In 2020-2022, LoveBites were physically unable to perform at festivals due to Covid-19, the departure of the bassist, pregnancy & birth of children of Miyako and Asami. Small children need their mother to be nearby (breastfeeding, etc.). Therefore, in 2023, LoveBites could not travel outside of Japan. By 2024, Miyako and Asami's children grew up and LoveBites began to travel abroad again, including participating in 6 festivals in Europe, Korea and the US.
@mamoru1412 I understand that, but if you see the social media from other bands, they are right now announcing dates in the summer festivals around the world, I think maybe the management are a little slow work with that, 'cause all the bands since November have pretty closed their dates of 2025 about summer festivals and world tours
@@Felipearandab LoveBites have already announced their concerts in January-March 2025. Including their participation in the Festival, which will take place in March 2025 in Mexico. I assume that we will start to learn about LoveBites' plans to perform in other countries, including at festivals, in the next few months. Or during the upcoming LoveBites tour in Japan, which will take place in January - March 2025 or after its completion.
We were standing in the crowd at the time - we had never heard of Lovebites - and, in our amazement, we forgot to clap and celebrate this unbelievably fantastic band. I will probably never forget this Wacken performance by these top-level musicians. After Wacken, I bought all of Lovebites' EPs and long plays, all that I could get my hands on - some of them directly from Japan! I have never regretted it and I still celebrate the five women (and of course Miho too, her bass playing remains a fantastic memory of my first steps towards the Wolf Pack)!
If you ever have a chance to watch the video of the full set, do it. The crowd had no idea who they were, but song by song, Lovebites won them over. You can see the crowd getting more and more packed, and by the end of the set Lovebites have them eating out of their hands.
Above the Black Sea, One of my favorite Lovebites songs. This performance is awesome, the whole crowd really got into it. The song is based on Rachmaninoff's piano concerto #2 according to Miyako. I loved the 4 Guitar solos that just melt your mind, sprinkled through the entire song.
In 2019, ahead of the joint UK tour, DragonForce wrote about LoveBites: "In June 2018 they won the Best New Band award at the Golden Gods Awards held by the UK music magazine Metal Hammer, being the very first Japanese band to pull this off. Lovebites released their second mini album Battle Against Damnation that same month, taking it on the road with them to the world’s biggest metal festival Wacken Open Air in Germany, where they drove a crowd of over 10,000 people into frenzy before appearing on the main stage at the UK’s Bloodstock Open Air headlined by Judas Priest."
Lovebites was basically unkown in Europe before Wacken 2018! As legend has it, they did not expect many to show up for their 11.30am timeslot (1st on that stage, that day) and would have been happy with a couple of rows filled. When Asami peaked through the curtains her heart must have skipped a beat when she saw the tent was filled to capacity (about 10k). At Wacken 2018 they played 5 songs, but it was their European coming out party. 🤘 Unfortunately I only discovered them after they had supported Dragonforce in the UK in 2019 and had to wait untill this year to experience them live at a small club in Lindau, Germany. But that gig alone was worth the 5 year wait. ❤
A lot of people complain they played small venues instead of big ones. But the small clubs are where it's at. Saw Nemophila at a 500 person club last week. The energy and crowd involvement was off the charts. Mayu stage diving and crowd surfing.
@@ericifune5543 As a life-long Iron Maiden fan, I can only agree: For the fanbase, the behaviour of a band also in _small_ venues is fundamental. In the 1980 und 1990s, Iron Maiden also had small gigs to fill, to a motivational visit in Sarajevo (YUG) during the war that raged then. (They were protected by a British military unit.) No tens of thousands of people as a standard. They had to prove their authenticity and their gratitude at every _small_ gig they got - to the point of playing in a rastaurant "somehere near Wagga-Wagga" in Australia (to keep the money up). Such small venues are where the life-long fanbase is forged.
@@ericifune5543 I am certainly not complaining, because honestly enjoy both type of venues. Small: 1st row in Lindau less than an arms length away from Midori since there was no rail. Big: 5th floor at Tokyo Garden and the production (e.g. Frozen Serenade) was unreal. Both: Meeting many awesome people before and after the shows and of course Lovebites' musicianship are experiences I will never forget!
