This is a most special performance/song that opened the show. It's the first time Fami played live in front of a crowd, and the first time playing in concert with Lovebites. And it's the first song played live since Miho left the band. Asami's "we are back". Asami looking at Fami and pointing during her bass solo. I was privileged to be 10 feet in front of Asami in this video, watching Fami perform her first song in front of a meaningful crowd at the age of 20. The moment that she steps up to solo with her uncontrollable smile, Asami catches her eye and can’t help but smile and give her a thumbs up in a “you’re nailing it” kinda way, is a piece of LOVEBITES folklore. First live song in almost two years and it was so perfect that they played “the awakening” prelude live for the first time ever, but because I was waiting for Asami to appear I didn’t notice….it took the live release for me to realise!
Ah. Lovebites idea of "easing into things" with that intro. XD I also love how Fami takes a moment towards the front half of the song, just to go "I'mma just say this real quick". Rest of the song? You could probably produce power enough for a small town if you hooked up the band.

My group visited one and picked up beer and snacks after seeing Babymetal at Yokohama Arena.
Not too bad for a band coming off a long hiatus searching for the new bassist, Fami. No one plays thrash better LIVE than this band. Here we get a view of how the new bassist, Fami will be getting more shine time than Miho but the band will continue to destroy any stage they step onto. Midori as always looks the total "bada$$" she is (she is my 1st choice in any fight....LOL). Losing a cap, AirKhul is lucky his/her head wasn't still in the cap at the time.

Love watching this video, I'm glad you guys enjoyed too. This song was on their first album, Starts with Miyako's elegantly composed instrumental, followed by The Hammer of Wrath, The album feels like it starts in the Garden of Eden with the Awakening track, then all the madness in the world creeps in, then we get the hammer of wrath. Cool way to start an album. During the band's bassist auditions. Fami played 3 songs with the band, This song, Golden Destination and Shadowmaker. She completely nailed it and sang the whole "Bring down justice to the wicked" part while wearing a mask, before joining the band, she was reluctant to show the world her face. I was really impressed how Fami handled this "Audition" and since she has been in the band she has not let anyone down. I say this while I also want to acknowledge what Miho did with this band and her direction, style was well appreciated by the fans. Fami did well with the song "Golden Destination" you can tell how the members of the band were looking at her, looking at each other almost like they were thinking, "Wow is she for real?" They seemed very excited after seeing her play Golden Destination. One of my favorite moments.

You should also check out the version off the Live From Abyss Studio Session with Miho. You can see the subtle differences in how Miho and Fami play the 1st and 3rd bass solos. In this video, Fami plays it with octaves while Miho plays each note separately (arpeggios?). Also pay attention to Miyako's backing rhythm just as the band goes into halftime and Midori starts the solo with the Arabian sounding notes. It's got this real metal funk feel with pinch harmonics. Since then, 'The Hammer of Wrath' has been performed at most of the band's concerts. This is one of the most frequently performed songs (concerts, international rock festivals). Very often it opens the concert or is played Encore. 'The Hammer of Wrath' can be called the calling card of LOVEBITES. In the video you reacted to, this is the first song of the concert, which took place in March 2023. Personally, I like the 2020 version better, when Miyako's musical composition 'The Awakening' sounds, turning into 'The Hammer of Wrath'.

This was awesome and Fami brought her brilliant style to the piece, but when you've finished reacting to their entire discography (because there is not a single dud!) you must go back and check Miho-era Hammer of Wrath. Her live tone for those bass fills is to die for, and she plays in a different position to Fami, getting more of a Harris-like bass chug. Pure ear candy! Jimmy and Gringa: how do you handle the fact, that LOVEBITES' performances are pushing you to a higher level of excitement . . . and after it . . . coming "down" and reacting to other bands and groups, which definitively don't have such great skills and talent. How do you judge them appropriately ? What's the secret of your balancing?
The key thing is not to expect to listen to something that is up to par with Lovebites. In other words listen to the bands for what they are and try to find something in the music that is appealing and enjoyable rather than try to compare it to something of this level which most bands out there won't even come close to doing. If we were to go into a reaction expecting something of this magnitude then instantly we would probably be disappointed . We go into the reaction knowing that it's not going to be something up to this level but at the same time doesn't mean that we can't find something to enjoy about every single song we listen to. We will admit that some songs are harder to find things like this than others where Lovebites makes it instantly easy to jump Right In. I'm sure you can tell in our reactions the songs that do this to us and the ones that we are just trying to listen to and appreciate for what they are. The best part about it is sometimes you don't expect things from certain bands and then they deliver something awesome that you can love and appreciate and even listen to regularly... Others not so much but the fact that they are creating music and putting it out there is enough for us to appreciate. With new bands it is hit or miss because we have no idea what we are in for... some of them can really surprise you with things they do and others are just doing things that have been done before many times and not doing it as well. There are also many bands that may not be as technical as Lovebites but have amazing songwriting and Melody creating ability... That in itself is something to really appreciate and admire. To summarize we go in knowing that we are not going to compare them to anyone else but rather listen to what they are offering and see if there is anything in there that we can enjoy. 😃

I was privileged to be 10 feet in front of Asami in this video, watching Fami perform her first song in front of a meaningful crowd at the age of 20. The moment that she steps up to solo with her uncontrollable smile, Asami catches her eye and can’t help but smile and give her a thumbs up in a “you’re nailing it” kinda way, is a piece of LOVEBITES folklore. First live song in almost two years and it was so perfect that they played “the awakening” prelude live for the first time ever, but because I was waiting for Asami to appear I didn’t notice….it took the live release for me to realise!

