In the novel, Climb is quite confused when he sees Renner running while carrying a big sword without looking exhausted. It turned out that at that time she had already turned into a demon. This is further confirmed when Climb is called "the last human in this palace" before entering into the throne room. Inside is Renner who is still alive, but she is not considered a human anymore.
Climb: Post-ressurection exhausted human. Renner: Tireless, immortal, superhorny demon. Climb better be into femdom, she'll ride him untill his dick snaps and then keep riding...
Especially because Renner has probably gone on and on to Albedo about how completely, fanatically devoted Climb is to her, so she was probably like "Oh damn she was right"
I watched enough "Tragic Love Story between a princess and a knight" to know how badly both ended up dead at the end. This happy version just make me smile since the King and Nobles actually pay this time instead of them alive and well.
Renner dancing and singing the way she did was technically "anime-only," but it actually is a very smart way to adapt a part of the narration for her state of mind at that part of the novel. To quote the passage in question: “ Her dream of the past was minuscule. It only grew to how wondrous it was now because she had met them. How lucky was she that she could realize such a dream through the simple betrayal and sacrifice of the Kingdom? She wanted to dance. She wanted to sing. The joy in her heart was overflowing. She was truly, truly overjoyed. Her brain felt like it could break from all of this happiness. Demons were immortal. Being locked up in here meant that she had just found shelter in the safest place in the world. ” The anime also turned the thought about only having to sacrifice the kingdom into a spoken line and turned the description of her euphoria into actions to make it understandable and better felt. THIS entire scene is a prime example of what a good adaptation should be.
Ya honestly it was a perfect way to capture the moment and to adapt it to anime in an original manner while still remaining true to the source material
You basically cant do a scene like that song/dance in novel or manga format... I mean sure with manga you can draw it and write the lines... But without the Movement and the actual singing + music its just never going to come close to the same impact/effect.
She has a good job with amazing benefits, she gets to finally be herself and work with intellectuals, she gets to bang her dog as much as her schedule allows it, the girl is living the dream, not everyone can say that.
In the novels, Albedo was pissed with Renner because Ainz played the role of fighting Climb. And also Renner is terrified of Ainz and believes that he is some amazing genius, and also believes that she must do everything in her power to prove her worth to him and Albedo or else she will be discarded.
@@anubis9151 He said it's a world item, which canonically cannot be damaged or destroyed. The only reason he caught the sword is because he didn't know 100% for sure if Razor Edge could damage another world item or not, because it can cut through anything.
So y'all can have a better grasp on the difference in power here: In the New World, there are level caps per species. The cap for pureblooded humans is projected to be LvL 30, which to this New World's rules, is The Realm of Heroes. This is where Gazef stood, right at level 30. Now with Brain and his fight with Cocytus, between the potions and his martial arts, he was able to boost his physical capabilities beyond that hard set rule and get himself to dish out an attack equivalent to a LvL 40 attack. However there is a fundamental rule about level differences and damage. To even harm a being that is LvL 100 you, yourself, HAVE to be AT LEAST LvL 60 and even then, between your LvL difference and their equipment, you might deal a single point of damage that realistically would most likely auto-regen. So that whole nail cutting bit is actually truly hype because despite all of that, he was able to make a physical change. And lets be real also its perfect for Brain to have fought against Cocytus because Cocytus is an honorable warrior who gave Brain a fitting warriors death. ANY other guardian would have just splattered him without a second thought.
I think people just ironically forgot just how strong Ainz and the NPC's if Nazarick. The scene about Brain cutting Shalltear nails was supposed to mean 3 things: 1. Brain can finally "graze" an opponent that he was thought invincible, it doesn't matter if he won or not, he done what he need to be done for her. 2. All his effort was not wasted, no matter how small is that as long you got a progress, like any runner, even 0.02 seconds more faster is still breaking a record. 3. Which also the same with Cocytus scene, it was meant that among all those "weak" humans from all Nazarick members, Brain was 1 of people that can actually graze them. Which means a lot, considering even Ainz checking Gazeff Swords when they were about to duel to make sure Gazeff sword can at least scratch Ainz. It's not about winning, but still trying to fight when your winning chance is not zero. Also the same with Zanac. It's literally everywhere in the anime, the theme is really spoon fed for audience.
I used to think people gave Renner too much credit comparing her mind to Demiurge and Albedo, but she's been running the game in the kingdom the ENTIRE time? That's impressive as hell. She was truly a demon even before the transformation
@@nogamingz2785 She was a genius since she was a child and everyone was afraid of her because of it, remember how Zanac mentioned that she stayed locked up in her room all day. Now that she joined Nazarick she finally has peers that match her intellect and is "free" for the first time in her life, free from nobles, free from the duty of princess, free to stay with Climb until the end of time. She won so hard.
