I've had problems in the past with gnats when growing seedlings indoors. This past spring I put a gifted sundew plant under the grow lights with my vegetable starts. Sundews are carnivorous plants. It grew happily and took care of the gnats!

Another thing you can do is add mosquito bits (BT/Bacillus thuringiensis) to the water you use for your seedlings. That plus the bug zapper works well for me.

@@planty__t It's kinda embarrassing how many gnats ended up on my sundew. But it was very satisfying to stick it to them. Literally!☺

This was a great video. I love that you state where you are located. That helps your viewers to adjust a bit for their own location . Your step-by-step guide is great. This video felt like it was made just for me and I'm sure many other people felt the same way. Thanks again from an old gardener in Tucson. Gary

Yep, July was a hot one in the desert. However, we are able to garden so much more of the year here than in the Midwest. We start seeds in the garage with a $20 grow light. As you mentioned there is trouble around every corner, but very satisfying to see that little seed produce food! 😊

th-cam.com/video/VGgc5UsxOMQ/w-d-xo.html This video can help. You may have to take them inside before you go to work - or try some time in the afternoon. You may be able to leave them out all day after the first day or two if the spot gets filtered morning sun.

Great video. I’m heavily researching this lately and poof, you made a video. I’m in Tempe.
Are the sets on Amazon with the two light bars built into the clear dome worthless? I fear that they won’t be bright enough. And the cells are quite small. I thought it might help me get a lot going fast, then I could pot up to solo cups or something like that.
When do YOU start popping stuff like broccoli and kale into a bed? What temp are you looking for?
    Thanks!
