    How could you tour this boat without mentioning who designed this beauty? A classic from Robert Perry!

    Great looking boat for a couple. I personally always like to inspect the hull; the rudder did not appear skeg hung and I was curious about the prop used, bow thruster?? Thanks for next time.

    Nice condition and high quality boat. The space appears to not used very efficiently though. For a 50ft boat, it is really only for a couple with maybe one smaller kid. Looking in comparison at a boat like Delos, which is a 53ft Amel Super Maramu, they are worlds apart when it comes to room and usage of it.

    Possibly the nicest monohull (or any) boat you've covered...truly turnkey ready. The only thing I could think of to make her any better, would be a bow thruster, for shorthanded sailing.

      He covered a Pacific Seacraft which was prettier I think. This looks like more of a motorsailer to me. It is kind of tubby with a lot of freeboard.

    2 things for me to make it perfect. 1 loose the space eating canoe stern, and 2. A boat this size would be so much nicer if it were a center cockpit. It’s not a racing boat. Why sit at the extreame stern with the reduced visibility and extreme exposure to the sea. Racers do this for the sail trim visibility, but not needed for a cruising boat. I have owned 2 aft cockpit and 2 center cockpit boats and the center far superior, better accommodations, much better engine access. Better storage and tankage. But yes, a beautiful boat, it that’s the style you want.
    Take a look at TH-cam channel Sailing Delos when they were in the southern oceans W of Cape Hope in extreme weather. They were fully protected in an in closed cocpit. Invaluable. Then take a look at Sweet Ruca in bad conditions, totally exposed and getting absolutely soaked with freezing water and knocked about by seas. Freezing, wet, exposed. A properly designed center cockpit for me. I’ll leave the racing to the racers. And speaking of speed. Why have 10 feet of overhang and waterline and space loss?

      So is that a hard NO for you? 😅

    • @fredread9216
      @fredread9216 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@danieloliver20 I love the valiants. (Except for the older blister issues). They are well built and capable. But for my money. The above issues above are addressed and fulfilled by other boats such as the Amel. And another boat that addresses most of the issues is the Kelly Peterson 46. Also the 44. Hylas 48 another. So, to more directly answer your question, if I had the money to spend an a boat of this general size or displacement area I would choose others first. But it’s certainly a lovely and capable boat. Given other choices a hard no.

    I think this beautiful blue water cruiser was previously owned by either a doctor,lawyer oran architect as it has been meticulously cared for.
    I'll bet she is close to her appraisal value and will take you to all corners of the world.

      Yeah I get that, but I see the appeal. How much time is spent where cruisers ACTUALLY host guests vs just having an empty cabin taking up valuable interior real estate.

    • @LearningtheLines
      @LearningtheLines  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I assume davits would be for when anchored (no windvane needed) and the dinghy goes on the deck cradle on a passage, which is the safest way to use them. Then you could use the windvane on the passage.

    How many people are supposed to be able to dine at that tiny table? Even with the leaves up it doesn't look like it could accommodate more than 3 people eating at the same time. It doesn't look like the table would extend far enough to reach the settee on the starboard side at all. Are there extra leaves?

    Beautiful boat from a great designer a d a stunning build and condition. Wouldn’t be for me, only one head on a 50’ and no really nice owners cabin. Not a lover of V berths. I’m sure someone will love this boat though, certainly a go anywhere yacht.

      Valiant 50 an expensive daysailer? You might be the first and only human to ever make that statement. Ordinarily I’d applaud marching to your own drummer, but in this case I suspect your way off base. So please elaborate, you can’t leave a comment like that hanging without clarifying

    well i can tell this yacht is definitely not a real go any anywhere boat at all for its a fiberglass hull and if any knows anything about fiberglass hulls there are places they ccan not go at all only a yacht with a steal or at less a aluminum hulls are able to go anywhere that even fiberglass are not able go to. for those who do not know what i am talking about go look it up for your self the diffrences of fiberglass and steal hulls are for i am not going through telling what the diffrences are here its for you go look it up.

    Beautiful, but! Where is the accommodation? A V-berth and a quarter berth in a boat this size! It is hardly a family boat, not even for a weekend tour, but is sold as a blue water cruiser and it is just not fit for more than a couple with occasional friend on visit, in my opinion. Also note, if you like this type of monohul, you can buy a Rustler 44 brand new for this same base price, and for sure got more accommodation below, even though it is a shorter boat. In the real world a long monohul is not always, what you need. Two obvious disadvantages of a longer hull for instance is, that you will pay higher docking prices wherever you go and another not much talked thing is, that here in Europe all nations has high demands for skipper licenses, if you sail a boat of a certain length, anyone really. Here in Denmark all boats over 49 feet demands a skipper license to sail single handed or even ensure at all, and is essentially a year long education and not cheap at all.

    Poorly designed interior - not much space for a family on a boat of this size. Much more room on a Hartley Fijian 48ft.

    • @LearningtheLines
      @LearningtheLines  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's designed for a specific person/couple that wants larger spaces rather than having their living areas broken up into multiple cabins/heads that don't get used. Also, only one head means you only need to maintain one head, and less thru hulls as well.

    • @Kysushanz
      @Kysushanz 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@LearningtheLines Yeah, OK; for what is is designed for - it is a great little boat. But, the design severely hampers its appeal/resale to others. Certainly well fitted out and looks real shipshape.
