    Absolutely amazing start to the video! I'm glad you took my "integrity" suggestion and put it into practice. I truly do believe giving insight on your knowledge of camera gear will go a long way. Especially in the way you implemented it here in the video! Well done.

      Thank you so much Mitchy, having such constructive feedback on my last video from you was so valuable, I can now see it was the missing part. And thank you for the encouragement, comments like yours make it all worth it. Have a great day 🙌

    The center run of the camera, where the lens, top handle and bottom mounts are, are all composed of magnesium alloy

      I knew there’s some metal on it of course, but didn’t know it was magnesium alloy, I guess to keep it light as possible. Thank you, good to know 👍

    I really love my FX6 but it really needs a 4K 10 bit long GOP codec, the 8 bit long GOP suffers from terrible banding using Slog3. Long format filming for conferences etc would be much easier to deal with in Long GOP, than all intra.

      Wow, I didn’t know that as the longest we record for is around 30 minutes so far, but very good to know. Thank you so much. I wonder if there would be an update for this one day, or it could be the mk 2 if that’s a thing on the cinematic range.

    The audio features of the fx6 just don't do it for me. Hopefully Sony will redo it for the fx6 mk ii.

      @@Pulse8Reviews Maybe an FX3? Would certainly miss the electronic NDs. Maybe Sony has an FX6 Mk2 up its sleeve?

      I can vouch for the FX3, it’s our go to camera. You can work around the NDs too by getting some that thread on the lens, it just doesn’t auto adjust like the FX6.

    I never understood why someone would pay $3500 for a tripod (Sachtler flowtech) until I invested in an FX-6. With all of the rigging, plates, etc you don’t want to place this camera on just any tripod…it will be a very expensive mistake. As a business I have insurance but who wants to go through that?

    • @Pulse8Reviews
      @Pulse8Reviews  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This is so true and yes having insurance is good, but a pain not only with the process, the down time with the camera out of action. We invested in better tripods after I had a near miss with ours 🤣. Thank you so much for watching my video, it means a lot 🙏

    I want a film camera. I’m messing around with my gifted Cannon R50. I’m looking at this Fx6 because I’ll get years of use. Still thinking though

    • @Pulse8Reviews
      @Pulse8Reviews  29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I think you’re right, it will last for years. A friend of mine is still pushing through with an Alpha 6500 and gets good results. Even if a mark 2 FX6 comes out, the first one will still hold up 🙌

    I'm currently a Canon C70 owner and for many reasons I want to switch my entire kit over to Sony. I'm thinking about starting with the FX3 and I eventually want to get the FX6 as an A/B cam and Fx3 for gimbal work. I like the idea of having a larger camera that I can build out and rig up and use the fx3 stripped down.

    • @Pulse8Reviews
      @Pulse8Reviews  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think this is the hardest thing to do is to switch from camera brand to another, especially when that means getting new lenses too, it’s expensive. I did this when we moved from crop sensors to full frame, but one lens at a time. That would be my advice if it’s worth it. Your plan is sound too and the FX3 is such a work horse. If only someone would develop an auto ND which fits on the front of lenses, it’ll be a game changer. Let me know when you switch 👍

    • @josiahlee805
      @josiahlee805 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Though it's more expensive than the FX6, the new C400 would let you keep your C70 and give you arguably better hardware as well as maintain your kit to the same Canon ecosystem. Still, the portability and convenience of the FX3 and FX6 is certainly there if that's what you need, and they're stellar cameras.

    • @ty-k6708
      @ty-k6708 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@josiahlee805I thought long and hard about the c400, but I've decided it's time to be a Sony shooter. I am the one Canon hold-out among my friends and many of my clients as a freelancer are in the Sony camp and have asked me a couple of times if I own a Sony camera and even had to rent a Sony at one point to match up with them. There's just a lot more things about the FX6/FX3 that appeal to me way more than the c400.

    • @josiahlee805
      @josiahlee805 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@ty-k6708 I feel that. Shooting with the R5C while everyone I work with uses FX3's or Blackmagic's, it's sometimes tempting to switch to Sony as well. I hope it works out for you!

      Hey guys, this is ultimately why we use Sony cameras as anyone we bring in on a shoot most of the time will have Sony camera experience. Plus, the auto focus is second to none 🙌

      @Pulse8Reviews  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wow, you've certainly been through it and I wish you all the best on your recovery. In my honest opinion, unless you want the internal ND variable filter and looking to do TV work, I would stick with what you have. The FX3s are our work horse and we use the A7C mk 1 for BTS and photography. I think you have a great combo there and the A7CR can act both as your second camera and photography too, win win. Save your money buddy 👍🏻

  • @reelweaver
    @reelweaver 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Fx6 just isnt state of the art at this time. Internal 12 bit Codec is essential. Pro Res Raw is no alternative. Nice Camera. Just the MK2 is about to launch, thus currently the c400 is no comparison but for sure twice as good, in other words: The FX6 currently wouldn't by my choice.

    • @Pulse8Reviews
      @Pulse8Reviews  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I guess it all depends on what you’re using it for and how much deep or raw you want those clips. Hopefully the MK2 won’t be far off, but we had to wait a while for this one. What would be your choice right now and what are your currently using?
