Great to see that the side cast reel hasn't been sent to the garbage bin of history, my Alvey reel was purchased 50 years ago and is still going strong, good one Lozza, keep the faith.
I'm a fresh water fisherman and I just enjoy watching your videos so that I know what i'm down when I get chances to go down to the coast. Great videos, and if you want a rod with a flurescent tip, the shimano sonic surf has a nice bright tip about 2-3 eyelets down the rod once its had a bit of light on it. I recommend adding it to your rod collection.
Beautiful beach, beautiful setting. I thought (hoping!) you'd get a few bream. Another very pleasant video. My mate says "Always take a jacket!!" But he's not a fisherman. See you next week.
I appreciate how you always treat your fish with respect and kill them quickly if keeping. I see many youtube fishos who don't seem to care. Thanks for another excellent video.
Thanks Roger and Loza. It always intrigues me how two people can stand side by side and one catches fish and the other doesn’t?? Thanks for sharing the info re the Star Sinker. Greatly appreciated.
Hi, Roger! Love your fishing instructional videos! Best I've ever seen. I have a question for you on the influence of floodtime creek water flowing into a beach. I was down Racecourse Creek, Ulladulla during the recent heavy rains, and Racecourse Creek was flowing a banker into the northern end of the beach near the headland. All those ... tannins or terpenes, or whatever the heck those biochemicals coming out of the bushland's trees are ... they were foaming up a brown gunk in the surf up around the trough near the headland. Surprising just how far down the beach from the creek's outlet the brown foam extended. My question is: just how offputting to the fish do you reckon that brown water is? Regards and Thanks, Chris
Hi. I always enjoy watching your vids 👍 Beautiful beaches you guys have that side of the world. Here in south Africa, we have more turbulent waters. Just a few questions for you. 1) I see you mainly prefer the "coffee grinder style of reel" is that a personal preference? 2) curious as to why you don't use a "bucket" strap like Loz does 3) with regards to the length of your fish trace rig, what is the length of the hook line from the swivel to the hook. In cm's please 😊 Lastly, how close are you the the beach, from your home😊 I'd love to have been able to live close to the water..only helhet to fish weekends and sometimes public holidays. Ps Love your vids.. keep up the good work 👍
Roger! Long time watcher first time commenter haha. You should to a dispatch video for people new to the sport. Catch Dispatch on say two to three common species. And maybe a couple of other recipes other than Thai fish cakes Cheers mate
Hi Roger, you said you give lessons on how to catch beach worms. If you are going to have classes at the beach I would love to come and learn. Thankyou Maria
Always nice to watch these two mates fishing together 👏🏽👍🏼…is Killalea Beach a good site for beach fishing? Do you know what type of fish we could catch? What bait to prepare? Thanks
Hello roger hope you are doing fine , i m 22 years old and i want to start my journey of beach fishing i m from Tunisia 🇹🇳 , What do you recommend me to buy as equipments ( my budget is quite low )
Why is it that you and Loz were casting right next to each other but you were catching more salmon, I'm really interested🤔. Did you have different rod/line set ups?
It would be good if you could do a show on how to read different beach swims from a drone view. This would help with identifying sand bars, gutters, rips and swims around features, low and high tides🎣👍 Thanks mate, it would help
We have been to Narrabeen, Macmaster, Forrester, Killcare, Lakes, Mona Vale, The Entrance, Tiona, One Mile and Birubi. We learnt so many things from your Videos. Thus, we managed to catch Salmons, Tailors, Breams, Long Toms, Flatheads, Sand Whitings, Flounders, Darts and so on. We really appreciate your teaching for surf fishing. But we cannot catch any single beach worms at any beaches. Please kindly teach your viewers how to catch beach worms more easily. Thanks.
The beach is so overwhelming I’m no stranger to fishing that being said I’m a complete amateur when it comes to beach fishing!! I never seem to get the conditions right and always ends in complete nightmare first time I went I fluked a nice jewfish and been horrendous ever since love your videos though roger
Rog, your mate Lawrence obviously doesn't know that you will keep getting tangled if you don't use enough lead! He appears to be using pond fishing tackle! Nothing clever about using stupidily light gear, the fish aren't gonna bite if your bait is getting swept past them too fast!
Great Show So interesting to see beach worms used as bait! Totally foreign concept hear in the SE USA Also interesting you all still use the term , Jew Fish. Too politically incorrect here in the US Our term now is Goliath Grouper Folks too sensitive 🥺 here😊
Hi John, thanks for your comment. Worms are very good bait off the beach here. Those fish have been called Jewies for decades here, no reference to the Jewish people. They were originally known as Jewel Fish from the two bones in their skull that can be polished as jewels, but it just got shortened to Jewies

You're a fish magnet Roger....Nice one 👍
Thanks 👍

That's one luck no one can replicate. There's always one among us who catches fish any which way he casts. Roger is one of them.
Hi Roger I am from SA Durban ..

Amazon - glow in the dark tape
Hi Roger, you said you give lessons on how to catch beach worms. If you are going to have classes at the beach I would love to come and learn. Thankyou Maria
Yes I do private lessons - you can book here: www.rogersfishing.com/personal-coaching
Size 2 sinker - I always thought it was 2 ounces ?
I think it is 2 ounces (55g) but its just a coincidence. Size 3 is about 2.5 oz (70 g)
Size 2 is 60g. Size 1 is 30g (star sinkers)
Great episode, interesting who catches tge fush😊😊
Glad you enjoyed
Always nice to watch these two mates fishing together 👏🏽👍🏼…is Killalea Beach a good site for beach fishing? Do you know what type of fish we could catch? What bait to prepare? Thanks
Killalea Beach looks great. All of the things that I do would work there!
Can you tell me or show me how to make a two hook rig again?
Okay, I will do a video on it 👌
Hey Roger, what long shank hook are you using?
I use a variety of brands but mainly Mustad size 1/0
Hello roger hope you are doing fine , i m 22 years old and i want to start my journey of beach fishing i m from Tunisia 🇹🇳 ,
What do you recommend me to buy as equipments ( my budget is quite low )
Is it a heavy action or midium action rod ?
Medium
Hi Roger I noticed the length of rod you use from your partner does it make a difference
My friend was using 12ft rods, I had a 10ft and two 12ft rods
What size sinker are you using?
Why is it that you and Loz were casting right next to each other but you were catching more salmon, I'm really interested🤔. Did you have different rod/line set ups?
Not sure why, Loz spent less time in the water due to some tangles
Down our way we use 2 lamb castration rings on each rod to hold glow sticks on to the rod
Another great video. Is that your wife doing the footage?
No my wife was at home
Great 👍❤❤❤❤
It would be good if you could do a show on how to read different beach swims from a drone view.

Thanks, Noted
👍
In which state do you fish?
NSW
Who is Taylor? why does he always take the bait?
Tailor is a pelagic fish with sharp teeth, called Bluefish in the U.S, and Shad in South Africa
😂😂😂😂😂

You can do it! 😊
Anyone have any recommendations on a cheap surf combo for about 150 dollars
Check out some of the Shimano and Penn combos

Sounds Great

or Lawence doesn't have a cat.
Lozza loves his light gear and normally catches plenty of fish
Are you saying light gear doesn't work? Light gear is always the way to go.
Roger. it was 13 seconds according to your clock.
Thanks mate 👍