She is the smartest human if nazarick didn’t show up she would have been the smartest being in the world but demiurge and albedo passes her with intelligent

5:28 That foreshadowing ...when they say to Climb that he is the "last human in the palace" yet we clearly see that Renner is still alive when he comes in, she was already turned during that scene
Oh my goodness, the Renner dancing scene wasn't in the books but oh boy do I like it. Also, the fact she's still nervous around Albedo after all the planning they did really shows her high intelligence. Secondly, I'm glad Renner and Climb are actually joining the crew, mainly because Climb is a good guy who already gets along well with Sebas. Hopefully he can continue training under him.

I mean, Climb is now a sex slave chained to that room for all eternity, Renner instead became a kind of secretary for Albedo and a very good one by the way, literally a "happily ever after" for them.
@@Elgrinn Which comment? Mine or that of the person I replied to? If you mean my comment, it was me on the other videos too (I wrote it and posted in the comments of several different overlord video reactions to this episode.)
My assumption is that the fastest is 2 years and the longest is 5 years, we should have waited for this movie to be released in theaters, because the novel itself is less than two volumes away, about 2 years at the longest in the release of the novel, not to mention the anime project and the illustration of the place/region for the arc. Next season
The Seed of the Fallen is an item that can change ones race. That was the item that changed Renner and since Albedo gave her another one as a reward it is for Climb so they can be together forever just like what Renner wanted.
Look don't feel bad that you guys miss things. That just shows how dense and enriching the world of Overlord is! From the tiniest of item callbacks to connection revelations, that's how large of a scale this world is. Yes the anime can't show all of that or we'd have each season be like 52+ episodes. But just knowing that makes what we do get a cliffnote special case.
Im still thinking theres way too few episodes per season, and for me this last one was the most notorious in that aspect. Every episode feels like it last 10 min and ur just like cmon pls give me more. T_T
@Ceroid I think you forgot opinions exist. The world building in Overlord is way above average man. The author is bored of his own work, I guess that happens when you spend that much effort into a single thing.
@Ceroid It was 4 seasons and 12 novel chapters of world building. The story didn't progress since we were learning about the world. World building doesn't mean a story has to progress.
I really wish we could have a game like Ygdrassil where u can play as any kind of races, turning dungeon into ur guild base, creating ur own npc to defend ur guild, collecting a very very very rare items like world items, and many many more.. Yep the world in overlord is actually truly magnificent. And also the naming of the characters as well as their design is truly the best. And now the Eminence in shadow is already release u guys should watch that too. It's a really great anime I love the manga very much because it's pretty similar to overlord the mc have servants that truly worship him just like how the guardians worship ainz. And he also very cool and lucky like Ainz. The Eminence in Shadow is one of the best isekai of all time to me.
and if you watch the movies that act as recaps, just like certain other anime.....they include special dialogue and scenes that wasn't in the original show that helps move the narrative.
While I wished the anime adapted Philip's last moments as described in the light novel, cause of the added Renner song and flashbacks that there wasn't enough time; but that song was so unexpected and mesmerizing that it's completely worth it.
While the power of friendship might not of helped climb win, the power of evil sure allowed renner to bring him back. At the cost of a kingdom and her humanity that is! Hopefully when you guys have some freetime in the schedule you check out Isekai Quartet. More of all the isekai characters you know and love!
Renner wanted to be an imp so she can be immortal with climb. it's really easy for her to abandon humanity. her dream after all is to be with climb having segs for eternity.
Climb's okay. It's just how exactly Renner wanted him when she was talking in season two. Whenever you're resurrected you lose a few levels. Climb (just like the Lizardmen) had to sacrifice a few levels (His 'life essence') in the New World to come back, which made him incredibly weak. He just couldn't move, (which ya'll picked up on) when Renner was talking about having sex. She was just going to straight up ride him without him being able to do anything.
Renner is my favorite Disney Princess lmao. 🤣 No but seriously she's probably my fav character so far, she's just so twisted but so cool. Edit: About Climb, the reason why he decided to pledge allegiance to Ainz is because he didn't want Renner to be alone, I mean think of it, everybody is dead, Climb has no one left but her, he decided that he would live his eternal life for her and that's exactly what Renner wanted, Climb now has no one but her, all his attention will all be for her. Edit 2: About the boxes, they're purpose is Race Change, she used the first one to change from human to Imp, and the 2nd one is for Climb, I'm not sure what the conditions are but I know that to activate it Renner poisoned all the children at the orphanage she visited. Remember right before the kingdom was invaded she went to drop off food, that's when.
