Interesting that Tesla won and Fisker lost. I personally always thought both cars were ugly pieces of shit, but it's good to know startups can still succeed in the modern market.
a combustion engine spinning a generator to produce electricity that is used to power electric motors which turn the wheels? isn't this technology used for many years by diesel locomotives and heavy off-highway trucks because a normal transmision wouldn't handle the strains of all that weight? what's the point of using it in a car? that's like first buying a chicken and then waiting for it to lay eggs if you want an omlette in the morning!
And the company IS NOT FINNISH, both Finland and Denmark are Scandinavian countries, however it is not because Fisker is Dannish that they are making the Karmas over in Finland, there is MASSIVE language barrier, Finnish and the other Scandinavian languages are not similar. The factory that they're made in in currently making the BMW X1 and the Karma (obviously) also some other cars that I forgot. I hope that this clears up the confusion and unnecessary controversy. :)
Hmm.. Not a car that I would recommend anyone to buy at the moment. I'd personally give it a 5+yrs for it to get settled. Seems gimmicky at the moment and unreliable from what I have read so far. I hear it's quite underpowered contrary to its sporty looks and credentials. Too heavy in my opinion.
Talk less, bro. Trust me. As a gay man that LOVES everything about a man, I need you to be more popular and we hear less of your talking unless you hire a voiceover or your girlfriend (if you’re straight) don’t know. That’s all I do know. It’s annoying in headphones. No shade.
Well, I think that the Tesla is a lot better and a pure electric, but I like the interior, outside look and even the name Karma... and to think that this would nearly be the look of the Model S(which is also beautiful). Things really mess up sometimes..
Cyrano de Bergerac? Seriously? Guys, come on. In a world where Motor Trend is making such excellent weekly videos and Top Gear is still the king, you've got to do better. You are by far my favorite magazine--and the only one I still subscribe to--but this video has no narrative flow and none of the trademark wit Automobile is known for.
Too bad about all the battery recalls, fires, and poor build quality. Fisker was contracted by Tesla to help design its second car which would become the Model S however that relationship fell apart and Tesla tried to sue Fisker for doing substandard work and stealing designs. Soon after Fisker launched his car company in 2007 and rushed his car from an idea to production in just 3.5 years in order to beat the Model S to the market. Serious problems quickly started piling up. Tesla 1 - Fisker 0
I thought it was pretty good. Didn't just tell you about the car, it implied what the car is useful for - ie nothing except as a showcase for 'green' tech.
A hybrid is the best solution right now. Tesla is ahead mostly because it got a lot of free advertisement. In this test it's 110 degrees and the Teslas rang would get short, as in extreme could. In short daily drives Tesla is great but longer drives the hybrid is the best solution. No one wants to stop 1 hour to charge on a long drive, just like the NY times driver that charged only 28% cause he thought it would get him home. Who wants to stay 1 hour at a remote charging station at night in -20?
VERY WELL DONE! Probably one of the best automotive reviews I've seen, not just on the Karma, but any car. Chris managed to inform viewers about a wide range of aspects about the Karma and Fisker as a company, but presented that information in an entertaining manner. Most impressive.
The guy forgot to mention that the douche bag Fisker, was once a designer for Elon Musk's Tesla car company. And then parted way stealing Musk's idea for the electric car and started his own Fisker car company. Fisker may be a great designer but he's no engineer like Musk. Tesla cars are 100% electric unlike Fisker's which are hybrid. There's nothing special about his car except for the design aspect. Tesla brings to the table exceptional engineering practice and ethics.
grounding123 Not sure what your comment has to do with this video (Tesla is not the topic). As you note, Teslas aren't even the same technology as the Karma. Your assertions about theft are also inappropriate and were proved wrong in an attempt by Tesla to sue Henrik Fisker when he left the Tesla project, which Tesla lost.
Simon you're right; my comment was influenced by a documentary I had recently watched regarding the challenges Musk had to go through to make the Tesla happen. OK I'm guilty of trolling a bit, and I retract my comment. I wrote it on the heat of the moment...lesson learned.
You forgot to mention the massive amounts of government subsidies that it took to get this thing built, or that Fisker is losing money right now even after getting a blank check from the tax payers. In fact, you are lucky the damn thing didn't light itself on fire when you stopped for your "chai something."
does this kar need to be charged always to be driven meaning that it can only run 50 miles or can it use only gas and not need to be charged * note how I put k in car lol
I have this car. It’s wonderful!
How’s it been? Is the battery good? I wanted to pick one up.
That grill though
model s is better
Fiskers don't make noise when they start up, just so you know.
Interesting that Tesla won and Fisker lost.

