Great. Thanks for sharing. I am from Germany and your videos helps me a lot today. I failed with the OAL and crimp with new bullets. Your video was the solution!

Thank you for this video! Most informative one I’ve seen. I’m just starting to get into loading handgun and maybe some rifle. Most if the videos I’ve watched don’t have near the info yours does.

Bobby, good and informative video, I agree a bit too much chatter, but I am cool with it. What I would like to see in every video that is on the net about setting up the Sizing die is showing putting a sized case in a bullet case length gauge to show it was fully sized. I have set my dies so many times and I still do not get 100% "Kerplunk" (flat against the top ) on the gauge. I have set it on the plate, gave it a 1/4 turn and1/2 turn and still do not get 100% sized cases. I am using new Hornady and Starline brass with different powders. I am not new to reloading, but this is my first attempt reloading straight wall pistol loads.
I am loading for my S&W Equalizer 9mm and will be reloading for my Henry Big Boy Rem 44 Mag and my Colt 1911 45acp.
    Thank you,
    My Loading bench;
    Hornady AP press
Hornady 9mm 9x19 Custom Nitride 3 set dies, (I do not use the expander, I use the case expander on the powder drop for 9mm).
    .355 Hornady New brass unprimed
.355 Starline brass primed with Fiocchi SPP
CFE Pistol powder Min 4.7gn Max 51 gn.
    Vihta Vuori N320 4.0 gn. Max 4.5gn.
Hornady 9mm XTP FMJRP COL 1.1000
Armscor 9mm FMJRP COL NA using 1.1000 (conservative COL)

Great video! Question about the hornady dies. Do you need a taper crimp die for 9mm and 40s&w?

Bobby,Great video, given you are really good with this press I waned your opinion, before I pack mine up and send it back to Hornady to do some work on it. The ram stopped going all the way down, and the shell plate doesn't go to the base of the press. It stops about a 1/2 inch from the bottom and the right paw is not engaging the index rods at the bottom of the ram. I have had situations where the shell plate hits the bottom but indexing was just a bit short where I made minor adjustments to the paws, but this seems very different. The ram just stops before the shell plate gets to the bottom with no indexing. Any ideas on what caused this, and something to try to fi it.Thanks,Bobbyb

Initially setting up my press I had a similar issue. A small bit of debris perhaps was stopping my press from indexing and returning to the bottom level. DO NOT Force it. **The press needed some grease.**
I applied some grease into the groove on the piston as well as used a grease gun to apply grease through the mechanical fittings until just a slight amount leaked through the seams as recommended on the DVD that came with the press. Apply any excess grease around the piston. A light coating overall. It does not take much.
Gentle manipulation of the arm and a slight pressure and presto! The mechanism seated properly. The paws then only took some slight adjustment to index perfectly. Cleaning the press regularly and lubricating the right places really helps. I hope this assists anyone with the same trouble and "Good reloading!"

Why would you not be putting any crimp on your cases. If you don't when the bullet hits the feed ramp it will make the bullet push into the case. Do you crimp it in another way or know something I don't. Found you video very helpful setting my press up.

No duh dumb ass. Pretty sure that's what I said. My question was why wouldn't he crimp. Learn how to read dumbass

Crimp isn't really necessary and it just beats up your brass more

You can use just about and brand die in it, you will need the LNL die inserts to lock them into though

I’ve got one of those last names that people mispronounce all the time and it’s quite irritating.. with that being said.. Hornady is pronounced horn-a-de now if it had an “A” between the d and the y you would be correct. While I’m on the subject.. leupold is pronounced Lu-pold not lea-pold. The optics company isn’t owned by the king of Africa.