I've read comments saying the conditions to change race for Renner from human to imp is to kill some people. and that happened when she poison the kids in the orphanage last episode. the last time she fed the kids is when she killed them with poison and the transformation happened when Renner tried to swing the sword like nothing.
I wonder what kind of demon climb will be or if he'll change into a different race like either dragon kin, or maybe something like ainz since he knows ainz is the strongest
Climb only ever cared about Renner anyway. The kingdom was literally less important, as he refused a royal decree from the King himself when Renner told him not to do it. The Kingdom being slaughtered likely conflicts with him on an ethical level, but as long as he can continue to "protect" Renner I'm sure he'll forget all about it.
1.The whole episode was done so well, but this scene takes the cake as arguibly the best scene in all of Overlord A mad genius of a Princess that betrayed her family as well as the kingdom that treates her like a glorified prisoner for power, immortality and her own sick fantasy; dancing to the tune of her own voice and that of the capital she spent her whole life in crumbling all around her Its a beautifull and haunting scene that wasn't even in the LN, but entirely something they added in to cap off probably the best season of the show so far. If this is the level of quality we can expect from the upcoming movie, then I am totally onboard. 2. I love how in any other show, the downfall of the Kingdom would have been the inciting incident that kickstarted the plot. But here its just a footnote. Ains even makes the joke to Climb's face telling him how this isn't that kind of anime 3. One of the prerequisites for using Seed of The Fallen (effectively a race change into an Imp) is to attain a negative karma rating. And with talk of poison and Renner serving food to both the orphan children and the women working there I think you get the picture
I liked how she sent Climb on that errand to hide the Kingdom's treasures just to buy herself time to do what she needed to do in the throne room, knowing full well that Ainz would simply raze the Kingdom anyway and sift them out of the rubble.
In the light novel Phillip and Albedo's scene is waaaay more disturbing because after she gives him that gift she takes him by the ear drags him outside and shows that she had every single one of his friends, family, neighbors, everyone in his domain and impaled their bodies and heads on pikes showing true horror before dragging him to Nazarick and having him tortured to death.
I'm pretty sure Shalltear's disguise is literally just what she would look like if she wasn't undead. Her skin and hair color is unnatural because it's the color of a dead person. It just looks so different because the original colors are so unnatural that it creates a huge disconnection from the character. Not like she doesn't do this with her design all of the time already. She's literally an evil paladin. xD
Interesting part of the novel is the Aniz fighting Climb was not part of the plan Renner took this as a threat from Aniz saying "hey i know this boy is the only thing you care about so NEVER cross me" She fears him now more than anyone cause she cannot predict him.
Renner singing is not in the light novels at all but by god it is one of the best additions to any anime I’ve ever seen. I love the light novels and I’m a bit of a purist, but that dark Disney princess addition really fucking tied the room together. I got chills.
There are 2 kinds of people who watch overlord. There’s people who seem to feel bad about what our main characters are doing, and then there’s people like me who actively root for them to massacres entire cities. Also, Princess Renner was the highlight of season 4 for me and I was rooting for her to get her twisted happy ending. The reason I like overlord is because it feels good to root for the “bad guys” for once.
Ainz and the rest of his guild have role playing standards when it comes portraying evil mastermind villains. Hence why he monologued so much during the fight and let Climb have a few attempts to attack before he cast the instant death spell. Every part was included to convince Climb that Renner had no choice but to become a demon in the end and to join her.
I hope Renner will have an album released Lmao. I like how Overlord demonstrates how humans are their own monsters. It even suggests that even contending with an overwhelming power, we could move even the most powerful being by having virtuous people enough to gain respect. Hence, Ainz and Gazef.
Using the seed to turn into a demon has some conditions, one of them she took care of, remember those children at the orphanage she was giving food to? It was poisoned, she even thanked Albedo for that poison this episode
Giving my first time to a demonic Renner or not is more conflicting to me than I thought… One thing I can say about Renner is she’s an interesting character and I’m looking forward to what she brings to Nazarick in the future.
I really want Sebas to come in the room. Like: Renner, Lady Albedo is requesting your presence. Good day Climb glad to see you're well. And then confusion of the highest order in Climb's face.
Climb: Sebas! You were forced into pledging allegiance to Ainz too? Did they resurrect you or Tuare? Why do you look the same and not like a demon? With you on our side, we could attempt to overthrow Ainz!
yeah... for climb to even have a chance to see sebas, he has first to make Renner really tired to sleep after segs and for him to have more stamina to move... but that won't happen since the author himself confirmed that Renner is a sex maniac for climb and just want climb to be her dildo and puppy lol. if Renner doesn't have anything to do at all she would just spend time having segs all day with climb... albedo can understand lol.