Bassist Miho had long dreamed of performing at Wacken Open Air in Germany. No Japanese female band had ever performed at that world's largest metal festival, and fulfilling that dream was quite challenging for her. In a way, LOVEBITES was formed to challenge her dream. And she probably did not expect that her dream, which she thought would be so difficult to achieve, would come true so easily within two years of the band's formation. Unfortunately for her, however, her father, who supported her, passed away suddenly a week after she participated in the festival, leaving her no time to find new goals.
Lovebites rule that stage supreme. 2018: For many Metal devotees Wacken was the first time they came across this stellar band; it was so to say *The Awakening* ... and the beginning of a beautiful journey. May it last forever.

As a German, I was able to experience the heyday of heavy metal in Europe. Lovebites stands for everything that was good back then. Yes, Wacken is cult, very international. Lovebites was "only" on a side stage in the tent, there are always good sound engineers there, not bad for the first time, but no comparison to the main stage at prime time. Lovebites will definitely be a headliner at Wacken (preferably together with Band Maid, Nemophila, Hanabie, The Warning......preferably a whole day together with Helloween, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Metallica as support for the new generation with a few collabs) there's no getting around it. Sounds crazy!!! It will happen at some point, the whole story is crying out for it, the torch has to be officially passed on at some point 😍🫡😎😀
Thanks for your reaction. In 2016-2018, Miyako's place on stage was on the left, Midori's place on stage was on the right. Accordingly, Miyako's guitar is heard in the left headphone, and Midori's guitar in the right. In 2019, the ladies swapped places on stage with each other. Miyako took the place on stage on the right. Midori took the place on stage on the left. During the forced break associated with the Covid-19 pandemic, Miho's departure and the birth of babies to Miyako (2021) and Asami (2022), Miyako took guitar lessons from Midori. Midori graduated from the International Institute of Musicians (ESP), where she studied guitar. On June 6, 2018, the second EP of LOVEBITES was released, which is called 'Battle Against Damnation'. Song 'Above the Black Sea' (lyrics - Asami / music - Miyako) from the 'Battle Against Damnation' EP. That's why Asami is talking about the 'Battle Against Damnation' from the Wacken Open Air stage. I saw that you have a LOVEBITES T-shirt with the cover of this EP. 👍😊 On June 11, 2018, LOVEBITES won the prestigious Metal Hammer GOLDEN GODS Award (London, UK). As the winners in the 'Best New Band' category, LOVEBITES received an invitation to perform at Wacken Open Air -2018(Germany). On August 4, 2018, LOVEBITES performed at Wacken Open Air. Wacken Open Air is the world's largest heavy music festival, held annually in Germany. This is a very important and popular festival for heavy music lovers, which attracts popular bands and audiences from all over the world. Wacken Open Air - 2018 was named the 'Best Major Festival' at the European Festival Awards 2018. 197 bands took part in Wacken Open Air - 2018 (including: JUDAS PRIEST, HELLOWEEN, ARCH ENEMY, GHOST, DORO, NAZARETH, CHILDREN OF BODOM, VINCE NEIL, EPICA, DOKKEN, SEPULTURA, WINTERSUN, NIGHTWISH, DIRKSCHNEIDER, etc.). Wacken Open Air lasts 3 - 4 days, 7 - 8 stages for bands to perform, each year the festival is visited by 80,000 - 85,000 spectators, tickets start to be sold about a year before the festival starts and sell out quickly. For example, the sale of tickets for Wacken Open Air -2023 began on August 7, 2022 and all the tickets were sold out 5 hours before (one year before the start of the festival)! During the entire existence of this heavy music festival (it has existed since 1990), LOVEBITES became in 2018 the first all-female band from Japan to perform on its stage. In a review dedicated to Wacken, it was written that LOVEBITES' performance was enthusiastically greeted by a crowd of 10,000 heavy music fans. Set-list (Wacken Open Air -2018): 1. 'The Awakening' 2. 'The Hammer of Wrath' 3. 'The Crusade' 4. 'Don't Bite the Dust' 5. 'Above the Black Sea' 6. 'Shadowmaker' LOVEBITES performance at Wacken Open Air-2018 was recorded and released in 2020 on DVD 'Crusaders Standing at Wacken - Live in Germany 2018' ( Limited Edition 'A' of 'Electric Pentagram' Album).
