Unicorn Warriors Eternal is definitely one of the coolest looking shows that i’ve seen recently. The animation art style is so French comic vibes and i love it. The story is looking interesting and pretty disturbing when you think about it. I can’t wait to see how this will end. Strongly recommend this show. It’s very cool 😎
I think the amount of details and plot threads the show has will have some immense pay-off, and the concept is already extremely interesting. It’s just way too early to tell with only two episodes so far
One interesting thing to note is that sometimes when it's time to seek out new bodies for the eternals, the souls don't always seem to synch up perfectly. Causing the identity issues you brought up. And even perhaps it's a recurring issue for the team with each generation.
Finally just finished the show. I liked it. It has its issues. It's pretty vague with the rules of its world but at the same time I appreciate that it doesn't hold your hand throughout the whole show and allows the audience to make their own interpretations rather than explain every detail. I think that may be a big sticking point for some viewers. Would you like your series to be well defined and let you know exactly what this world can or cannot be capable of, or do you like having the openness to make your own interpretations rather than get solid answers to every question. It's a scale that different people are going to fall in different places on. This show really reminds me of some writing advice I got once that the best way to make something that feels fresh, you should watch, listen, and read widely. (For example if you want to write a scifi, you should consume other scifi stories, but also sitcoms, historical fiction, mystery thrillers, etc along with that.) This show draws from so much. 1930's/40's animation. Dark 1980's fantasy movies, speculative fiction of the 19th century, French comics, and a lot more that all combines so fascinatingly well together, I couldn't help but want to check this show out.
I saw the first two episodes of this show. So far I really enjoyed it. Love the art style. All I hope is that they get at least three seasons and not get canned and leave off a cliffhanger. Still salty over the cancellation of Inside Job, Dead End, and Victor and Valentino
There's only one thing about this show that makes it hard for me to get into. It's possible that I missed something but I find the logic of the avatars a little fast and loose. They are reincarnated into new bodies that already have lives of their own. Emma is no longer Emma, she even takes time to clarify it. She doesn't take her fiances hand or say I don't know what's happening who or what am I, she's just like "I'm not Emma" yet the small boy it's totally himself, he's just having fun with the monks powers, not to mention the monks nationality seems to not matter, as he's been Chinese, then native American, then east Indian. Not gonna lie that part feels loaded seeing as how the other two always look like them selves. The elf and the white lady never change, but the monks esthetic doesn't even seem to matter to the creator. All the diversity is in one character and not in an appealing way. To loop back I feel like having the spirits akways have been in their body and then needing to be awakened would have been more cohesive, or even have every character struggle similarly with this transition. It feels like an over complicated detail when I see the boy acting nothing like the monk, like he's an entirely different character, the elf is the same dude with every bit of memories and his OG persona just completely disappear, the witch spirit knows she's not Emma and doesn't even seem like she loves the guy in the first episode, yet she struggles with not knowing the robot or her friends, the rules seem very thinly defined and it kinda takes me out of it. All and all more planning and care for the project could have made this something more enjoyable to me personally and maybe overall
Honestly, I'm not really a fan of the character design but the animation is top notch (so smooth and dynamic, especially Emma). Also, I think that Copernicus doesn't randomly choose people, but rather have predetermined people in mind, just that he had to find them. Winston will be a bad guy ;)
Is it just me or I kinda wish all of them retained their previous lives identities and not just emma as alfie seemed very charismatic compared to what he is now and he just beat on his brothers like there was no big deal even though that should be a big deal to him. Then you have edred who seems so far has to be the least problem having undergoing the transformation. Otherwise I'm hooked to see more of the show and hopefully the reason for why copernicus was searched to be woken up is explained. Also the voice acting should improve overtime ionce they get settled in their characters.
This is the best show I've seen in a while while the cliff hangers are much like RWBY (always leaves you wanting more, starts off slow but wraps you up in a web of deception) ... I can't get enough of it...
This is definitely a passion project series. By comparison to his other works, U:WE has this very uneven nature to its characters, world, and plot that very much feels like an idea that someone came up with high school as a random side thing in their spare time, and decided to realize it now that they had the background and confidence to do so. That does not necessarily mean anything with regards to the show's quality, but I can definitely see the passion that went into making it, and I can respect that.