Not too bad for a band coming off a long hiatus searching for the new bassist, Fami. No one plays thrash better LIVE than this band. Here we get a view of how the new bassist, Fami will be getting more shine time than Miho but the band will continue to destroy any stage they step onto. Midori as always looks the total "bada$$" she is (she is my 1st choice in any fight....LOL). Losing a cap, AirKhul is lucky his/her head wasn't still in the cap at the time.

Love watching this video, I'm glad you guys enjoyed too. This song was on their first album, Starts with Miyako's elegantly composed instrumental, followed by The Hammer of Wrath, The album feels like it starts in the Garden of Eden with the Awakening track, then all the madness in the world creeps in, then we get the hammer of wrath. Cool way to start an album.
During the band's bassist auditions. Fami played 3 songs with the band, This song, Golden Destination and Shadowmaker. She completely nailed it and sang the whole "Bring down justice to the wicked" part while wearing a mask, before joining the band, she was reluctant to show the world her face.
I was really impressed how Fami handled this "Audition" and since she has been in the band she has not let anyone down.
I say this while I also want to acknowledge what Miho did with this band and her direction, style was well appreciated by the fans.
Fami did well with the song "Golden Destination" you can tell how the members of the band were looking at her, looking at each other almost like they were thinking, "Wow is she for real?" They seemed very excited after seeing her play Golden Destination. One of my favorite moments.

You should also check out the version off the Live From Abyss Studio Session with Miho. You can see the subtle differences in how Miho and Fami play the 1st and 3rd bass solos. In this video, Fami plays it with octaves while Miho plays each note separately (arpeggios?). Also pay attention to Miyako's backing rhythm just as the band goes into halftime and Midori starts the solo with the Arabian sounding notes. It's got this real metal funk feel with pinch harmonics. Since then, 'The Hammer of Wrath' has been performed at most of the band's concerts. This is one of the most frequently performed songs (concerts, international rock festivals). Very often it opens the concert or is played Encore. 'The Hammer of Wrath' can be called the calling card of LOVEBITES. In the video you reacted to, this is the first song of the concert, which took place in March 2023.
Personally, I like the 2020 version better, when Miyako's musical composition 'The Awakening' sounds, turning into 'The Hammer of Wrath'.

This is a Metal Masterpiece, thanks to Miho, as often happens in these cases. I love 'Set the world on fire' too, like you my friend....but in this case the structure of the song is so well written and unpredictable until the last second....this is not usual in this type of songs, you know it.

Love your reactions to Lovebites! This was awesome and Fami brought her brilliant style to the piece, but when you've finished reacting to their entire discography (because there is not a single dud!) you must go back and check Miho-era Hammer of Wrath. Her live tone for those bass fills is to die for, and she plays in a different position to Fami, getting more of a Harris-like bass chug. Pure ear candy! Jimmy and Gringa: how do you handle the fact, that LOVEBITES' performances are pushing you to a higher level of excitement . . . and after it . . . coming "down" and reacting to other bands and groups, which definitively don't have such great skills and talent. How do you judge them appropriately ? What's the secret of your balancing?
The key thing is not to expect to listen to something that is up to par with Lovebites. In other words listen to the bands for what they are and try to find something in the music that is appealing and enjoyable rather than try to compare it to something of this level which most bands out there won't even come close to doing. If we were to go into a reaction expecting something of this magnitude then instantly we would probably be disappointed . We go into the reaction knowing that it's not going to be something up to this level but at the same time doesn't mean that we can't find something to enjoy about every single song we listen to. We will admit that some songs are harder to find things like this than others where Lovebites makes it instantly easy to jump Right In. I'm sure you can tell in our reactions the songs that do this to us and the ones that we are just trying to listen to and appreciate for what they are. The best part about it is sometimes you don't expect things from certain bands and then they deliver something awesome that you can love and appreciate and even listen to regularly... Others not so much but the fact that they are creating music and putting it out there is enough for us to appreciate. With new bands it is hit or miss because we have no idea what we are in for... some of them can really surprise you with things they do and others are just doing things that have been done before many times and not doing it as well. There are also many bands that may not be as technical as Lovebites but have amazing songwriting and Melody creating ability... That in itself is something to really appreciate and admire. To summarize we go in knowing that we are not going to compare them to anyone else but rather listen to what they are offering and see if there is anything in there that we can enjoy. 😃