It’s crazy how op Renner is. She’s a new world human with intelligence that rivals Demiurge, Albedo, and Pandora’s Actor. Level 100 NPCs handcrafted to perfection.
Nazarick honored Climb with a one on one fight with Ainz. It was both leash and gift to the Golden Princess. For Renner wants to remain a shining symbol in Climb's eyes, and her role in the Falling Kingdom must remain a secret. Climb is both gift and hostage, his life only has meaning as so far as Renner is concerned. Renner arranged the stage by removing Climb from the castle in the pretense of hiding the Kingdoms' symbols. "I suddenly remembered something I have to do" a statement wholly suspect considering her intelligence. A bald faced lie spoken to her poor, ret~rded puppy. Renner, however, did not expect the leader of Nazarick to act as foil to her Climb. And the Overseer of the Floor Guardians are none too happy that the man she loves and respect should play the fool in someone else's story. She would be discarded in a heart beat should the Princess fail to meet their expectations regardless if Demiurge or Albedo initially recognized her talents. Thus the Witch of the Falling Kingdom shuddered as she realized the genius of Ainz. Her position in Nazarick is secured as long as she produces further results.
Albedo, the one who considers humans to be so far beneath the denizens of Nazarick that comparing them to insects would be insulting to Entoma, credited Renner with 90% of the invasion. Goes to show just how evil Renner was even before the invasion started
Im sure someone already pointed this out in the comments, but I just think it was funny that the ice maids at the throne room told climb that he was the last human in the palace and then in the next scene we see that renner is still there, probably saying that she was already a demon by that point. I just thought it was funny
She was already a demon by that point. Remember how she was able to swing that heavy ass sword around with ease? She was already a demon before the invasion of the kingdom.
The book series is planned to end on book 18. Book 16 was just released in Japan. Each season covers a few books each, so yes, the next season is likely to be the last since this season ended on Book 14. Books 12 and 13 dealing with the Holy Kingdom were skipped and will be covered in the upcoming movie.
Just fyi, Renner has completely bought into the Ainz is a genius among genius narrative (commonly called SASUGA AINZ SAMA among Overlord fans). During that scene with Albedo, Renner sensed simmering rage from Albedo since, as Renner put it, Ainz had to act out that silly role due to the original plan’s failure. Before, Renner and Albedo were on good terms, so Renner had planned to hold back some of her true abilities in case she needed an ace in the hole to raise her standing later on. But she felt she no longer could do so since Albedo was so pissed that she would take any small lapse as an excuse to punish Renner, possibly even kill her. Renner credited Ainz for disrupting her original plan since she thought he foresaw her plan to hold back to corner her and force her to go all out from the very beginning. The second cube is of course for Climb. Renner has already set up Climb to garner the negative karma necessary to activate the cube with her “loyalty test” comment. She proved to herself Climb’s absolute devotion to her by having him violate his own good nature just to obey her orders, running instead of protecting others, and of course, more significantly, refusing Rampossa’s offer of Climb’s heart desire with the bonus of saving his love’s life, and instead choosing to obey Renner. She’ll likely slowly ramp up his turn to the dark by having him kill criminals in cold blood under the excuse that she needs him to die to her new demon nature, and culminate in having him do the equivalent of murdering an orphanage full of kids who love and trust him to activate the cube under the guise of the “loyalty test” she said Ainz would force him to perform.
Ainz casually use Reality Slap to climb and i didnt expect original scene for renner, that scene somewhat give me eerie vibe with the lyric and i love that small detail when frozen maiden said, climb is the only human left on that kingdom
Ainz Ooal Gown didn't just destroy one town. The army of Nazarick cut a swath of destruction through the kingdom, going through towns, villages(except Carne village, of course), and basically everyone on the way to the capital. Ainz literally destroyed a kingdom to prove a point.
cant even be mad at renner she used her big brain to sell out the kingdom she was dedicated to the role i was just amazed by the time she went disney princess mode lmao
In the LN Renner's inner dialogue said that because Ainz was there to help with her little theater made her think that Ainz and Albedo are done with her bullshit and their "good will" for her its pretty much over...so from now on if Renner shows any signal of missbehavior or lack of loyalty they will kill her and Climb. Thats why she was shitting herself when Albedo showed up.
@@goji-0045 Yes..in her mind in the LN she thought that Albedo would dispose of her if she continues to take too long to get on her knee. Like i said...Renner was shitting herself because she knows how terrifying Albedo can be.
Climb finally gets to show his stuff. While futile, he at least had time to get some licks in. Gazef's "will" fought alongside him in the gifted ring, so Climb actually did get that rage "Power-up" that Ainz chided him about. Oh, and Renner went full on Disney Villainess there at the end. An exceptional episode of a great season!
