Man i really like the reviews that this guy makes. Takes his time to go into a lot of details and also showing them. Covering practicality, Driving, Looks and giving his honest buying advice. Thanks ;D
Considering that "Mr" Fisker worked for Tesla design team and left Tesla to build his own electric hybrid with low spec and overpriced... His confidence convided people to buy these cars...
Being a reader of Car & Driver magazine for years I have always enjoyed Csaba Csere's reviews. And now I'm really enjoying his video presentations. Presentations are very coherent and offer a lot of interesting details. I'm very happy with subscription to your channel! Thank you.
One of Henrik Fisker's greatest strengths is his prowess in design. Just look at the lines of a Aston Martin Rapide (which he also designed). He should've stuck with that since this vehicle's greatest downfall is the lack of infrastructure in place to service it. This is where Tesla really shines; on a worldwide scale. The ownership experience that Tesla provides for their customers is second to none, and that's what a car purchase boils down to. Reliability, ease of service and cost of ownership.
Csaba is probably the best car reviewer I've ever seen! There are a lot of amazing car reviewers out there, and while Jeremy Clarkson is very entertaining, I wouldn't ask him about buying a car for myself. Csaba's approach is to review a car more like a close friend of even a father (THIS IS A COMPLIMENT!!!!), and as a result I trust his reviews most of all. Please keep reviewing cars, you're awesome!
Thanks for the feedback, E. The car is quite an accomplishment. We don't hear a lot about Fisker in Denmark. I guess my country is too small for for a company like that to really make an impression but it is nice to see them making an impression abroad. We are only around 6 million people in Denmark so only a fraction of the population here would have the means to get a car like that. Best regards, Leo from Denmark
nice review, and i certanally hope Fisker gets good sales. the car and Henrik deserves it. and how nice it is to hear Henrik talk with his ol' Danish accent :-D
I'm glad he recognized the impracticality of the car as it isn't as versatile as most cars need to be today. With a 28-35 mile range on electricity it's hardly making in impact for most people because the average daily commute to work (one way) in the US is approximately 20 miles. In huge cities where traffic increases and road accessibility decreases that number can rise to as high as 60. Which is why Csere said it best when he stated that this is a very particular car for a certain buyer
Fantastic review guys, Only thing I would say is that this felt a little drawn out and the same thing was covered a couple of times, but I am really enjoying the thought and "class" that has gone into all of your newer reviews. Keep up the great work.
Excellent review! Ihaaker, I also would choose the Tesla Model S - don't you love the interior and this massive 17" screen? But one thing the Fisker has is a petrol engine. It's a hybrid as opposed to the all electric Tesla. This means that you can take the Fisker out for long distance drives which you really can't with the Tesla - at least for now, until Tesla installs their charging stations everywhere.
Csaba Csere is without a doubt everything I could ever wish for in a car reviewer. He is just so professional and to the point. Nice job by the employee from Fisker too. I assume he was Danish. Being a dane I'm glad to see people putting in some effort when speaking a foreign language. The Fisker is a pretty impressive car. Without knowing all the facts I would say that the Tesla S so far looks far superior to the Fisker when pricing and performance is concerned though. Nice video!
I recently had an opportunity to buy one for 30k so I did some research. This car will try to kill you. The exhaust comes out behind the front tires, so if you're idling in traffic you're sucking exhaust fumes. The batteries they used had faults in them and actually caused a few cars to catch fire.
Liked the review, but I was just wondering on your opinion on the fit and finish. I saw one in Las Vegas, and none of the exterior body panels seem to line up. Nonetheless, the most gorgeous 4dr sedan in the market today.
Thx for your reply! I was concerned about the batteries developing memory (like cellphone and laptop batteries) or in the case of lead acid batteries, my car's battery (sealed battery) gets changed out on average every 2-3 years. If these battery packs can last like you say, then full electric makes a lot of sense
Did Fisker offer any information as to the considerations they took to improving efficiency through the external design of the car? Like drag coefficients, etc...Also, do big wheels like that improve efficiency or reduce it?
