    • @FishtheMoment
      @FishtheMoment  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I also try to look for hard bottoms when possible. They attract more baitfish, usually leading to more bass. If you don't have any hard bottom areas, look for stumps or laydowns on top of softer bottom.

    Love this video because it shows how to find fish off the graph. My decision now is if I get a chance to upgrade my graphs before next Spring do I just go Garmin for their live or stick with my favorite HB units? Currently having a Lowrance G3 touch at the console and a HB G3 9" up front that not got SI. My hope was to get two HB G4 with everything and their live up on the bow but so far not all that impressed with the lives other than the Garmin 🤷🏻‍♂️.

    These types of videos where you combine detailed sonar instructions with actual demonstrations on the water of how to do are easily the best of any fishing channel out there! Garmin 9sv please. I have done my best and I've noticed u really have to keep manipulating the settings based on water clarity and the depth I'm targeting. I'm in Central Florida and I've got my unit where I can see individual strands of hydrilla so I'm guessing I have it right. Scroll speed seems to be a critical setting I needed to understand. If I'm just creeping along or drifting I go slow scroll and see much more including my bait and line show up on 2D

    I don’t even use sidescan much anymore I tell u why. Th bigger bass will sometime travel alone so therefore would u notice on sidescan maybe maybe not. U run on average 3-4 mph correct using sidescan. With the garmin force u can do 3-4 mph while scanning just using livescope plus my other unit on the front is hooked up to sidescan on the rear. So if u ask me what makes more sense? Plus using the garmin force it’s quieter etc. can’t tell u how many 7 plus pounders I’ve caught doing this and I wouldn’t have seen em if I was idling with the big Moter

    I purchased the Humminbird Helix 3 settings. It relies heavily on what default settings are. Some of these default settings have changed with the newest software update. It leaves you wondering which default settings are correct. It gives you step by step instructions on how to change these settings instead of actual settings throughout the unit. I hate to be so negative but this was billed as settings not a how to operate your fishfinder settings document. It's around 50 pages but very short on actual settings. I was very dissatisfied with my purchase for $89.99..

    • @FishtheMoment
      @FishtheMoment  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey David. Sorry it was not what you expected. I designed the guides for those who struggle with technology and need help navigating the screens. There are only so many settings you can adjust on each fish finder, so I couldn’t make it more complex if I wanted to. The settings in the guide are the exact settings I use and they help me find and catch a ton of fish offshore.
      I understand it may seem straightforward to you, but for many guys who aren’t used to technology, navigating and setting up a fish finder is very complicated.
      I do provide setting ranges and different options for every view. Again, I can only change the settings that are available in the unit. There is no way for me to make it more complex or detailed than I have.
      Finally, 75% of the time a fish finder looks bad is due to an improper install. This guide allows anglers to know they have the correct settings. Then, if the image still looks bad, they know it’s an install issue, not a settings issue.

    • @JustMe3104
      @JustMe3104 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FishtheMoment, my fishfinder is fine. This is an issue with software updates that change default settings. Example: Under the Sonar Tab the default Zoom Width is set to wide in the update instead of narrow. There are actually multiple tutorials on TH-cam for operating your fishfinder and again this said it was a list of the settings you use. Even in this video, the way you described it is not what I feel I got. Is this mega settings? The 2D was helpful because I had been using Max mode and lewering sensitivity. Anyway, to each his own. I'll just move on...

      I tried these settings.. 2D settings blow out your fish marks. So this was an absolute waste of my money no matter how much time you put into it. I, like many others, am always looking for ways to improve my hookup ratio. If this was a tutorial for dummies it should have been described that way. Instead, it's almost 50 pages long with 14 actual settings. Congratulations! You managed to make a buck off worthless information. I've been watching your channel as well as making purchases of your jigs and using your link to Tackle Warehouse for a couple years. In the past some of your information has been helpful. Now is all about making a buck whether the information is useful or worthless jiberish. Good luck with that!

    I like that someone else other than me is practical with purchasing reels.
    I've dropped enough money on, my boat, electronics, and tackle. As long as my rod is good the reel will be fine.
