@@justcandace5701 It's not the Benzos causing it. A lot of Docs prescribe benzos to help with tinnitus. Exposure to loud sounds, Depression, stress and anxiety can cause tinnitus to worsen if you already have it or cause it itself. Do you take Buspar or Buspirone? That can also cause tinnitus

    • @danielk0106
      @danielk0106 5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

Doctor dropped my Buspar down to 2.5 MG a day so we will see. I was taking 15mg to start 3x5mg daily then went to 10mg 2x5mg daily then to 5mg daily. I take .25 xanax in the morning and one .25 at bed time to help me fall asleep with the tinnitus.
I just have to pray my anxiety doesn't return. He said if this doesn't stop or ease the tinnitus he will try something else. Told him I refuse to take 90% of any anti-depressant because of the side effects. Paxil made me feel like I was going crazy and then I had suicidal thoughts but never acted on them. I just threw the pills in the trash and said NO MORE.
I think my tinnitus is the cause of my anxiety and mild depression instead of my anxiety and mild depression causing the tinnitus. Reading on tinnitus it can cause those symptoms.

My only wish is to hear what silence feels like.... 🥺🥺

    • @pixelguy9922
      @pixelguy9922 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1012

I got some solace from realizing that the "silence" I've lost never existed in the first place. If your tinnitus disappeared completely, you still wouldn't have "quiet", you would simply have "quieter". Anyone with perfect hearing with no tinnitus still won't hear "silence" when they plug their ears. They still hear the constant inner sounds of the body, bloodflow, etc. They just don't think of it.
The only real difference is how one emotionally reacts to the sounds. Sure, my tinnitus noise is louder than what non-tinnitus people hear when they try to sleep for instance; but when you realize that curing your tinnitus would simply mean "quieter" instead of "quiet", you can start the process of getting better.
Because there is no tinnitus cure that will take away your tinnitus completely. But there are methods that can relieve and improve the tinnitus symtoms (making your tinnitus quieter), like meditation, habitation, mindset, etc. And while some people might say that improving the symptom isn't a cure since it doesn't bring you "silence", I'd say that it's pretty darn close considering a real cure wouldn't bring you "silence" either. You never had silence, no one have. There's only more or less of it. So with that in mind; what's the difference between someone WITHOUT tinnitus not thinking about the noises they hear, and someone WITH tinnitus not thinking about the noises they hear?
That's the way I see it anyhow, and it helps me cope and improve. Positive thoughts!

I want to share a story for those suddenly experiencing tinnitus:
A few months ago i have had an ear-infection which resulted in to sudden deafness on the right side. My hearing dropped to about 50% after auditory test.
This went on for a few weeks and after my hearing came back i started hearing a high-pitched tone.
This tone was constant for months and i was afraid i was going to live with this forever, but now.... 4 months later the tone is completely gone.
I remember scrolling through comments, looking for people experiencing the same thing but couldn't find one so i thought i'd share mine.
Big up to all people living with tinnitus. Stay strong.

It's called RI Residual Inhibition. I found that if I play a harpsichord for a few minutes the tinnitus ringing stops for several hours - blessed relief when having suffered 8000hz whistle at 65dB in both ears 24/7 since 1993 when noise damage messed up my cochlea hair-cells. Now I play early music Telemann flute concerto to get to sleep and it works beautifully - without that I'd go nuts. Not sure if this recording does inhibit the tinnitus - but you know there is no cure. Well, not yet but I may not live long enough to experience a cure if they ever find one.

Yes! I've had tinnitus for as long as I can remember, before kindergarten at least. I can tolerate it most day, but we recently moved, life is hectic, anxiety and depression to a fearful extreme (my husband is a huge help) and my tinnitus is suddenly raging! It's reached intolerable levels before, but normally briefly, calming down in a few hours or a couple day most. This has been going on for WEEKS, I'm sleeping 4 hours at a time, I can't mentally function. I'm here on TH-cam because finger drumming no longer works for more than 30 seconds. Not enough relief!