6:40 ainz's monologue was a bit more personal “You will die here...you are not worth saving. You, who are without talent nor ability, do not deserve salvation. However, do not despair.” The Sorcerer King appeared to be looking at Climb, but also not at the same time. His eyes appeared to be looking somewhere far away. “This world is unequal. The inequality you experienced started the moment you were born. The birth of those with talent meant that of course, there are those born without talent. Furthermore, the environment one was born into differs. A rich family versus a poor family, even the personality of your fellow brothers and sisters matter. Those who were lucky will go on to have fulfilling lives, but those who were not, do not. However, I must reiterate, do not despair at such inequalities. The reason for this - is because death is the equalizer gifted to all. That is to say - me. Only the mercy bestowed by the ruler of death to all could be regarded as absolute equality in a world riddled with inequalities.” Climb could not understand what he was talking about at all, he was probably telling him to rest in peace the long way round.
And the End Begins means that Season 5 of Overlord will be the Final Season. Which makes sense since there are only 4 volumes left of the light novel that have yet to be adapted after the movie releases. So the Final Season will either be followed by a 2nd movie or will be 18 - 20 episodes long instead of 13.
I fished this episode last night after binging the whole show to catch up again and watch all over again with y’all! I was so excited to see y’all’s watch through I can’t wait until season 6 thanks for the amazing viewing experience!!!
"The End Begins" has 2 meanings. one is yes, next season will be the last season. the next season will be the last 3 books of the series. there is also a movie coming out that is 2 books that was skipped over during this season, just an FYI. second its a reflection back at the name of the first episode "end and beginning". also dont worry about the LN knowledge, this show does a great job of giving you bits and Easter eggs hidden throughout. I will warn everyone to watch some thumbnails on youtube cause i think somebody who has read the Japanese (original) versions of the LN have spoiled the ending of this series for me....still trying to drink that picture out of my mind.
In the novel Philip was drunk for days while albedo and others tortured and killed all the villagers. Philip also threw punches at albedo but broke his fist. His dads head was also not in the box but ask albedo before dying to make Philip regret his life
Ainz literally drops the Kirito bomb on Climb... "Power of Friendship? My Numbers (41) are Bigger than Yours." Nope, the Koyukhaku Baptism is not for "Everybody" joining Nazarick. Renner has demonstrated "Great Service and Sacrifice" by providing the conquest plan and then completing the Seed of Corruption Ritual (remember the Renner Soup?) Now she has to lead Climb through the ritual for the second Seed of Corruption to change his race from Human to Demon (Imp). Some may say that in itself is far more demanding than Koyukhaku's sessions..... Renner's 2nd Lamentation Box = [Cenobite Screaming Noises] Since the "budget" clearly went to Renner's Disney Princess moment, and this is (nominally) for TV, you can tell from the Exterior Shot of Phillip's house that there was A LOT HAPPENING there from the LN they just could NOT show..... Lets just say Vlad Tepez would be impressed.....
"Ei ei oh!" is a cheer to hype yourself or others up in Japan and is often seen or portrayed as cute and used by cute type characters. Mare is a cute, shy, pessimist type character so he is hyping himself up to do a job he could do easily regardless due to his lack of confidence.
renner deservers that amount of budget they placed in that scene. she proved herself to some of the most intelligent demons in the entire world and became a demon herself, even if she is evil, she does deserves what she achieved.
Albedo is terrifying when she shows her Evil Nature. Looks like she will have her revenge against Philip. And his own father wants him to suffer and Albedo agreed.
