    I can never forgive my mom for outright denying the attempt to have killed me.
    She was drunk to the bone and we got into a physical fight. Since I felt finally ready and strong enough, I fought back and that surprised her. We... pushed each other around before she tackled me onto the bed and started choking me.
    I kicked her with my boots into the stomach until she let go of me.
    She still doesn't admit she has done it. I can't even tell if she seriously doesn't remember or is just twisting the truth to her benefit again.
    I will never forgive her. Never.

      You will be better of without that toxic mother around.
      Find happiness, that's something she can't deny you anymore.

    • @northernstar7162
      @northernstar7162 3 ปีที่แล้ว +35

      She'll know what she did. But she won't admit it because she doesn't want to take responsibility for it.
      The fact that she came home drunk when she's got kids in the house is a problem right there. Your mom sounds like she's got a lot of personal issues and needs to get her butt into therapy?
      For you, I hope you find happiness and new adventures that will make new memories and bring lots of smiles into your future :) Good luck!!

      Even if she doesn't remember, she's still responsible for getting drunk enough to black out and become violent. I'm assuming she got drunk on a regular basis and had been made aware of her behavior after the fact. She knows, at least second-hand, what she's like when she gets drunk. So she has no valid excuse for nearly killing you--even if she wasn't in control and doesn't remember.

    I'm not a parent, but I'm sort of like one to my siblings.
    My sister somewhat unknowingly destroyed my childhood DSi and all of the saves, photos, and animations I had on there. The huge collection of stuff I had saved in there took over a decade to build up, and I was planning on keeping the DSi so I could show my future kids what my life was like when I got older. She's destroyed a lot of my prized possessions, but I still can't forgive her for that.

Mom got a phone call and left the yard really quick to answer it (this was land line times) and I forget why but the girl wanted to show me something real quick and in my brilliant baby brain I thought "oh I'll be back before shes off the phone". Well she found me at the house and whooped me all the way back home. It was much later I find out just how sketch of a neighborhood this was and that her parents were grody drug dealers with really pervy friends (Which was suspected and why I couldn't go over there) and how scared she was thinking I got snatched. She still ribs me about it on occasion.

    I didn't dance with her at prom, well ok I did but it was very brief and I wasn't so keen due to other reasons (my dance partner was sick so I wanted to check on her) and that ended badly.
    I lied to a cousin last year when living abroad, was supposed to help him out at a job but I dipped out (thought he had enough assistance) due to thinking that having my place cleaned up in tip-top shape to welcome my mum home after not seeing her was way more important. That snowballed into being nearly disowned.
    I know for a fact that I got a loong list of things she would never forgive me for, and I fully understand that it's near hard to make amends, but believe me. I meant nothing bad. Actions speak more than words, always think of what you do and respect your family.

    Boy, did I learn a lesson in forgiveness watching a Forensic Files episode. A boy got killed in a drug deal gone bad. They caught the kid, of course, but the mother of the dead child pleaded with judge not to give her son's killer the death penalty, saying, "His mother can still visit him in prison; but, no mother should have to bury her child," after she had just buried hers! :(

    I’m not surprised to hear that people are will still visit their kid in jail after killing their husband a.k.a. the stepdad because women sometimes will stay with a husband that they know M***** Their own flesh and blood child it seems a lot of the times people will ignore the things they don’t like about people and just live in a fantasy world of what they want to pretend that person is like

      I will say my uncle used to be in and out of jail all the time and my grandma would visit him until she physically couldn't. She knew exactly who he was and she knew that he wasn't a little angel she simply just visited because she lived him. Consequently, my mother hated watching my grandma go to jail every Saturday so she said if I get arrested she's not visited because she won't be like her mom.

    Honestly I don't think my mom will ever forgive me for one thing in particular;
    Having similarities to my dad.
    He's a horrible person and it would be understanding if I was behaving like him but I'm not. I look like him, my tone of voice sounds like his when I'm mad, sometimes I say phrases he used to (I grew up hearing them and idk where they're from), and worst of all I have a "type A personality". Years of therapy on both ends but still, she gets upset and all she sees is how I'm like him. He abused both of us and I haven't spoken to him in around 5+ years but she will never fully forgive me for our similarities.