Tinnitus changed my life for the better.
It all started when I had to quit my dream job (club DJ)
and after 2 weeks of not doing much I went into YOLO mode.
I began to do everything that scared me, (traveling by car, going to asia, hitchhikin, going to a rainbow gathering, traveling without a phone, etc.)
It changed my perspective on life that I had to make the best of it while I still had what health and sanity I had left.
ANNNND I found that meditation was highly beneficial for tinnitus and life in general.
A daily practice of breath meditation was all it took to significantly reduce stress surrounding my tinnitus.
And with Vipassana meditation it literally became a non-issue, (aside from loud noise avoidance)
Well, 7 years in I had just had another spike, and I decided to stop being so cautious about loud sounds.
The results were pretty negative, I then got another spike and tinnitus became an issue for me after 5.5 years of total peace with it.
But its taught me life is a journey, and we have to lean into what scares us.
I no longer spend time wishing for the T to go away, I just wish to keep learning from life and meeting new discoveries

I’ve had tinnitus for about 8 years after playing to high music in music school. The first two years was absolutely a nightmare, with a lot of anxiety and fear of being exposed to any kind of sounds. I even had earplugs when vacuum cleaning, going by airplane or if anyone spoke to loud.
Now, I’ve studied nurse for 3 years, working in hospital for 5 years and finally started medicine studies to become a doctor. For you out there with tinnitus as me, I can tell you that it will become better. Not the sound itself, but to be able to live with it. I don’t care anymore of this sound that I always hear, and you are all able to also not care. You just have to find your own path to this.
However, what I didn’t knew before and what I wished that I knew, is that certain things will make the tinnitus worse for a short amount of time, such as alcohol, medication such as ASA (acetyl salicylic acid), ibuprofen and other NSAID (non steroid anti inflammatory drugs). But just for a few hours or so. Also having the cold seriously mess up my ears. All this is however reversible (which I didn’t knew from start), and can literally make every one with tinnitus shit their pants wondering why it now became worse.
I take NSAID on a monthly basis, because of migraines or if I have a bad hungover etc, (because for me paracetamol does not simply work). Paracetamol does not mess up your ears at all, just so you know.
My tinnitus becomes 2 times worse when taking this medication (ibuprofen or ASA), and I’m a lot more sensitive for sound for a few hours. But it is all reversible.
About research I’ve studied a lot of “new” papers regarding tinnitus. It all comes down to a brain damage, not really a broken ear as many of us has thought before. Research has proven that people with tinnitus has a continuous open ion gate in our brain that is initiated for every person when we here a sound, but for us it is hyperactive all day long. The latest thing I read was about continually open sodium gates in our brain that activates this tinnitus sound. New medication has proven to be successful for not yet closing, but lowering this ion channels and hence reducing the “imaginary” annoying beep we always here. Unfortunately not yet without side effects or with to good results. But we are in an early state of research, and we learn more every day. As a medicine student, my hopes are very high for not only a temporary relief such as this video might provide, but an actual treatment.
So please tinnitus people, keep your head high and don’t let your hope down. We will be able to listen to the worlds beauty just as we did a couple of years ago again.

I have had tinnitus since 2019 til present. I plug my ears with cotton while I am at work or just out and about. Loud noises hurt my ear. It's in my right ear. Sounds like a cricket chirping but higher pitched. Tinnitus is actually a brain thing. Not an ear thing. You notice more cuz you are searching for the sound. Mine gets louder when I am stressed or really tired. I use a big fan at night to focus on, to drown out the tinnitus. I use this video every night for atleast an hour. I have noticed that the frequency and how long my ear rings for, has diminished. Thank You for this. It is a life changer that gives me some relief. Anyone who has tinnitus, Stay Strong. I’ve had Tinnitus for almost 14 years. It rocked me to the core for about 3 weeks, and then I saw the ENT specialist and he told me I had it and there’s no cure. I got on with it from that day forward. Sleeping well, not too much caffeine and limit salt will keep it at bay to some or a large extent - alcohol calms it down but when the alcohol wears off it can come back with a vengeance. There are days when it’s annoying but manageable, and others I don’t notice it at all - it gets better and you can deal with it and have a normal life - remember that ! Hope this helps us all to an even better level !

It's really been depressing for me to realise that I'll probably never hear true silence again, and videos like these are the only way for me to escape from the constant stress of hearing it. It's really wearing me out mentally, and I hope that one day I'll find a way to deal with it

I am not deaf and live in a constant world of silence. ✨❤️✨ May you all find peace with this ringing. I know it is difficult and at times breaks our spirit, but I am grateful that I can still hear. My tinnitus started years ago as a deaf buzzing; sometimes it’s hard to deal with it, sometimes not. And it comes in different ways and sounds for me. I have hyperacusia too. So, it’s a mess 😂.
But things like this help me very, very much. This, together with magnesio, vitamin B, Vitamin D, gingko biloba and melatonin. That, meditation, loving people around and hearing this.