@AlphaJayShow as the show unicorn Warriors, eternal feels like it’s show from the golden age of Cartoon Network and that cartoon network era is long gone and it’s the last Cartoon Network show to be released before Cartoon Network will still be a brand but what’s going on inside that brand is going to be entirely new not to also mention that the original Cartoon Network building is going away a long with all the talent and original art work at the original ideas and talent from there are all going away with the original Cartoon Network building as a whole completely erasing all of the hard work, talent and Amazing art work that is apart of that original Cartoon Network building witch is a really sad sight to see.
I like the animation style a lot, MAJOR Astro Boy vibes, and the voice acting is... okay-ish. It's definitely suffering from having a lower budget. I feel like it's going to improve in later episodes as the story gets stronger though.
I heard there’s a marathon of the first 4 episodes of the episodes on both on Adult Swim on May 19 from 12:00 AM to 2:00 AM EST on Adult Swim and a marathon on ACME Night on May 28 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM EST!
I'm in more or less the same boat. I'm just not that invested in this show, it's not grabbed me like his other stuff tends to. I feel they're holding too much secret.
Like everything Tartakovsky I'll grow to love it more and more as the series progresses, just to massively fumble at the 10 yard line. The man has amazing idea's but he never knows how to wrap up his stories with a good ending.
@@TheAlphaJayShow Called it, rushed and incomplete ending. He really needs a script editor to keep his ideas in check, the man loves the meat of the story but he never knows how to wrap all narrative threads together competently in the end. Somewhere by the 70% percent mark a proof reader has to get Gennedy to stop developing new plot points and work about resolving existing ones. Seriously you're 75% through the end of the last episode until they pull a Deus-Ex Melinda (See what I did there) and it still was not a proper ending.
I binged the first 3 episodes at night, actually not what I expected. I love Melinda and Edred, and can't wait for the rest of the show. The animation ans art style is so cool!
If this show takes off I would love for CN to give Tartakovsky another chance with Sym-Bionic Titan and let him finish it like he did with Samurai Jack!
¿¿Who was the original creator of Copernicus?? Merlin said that he brought Copernicus from the future, but he didn't give us any more details about him. We don't know anything about his creator and what was his relationship with Merlin. Was Copernicus created simply to revive the warriors or was he created for another purpose before Merlin found him?? ¿¿Also,Why was Copernicus buried and who buried him?? Did his creator bury him thinking that it had already complied with Merlin's orders??
I disagree with the last point and somewhat with the forth point. Idk if it’s just me but If ima villian then I’m gonna take my opportunity to try and destroy the robot that’s gonna try and ruin my plans before it has the chance to wake up that’s just common sense. Senes most villian usually don’t have yeah Copernicus woke up cause of it but he was gonna wake up eventually anyway I think it was way smarter to at least try and get rid of him before then that’s just a straight forward way of thinking. As for the voice acting I kinda see what you mean but at the same time Emma looks to be pretty young and I feel like the voice just fits her well. Soft spoken sweet but I do get the point that when the more serous stuff is happening it’s a bit lack luster.
Thanks for the review I’ve seen trailers of this show on tv but it was super vague scenes with no information on the show just showing the art style. It kinda made me not want to watch it but this video made me want to give it a second chance. I also agree the first time I watched Primal i was hooked.
I'll start off with saying trying to destroy or control the source of the unicorn warriors power before it's time to be activated is a very smart move, the whole point is that coppernicus woke up too early so now things are out of whack, I think its pretty obvious that she is part of a plan and getting the unicorn warriors out of the way or stealing their power before they were activated was a part of it, and second I actually really like the voice acting for Emma, she sounds the right amount of stressed about the situation without becoming annoying to watch like most characters in these kind of situations do
I've only seen the first two episodes, but I like this one. Emma looks like Betty Boop. Dimitri looks like an old Osama Tezuka character. One note - I don't trust "Merlin" in Episode 1.
If there's one issue I have with Unicorn it's that it's first two episodes are not as good as Primal (nowhere near for me), and not quite as good as Samurai Jack or Sym-Bionic Titan.