The ladies made an extremely good impression at Wacken, with many fans feeding back that they were the best band on that day. They also made history by being the first all-female metal band from Japan to perform at Wacken Open Air. Out of the 3 songs related to World War II, "Above the Black Sea" is my fav. BTW, it was nice chatting with you guys at Asami's X'mas Special !
Hey Bo! It was awesome chatting with you as well ! What a great show she put on! I didn't even need to use the amp on the Gringa she stayed awake on her own lol ... Much ♥️
@@TJandTheGringa It was a really awesome performance from Asami and her ensemble. It'll be pretty hard for anyone to fall asleep with that one, even for the Gringa ! 😆
This was a great song. They had one where they played in their concert in 2019 called Daughters of the Dawn. Above the Black Sea is a 2 parter series song that follows up with Under the Red Sky. If you thought Above the Black Sea was amazing you’ll definitely love Under the Red Sky even more.
Probably my favorite song from Lovebites. This and MDO hooked me hard when I first hear them. Wolfpack! Midori with the liquid smooth sweeps even when her sound isnt up too their usual standard. Everyone in that Wacken Audience had No Clue who they were but knew exactly who they were when the band was done. Thats a hard core metalfest and the hands in the air dont lie.
@@TJandTheGringa MDO is a Fast paced Banger. Their early albums contain some very eye watering hooks, shred and everything in between. It's rare a band goes 4-5-6 albums and has zero meh or filler material but Lovebites once again re writes that narrative.
2:53 *Miho* super-stressed, but also keeping it together super-professionally. It was the dream of her life to be on the Wacken Open Air (WOA) live stage one day with her own Metal band, and that dream had just become true. Amazing. I assume she felt like jumping all across the stage, out of relief and joy. 😁 4:03
2 Facts about Lovebites- 1. Your mind won’t believe what your eyes are seeing! 2. They didn’t invent Heavy Metal, they just perfected it!!! Heavy Metal Never Dies ! 🤘🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺😎

5:18 LOVEBITES and sound engineers: A match made in heaven. I have no answer to that, it is one of the mysteries of this life. 🤷♂ LOVEBITES' sound is hardy ever messed up on live events. Most of the times, LOVEBITES just sound _criminally_ amazing live. I usually get _eargasms_ , can't help it. 😂 That is, of course, outrageous and unfair towards many other bands. 😁
@TJandTheGringa there is an interesting backstory to this performance that you as a musician will understand. They were originally scheduled a couple hours later in the day, but they were rescheduled to start earlier with only 30 minutes notice. They had no time to do a sound check or set up their support systems. Just enough time to take a leak, get dressed, boom, you're on, go. If you look closely, this is the only time you will see them NOT wearing IEM's. They are playing with no click, no count-ins, no isolation, no backing tracks, just 5 ladies jamming on stage old school. 🤘🤘
Wow!! That's crazy with no in-ear monitoring and to perform on a whim and completely demolish the way they did just lets you know the caliber of musicianship that we are dealing with. Simply unmatched! I can only hope they take over the world! 🤘🤘
@@TJandTheGringa yeah by the time this song came on their roadie managed to get some of the orchestral stab tracks going but I'm not sure how Haruna managed to sync to those without a click, maybe their roadie was triggering it manually? In any case an impressive concert by my favorite metal band.
Happy Lovebites Wednesday, thanks Team Tequila! Fun fact - find a live concert recording of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No 2. Listen to the opening minute or so, played on piano, then play Miyako's second guitar solo from Above the Black Sea. It's her tribute to the composer, translating the piano theme to guitar, and integrating it seamlessly with the song - sheer genius.
Gosh, I'm pumped! One of my (maybe unlikely) Top 3 songs by this incredible band. There are just too many, but the combination of kamikaze drama and Rachmaninoff somehow moves me that extra much. And the final peroration of the song is just poignant and heartbreaking at the same time. I do not know how, especially being a Japanese, one can keep dry eyes to the end. Now, let's listen. :)
Hi guys, if you feel like getting into some more of those Wacken vibes, I recommend Helloween's "I want out" from the same festival - Wacken Open Air 2018. It was the closing song of the festival with awesome crowd participation. Have fun!
I really love to watch this live@Wacken. This song were super pumping. The guitar chunky riffs and pounding bass in the background while Miyako soloing really punch my heart. Haruna hit higher to produce more power of sound in this live but still in relax mode. Same as Asami, high tone seems nothing to her. Both are crazy good. Superb reactions guys 👍🤘.