Some Notes from this episode (correct me if im wrong): 1. Mare given the job to annihilate and destroy the kingdom and Climb didnt get killed by him because of agreement between Renner and Sorcerer Kingdom and he afraid that he can't klll everyone that he should kill 2. The agreement start from Demiurge meet Renner in Season 2 3. The reason Renner selling out her kingdom is simple, she just want to spend time with Climb forever (doing sex and make him like a toy/loyal dog) 4. Aura trying to take back the Goat artifact from season 2 5. When Climb running with Renner, Renner she doesn't tired at all running while holding a heavy sword. This scene we can conclude Renner starting to turn into demon (Demon Imp) 6. The red orb in Ainz stomach is World Class Item and in the previous episode when you look at Fake Ainz (Pandora's Actor) there's no red orb on his stomach, that's the reason why he cant get through PDL's barrier 7. In the throne room the one who kill the King is Renner 8. In the throne room Climb looking at Albedo and Demiurge smiling, the reason they smile because both of them think Climb is so foolish 9. Albedo handpick Noble who swore loyalty to Sorcererous Kingdom, that's why there's Marquis Raeven and some noble 10. Yes, Lord Philip is dead and being tortured by Albedo by being impaled from rectum to mouth with other people (well, think of it like making a tree with a bunch of people) 11. 90% of this planned by Renner from season 2. Renner has stat lvl 5 Genius and lvl 4 Actrees and lvl 1 Imp 12. Renner actually didnt want to fully show her capabilities, but because Ainz come into the throne room to join her little play, she must show her full capabilities as to not dissappoint Ainz just like what Albedo said to her in Nazarick (she didn't expect AT ALL) 13. Fallen seed is being used to turn you into demon (in Renner case is Imp). The requirement to use this is sacrifice something with your own hands. Renner poison all the children in orphanage to fulfill this requirement and kill the king with her own hands. 14. Yes, Renner is the most fucked up character in this anime from her childhood. I mean she did all of this just because she want to have sex with Climb 15. When Climb is in front of the throne room, the frost virgin said he is the "last human in this palace". Which means Renner is already a demon Imp 16. Someone ask the author "if Climb join Nazarick then can he meet Sebas?". The author answered "Yes, IF he can get out of that room". This implied that Climb will never ever leave that forever because of Renner The Movie will be about Holy Kingdom vs Jaldabaoth arc. This one truly scary especially New Sword that will appear in this movie And Light Novel almost end (i think the authour said it will end in volume 18) and this episode actually adaptation from volume 14, so after this for Season will be adapted from volume 15 and 16 (Half-Elf God Kin) and so on.
The fact that a lot of the 'bigshot' humans just seem to die very matter of factly could be explained as 'they know they are gonna die', but rather than being dragged into the arena for an execution, they walk into the fight head held high towards that destiny and welcoming it. Same end result, but it's choice on how to approach it.
Bukubukuchagama: Bubblebubbleteapot is the creator of Aura and Mare. I personally theorize that she had a crush on Momonga (Ainz) because she gave him a watch that if set to certain times would have her lewdly moan the numbers. Like: ii-kyu! ii-kyu! (19:19) in Japanese sonds like: "I Come! I Come!". Fun fact, that's the same watch Ainz gave Aura and forbade her from setting anything for certain times like that.
hey roshi, just some additional info here.. just found out in other TH-cam comments too... the box given to Renner at episode 1 was a race change item, it can change her human race into the demon race class imp. just like albedo. but for that to happen some conditions had to be met. remember the orphanage? at episode 12 the last time they went to it Renner fed all the kids and caretakers there with poisoned food... yeah the condition is to kill certain numbers for her to change race... and when she wielded the sword for a swing that was just her confirming her race change attributes... please pin? Edit: oh yeah, climbs fate is not just a segs pet for Renner. Author confirms that for climb to even have a chance to find sebas, he first has to survive and has energy from tenners segs time. Cause if he can't he ain't getting out of that room.
In reference to the opening, there are many little things in the light novel that aren't exactly clear as well, only after reading, re-reading, and putting together pieces you can get the entire picture. Even then, there are many things that go completely unexplained. That's one of the things about that story in general that you either like or hate.
Brain peaked around level 40 before he died. That's less than all the Pleiades battle maids. He had no chance against the heavy hitters of Nazerick. The poisoned food Renner mentioned was the stuff she fed to the orphanage last episode. The 'key' to unlocking the "you're now a demon" box is sacrifices. This was foreshadowed in how she handled the sword, and how the ice monster called Climb the "last human" - Renner was already more than/less than human, and killing her pops was the final step. As for Philip...in the LN Albedo went Vlad in Impaler on the entire barony - everyone staked through ass to mouth. Too gory for the anime. I was hoping to see Mare in action, but it saves on budget. He basically used his top-tier Earthquake spell again and again, so yeah: rocks fell, everyone died.
the dog maid raise climb as she has a healer classes. you see her talk before he woke up with the woof :P climb just weak like the lizard men when raised. so climb was covered because renner said before to her brother , she not mind if he died as then she can pamper him and no one could talk back because he died for her. aura robbing the magic guild to get items for azin collection but also to recover that statue they left behind in season 2 that ainz gave demurie, the gaotman statue protoype that could summon demons which was made by demuire's maker.
This season was fire!

Climb anti hero arc?
next anime: DRIFTERS AND ASSASSINATION CLASSROOM, recommendation.
I didnt catch that wow

Renner dancing and singing the way she did was technically "anime-only," but it actually is a very smart way to adapt a part of the narration for her state of mind at that part of the novel.
To quote the passage in question:
“
Her dream of the past was minuscule.
”
The anime also turned the thought about only having to sacrifice the kingdom into a spoken line and turned the description of her euphoria into actions to make it understandable and better felt.
THIS entire scene is a prime example of what a good adaptation should be.

