One of Henrik Fisker's greatest strengths is his prowess in design. Just look at the lines of a Aston Martin Rapide (which he also designed). He should've stuck with that since this vehicle's greatest downfall is the lack of infrastructure in place to service it. This is where Tesla really shines; on a worldwide scale. The ownership experience that Tesla provides for their customers is second to none, and that's what a car purchase boils down to. Reliability, ease of service and cost of ownership.

I recently had an opportunity to buy one for 30k so I did some research. This car will try to kill you. The exhaust comes out behind the front tires, so if you're idling in traffic you're sucking exhaust fumes. The batteries they used had faults in them and actually caused a few cars to catch fire.

Csaba is probably the best car reviewer I've ever seen! There are a lot of amazing car reviewers out there, and while Jeremy Clarkson is very entertaining, I wouldn't ask him about buying a car for myself.
Csaba's approach is to review a car more like a close friend of even a father (THIS IS A COMPLIMENT!!!!), and as a result I trust his reviews most of all.
Please keep reviewing cars, you're awesome!

Thanks for the feedback, E. The car is quite an accomplishment. We don't hear a lot about Fisker in Denmark. I guess my country is too small for for a company like that to really make an impression but it is nice to see them making an impression abroad. We are only around 6 million people in Denmark so only a fraction of the population here would have the means to get a car like that. Best regards, Leo from Denmark

My 1998 Lexus LS400 does 0 to 60 in 6 seconds and tops out at 160mph! Was built with highest quality materials, My car is 26 years old and the headlight covers are as crystal clear as the day it was new, and there plastic! So there is a material they can use over headlights that doesn't get foggy or just dingy looking!! I have proof, or just look at the first decade of Lexus cars like the LS400 and see how good the build quality is, and nothing but the highest quality materials were used for the inside and outside of those cars! The colors dont fade, the leather lasts forever and the V8 engine, plus transmission last and last with no problems! I drive my 26 year old Lexus ls 400 everyday, its my daily driver and I wouldnt hesitate to drive it anywhere because it doesn't breakdown or give me any problems! It has the most comfortable ride that you can drive it 3 times longer than any other car because you dont get fatigued, because you feel like your floating on air! No, its not a sports car, but sometimes you just want to relax and be comfortable especially on a long trip. And the car doesnt attract the polices attention! I have never been pulled over or even looked at by police in the Lexus 400!! I had a 1996 Pontiac Trans am convertable until about 3 years ago, it was my second car besides the LS400. I was always being followed or pulled over for no reason besides I had a nice cool Trans am conv with bright red leather seats and interior, I never saw one with that color interior before or since! anyway, it got me thinking of turning my Lexus LS400 into some kind of sleeper car. Sure it had very good power, especially for a large car but nobody, or I mean cops give that car a second look. It looks like a well to do car, not beat up to draw attention and not a sports car that cops love to gravitate twards because they love to intimadate younger people! When they would pull me over in the TA or Mustang they always looked shocked when they walked up to the drivers side window and theres a 58 year old man looking back at them!! I can tell they just thought I was a young kid and got surprised when they saw my face. They usually just let me go quickly! But the LS400 does not draw their attention at all, so I thought a supercharger would make a nice sleeper out of it! besides, the seats in that car are so comfortable and both driver and passenger seats fold all the way back, flat, like a comfortable bed!! I set up my tablet and blootooth it to the stereo and watch a movie or tv show in confort at the park or something!

Yes i would like to see more reviews like this - i like it when it´s informative. Off course some variations is always good, but IMO some basics have to be covered unless the review/concept is different. Drama and fun is also good entertainment, but it´s very hard to pull off to great success, and many fail in this. So yes please more reviews like this ;)

Nice car but it has a hodgepodge of different cars thrown together. It looks lie a Corvette, Camaro, BMW, Dodge Viper, mixed together. This isn't to take anything away from the car and to those who like it. It's great that these guys are bringing us this stuff. The more they bring us and the more people buy the lower the price might become.

Thx for your reply! I was concerned about the batteries developing memory (like cellphone and laptop batteries) or in the case of lead acid batteries, my car's battery (sealed battery) gets changed out on average every 2-3 years. If these battery packs can last like you say, then full electric makes a lot of sense

I'm glad he recognized the impracticality of the car as it isn't as versatile as most cars need to be today. With a 28-35 mile range on electricity it's hardly making in impact for most people because the average daily commute to work (one way) in the US is approximately 20 miles. In huge cities where traffic increases and road accessibility decreases that number can rise to as high as 60. Which is why Csere said it best when he stated that this is a very particular car for a certain buyer

Beautiful automobile! And I have a lot of respect for Mr. Csere, that's why when I watched this video and saw him taking both of his hands of the steering wheel for prolonged periods it really supprised me?! Csaba even you??? This is such a BAD example for young drivers and bad all around when piloting any automobile! I love cars, and it would seem that a lot of professional auto journalists practice this very bad habit? O.K., enough about that, great CAR and wonderful review Mr. Csere!