This works really well. My tinnitus often occurs accompanied with a strange pressure in my ears, and this recording actually helps with the pressure, and not just the ringing like when using white noise machines. For some reason, the ringing, and the pressure just got really bad in the past 20 minutes, and that's how I ended up here. This truly is a relief, so thanks to this channel.

    • @A-RonHubbard
      @A-RonHubbard ปีที่แล้ว +1

I have the pressure thing too. Even before the ringing started, my right ear felt "full" compared to the left ear for years. Also my ears had been hyper sensitive since I was a kid. Like when sitting at a red light with the windows down - a car would pull up beside us and I could sometimes hear the brakes like chalk on a chalkboard, or a knife on the plate. I wonder if I've always been destined for hearing loss. Is it genetic? Or something I've done?

@@crawltochina Hey! I think I've been somewhat fortunate and don't have a bad case of tinnitus. On rare occasions I'll hear it during daytime, but I have to actively tune into it to find it. I do wear a ton of noise cancelling headphones though, which makes it quite obvious throughout most of my day. It felt horrible for the first few months if not for the first couple of years, but now, 5-6 years later, I don't mind it much. Acceptance really helped. Though, there are some companies working on finding cures for tinnitus and regrowing the tiny hearing hairs we've got in our inner ears. A big one recently just seemed to have failed (Frequency Therapeutics), which was sad, but they had promising results for a while! I have hopes that we might have a fix within the next 10-20 years.

I used to work as a Videographer and filmed live bands playing sets at music festivals. I never used to wear ear protection, because I was young, dumb and thought I was invincible.
This is the biggest regret of my life.
I’ve been living with an intense ringing, two separate high frequencies (one in each ear) constantly all day.
Sometimes, about once a week, I’ll awaken for no reason at around 3/4am and won’t be able to get back to sleep because I’m so aware of the ringing noise.
I really think all of us tinnitus sufferers should put together our own fund to give a budget to some young talented researchers/doctors who can do more extensive tests and try to discover a treatment faster.
There are millions of us, and I know that I’d be willing to donate monthly to this research.
Let’s actually get something done about this.

I had a bout of tinnitus for 3 months a few years ago and it's shocking how incredibly frustrating and overwhelming it feels to never hear silence. It literally came out of nowhere one Sunday afternoon, I kept thinking that a socket had a power/ electrical problem but I went around my whole room and it was everywhere and Loud. So loud it would be on par with train noises when I used to sit down and during conversations with people. I'm so thankful that it went away (gradually) to just normal background noise. This video really helped mask the ringing and I do count it as a form of therapy in a way, as it really helped me cope. I hope everyone else find the peace and relief they are looking for. To some, just know it can actually go away in time so don't immediately panic! Give it a bit of time, mine came all of a sudden and then gradually went away for no apparent reason, so you always have that hope.

You know what? I can't get over how much everyone here supports each other. Someone suggested here (I'm guessing jokingly) that it would be a good idea to organize a party with tinnitus masking sounds. It would be a pleasure to party with you. I also struggle with tinnitus. In addition, for me, it is also associated with plugging ears and hyperacusis. I do research, avoid noise, take steroid drugs, herbs etc. Sometimes it's better, sometimes it's worse. Recently, I have also started listening to tinnitus maskers like this one.
    Ps. Great sounds

I have suffered from tinnitus all my life, and I really hate it, I am one of the few who has not been able to get used to it, I can only "deal" with it and resign myself.

22 years old with severe tinnitus in my left ear and moderate in my right. It's difficult to explain to people who don't battle this condition just how annoying it can be. I am at the point now co-workers notice me turning my head to be able to hear things. My left ear frequently tunes out people speaking. Found this video today, and as nice as the sounds are, more so I am enjoying reading the comments. Good luck to all of you and I hope you make the best of everything. I am grateful to have tinnitus. It has helped me appreciate my hearing in general. Hope you all enjoy your week and these wonderful robotic chirps of relief.

Also trying a vitamin and mineral " Quietum Plus" would try anything for relief. Also at the start was in denial blaming things around me. God bless. ❤❤
