These Foolish Things - Jack Strachey & Eric Maschwitz

Day 247 of my daily video posting project. I have been working on this project since November 2023--posting a video of piano music every single day!
Here is another classic jazz standard: "These Foolish Things" by Jack Strachey. The lyrics were written by Eric Maschwitz. This version is found in "Unforgettable.. The Lighter Side of Jazz".
I thought the tune was really familiar to me, and when I looked it up on TH-cam, I found Rod Stewart's version of this American Standard. As soon as I heard the words, I realized I knew the song. With so many years of playing, the sheer volume of music library that's been stored in my brain is huge and sometimes I KNOW I know the tune, just not from where!
This piece has also been recorded by many famous jazz artists--I love Ella Fitzgerald's and Billie Holliday's version, among others. They are all so different.
I decided to exercise my improvisation chops on this one (just a little!)--the repeat has some added rhythm / fills that I decided to decorate the melody with.