Ya honestly it was a perfect way to capture the moment and to adapt it to anime in an original manner while still remaining true to the source material

Everyone attacks Ainz's red orb thinking it's his weak stop. It's literally the strongest thing he has on hand.
The thing is, it looks like his heart so they think it's a weak spot. Most people don't even know world items are a thing as well.
Being his strongest card doesn't mean it's not fragile though. It should have at least some good resistance though.
@@anubis9151 True but that's most likely not why they attack it.
@@anubis9151 He said it's a world item, which canonically cannot be damaged or destroyed. The only reason he caught the sword is because he didn't know 100% for sure if Razor Edge could damage another world item or not, because it can cut through anything.
What does that orb do ?
I think this is also because thats how the Players balanced it the the WI Six Elements Overcome and that there are no exp sources.
I think people just ironically forgot just how strong Ainz and the NPC's if Nazarick.
The scene about Brain cutting Shalltear nails was supposed to mean 3 things:

Ainz: "I am quite satisfied with the results."
Bro I would be too if *my* plans which *I* didn't know half of worked out in the end

No but seriously she's probably my fav character so far, she's just so twisted but so cool.

1.The whole episode was done so well, but this scene takes the cake as arguibly the best scene in all of Overlord
A mad genius of a Princess that betrayed her family as well as the kingdom that treates her like a glorified prisoner for power, immortality and her own sick fantasy; dancing to the tune of her own voice and that of the capital she spent her whole life in crumbling all around her
Its a beautifull and haunting scene that wasn't even in the LN, but entirely something they added in to cap off probably the best season of the show so far.
If this is the level of quality we can expect from the upcoming movie, then I am totally onboard.
2. I love how in any other show, the downfall of the Kingdom would have been the inciting incident that kickstarted the plot.
But here its just a footnote.
Ains even makes the joke to Climb's face telling him how this isn't that kind of anime
Holy fucking shit, the Naruto music with the Hanzos cheering ABSOLUTELY KILLED me.
It’s such a fitting song, too. Could be a yandere anthem, I love the lyrics! And it playing while we revisit her plotting and betrayal is just art.

Ainz casually use Reality Slap to climb
and i didnt expect original scene for renner, that scene somewhat give me eerie vibe with the lyric
and i love that small detail when frozen maiden said, climb is the only human left on that kingdom
You know what's funny? Renner losing her virginity first before Albedo does.
To become a Demon Princess Renner Gave Poisoned Food to all the Orphans as a sacrifice
To think that princess Renner did all that for some Climbussy...
Lmaoo the thumbnail, roshi: 😲 lupa: 😱 and then there's Sheera: 😐
Ainz Ooal Gown didn't just destroy one town. The army of Nazarick cut a swath of destruction through the kingdom, going through towns, villages(except Carne village, of course), and basically everyone on the way to the capital.
Ainz literally destroyed a kingdom to prove a point.
Renner was so happy she could sing and dance. she was half mad from the bliss
cant even be mad at renner she used her big brain to sell out the kingdom she was dedicated to the role i was just amazed by the time she went disney princess mode lmao
Curb your Shonen protagonist...Overlord in a nutshell🤣🤣
In the LN Renner's inner dialogue said that because Ainz was there to help with her little theater made her think that Ainz and Albedo are done with her bullshit and their "good will" for her its pretty much over...so from now on if Renner shows any signal of missbehavior or lack of loyalty they will kill her and Climb. Thats why she was shitting herself when Albedo showed up.
Wait was she missbehaving when albedo showed up?
@@goji-0045 Yes..in her mind in the LN she thought that Albedo would dispose of her if she continues to take too long to get on her knee. Like i said...Renner was shitting herself because she knows how terrifying Albedo can be.
Climb finally gets to show his stuff. While futile, he at least had time to get some licks in. Gazef's "will" fought alongside him in the gifted ring, so Climb actually did get that rage "Power-up" that Ainz chided him about. Oh, and Renner went full on Disney Villainess there at the end. An exceptional episode of a great season!
6:40 ainz's monologue was a bit more personal
“You will die here...you are not worth saving. You, who are without talent nor ability, do not deserve salvation. However, do not despair.”
The Sorcerer King appeared to be looking at Climb, but also not at the same time.
Only the mercy bestowed by the ruler of death to all could be regarded as absolute equality in a world riddled with inequalities.”
Climb could not understand what he was talking about at all, he was probably telling him to rest in peace the long way round.
Oh thank GOD they’re gonna cover the Sacred Kingdom, that is gonna be one hellish movie
I fished this episode last night after binging the whole show to catch up again and watch all over again with y’all! I was so excited to see y’all’s watch through I can’t wait until season 6 thanks for the amazing viewing experience!!!