Wow this is definitely reminding me of symbiotic Titan but a small touch of samurai Jack especially with the main girl Malina being out of touch also question for you
I'm just happy that I'm *technically* getting a Sym-biotic Titan show. Samurai Jack ended, Dexter's Laboratory ended, but Sym-biotic Titan ended on a cliffhanger. I can cope with the fact that this maybe takes place in the same universe.
Wish we get to see the other reincarnations during different historical times throughout the show they should automatically get a season 2 the mixes of the multiverse with the supernatural with fantasy with the future.... does merlin really live in the future with the then made copernicus or is it a really good hologram of merlin from the future wow love these concepts Gennedy is the best
The wedding scene was so heartbreaking, you can saw how their eyes glowed seeing each other, and how he tried to protect her as he could, and then instead of being scared by her, he approached her kindly to trying to figure this out together TT~TT

I really hope so
One interesting thing to note is that sometimes when it's time to seek out new bodies for the eternals, the souls don't always seem to synch up perfectly. Causing the identity issues you brought up. And even perhaps it's a recurring issue for the team with each generation.
I hope this show gets renewed for a second season during it’s first season!
It's a mini series. It will only get 10 episodes and that's it. It's like Over the Garden Wall where there's no new seasons
I wish that this show will premiere on ACME Night and currently reruns of the show are airing not just Adult Swim but on Toonami and ACME Night!
Good news the series will premiere on acme night on may 28 at 6 p.m.
@@raynape3199 The show premiered on ACME Night on May 7 at 7:45 PM EST!
@@BobForeverIsAwesome but this will be a marathon
They're rerunning the show but not every Sunday
The show has potential to be good I like it really hope they bring Sym-Bionic Titan back
From your lips to Geddy's ears.
Looks good so far.
And big fan of Fox Lady.
(For example if you want to write a scifi, you should consume other scifi stories, but also sitcoms, historical fiction, mystery thrillers, etc along with that.)
This show draws from so much.
@ *Alex* I 100% agree with everything you said here.
ya something about the story pushes me away from it but the animation itself its what i kinda like
Honestly, I'm not really a fan of the character design but the animation is top notch (so smooth and dynamic, especially Emma). Also, I think that Copernicus doesn't randomly choose people, but rather have predetermined people in mind, just that he had to find them. Winston will be a bad guy ;)
" Caught you staring " (5:45) is crazy.
Genndy never do wrong on making cartoons.
Well said!
@@TheAlphaJayShow ^^
So far I'm enjoying it, I get strong symbolic titan vibes. I'm not gonna think to hard about it yet... but here's to hoping it hits harder soon.
This is the best show I've seen in a while while the cliff hangers are much like RWBY (always leaves you wanting more, starts off slow but wraps you up in a web of deception) ... I can't get enough of it...
This show looks like it could be a great crossover with Kingdom hearts!
Copernicus is the best character in the whole show. He is basically R2D2 he just wants to do his job.
Once again Genndy Tartakovsky has done it again the man knows how to make a good. I cannot wait for my adventures of Superman to come out
To say it's crazy is putting it lightly. It's just, all over the place.
This show is so awesome and I like the animation is like a comic style like from popeye or betty boop. I can't wait to see what happens next
It did remind me a lot of Betty Boop
Genndy did work on a cancelled Popeye movie so you can definitely see the style, especially the Olive Oil looking girl.
What I know for sure is that the internet is gonna be crazy for that fox lady villianess.
And that’s why Genndy Tartakovsky is a legend for making this awesome show, he is always a success
Genndy has no right to make this shit go so fucking hard.
Spoke too soon before watching ep 3 lol
Winston lives
I like the animation style a lot, MAJOR Astro Boy vibes, and the voice acting is... okay-ish. It's definitely suffering from having a lower budget. I feel like it's going to improve in later episodes as the story gets stronger though.
I already saw the the first two episodes, and I'm ready to see the third! I'm excited for this series!
I love that fox. She built like Dexter's Mom.
8:58
Even so their are those that think Winston is still alive just badly injured.
Whoever the bad guys are all going to take his body and used him as a puppet to manipulate Melinda/Emma
Came for the evil vixen.
Stayed for the story... and the evil vixen
EDIT: Yikes, my comment is aging badly.