Very underrated song from Lovebites, Battle Against Damnation is an awesome EP!! 🤘🔥 This is around the same time Lovebites won the Metal Hammer award for Best New Band at the Golden Gods Awards, pretty much the Oscars of Metal music! Miyako and Miho traveled from Japan to accept the award, there's video of it around here on YT! 🤘
another great wednesday reaction guys, lets keep this new tradition going and maybe someone else can do lovebites thursday and fridays and so on, so we have a whole week of incredible music every day, i'd visit them all, can't skip a day without my shot of dayly lovebites, they are soooo awesome. See you next time keep your horns and head up 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Yes, their presentation at Wacken Open Air, Germany, 2018, was a total success for Lovebites and a dream come true for Miho. I have this DVD (Crusaders standing at Wacken, 30 minutes long) that was included in the special edition of the CD album “Electric pentagram”.
Another great song and to think this was in 2018 only two years after their formation!!!!! My favorite from their Wacken show will always be (Shadowmaker)!!!!! That shot of Miyako when she gives that back-side look gets me every time!!!!! Thank you for what you do!!!!!!
One thing is for certain. Next Lovebites performance at Wacken will bevon the main stage. Fabulous performance. Lovebites taking over the world one shredding solo, drum fill, emotive vocal, bass pound at a time. The ending riff is awesome
I really like these old school Lovebites songs, if you want to call them that. You can see a lot of little differences like the guitarists swapping stage sides, different cabs, Haruna's black gloves. But a lot of similarities like they're all playing the same guitars. Even Miho in her new band, Chaos Control, is playing the same bass. Thanks guys!
Aside from the awesome music I have to say that Midori looks so good here. I know a lot of people dig her more recent, blond Amazon braids but I have to confess an affection for her old style with that great lustrous mane of dark hair.
LOVEBITES WEDNESDAY!!!!! great reaction to this first song of the war trilogy, with one of the best concerts of the early era from them, they have a different energy, more thrashy, backing vocals, awesomeness in every second ❤🎉
This is one of my favorite performances because it is so early in their career to be this good and be able to play at that venue, they look and sound amazing. 🤘🐺🤘
I wish I had known them back then, as the Wacken Festival is only a few hours away from me. But I'm glad to see that the place was full and not just a few rows. It's long overdue that the wolves make their return to Wacken and then please a bit later in the day, on one of the bigger stages and for at least an hour or more. Let the ladies really work their magic and they will blow the audience away! 🤘🏻 _____________________ _"America invented rock. England improved it. I sooooo hope they starts playing this masterpiece live again, on my top5-Bites list. It,s so heavy, the closest one i heard Lb to my Gods, Meshuggah. And with that temposhift in the middle it,s such a crowd-banger. And Midori, yes she is a monster-guitarist, i always gonna be a Miyakowolf because i think she is the greatest genoius right now in the music industri but Midori is a beast. Sometimes i feel like she doesn,t get the recognition she deserve because everybody get,s so overwhelm by Miyako. And on this time (2018) she was the fast one. Nowadays i would say they are egual
Song is about the kamikaze of the second World War. Not exactly a trilogy song since the other two songs, Apocalypse and Under the Red Sky, are about the atomic bombing of Japan.
@@metalmark1214 'The Apocalypse', 'Above the Black Sea', 'Under the Red Sky' are all united by the theme of War. In an interview (June 2018), the ladies said that there is a connection between these three songs. Interview excerpt (translated from Japanese): - "As for the lyrics, it seems like the two songs 'Above the Black Sea' and 'Under the Red Sky' are related in content. - Asami: That’s right. The two songs are written by two songwriters who expand on Rachmaninoff from their own perspective. I write lyrics in the same way. The image is a war story, but Miho and I often write lyrics, and once we start writing them, we end up with lyrics about fighting (laughs). And this time, I asked Miho, “What do the lyrics sound like?” and he said, “They’re basically fights.” I think it’s the same for me. Things like that eventually led to the title of this mini-album, 'Battle Against Damnation'. When I first heard this song, I couldn’t help but think: “Come on, let’s fight.” The lyrics of 'Above the Black Sea' are about a kamikaze squad. 'Under the Red Sky' was written by Miho as a continuation of the previous song 'The Apocalypse', as Miho wrote the lyrics about the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. - Asami: 'Under the Red Sky' has a melodic feel. When I was composing the songs, I thought that the epic feeling at the end would be appropriate for the ending. Also, various elements from the previous songs are present throughout. - Midori: That's right. - Asami: It's similar to 'The Apocalypse' (a song from the debut mini-album 'The Lovebites EP', released in May 2017). When I wrote the lyrics, I imagined it as a continuation of 'The Apocalypse'."