Renner already one of the best characters in Overlord
Can't wait for the movie and the next season. Also I really want an Overlord musical now
"The End Begins" has 2 meanings. one is yes, next season will be the last season. the next season will be the last 3 books of the series. there is also a movie coming out that is 2 books that was skipped over during this season, just an FYI. second its a reflection back at the name of the first episode "end and beginning".
also dont worry about the LN knowledge, this show does a great job of giving you bits and Easter eggs hidden throughout. I will warn everyone to watch some thumbnails on youtube cause i think somebody who has read the Japanese (original) versions of the LN have spoiled the ending of this series for me....still trying to drink that picture out of my mind.
cant wait for the movie. Ainz and demuirge playing with the Holy Kingdom.
My Numbers (41) are Bigger than Yours."
Nope, the Koyukhaku Baptism is not for "Everybody" joining Nazarick.
Renner's 2nd Lamentation Box = [Cenobite Screaming Noises]
Since the "budget" clearly went to Renner's Disney Princess moment, and this is (nominally) for TV, you can tell from the Exterior Shot of Phillip's house that there was A LOT HAPPENING there from the LN they just could NOT show..... Lets just say Vlad Tepez would be impressed.....
Ngl Renner had a better performance than most Disney princess in 3 years 💀
Dude, Climb was running in full plate armour across the capital. The bleeding was minor in comparison to his tolerance
They turned Climb into Renner's personal table.
I bet
If there is a winner this season, its definitely her.
Albedo is terrifying when she shows her Evil Nature. Looks like she will have her revenge against Philip. And his own father wants him to suffer and Albedo agreed.
renner is the GOAT. her singing gave me goosebumps
Some Notes from this episode (correct me if im wrong):
1. Mare given the job to annihilate and destroy the kingdom and Climb didnt get killed by him because of agreement between Renner and Sorcerer Kingdom and he afraid that he can't klll everyone that he should kill
2. The agreement start from Demiurge meet Renner in Season 2
3. The reason Renner selling out her kingdom is simple, she just want to spend time with Climb forever (doing sex and make him like a toy/loyal dog)
4. Aura trying to take back the Goat artifact from season 2
5. When Climb running with Renner, Renner she doesn't tired at all running while holding a heavy sword. This scene we can conclude Renner starting to turn into demon (Demon Imp)
6. The red orb in Ainz stomach is World Class Item and in the previous episode when you look at Fake Ainz (Pandora's Actor) there's no red orb on his stomach, that's the reason why he cant get through PDL's barrier
7. In the throne room the one who kill the King is Renner
8. In the throne room Climb looking at Albedo and Demiurge smiling, the reason they smile because both of them think Climb is so foolish
9. Albedo handpick Noble who swore loyalty to Sorcererous Kingdom, that's why there's Marquis Raeven and some noble
10. Yes, Lord Philip is dead and being tortured by Albedo by being impaled from rectum to mouth with other people (well, think of it like making a tree with a bunch of people)
11. 90% of this planned by Renner from season 2. Renner has stat lvl 5 Genius and lvl 4 Actrees and lvl 1 Imp
12. Renner actually didnt want to fully show her capabilities, but because Ainz come into the throne room to join her little play, she must show her full capabilities as to not dissappoint Ainz just like what Albedo said to her in Nazarick (she didn't expect AT ALL)
I mean she did all of this just because she want to have sex with Climb
15. When Climb is in front of the throne room, the frost virgin said he is the "last human in this palace". Which means Renner is already a demon Imp
16. Someone ask the author "if Climb join Nazarick then can he meet Sebas?". The author answered "Yes, IF he can get out of that room". This implied that Climb will never ever leave that forever because of Renner
The Movie will be about Holy Kingdom vs Jaldabaoth arc. This one truly scary especially New Sword that will appear in this movie
And Light Novel almost end (i think the authour said it will end in volume 18) and this episode actually adaptation from volume 14, so after this for Season will be adapted from volume 15 and 16 (Half-Elf God Kin) and so on.
Ains was posted up on the throne at the end like the character from saints row iv from the beginning.
One of those rare times when the Yandere gets everything she wants.
sad news: overlord anime will provabally finnish with next season. Theres only a couple books left till the story concludes
It’s the words she says while singing that matters.
the dog maid raise climb as she has a healer classes. you see her talk before he woke up with the woof :P climb just weak like the lizard men when raised. so climb was covered because renner said before to her brother , she not mind if he died as then she can pamper him and no one could talk back because he died for her.
aura robbing the magic guild to get items for azin collection but also to recover that statue they left behind in season 2 that ainz gave demurie, the gaotman statue protoype that could summon demons which was made by demuire's maker.