Beautiful automobile! And I have a lot of respect for Mr. Csere, that's why when I watched this video and saw him taking both of his hands of the steering wheel for prolonged periods it really supprised me?! Csaba even you??? This is such a BAD example for young drivers and bad all around when piloting any automobile! I love cars, and it would seem that a lot of professional auto journalists practice this very bad habit? O.K., enough about that, great CAR and wonderful review Mr. Csere!
To me, the compromises would be worth riding around in something this special and beautiful. Also, if I have enough money to afford the Karma, I'd have something else for long trips. Awesome car, awesome review!
Nice car but it has a hodgepodge of different cars thrown together. It looks lie a Corvette, Camaro, BMW, Dodge Viper, mixed together. This isn't to take anything away from the car and to those who like it. It's great that these guys are bringing us this stuff. The more they bring us and the more people buy the lower the price might become.
My 1998 Lexus LS400 does 0 to 60 in 6 seconds and tops out at 160mph! Was built with highest quality materials, My car is 26 years old and the headlight covers are as crystal clear as the day it was new, and there plastic! So there is a material they can use over headlights that doesn't get foggy or just dingy looking!! I have proof, or just look at the first decade of Lexus cars like the LS400 and see how good the build quality is, and nothing but the highest quality materials were used for the inside and outside of those cars! The colors dont fade, the leather lasts forever and the V8 engine, plus transmission last and last with no problems! I drive my 26 year old Lexus ls 400 everyday, its my daily driver and I wouldnt hesitate to drive it anywhere because it doesn't breakdown or give me any problems! It has the most comfortable ride that you can drive it 3 times longer than any other car because you dont get fatigued, because you feel like your floating on air! No, its not a sports car, but sometimes you just want to relax and be comfortable especially on a long trip. And the car doesnt attract the polices attention! I have never been pulled over or even looked at by police in the Lexus 400!! I had a 1996 Pontiac Trans am convertable until about 3 years ago, it was my second car besides the LS400. I was always being followed or pulled over for no reason besides I had a nice cool Trans am conv with bright red leather seats and interior, I never saw one with that color interior before or since! anyway, it got me thinking of turning my Lexus LS400 into some kind of sleeper car. Sure it had very good power, especially for a large car but nobody, or I mean cops give that car a second look. It looks like a well to do car, not beat up to draw attention and not a sports car that cops love to gravitate twards because they love to intimadate younger people! When they would pull me over in the TA or Mustang they always looked shocked when they walked up to the drivers side window and theres a 58 year old man looking back at them!! I can tell they just thought I was a young kid and got surprised when they saw my face. They usually just let me go quickly! But the LS400 does not draw their attention at all, so I thought a supercharger would make a nice sleeper out of it! besides, the seats in that car are so comfortable and both driver and passenger seats fold all the way back, flat, like a comfortable bed!! I set up my tablet and blootooth it to the stereo and watch a movie or tv show in confort at the park or something!
Tesla Model S Reading customer reviews from the Tesla and Fisker is like day and night. The Fisker Karma has too many compromises. Tesla is the future. Everyone should test drive one. It's awesome!
Great review - I think it is also spot on on the Pros and Cons of this car - The only remarke i would say is that the center battery stack was not addressed. Having spent time i nthis car and other high end luxury cars, it is rather cumbersome. Tesla's horizontal stacking is much better, but then again Mr Fisker would know that considering he is the one that designed the tesla :) Well done. Keep them coming.
Well we certainly are entitled to our respective opinions, my opinion ,,, this car is a long long away from being " ugly " as you put it. Seems like we are comparing cars ( according to your post ) I definately see a bit of Aston Martin and Mazda RX8 in the profile, never heard of anyone calling those cars " ugly ". But again it's all a matter of opinion and we should respect the right of others to form and post theirs. Great technology in a beautiful design, well done Mr. Fisker and crew !
Great review! I just don't know why someone would choose this car over the Tesla Model S. In my opinion the only benefit that the Karma has over the Model S is its styling. The Karma is very good looking but that's about it.