Walter White's car drove by at 3:30
Agreed. The Model S is much better, but this car was a great move. It took a lot of guts to put it into production, and it does have some positives.
Talk less, bro. Trust me. As a gay man that LOVES everything about a man, I need you to be more popular and we hear less of your talking unless you hire a voiceover or your girlfriend (if you’re straight) don’t know. That’s all I do know. It’s annoying in headphones. No shade.
The front end of the car looks like the JOKER from batman movie and that is enough reason for me to buy this beast looking vehicle.
403hp, over 900+ for torque & it only goes 0-60 in like 6sec...........
like how? how the hell is that possible lmao im so confused
The weight?
Jeremy Silas I guess it’s because it weighs 5400 pounds 😂😂😂
even i have heard of Fisker, and i am from Romania, not an american. about this Karma model i know of from about 2 years ago.
Well, I think that the Tesla is a lot better and a pure electric, but I like the interior, outside look and even the name Karma... and to think that this would nearly be the look of the Model S(which is also beautiful).
Things really mess up sometimes..
R.I.P. the Fisker Karma.. I'm sure this will make a great collectable since they went bankrupt
Henrick is from Denmark, and the Company is NOT entierly american. It's Also Dannish.
I think the Tesla Model-S looks a lot better, and it won't catch fire!
Cyrano de Bergerac? Seriously? Guys, come on. In a world where Motor Trend is making such excellent weekly videos and Top Gear is still the king, you've got to do better. Well fisker is Danish. So pretty eu.... USA please dont take the credit ..
Tesla>Fisker
Oh and also this journalist is pretty horrid.

This video was..... strange -- not bad, bu strange.
You hear that angry ranting? That's Mitt Romney.
the boy is cute. he s better than the car!
I thought it was pretty good. Didn't just tell you about the car, it implied what the car is useful for - ie nothing except as a showcase for 'green' tech.

They can't give them away.

Fisker is American.
Good review. Not sure why he had to go to the beach in the middle there. Disappointing car however. Super car price without the speed. A loser.
I never heard of this car till last week.Ive seen the black white and chromed 1.Pretty neat.
Well, I liked the review, but the car, aside from looks and that awesome interior, doesn't seem so great. Not to mention the fires and recall.
you guys need to use better mics, a tripod and some filters for the camera. the video is really raw
Horrendous
i remember this company back when they had two models, one based off of the bmw 6 series platform, and one based off of the mercedes sl platform
fifth
Tough to believe he overran the curb with the front end at the Starbucks!
hes like fisker keys i yelled FISKER KEYSSSSS AAAAARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I prefer the Model S, cheaper, faster, lighter and a lot less to break!
Just seen one on the highway and had to watch and see what this car is about.
you dont need to charge. yust drive and drive and drive and drive!
OMG i cant believe! you dont know how to park a sports car!
Isn't this the company that was started with US tax $?

MrMagickent Still plenty available, thanks to the new owners.
Still can get parts
its too bad this car and the company is a failure
they are NOT bankrupt! chinese want to buy them.
fake and gay

this review might be lamer than the car
Mitt Romney watched this video 15 times
he looks kind of Joseph Gordon
good car, bad management.
beautiful grille?????
NO
this host is pretty cute
He said, "there is a surprising lack of plastic in this interior".
mrjost55 what's your point?
hi fisker, where you at?
Do your research buddy
This car SUX!
fisker is finished
BMW i8 ftw
TESLA!!!!

Exactly :D Elon Musk FTW !
so you saying, no one thought of making an electric car before Musk? My god, that guy is a genius!!?
Mario D. Zmaj Just the ideas that Musk had.

I want to see Carlos shirtless -.-
does this kar need to be charged always to be driven meaning that it can only run 50 miles or can it use only gas and not need to be charged
* note how I put k in car lol
So why did you spell car with a "k"?
I have the last one of those and it is my car
this is not a good design
Even elon wanted this design for tesla
am i the only one who thinks the fisker is ugly?? it's so gross, I wouldn't drive this car if it was free.
@jax1079 - ditto