I like how you placed the video on end screen right in the middle, the thumbnail fits right on your avatar.
Emma looks like an edgy Betty bop
And then Winston lived😅
Genuinely have no idea how this show is going to progress. The premise is so bonkers that it's hard to figure out.
It was so cool! I had never heard of it, the animation was so neat.
I watched the first two episodes and yeah, it's totally bonkers.
I NEED to watch it Right NOW!
Yeah, the voices didn't seem baked in to me too. Like it's a voice-over done later lol They were kind of sticking out, but mostly Emma's, yeah.
I heard there’s a marathon of the first 4 episodes of the episodes on both on Adult Swim on May 19 from 12:00 AM to 2:00 AM EST on Adult Swim and a marathon on ACME Night on May 28 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM EST!
It kinda surprised me that there's a CN screenbug during the marathon.
The animation reminds me of the rubber hose animation of Phlisher studios.
Edit: Phlisher made Popeye and Bettyboop.

Well I have reason to believe their whole dimension is in a staple paradox and Emma may hold the key to breaking it before even started.
Interesting take
@@TheAlphaJayShow Called it, rushed and incomplete ending.
I'm so excited for this show.
If this show takes off I would love for CN to give Tartakovsky another chance with Sym-Bionic Titan and let him finish it like he did with Samurai Jack!
5:45 when you know what the fans want!
Maybe it's gonna be revealed later
On god all my homies be talking about it
So crazy WE LOVE IT!
I f**king love this cartoon. One of a kind . It's like Disney and anime made a cartoon together ❤🎉🎉
Love Unicorn Warriors Eternal so much!
I love that Copernicus is capable of doing anything mechanically necessary with zero explanation
Thanks for the review I’ve seen trailers of this show on tv but it was super vague scenes with no information on the show just showing the art style.
It kinda made me not want to watch it but this video made me want to give it a second chance.
I also agree the first time I watched Primal i was hooked.
I’m already hooked on this show
I'll start off with saying trying to destroy or control the source of the unicorn warriors power before it's time to be activated is a very smart move, the whole point is that coppernicus woke up too early so now things are out of whack, I think its pretty obvious that she is part of a plan and getting the unicorn warriors out of the way or stealing their power before they were activated was a part of it, and second I actually really like the voice acting for Emma, she sounds the right amount of stressed about the situation without becoming annoying to watch like most characters in these kind of situations do
"All I know is when she is revealed, I won't be able to google her name again..."
IYKYK
Did I mention that Emma/Melinda is my cartoon crush? Seriously, I felt in love with her.😍
I've only seen the first two episodes, but I like this one. Emma looks like Betty Boop. Dimitri looks like an old Osama Tezuka character. One note - I don't trust "Merlin" in Episode 1.
If there's one issue I have with Unicorn it's that it's first two episodes are not as good as Primal (nowhere near for me), and not quite as good as Samurai Jack or Sym-Bionic Titan.
or Dexters Laboratory?
I don't see that as an issue it's just that it's worse than the other things the creator made
God I love this show!
This show is so awesome!
I love it so much.
It's not bad.
It's more better than Primal, I used to watch Samurai Jack back then.
Wow this is definitely reminding me of symbiotic Titan but a small touch of samurai Jack especially with the main girl Malina being out of touch also question for you
Unicorn: Warriors Eternal is a beautiful masterpiece!
I'm just happy that I'm *technically* getting a Sym-biotic Titan show. Samurai Jack ended, Dexter's Laboratory ended, but Sym-biotic Titan ended on a cliffhanger. I can cope with the fact that this maybe takes place in the same universe.
I can't believe this could've had the same fate as final space.
Oh boy...just wait til he watches episode 3..
1:07 don't you love it when a piss portal comes out of nowhere and out comes a piss person?
I cant tell if this is rigged or hand drawn
True
I thought I was the only one who thought this show existed
3:53
Yeah that cold as it can get for most of us to those like Emma that are under 25 are more resistance the transference then the previous hosts.
No you can catch me staring call me looking at the time wiping my chin because I am ace
The voice actor for Emma feels like something you would hear on Tumblr with maybe 100 likes.
Looks like osamu Tezuka art style i love it