Nice reaction. My favourite from this trio and another reason to buy the "Battle Against Damnation" ep. Can someone believe that this was only their 13th time playing live and after they went to Bloodstock and played the same set there, just mindblowing. The Only festival worth mentioning that they haven-t done in Europe is the other nordic metal festivals like Sweden Rock and so on.
Some more disparate thoughts: I am probably imagining things, but the riff of this one reminds me of the low hum of a plane's propeller, heading into the nevermore. 14:54 In line with the battle theme, what you say must mean they tend to use Midori to deliver the lethal blow, and Miyako to administer the "coup de grace", the kiss of death. :))) I am not arguing!
Lol... What I actually meant is usually.. as in this song you can hear Midori comes in speeding right off the bat. They do take turns as far as who plays first and who finishes people off lol.. Miyako tends to come in more with sweep techniques or melodic playing and then rips right in the middle of them from what I've noticed. I'm sure there are many songs where she just comes in ripping as well we just haven't gotten to them. From the music I've heard when speed is needed right away it's usually Midori. This song is a perfect example of it listen to how she comes in on that last solo... it's just speed Demon right off the bat. I love them both equally. Miyako is a musical genius. .. both are amazing players. Thanks for watching!
@@TJandTheGringa People are finished in tandem by M&M usually before they comprehend what they got into. :) Yes they are both indispensable and complement each other, which delivers a characteristic sound of rare beauty! Your savvy with and around guitar technique is much appreciated by this layman. :))
A Noon start time on a small side stage and who are these runway models from Japan? My friend was there (yeah jealous doesn't even begin to note how I feel) and noted once they started the place packed out and the crowd was blown away. Haruna was the star of this performance judging by the crowd reactions. Won't be at Wacken 2025 but hopefully their next appearance is on the Main Stage and a full recording (Wacken engineering is superior) can lead to a new LP. Still funny to see Midori on the Miyako side and in dark hair. Miho reached her goal and looked a little nervous at the start...LOL
My favorite Lovebites song still until today and yes, such an epic sound. Unfortunately not about grabbing your sword and shield and ride into battle, but about japanese Kamikaze pilots in WWII, starting into the sky and knowing to never come back again 😢
EPIC! With added epicness and sprinkles of epic on top! Totally agree with what you say about this band being the best Metal on Earth and for anyone who knows otherwise to prove us wrong - because that would be a band to see! I've set the same challenge for years in the world of Rock with Band-Maid and have yet to see any real contenders. Both bands are making the best Metal and Hard Rock of the 21st century and, while I enjoyed decades of the 20th century seeing lots of Metal bands (Sabbath 76 was my first, Slipknot 99 my last) and Rock legends (Queen in 76, Zappa in 78 and Zeppelin in 79 were memorable, as was Floyd in 89), it was all a long time ago, magnificent as they all were. Now, a quarter of the way through the 21st century, it is Japan, and its ridiculously talented female musicians in particular, who are keeping the Metal and Rock torches burning as brightly and as fearsomely as they have ever been. 🤘🤘 Viva Lovebites Wednesday!! Hi Guys! Another great reaction of a woderful LOVEBITES song, and of course "happy LOVEBITES Wednesday" 🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺 I watched this the other day after a bit of a while and thought The Gringa gonna love this one :) Old style Lovebites with M&M the other way round, and "pretty" Midori who really features with her crazy face melting shredding. I truly believe their increasing success is entirely due to the level of badassness of Modori's appearance (please note thie statement is almost entirely untrue!!). What a great performance too, world class from everyone. Love the contrast with Miho and later Fami. Both wonderful talents but with very different presentations. Love them both to bits. Props to Waken too, great sound. Sadly not always the case with all festivals (I won't mention Bloodstock, haha) Thanks again for all you hard work bringing this to us, and for you continued support of the girls. Rock on!!