Excellent Review! I think the Karma is great. Perhaps the Karma 2.0 will address the deficiencies sited in Csaba Csere's comments??? ... I believe a new user interface and perhaps some sound suppression/isolation for the 2-liter engine might be among the first things to address. All things considered though... great first car for Fisker. I am excited for the Karma S (please build) and Atlantic.
Personally, I like the Tesla Model S a lot more. Fisker Karma looks gorgeous no doubt but I think the Tesla Model S looks more clean and subtle. Not to mention it's amazing interior and crazy numbers it pulls.
Yes i would like to see more reviews like this - i like it when it´s informative. Off course some variations is always good, but IMO some basics have to be covered unless the review/concept is different. Drama and fun is also good entertainment, but it´s very hard to pull off to great success, and many fail in this. So yes please more reviews like this ;)
pretty good review Chubby Cheddar : ) quite fair although I would have accepted a more scathing treatment of the gasoline mileage and the green credentials of a 2.4ton car. it's more of a token than actually engineered for efficiency. it could be done at half the weight with double mileage and the some
My bad..I apologize for my ignorance and meant no disrespect. What I meant by my comment should be read as my thumbs up for the car, the initiative behind it and the person presenting it in the video. Making a car on this level is by no means something to be belittled.
The S model. Unfortunately, there is no location in my area and I'm not ready to purchase, but if I can swing it when I'm ready, I would have to drive one first and have some time to sit inside it. I'm normally used to driving Mercedes and I like the solid feel of Benz's, so if it has that solid feel when on the freeway, etc., that would be definite selling point. The 0-60 is great, but I don't think i'll ever need to push any faster than 0-60 in the 6 second range is PLENTY dangerous.
Best way to extend the life of these batteries is to charge them often to prevent them from going deep into their range or the charge less often. It sounds sort of the opposite of each other but both do the same thing really. You want to get to avoid the battery being constantly low. I don't know how long the Karma's battery will last but most of the bigger batteries in other EV's last (if properly maintained) 8 to 10 years so with this battery being smaller I'd think I'd last longer
I couldn't agree with you more regarding the design ,, I think it is a beautiful car ( but then again I drive a Hyundai Genesis Coupe and I think that is a beautiful car also ,, beauty is in the eye of the beholder ). I'm curious as to why you do not like the engineering ? to be sure it's different and I have no doubt there will be a market for that particular technology ,,, have a great day !
I'm still a little on the fence about the 17 inch touch screen. I do like physical buttons and knobs because i can change things without looking at it. That's the drawback when changing a setting on a flat screen while driving. There is a technology by some small company that creates the feel of a button, knob, slider, etc. with touchscreens, but they haven't released those yet. It's still in the R&D stage and they are looking for companies that make mobile devices. That might be cool
I know they've had a few hiccups in the past but hopefully they've works out the kinks. But they're up against the Tesla S which I find incredible, so this electric/hybrid car war will be very interesting to watch in the near future. I hope both are able to stay alive, even bulldoze the conventional car market down a bit. I truly do believe electric/hybrid cars will be the wave of the future. I've becoming a fan of Fisker over time and wouldn't mind taking one out for a road trip; even a Tesla S
Great review. This car certainly has style but that's about it for me. Just like you said, it's something people will buy to make a statement but retain luxury. I'd much rather have the Tesla Model S which is about half the price, easily outperforms this, and is 100% electric.
Based on the reviews and videos made by owners of the Fisker and the Tesla S so far I would absolutely agree with you. The Fisker's interface is supposed to be a little "glitchy" compared to the Tesla. They both look nice though.. Without knowing all the facts I would still say that the Tesla seems to be a more refined car. And who are we kidding :) almost three seconds faster from 0-60 even if you get the 20.000 dollar cheaper entry level Tesla. I know it's not a biggy but fast cars are fun.
Nice review, no fuzzing about, plain and simple. Just the way I like it. Tell me, has anyone asked Mr Fisker if, in a few years, we will see hydrogen Fiskers? I'm just wondering. Have a nice day!
You could say the Model S is Tesla's first car too. The Tesla Roadster is a modified Lotus Elise. Lotus even made the Roadster chassis for Tesla. The Model S is first car fully designed and manufactured by Tesla. Fisker has made other cars before too, but they were just re-bodied luxury cars like BMW's 6 series and Mercedes SL's.
