need something to aim at and help me keep my boat in the right position. I think buoys would really help but I don't see anyone using them.