Thanks so much Martin! I know Wacken has had sound issues from what I've heard. Jinger had issues there I remember. So awesome that Lovebites was invited to play there though .. and then they went and showed everyone that they can go home right after they play lol 🍻
Great reaction as always. This was a really good song. What surprised me, that Midori had dark hair at this concert. She looks good with any color hair.

Thiis is the show that won Lovebites the 2017 Metal Hammer, Golden Gods Award, Best New Band award! This is a GREAT concert! 🤘🏻 When the band started out the stage position was different. Midori was left of Asami and Miyako was Right. After the Battle in the East concert they switched. I'm assuming the reason was a sound thing but I'm not sure. This band is great live. I saw them in LA this past September with some friends. Amazing show! I always compare Midori and Miyako with Dave Murray and Adrian Smith. Dave is always the shredder and speed demon and Adrian is the technical guy. That's what I feel like with Midori and Miyako. Midori is the shredder like Dave and Miyako is the technical guitarist like Adrian. #WOLFPACK4EVER 🤘🏻🔥🐺🔥🤘🏻

For me, finally, I had to concede that I listened to some LOVEBITES more than others, and so even though I maintained that it was impossible to rank their songs, the 3 WW2 songs have a certain sense of gravitas that make them, for me, different from the majority of their catalogue. This song, like Apocalypse and Red Sky is about Japanese tragedy in WW2. In this case it is the futility and finality of the Kamikaze. By the way, I know you do a lot of background reading about the band, but are you aware that the actual title of the band is LOVEBITES…. in capital letters. If you see the band write the name it is *ALWAYS* in caps. That’s why I follow suit.
One theory is that the grand piano's lid opens on the right side with hinges on the left. The open side of the piano must face the audience. As such, the piano (with Miyako) will have to be at stage left.
The « war trilogy » is awesome ! I am looking forward to seeing the other two songs with you. Thanks again for your reaction to Lovebites again. I am waiting for next Saturday ❤🤘🏻🇫🇷

I have never regretted it and I still celebrate the five women (and of course Miho too, her bass playing remains a fantastic memory of my first steps towards the Wolf Pack)!
SO Fkin Awesome you were there!!
Unfortunately I only discovered them after they had supported Dragonforce in the UK in 2019 and had to wait untill this year to experience them live at a small club in Lindau, Germany. But that gig alone was worth the 5 year wait. ❤
And the next one, with the ole’s was even better….
These ladies are world class musicians and they deserve worldwide recognition.
LOVEBITES - Above the Black Sea lyrics & credits:
SOLO: miyako
Age of oddities, suffocating with all of these strings pulling me
Fit into the mold of this twisted world
This is how it's ought to be
SOLO: midori
Worshipped death and flight, sin to live the night
Who are you supposed to be
Higher and higher, higher than the Heavens
Now's the time to pour your blood and heart into the sky
Higher and higher, far above the Heavens
Go beyond the silent clouds that promise nothing but the end
SOLO: miyako
Time to put an end to this nightmare
Cause you have no choice in your hands
Higher and higher, higher than the Heavens
Now's the time to pour your blood and heart into the sky
Higher and higher, far above the Heavens
Go beyond the silent clouds that promise nothing but the end
SOLO: midori
In a moment I'll fade away
As long as he will bring us a new day
I will take this in as my fate
Just let me leave something proving my life
In a moment I'll fade away
As long as he will bring you a new day
I am thankful this was my fate
Just let me leave reason to my life

On June 11, 2018, LOVEBITES won the prestigious Metal Hammer GOLDEN GODS Award (London, UK).
Set-list (Wacken Open Air -2018):
1. 'The Awakening'
2. 'The Hammer of Wrath'
3. 'The Crusade'
4. 'Don't Bite the Dust'
5. 'Above the Black Sea'
6. 'Shadowmaker'
LOVEBITES performance at Wacken Open Air-2018 was recorded and released in 2020 on DVD 'Crusaders Standing at Wacken - Live in Germany 2018' ( Limited Edition 'A' of 'Electric Pentagram' Album).
Asami's xmas show was fantastic. Watched the livestream. What a great voice she has
@@michaelthain4488 Yep, it certainly showcased her vocal range and versatility
We will be checking MDO out soon so stay tuned!!
