There's a hadith that states that leaving Asr is like losing wealth and family.
Here if someone says that leaving wealth and family isn't equal to Kufr (hell forever), how do you respond?

This is one of the Topic where Imam Shafii and Imam Ahmed had a debate. Those who influenced by Hanbali scholars say Imam Ahmed won the debate, those from Shafiis say Imam Shafii won the debate.
But when we see objectively it was the outcome we came to know how to debate when there is difference of opinion. I personally see Imam Shafii had more of hikma in this topic and dealt lenient way.
Yeah even though I follow Shafi’i madhab I lean towards Ahmad Ibn Hanbal Rahimahullah on this matter. May Allah reward them both for their ijtihad

my dear brother, this claimed debate between imam al shafi'i and imam Ahmad has no isnad, it's a lie, and it's used to throw fog at tens of authentic narrations from the companions who believed that the ones who leaves salah is a kafir.
@@AbdullahBinAhmadd What are the tens of authentic narrations? There's the one by Abdullah Ibn Shaqeeq which Ustadh Abdulrahman Hassan mentions here, the ones who follow the opinion of the majority, that it is not major kufr, say that the kufr being referred to in this narration is not the kufr that takes you out of the fold of Islam, similar to the hadith where the Prophet, sallahu alayhi wa salam, says killing a muslim is kufr. I'm curious what are the other narrations you're referring to barakAllahu feek.

5. ٢٧٣ - حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ مَخْلَدٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَحْمَدَ، يَقُولُ: " إِذَا قَالَ: لَا أُصَلِّي، فَهُوَ كَافِرٌ "
6. ٢٧٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نَصْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كُرْدِيٍّ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ قَالَ: نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ ⦗٦٥٤⦘ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ مَعْقِلِ بْنِ مَعْقِلٍ الْخَثْعَمِيِّ قَالَ: أَتَى رَجُلٌ عَلِيًّا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَهُوَ فِي الرَّحَبَةِ قَالَ: يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، مَا تَرَى فِي الْمَرْأَةِ لَا تُصَلِّي؟ فَقَالَ: " مَنْ لَمْ يُصَلِّ فَهُوَ كَافِرٌ قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: هَذِهِ السُّنَنُ وَالْآثَارُ فِي تَرْكِ الصَّلَاةِ وَتَضْيِيعِهَا مَعَ مَا لَمْ نَذْكُرْهُ مِمَّا يَطُولُ بِهِ الْكِتَابُ، مِثْلُ حَدِيثِ حُذَيْفَةَ وَقَوْلُهُ لِرَجُلٍ لَمْ يُتِمَّ صَلَاتَهُ " لَوْ مَاتَ هَذَا، لَمَاتَ عَلَى غَيْرِ فِطْرَةِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمِثْلُهُ عَنْ بِلَالٍ وَغَيْرِهِ، مَا يَدُلُّ عَلَى أَنَّ الصَّلَاةَ مِنَ الْإِيمَانِ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يُصَلِّ فَلَا إِيمَانَ لَهُ وَلَا إِسْلَامَ قَدْ سَمَّى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فِي كِتَابِهِ الصَّلَاةَ: إِيمَانًا، وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ النَّاسَ كَانُوا يُصَلُّونَ إِلَى بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ، إِلَى أَنْ حُوِّلُوا إِلَى الْكَعْبَةِ وَمَاتَ قَوْمٌ عَلَى ذَلِكَ، فَلَمَّا ⦗٦٥٥⦘ حُوِّلَتِ الْقِبْلَةُ إِلَى الْكَعْبَةِ قَالَ قَوْمٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، فَكَيْفَ بِمَنْ مَاتَ مِنْ إِخْوَانِنَا مِمَّنْ كَانَ يُصَلِّي إِلَى بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ؟ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ {وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيُضِيعَ إِيمَانَكُمْ} [البقرة: ١٤٣] يَعْنِي صَلَاتَكُمْ إِلَى بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ
if you take a look at any of the books of the salaf, they will generally have a section where they refute murji'a, and they generally mention narrations and ijmaa's upon the kufr of the one who does not pray.

Where is the issue of depression and salah? Where is the depressed mind not doing what Allah SWA requires him to do?
The issue is that you are like a AI who can only give what x y z said but you can't think outside the box

Speaking as a person who didnt pray for years, has severe ocd, and a lot of trials. From one Muslim to another, wallahi, I swear by god, that for the 5 prayers, hold on to them. Even if it hurts, even if it burns, even if its like holding onto roses, their thorns ripping into you, hold on to your salah.
And you will NEVER pray all 5 consistently until you engrave in your head that this isn't a option. That its a matter of life or death. Thats its oxygen or none. Even if you're committing zina, even if you're committing sodomy, even if you're the lowest of the low, that salah is that link between you and allah.
Take that first step, pray the salah that's in, and then the next and the next. You know yourself. Dont lie to yourself. I did for years. You KNOW yourself. You know. You know that you can do it. Yet you let shaytan whisper here and there. There are people who don't have legs praying. People who have disabilities praying. Reverts and born muslims who live in a impure household with dogs and pork and everything haram that just to pray they have to take a shower to rinse off any najasah and pray. And then go back out. People who have to pray in secret, away from everyone and making sure no one knows because if they do their lives will be in danger.
Allah does not give a soul beyond that which it can bear. you can bear this trial, that's why allah gave you it. And not the disability of millions others like deafness, or muteness or downs syndrome etc. Thats why you don't have a leg missing and they do. And others dont have depression yet have no money.
Look inside yourself. Stop making excuses. Sit down, take out notebook and GENUILLY start talking to yourself. Rip yourself apart. Bring all that uncomfy feelings to the surface. I guarantee there is A LOT. Do it right now or tonight. Its ramadan take advantage of it. Wallahi, after just a couple of days of praying consistently, and rewiring your brain, telling it there is no option with this, you'll find yourself praying like its another limb. You have the capability. Its you who is getting in your own way. And its not going to change until YOU decide to change. Until YOU say enough is enough. Until YOU say YOUR in control. Until YOU say NO to shaytan and your nafs. Until YOU get UP and make that wudu. Until YOU enter prayer. And until YOU make that effort. And then you will find the help of Allah surrounding you.
"Verily, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves." - Quran 13:11
And remember the famous hadith where allah said in sahih bukhari
"....and if he comes one span nearer to Me, I go one cubit nearer to him; and if he comes one cubit nearer to Me, I go a distance of two outstretched arms nearer to him; and if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running"
Show that effort. Get up. Pray. As you're reading this, don't respond. First get up and pray. First go and make that ghusul if need be. Go and make that wudu. It'll only take 5 min for ghusul and 2 for wudu. Go. Allah gave you 1440 minutes a day. You can't even spare 10 of them for allah? 30 min total for the whole day? You can't make time for the one who CREATED time? Do you see how crazy that sounds?