Thank you sir. This is the way comments should be made. I am tired of answering to commenters who tell other people they are morons because they disagree, I don´t answer to them. But certainly everyone has their own opinion and appreciations about cars. So thank you for a very polite expression of your opinion to another person´s comment. Some actual morons should learn from this, lol...
Having watched quite a few extended reviews on both the Fisker Karma and the Tesla Model S, it's clear that the Model S is the superior car for anyone who doesn't need to drive more than a few hundred miles without stopping.
I like the interior, very nice work since i hate plastic. The lack of motor sound is bad but environment is more important. The Tesla S and Karma cant really be compared, because as said in the video the karma is more inbetween 2door coupe and 4door sedan , while the Tesla S clearly is a sedan
I'll keep my red Tesla Model S. But, if Fisker can drop some lb's and increase the battery power and it's range up to around 250 or so, Then I would get one. Maybe they'll make improvements by 2015. Did enjoy watching the video though!
Test drove the Tesla Model S-P85+ and was very impressed with it's performance and handling. Don't care much for the layout of the battery box in the Karma.
Technically a brilliant idea. Looks amazing, finally an aggresive looking car again, where the line after the front wheels sink before it rises again. But it shows electric+gas cars don't work cause this is probably the best you can do in that theme. Hydrogen is the future, cause charging takes too long and batteries weigh and arent green, even if charging can come from green nuclear power. The whole HF interview is brilliant, its well thought out, great work.
This was their first car !! In that prospectiv it is a great product. aswell as it is a completely new engine system. It is a shame that they didn't get a change to do improvements ... i like the idea that there are people out there which have the balls to compete with all these billion dollar automotiv firms existing for 100 years!!
Pros : Awesome Design both inside and out Cons : The Engineering My Opinion - Would have been amazing if this was a proper petrol sports car, could easily have given a run for their money to even the best of the German & English cars. Its a treat to the eyes.
I wonder if that that roof would stand up to a Canadian, Yukon winter? I am thinking that because of the severe cold temperatures that solar tape would crack and short out.
I don't know if one can do this, but is it possible with the software to modify the 0-60 time in order to extend the battery life? I mean, if I had one, i would set it for 0-60 for 6 second instead of 4.3 seconds and if that extended the life 50+ miles, it would be worth it. I've driven cars in the 6 second range and never really used it to where i needed to really actually use that power available.
It´s a good point but one have to remember that the Tesla is pure electric and this is a hybrid with a gaz engine. So in that regard they are actually not directly comparable. Also they do not aim at the exact same target groups. Henrik Fisker has said many times that he wants to create luxury and uniqueness - Which the Karma is. The Tesla S is very good looking car indeed, but it´s not directly a head tuner. Just as an example of TG: Karma ≈ Aston Martin Rapide | Tesla S ≈ BMW 5 series.
One word: Presence. This car has road presence in SPADES, especially if you see one on the road. Incredible design.
Man i really like the reviews that this guy makes. Takes his time to go into a lot of details and also showing them. Covering practicality, Driving, Looks and giving his honest buying advice. Thanks ;D
I like this guy Csere. He's special. Keep up the good work. Don't lose your uniqueness.
So they only built like 2500 cars and over 300 of them were destroyed by Hurricane Sandy....lol holy smoke, talk about Karma lol
Your comment may be the best comment I have ever seen
Considering that "Mr" Fisker worked for Tesla design team and left Tesla to build his own electric hybrid with low spec and overpriced... His confidence convided people to buy these cars...
this is one of the best car reviews ive see on youtube, keep it up

Fisker Karma body with everything else the Model S, this car would be amazing.

Please keep reviewing cars, you're awesome!
BY FAR THE BEST REVIEWER E-V-E-R. PERIOD!!!

Well detailed honest and unbiased review, good job.
excellent review! lovin the videos
The best report by Csaba Csere!! I like you test drive!! Well done!!