@@TJandTheGringa MDO is a Fast paced Banger. Their early albums contain some very eye watering hooks, shred and everything in between. It's rare a band goes 4-5-6 albums and has zero meh or filler material but Lovebites once again re writes that narrative.
10:45 "f~~~ing Midori", absolutely true, and also "f~~~ing" Miyako's surpriseful songwriting. 😊😉
Mihos dream was to play Wacken and they killed it
This was great. Thanks, these ladies rock. Epic song and Asami sounds so cute in English😊.

Excelente miércoles de Lovebites queridos amigos...
Hermoso tema el de hoy... (como todos los de Lovebites)

Saludos Amigo!! 💕
I loooooove Rachmaninoff!!!! Thank you for the fun fact!!!! 🎉
I think this song and Under the Red Sky were also meant as a love letter to Rachmaninov.
Lovebites again the best of the BEST🎶🎸🥁💕💕💕
Glad you enjoyed it!♥️♥️
Very underrated song from Lovebites, Battle Against Damnation is an awesome EP!! 🤘🔥
This is around the same time Lovebites won the Metal Hammer award for Best New Band at the Golden Gods Awards, pretty much the Oscars of Metal music!
Miyako and Miho traveled from Japan to accept the award, there's video of it around here on YT! 🤘
Midori before she dyed her hair blonde, it always catches me off guard, good job guys
🤘😎🤘💗
10:45 and from here, ladies and gentlemen, this song "takes off"... 😁 🤘
another great wednesday reaction guys, lets keep this new tradition going and maybe someone else can do lovebites thursday and fridays and so on, so we have a whole week of incredible music every day, i'd visit them all, can't skip a day without my shot of dayly lovebites, they are soooo awesome. See you next time keep your horns and head up 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
“Above the Black Sea” is Miyako’s tribute to Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff 🎸🔥🤘
I love Rachmaninoff!!!!!! 🎹❤️
@ Rachmaninoff is one of Miyako’s favorite composers! 🎹🔥🤘
Piano concerto No. 2. The main melody sounds a lot different in the full orchestra setting, but we need both versions for sure!
Yes, their presentation at Wacken Open Air, Germany, 2018, was a total success for Lovebites and a dream come true for Miho. I have this DVD (Crusaders standing at Wacken, 30 minutes long) that was included in the special edition of the CD album “Electric pentagram”.
If I had a top 3, this would be in there. Hidden gem! 🏴🤘🐺
Thanks for watching Will!!
"The Orcs are coming!"
Prepare for Battle!
And why have I not heard this before? Its powerful!
〖ABOVE THE BLACK SEA〗 is a live video included on DVD.🐺🤘🤗
Aside from the awesome music I have to say that Midori looks so good here. I know a lot of people dig her more recent, blond Amazon braids but I have to confess an affection for her old style with that great lustrous mane of dark hair.
She looks awesome with the dark hair... totally agree!!
LOVEBITES WEDNESDAY!!!!! great reaction to this first song of the war trilogy, with one of the best concerts of the early era from them, they have a different energy, more thrashy, backing vocals, awesomeness in every second ❤🎉
💗💗💗
This is one of my favorite performances because it is so early in their career to be this good and be able to play at that venue, they look and sound amazing. 🤘🐺🤘
I wish I had known them back then, as the Wacken Festival is only a few hours away from me. But I'm glad to see that the place was full and not just a few rows.
It's long overdue that the wolves make their return to Wacken and then please a bit later in the day, on one of the bigger stages and for at least an hour or more. Let the ladies really work their magic and they will blow the audience away! 🤘🏻

Interesting to note
Well, the connection is clear. The humanity learns through pain, and a lot of young lives lost... in vain ultimately.
@bigg2988 I know what you are saying but Asami has never said it's a trilogy. If you can cite when she said so, please cite it.
@@metalmark1214 'The Apocalypse', 'Above the Black Sea', 'Under the Red Sky' are all united by the theme of War. In an interview (June 2018), the ladies said that there is a connection between these three songs.
Interview excerpt (translated from Japanese):
- "As for the lyrics, it seems like the two songs 'Above the Black Sea' and 'Under the Red Sky' are related in content.

Svetlý bod týždňa je vaša reakcia tejto hudobnej skupiny. 🙂
Thank you so much!! That means alot to us!! Much ❣️
Nice reaction.
Thank you for watching!! 😎
The video that started my journey with Lovebites 4 years ago and haven't looked back best band I've ever heard.