Great review - I think it is also spot on on the Pros and Cons of this car - The only remarke i would say is that the center battery stack was not addressed. Having spent time i nthis car and other high end luxury cars, it is rather cumbersome. Tesla's horizontal stacking is much better, but then again Mr Fisker would know that considering he is the one that designed the tesla :) Well done. Keep them coming.

Being a dane I'm glad to see people putting in some effort when speaking a foreign language. The Fisker is a pretty impressive car. Without knowing all the facts I would say that the Tesla S so far looks far superior to the Fisker when pricing and performance is concerned though. Nice video!

Excellent review! Ihaaker, I also would choose the Tesla Model S - don't you love the interior and this massive 17" screen? But one thing the Fisker has is a petrol engine. It's a hybrid as opposed to the all electric Tesla. This means that you can take the Fisker out for long distance drives which you really can't with the Tesla - at least for now, until Tesla installs their charging stations everywhere.

Excellent Review! I think the Karma is great. Perhaps the Karma 2.0 will address the deficiencies sited in Csaba Csere's comments??? ... I believe a new user interface and perhaps some sound suppression/isolation for the 2-liter engine might be among the first things to address. All things considered though... great first car for Fisker. I am excited for the Karma S (please build) and Atlantic.

This car has too much 'edginess' in its design DNA to be considered a timeless and universally gorgeous. Basically what a teen aspiring to be a 'car designer' would draw. Muh agressive, muh sport, wow. It's banal in its core, there are really no different cues, just that plain 'sporty' vibe that's executed in the nor convincing (like Lamborghini, it's plain aggressive but more harmonic and authentic), nor elegant way.

I don't know if one can do this, but is it possible with the software to modify the 0-60 time in order to extend the battery life? I mean, if I had one, i would set it for 0-60 for 6 second instead of 4.3 seconds and if that extended the life 50+ miles, it would be worth it. I've driven cars in the 6 second range and never really used it to where i needed to really actually use that power available.

I know they've had a few hiccups in the past but hopefully they've works out the kinks. But they're up against the Tesla S which I find incredible, so this electric/hybrid car war will be very interesting to watch in the near future. I hope both are able to stay alive, even bulldoze the conventional car market down a bit. I truly do believe electric/hybrid cars will be the wave of the future. I've becoming a fan of Fisker over time and wouldn't mind taking one out for a road trip; even a Tesla S

I'm still a little on the fence about the 17 inch touch screen. I do like physical buttons and knobs because i can change things without looking at it. That's the drawback when changing a setting on a flat screen while driving. There is a technology by some small company that creates the feel of a button, knob, slider, etc. with touchscreens, but they haven't released those yet. It's still in the R&D stage and they are looking for companies that make mobile devices. That might be cool

You could say the Model S is Tesla's first car too. The Tesla Roadster is a modified Lotus Elise. Lotus even made the Roadster chassis for Tesla. The Model S is first car fully designed and manufactured by Tesla. Fisker has made other cars before too, but they were just re-bodied luxury cars like BMW's 6 series and Mercedes SL's.

YEAH! True they've only ended in mid 2012, but there may be some hope down the line. There was talks of reigniting the project with the company being bought by a German car maker. But it's doubtful they'll come back anytime soon. It really wasn't a bad car it just needed a lot of TLC concerning the business end and some of the electronics and drive train. I dunno I'm hopeful for these things.

The S model. Unfortunately, there is no location in my area and I'm not ready to purchase, but if I can swing it when I'm ready, I would have to drive one first and have some time to sit inside it. I'm normally used to driving Mercedes and I like the solid feel of Benz's, so if it has that solid feel when on the freeway, etc., that would be definite selling point. The 0-60 is great, but I don't think i'll ever need to push any faster than 0-60 in the 6 second range is PLENTY dangerous.

The car is designed and engineered in the U.S. but manufactured in Finland and shipped to the States.

Based on the reviews and videos made by owners of the Fisker and the Tesla S so far I would absolutely agree with you. The Fisker's interface is supposed to be a little "glitchy" compared to the Tesla. They both look nice though.. Without knowing all the facts I would still say that the Tesla seems to be a more refined car. And who are we kidding :) almost three seconds faster from 0-60 even if you get the 20.000 dollar cheaper entry level Tesla. I know it's not a biggy but fast cars are fun.