Brilliant review
very fair guy with his judgement i m a mechanic guy and i enjoy it.. thx for posting
nice review, and i certanally hope Fisker gets good sales. the car and Henrik deserves it. and how nice it is to hear Henrik talk with his ol' Danish accent :-D
Makes me proud to be danish !

Csere, from the drivers seat, which felt more like a drivers car?
Fisker or the Tesla?
Beautiful, stunning. Can't wait to drive it down the PCH

Great tv show! Good quality! Thanks! Good job Casba!
I was genuinely scared to see Csaba driving this in the rain. These things explode when you get them wet.
I think the Fisker Karma is absolutely gorgeous
Looked one over today....I'm no fan of electric cars at all, but this car is striking....quite beautiful even.
Absolutely keep doing things like this
Beautiful shape and the fact that it is responsible. But I'm not keen on the rear lights or the design of the lower front and rear bumper...
I want one!!!
I'd purchase the fisker, the would have to redo the electric attached to battery.
The design is really cool... regardless of inviromental considerations, and maybe ergonomic short comings. All 4 door sudans, should look so good!
What a wonderful sports car this is - yes the growling of a V12 and V10 is nice but THIS is the future. And the future looks very promising so far.
My 1998 Lexus LS400 does 0 to 60 in 6 seconds and tops out at 160mph! Thank you! I really enjoy C&D videos, very informative and interesting. One of my favourite suscriptions. Cheers!!
The next time you see one of these on the road, you can proudly say to yourself "I helped that guy to buy his car!'
Tesla Model S
Reading customer reviews from the Tesla and Fisker is like day and night. The Fisker Karma has too many compromises. Tesla is the future. Everyone should test drive one. It's awesome!

Great review of a stunning car. Though the one car I would see as the closest alternative to this was never mentioned. The Lexus LS hybrid.

I've becoming a fan of Fisker over time and wouldn't mind taking one out for a road trip; even a Tesla S
the car look's very nice but what abaut the speed? run like Maserati or Ferrari or any other sport car? what abaut the transmission?
Solid review. Very informative and impartial!
The Fisker employee was the founder and creator of Fisker and the Karma.
What are the paddles on the steering wheel for?
Nice review, no fuzzing about, plain and simple. Just the way I like it. Tell me, has anyone asked Mr Fisker if, in a few years, we will see hydrogen Fiskers?
I'm just wondering.
Have a nice day!
Well, now that says a bit about your judgement now doesn't it? Most beautiful design on a car today...
hey were you guys in long beach friday? i seen the car parked while i was over there. cheers
I know that the tesla is a more complete and better preforming car, but the fisker is such a better design. Fisker just makes gorgeous looking cars
Thanks for the great review!
how much will it be if you make it chrome?
You guys should do a tesla/fisker comparison!
I like the interior, very nice work since i hate plastic. The lack of motor sound is bad but environment is more important.
The Tesla S and Karma cant really be compared, because as said in the video the karma is more inbetween 2door coupe and 4door sedan , while the Tesla S clearly is a sedan
nothing against the presenter, props for not puking at the sight of the car
Thumbs up if you can find where they got a little spec on the protective mirror to their DSLR cameras. Love the video though. :)
Actually it's assembled in Finland (at a plant that also assambles Porsches). Almost all the parts the car is made from are produced in the US.
This car is waaaay better looking than a Tesla, just my opinion though. I'd own one.
probably because they spied and copied tesla
this car is dope. future right here
I'll keep my red Tesla Model S.
Pros : Awesome Design both inside and out
Cons : The Engineering
My Opinion - Would have been amazing if this was a proper petrol sports car, could easily have given a run for their money to even the best of the German & English cars. Its a treat to the eyes.
great review.
Great looking car! Totally begging for a supercharged LSA transplant.
Gotta give credit to Csaba for giving it such a well-balanced review, but I can't imagine why anyone would buy this car when the Tesla Model S exists.
I wonder if that that roof would stand up to a Canadian, Yukon winter? I am thinking that because of the severe cold temperatures that solar tape would crack and short out.
It's laughable to watch this review a few years later. Right about the time this review was published the Model S was being shipped to customers......
The car is designed and engineered in the U.S. but manufactured in Finland and shipped to the States.