このライブ何度見ても見飽きない。緊張でミスはあるけど魂のこもった演奏、、、最高!
Midori💚💚💚💚💚 Miho💜💜💜💜💜 " under the red sky" one of the trilogy is one of my favorite track from lovebites
Some more disparate thoughts:
I am probably imagining things, but the riff of this one reminds me of the low hum of a plane's propeller, heading into the nevermore.
Hi. Thank you again for your reaction to the cover of Franz Rhythm (Dreams). Merry Christmas. P.S. The Gringa lady still has her beautiful smile 😂
Thank you so much! ♥️. Merry Christmas!! 🎁🎄
Criminally underrated song. One of my favorites. Lovbites rules! 🔥🤘🤘
My favorite Lovebites song still until today and yes, such an epic sound.
Unfortunately not about grabbing your sword and shield and ride into battle, but about japanese Kamikaze pilots in WWII, starting into the sky and knowing to never come back again 😢

So sweet. I think the Ladys a little Nervous to play first Time in Wacken.❤❤❤❤🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺
(#makeitapublicholiday!)
Cheers Brother! 🍻
Hi Guys! Another great reaction of a woderful LOVEBITES song, and of course "happy LOVEBITES Wednesday" 🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺
I watched this the other day after a bit of a while and thought The Gringa gonna love this one :)
Old style Lovebites with M&M the other way round, and "pretty" Midori who really features with her crazy face melting shredding.
Sadly not always the case with all festivals (I won't mention Bloodstock, haha)
Thanks again for all you hard work bringing this to us, and for you continued support of the girls.
In a couple of interviews with Miyako and Midori I have heard Miyako call Midori "Malmsteen" for the speed she plays.
Hello Tequila duo again, thanks for the reaction. And yeah nice touch from Miyako classical intro then the stage explode. Yeah it's Lovebites. First Japanese female metal band ever played at the Wacken fest, after they win Golden Gods Award for the best new band of the year. Yeah they can do anything. We are definitely checking that out. Thanks so much for watching and stay tuned! 🧡
Don't get me wrong...2024 Lovebites is epic, but the 2018 version OMG. that raw sound its simply nasty.
It seems their sound was more raw back then in general. This song and especially in this version easily in my top 5.

Miyako deserves credit for her abilities. There are Two phenomenal Lead guitarists in this band. It's a shame that Miyako isn't considered an equal to Midori by so many...
I don't think many people don't know what Miyako is capable of if you follow this band...my 2 cents on that ..They are both phenomenal musicians.
i discovered Lovebites in 2022 during their hiatus. I missed them in Paris in 03/2019 in Casino de Paris. 🥲🥲 but i saw them in june this year 🤘🤘🤘
Great reaction Jimmy and La Gringa. You must have noticed that Miyako's on our left and Midori's on our right here.
Thiis is the show that won Lovebites the 2017 Metal Hammer, Golden Gods Award, Best New Band award! This is a GREAT concert! 🤘🏻
When the band started out the stage position was different.

When you listen nameless warrior you will realise how much better can lovebites be. Midori shread attack
Only two years after the band formed.
wait till you hear the other two songs - midori shredfest from start to finish !!!
Coming soon!!
Great reaction i love that...and next your reaction another song lovebites title song LIAR that song is great song please..
You should try Lovebites-Dancing with the devil live 2020
And to think at the time of this performance they had only been together for 2 years. Next time they go to Wacken they'll be on the mainstage.
There is even a better version of Above the Black Sea. Its from Daughters of the Dawn-Live in Tokyo 2019. MINDBLOWING. One of Miyakos songs of course.
Nameless warrior
The old stage setup Miyako stage right, since 2019 it is Midori stage right, anyone a idea why they changed?
I've read a cooment on this saying it was because Miyako wanted to be close to the piano once they started using it, since it was placed stage left.
@@HellMac Thanks for the input, makes complete sense
One theory is that the grand piano's lid opens on the right side with hinges on the left. The open side of the piano must face the audience. As such, the piano (with Miyako) will have to be at stage left.
@@boyzyu I agree.
The « war trilogy » is awesome ! I am looking forward to seeing the other two songs with you.
Thanks again for your reaction to Lovebites again. I am waiting for next Saturday ❤🤘🏻🇫🇷
