I can't express how grateful and happy I am, to find these series of lecture.. quite a long time ago I bought a copy of al muwatta, and I've searched and seacrhed on youtube, for the syarh of this book, and the result was zero.. and there's no asatidz in my country has ever talked about this book either... so, let me send my gratitude to Allah, whom showed me this way, alhamdulillaah.. and then to sheikh and all AMAU team who were involved, jazaakumullaahu khayraan, may Allah reward all of you with goodness in this world and hereafter..

As a tunisian who lives in the UK it's hard to study the maliki madhab due to the amount of sufi teachers there are and alhamdullilah ustadh who's a man of the sunnah is going through alhamdullilah

A “sufi” isn’t a “sufi” unless he is on Quran and Sunnah so not sure I understand your comment
Study the aqeedah of the salaf from the ulema like shaykh salih bin fawzan al fawzan and you'll understand.
Fiqh can be taught and learned without getting into aqida

37:00 before ustaad mentioned who the person was, i had guessed it would be Sheikh Abdul Razzak al Badr. I had only watched a few clips of him Rahimahullah. Yet I have liked him so much and been so awed by his mannerism and how he speaks.

Is Abdulrahman Hassan a Maliki? I'm trying to figure out which madhab I would want to follow and am thinking of the Maliki or Hanbali schools
he's a shafi' in fiqh
He is Somali which 100% follow the Shafi'e fiqh
If you are a layman, following a madhab is not really required. All 4 of the madhabs are ok, Imam Ahmed ibn Hanbal took from Shafii, Shafii took from Malik. I'd suggest yoy follow what your local imam follows until you can discern for yourself after you've acquired more knowledge
Follow the maddhab of whatever place you live, thats the best thing for you
@@khaitul I would agree, but as a revert in America, I have more problems than that. Most of the Muslims around me are Hanafi Pakistani and Pashtu, or Shafi Palestinian and Egyptian.
The problem is, I feel uncomfortable with the Hanafi Madhab (and that comes from my lack of knowledge, because I know they're upon the Sunnah and acceptable.) but even if I did want to pursue these Madhahibs, they are no qualified people around me to teach it.

Imam Nasai said shuba hajja, Malik Anas and yahya said qahtan are at the gates of ppl of hadith!
ibn Mubarak said I never saw anyone raised like Sh Malik, not known for excessive prayer or fasting.
Sh. ebn Hanbal said imam of fiqh and hadith is Imam Malik.
Golden chain is Ebn Hanbal to Shafi to Malik to Nafi to ebn Umar is the golden chain.

In Muwatta and couple with ibn Abdul Barr 's sharr there is deep fiqh.
Sufyan ebn Uyaynah said Rahimahullah Imam Malik who choose narrators to extent imam Shafi thought Muwatta is best hadith book of it's time, this is before Sahih Bukhari.
Ebn Taymiyyah said Imam Shafi said right. but ebn Taymiyyah thinks all of Muwatta is Sahih AbdurRahman HAsan says.
Ibn Abdul Barr says just sticking to Imam Malik's athar is enough.

His great grandfather wed into Taym ebn Murrah or Abu Bakr's tribe.
In Kitab Siyam Bukhari mentions, ebn Shihab Zuri (imam of Malik) is Malik is mawla bani Taym.

Imam Malik was upset of this, he called Ebn Isaac a Dujaal. (the historian).
Malik ebn Anas born 93 hjrah year Anas ebn Malik passed who met Abu Hanifah.
Alot of imams aren't fathers of scholars.
uncle abu Suhaib Nafi and Rabiya Nathr. His brother was nathr.
His father sat him down and asked him a question, Malik got it wrong so this is when he said I should search knowledge.
Before they would say Malik is brother of Nathr.... then after Malik became knowlegable they would say Mathr is brother of Malik.
His mother taught manners to Malik.

Abu Hanifah studied under Hammad ebn Sulayman and he didn't have much hadith.
Ahl Rai are called ahl Rai due to smaller hadith they used logic and qiyas more.
Ahl HAdith weren't as strong in ijtihad due to more hadith vs Ahl Ra'i who had to use it more often, Hanafi mathhab goes into this more.
Malik at age 21 was being asked fatwa in Medina.
It was time of Jafar ebn Mansur.
at 9 Imam Malik was asked a question by his father, he got it wrong and his brother got it right... Imam Malik said this caused me to be serious in my learning.
ppl stood in awe of him.
his speech was calculated, a man asked him a question and he laughed, and at times ppl's family and peers respect.
He says Sh. AbdurRazzaq ebn Abdul Mohsin al Abbad is similar.
Malik was tall, he wore white, his beard was white, he didn't cut his mustache save what's on his lips, and had a straight back.
said shaving mustache is mutiliatalion.
if he narrated a hadith, he would shower, oil & dress up.

His eyesight was sharp.
Bishr Harith & others said those in his gathering would not look other way.
He would know a foreigner. No one would talk or leave w/o asking.
Hisham ebn Amar came to Imam Malik, Amar would sell his garden to him.
Imam Malik would have hadith read to him and he would comment.
Hisham ebn Amar was whipped as he didn't know ettiquette and spoke loudly, then Hisham told his story and Malik said I will give you a hadith for every Iash.
He became a Sh. for imam Bukhari.

Layth ebn Saad sents to Imam Malik saying what about Sufyan Thawri etc.
says don't use a universal sign to say truth is restricted to this. doesn't mean truth is restricted to the 4 mathabs.
Imam Shafi read the entire Muwatta to Imam Malik.
says if you don't go to general classes how can you ask for private lessons.