    I know a family member who used her son as a pawn in court against her mother (the childs grandmother.) The person, who I'll call C, is a spoiled See-You-Next-Tuesday. C had gotten into an argument with her mom and fought over something trivial. Grandma had custody of C's child mainly because C didn't want to be a mom. C used her child and basically forced the child to say Grandma abused and neglected him when it wasn't true.
    C's only sibling couldn't forgive her for a long time because of it. It got worse when their mother died and the relationship was strained for a long time.
    30 plus years later, C is penniless, essentially homeless (living with said sibling who somehow manages to tolerate yet constantly berates C,) and C 's only child doesn't even bother to speak with her.
    I only found out about the court situation when I was trying to find her son a couple of years back. We reconnected and he told me everything. In all fairness, C wasn't an abusive parent, but it seems she didn't want to be a mom and happened to put everyone else over her son. Sometimes even put the son in difficult situations when he shouldn't have been in one in the first place.
    From what I know, C sometimes resents her sibling, mainly because she happens to have a great relationship with her own children (even C's son shows more respect towards the sibling than his own mom) and C will lament that she doesn't have a "perfect child."

    Not a parent. But sister stole a credit Suisse necklace which was a graduation gift from my uncle/godfather. We never confronted her because of that but she'd been stealing money from us for years. The first time she stole from me was when my parents had to leave us for a while, and she took my allowance (big bills) and replaced it with smaller bills, which were crisp. She knew I liked crisped bills. It was probably her way of bribing me. I was 10 then. What followed were years of stolen allowances, akong other things. She's manipulative and a HYPOCRITE. My mother lost her necklace and pretended it was someone else who stole it. After several years she confessed to me that she knew it was my sister. She was just too heartbroken to accept it. Looking back, I wish I called the cops when I lost my necklace. But I wanted to forgive. Now, I think it was a better think to do to teach her a lesson. She makes a lot of money now, from her business. A hope she stops stealing.

    The coin collecting one rung deep...
    After my mum ran away from my dad, brother and I, we didn't realize she took most of the valuable antiques we had locked in a show cabinet until the morning after...
    She took the coin collection my great great grandfather started and brought with him from Italy, it went through generations of hands, more coins were collected and added... thousands of bills, coins, collection sets, just... gone
    Gave it to her mother (not on my dads side) who sold it to her son that just got rid of it after sending me a photo of everything in a grocery bag supposedly throwing it out.
    We tried with police in our town and in their city to get all of this back, but after it was passed to my shitty uncle, he just disappeared off the face of the earth for a while... case dismissed because there's no proof of any collection or of anybody taking anything...

    Unconditional love is unconditional. Without having that for your kids, you really shouldn't be a parent and the moment they were born, they deserved better. Children know, deep down, instinctively they know, and that shapes them more than you could ever realize. Love your children or give them a better life than one with you.

His aunt and her bf took him in but what made it really difficult is that we are both in middle school. We got a lot of stuff to do and going on and they just kick him out?? Where would he go?? My children are lovely, but I suffer from care giver burnout. I don’t have the mental bandwidth to take care of two sole sucking toddlers and myself so I’ve let myself go and I feel resentful. The kids rely on me for everything and there’s no energy left to take care of myself. This has triggered self-harm behavior that’s completely new, uncontrollable, and my only sense of momentary satisfaction followed by self-h@te until my next self-harm release. The kids take everything from me, I can’t do anything without them demanding my attention in some way. Possibly the self harm is a subconscious way of trying to end it because I’m so miserable. I’m not cut out to be a mom! I hate giving every piece of myself, every second of my life, I get no happiness from it, only resentment. They aren’t even in school thanks to Covid. I literally get zero moments to myself. So so resentful!! As I type this my 4 year old is on the couch screaming for me, he hurt himself at gymnastics. My older one is screaming for an early dinner that I haven’t even started yet because I had to take him to physical therapy for a crooked spine. That little prick just set an alarm to get me out of the bathroom. I can’t go on today without another self harm session, it’s the only thing that keeps me going
