My dog loves sticks too 😊 I have a desk like that I bought 8 or so years ago from a charity shop, I had every intention of doing it up but sadly I became ill and now I am unable too so it is really nice too see yours done. (Mine is far worse condition noe thanks to youngest child 🤦). North East here too 👋👋
I’m so sorry to hear of your illness. Sending love and well wishes that you feel better ❤️🩹 and can work on your desk too very soon. North East is a wonderful place. Where abouts are you? 👋
@@McCluskeyRestorations I am in Washington not sure if you know it. Unfortunately it is not a condition that will get better but it's ok got used to it now sadly desk will never be done but maybe one day one of the kids will want to (not holding my breath 🤣🤣)
@@polgarauk5606 Yes I have been to the Washington Wetland Centre many times with my children back in the day. Lovely place. Oh I’m really sorry. You should drop me a message on Facebook and send me some pics of the desk. I’d love to work on another sometime.
Looks a lot like my first grade desk from 1954. A left over from years before and newer desks were in great demand because of the "booming babies". A great job. A suggestion on the clamping: place a piece of scrap wood between the jaws of the clamp and the piece you're gluing to minimize impressions. Narragansett Bay
Thank you. That’s very kind. I’m taking all feedback onboard. I’m new to editing so it’s a learning curve. Woodworking is much easier than technology 😂
Hi! I am a new subscriber, and I really enjoy your videos! However, the audio portion is driving me crazy. I have to turn the volume way up to hear you speak, and then the music comes on, and it SO loud, so I have to quickly turn it down. I've lost count on how many times I've had to adjust my volume, and it gets tiring after a while. Other than that, you do beautiful work, and I'd like to continue to watch them. Thank you!
Thank you for watching and subscribing. I’ve taken note of this. I’m new to editing, please watch my newest video and hopefully you’ll see that I listen to feedback. Apologies
Is there a list of materials you used? You've inspired me to have a go at restoring a school desk found in a greenhouse given to me recently. It's covered in green paint of a certain vintage. I fell in love with it! ❤ What do I use to remove the old peeling paint?
Hello, love that I inspired you. For paint removal you could use paint stripper and a scraper to get the thick of it off. Another way would be to use a heat gun and scraper. Clean with white spirits. After it’s dry… sand sand and sand… work your way up from 60 grit to 240. I have a more recent video of a school desk if you look on my TH-cam homepage. Best of luck and enjoy! P.s. don’t forget to wear a safety mask and gloves.
Yep 👍🏼 see previous comments. It’s noted. Please see my new video and you’ll see that I’ve taken the feedback onboard. Learner video maker here but I’m grateful for the feedback 😊
I can do something about the music on my next video. Thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately I can’t change my voice, I wish I could… I’d definitely choose Julia Roberts voice instead.
@@McCluskeyRestorations There's nothing wrong with your voice, it's just overpowered by the music, and it sounds like the mic is too far away. Thanks for the video and for sharing it with us. : )
Lovely piece of restoration. Personally I love the NE accent, then again I am a Scotsman. I would agree music, particularly volume was a distraction, but I will say the content of the video was excellent. Keep on going.

Love this! Thank you so much. Will definitely take the advice on the clamping.
I like the music ! Maybe just turn it down or select music that has the same timbre of your tone, which is very pleasing.

Wow, what beautiful desk.
Thank you for watching 😊
You've done a really lovely job on the vintage desk, I actually sat at desk just like that at school. I look forward to seeing more of your projects.
Thank you so much for your kind comment. The desk went to a head teacher of a school as a retirement gift. She loves it.
Thanks for watching 😊
Outstanding work 👍👍

@McCluskeyRestorations Thank you so much for replying. Do you do any hands-on weekend or week-long courses in furniture restoration for beginners?
Great video have just subbed👍👍
Thank you so much Stephen. Much appreciated. 😊
Hi, great video. Currently restoring a two seater desk (great for cheating! 😉) can you tell me where you got the big round brush from please? 👍🏼
Ha ha! Thank you so much. The brush is from Amazon. Type in “Paint Wax Brush for Painting or Waxing Furniture Home Decor” 🙌
Found it, ordered. Thank you for replying, appreciate it. J
Mine addiction was sticks and balls
And what does your dog like? 😉
Hi, channel ok but please drop the music, tell us more whats happening regards why ,did you miss out stain on right hand side ??
i'm gonna be a little embarrassing i know is been awhile but i cant remember what the holes is for?
Ha ha 🤣 I think it’s either an ink well or could be where you hide your sherbet…
👍❣🇺🇸
nice job, but your microphone is too low to hear you.
I like your videos; but the music is loud and you speak so softly…
Thank you, I will sort that out for the next one. I’m new to video editing so appreciate the feedback.
The music is 3 times louder than muffled voice

No writing on the school desk? Looks suspicious for me 😊😊😊.
😂 very suspicious indeed!
Nice work, but the video is flipped left to right.
Thank you. I’ve since learned how to switch it the correct way 😂
Pity that you didn’t work harder on fixing that split wood, spoilt the whole look.
Clearly didn’t watch till the end!
The music is so annoying. Can you speak a bit louder. Sounds like a mouse
