@@conradaxe3895 Words mean what they mean. Sounds produce vibration frequencies and are strung into words that have specific meanings from their origins. We may use a word differently now, but its original meaning still stands.

Never forget.... It is not the level of noise that makes you anxious. It's the fact there is a noise. Don't underestimate the power of acceptance (which is not the same as ignoring!). Mindfulness helps (too) in dealing with the unavoidable things in life. It's not just tinnitus, or cancer, of another issue. It is how you cope with it. Accept its presence, be kind to yourself and whatever is bothering you.

One technique that works for me that I copied years ago from Reddit.
Place the palms of your hands over your ears with fingers resting gently on the back of your head. Your middle fingers should point toward one another just above the base of your skull. Place your index fingers on top of you middle fingers and snap them (the index fingers) onto the skull making a loud, drumming noise.
    Repeat 40-50 times.

I have had tinnitus for 40 years. It can drive you crazy if you let it. What has helped me is acknowledging that tinnitus is not a "real" sound but a "sensation". Somehow for me, accepting this sensation as a part of my being rather than a hurtful noise.... It has truly calmed my anxiety of the past 15 years. Most times I can now go days without "hearing" it.

Couple of years ago i bought a Harley and took the summer off and went motorcycle camping out west.
One day, i was on the highway, which i had been avoiding during my trip, but anyways, it was hot out and i wanted to get where i was going fast so i got on the highway, I'm wearing a half helmet so no ear protection and it was super windy that day too.
When i got to the campsite, i knew i did something to my ears, ruffling paper sounded like sheet metal, it was awful.
At times, the ringing is so loud it's almost unbearable. It's been like this for years.
I found this video yesterday and did those exercises once....

Thank u so much for this video.
I started hearing some noise that looks like heartbeat and of unclear television station August 2022. I was told i had nerve damage. Took so many drugs of the likes of BP drugs and blood thinner. Consulted with the ENT who told me, my ears were fine but it was a nasal blockage. Prescribed so many drugs at first visit for two weeks, the tinnitus increased, changed the drugs, remained the same. Recommended nose irrigation which i completed and at this time, i was no longer sleeping for the high pitch. It comes in different sound; like a heart beat, forest sound, ocean sound, clicking sound. I WAS ALMOST GETTING CRAZY AND DEPRESSED. I decided to check youtube, listened to many but yours have given me a spontaneous relief in just two days. THANK YOU SO MUCH AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU ABUNDANTLY.

I have tinnitus and the only trick I feel I learned by myself over several years was forcing a yawn to pop my ears and using my fingers in my ears like the thumb in the ears trick. Along with these other exercises, I tested them by listening to my parents watching a video on low volume a few rooms down ... and it was much clearer than what I'm used to. My ringing noise was much quieter.

I developed a high-pitched whistle in my left ear after going through a root canal, which has made it difficult to sleep at night and made me anxious and depressed during the day. I also experienced popping and soreness in the hinge of my jaw on that side. Doing these exercises has not only reduced the noise significantly, but my jaw feels better as well. What a blessed relief! I'm going to do these exercises throughout the day and before bedtime. I'm anticipating a good night's sleep!

My tinnitus is due to radiation treatment in the early 90's. I know there is a pressure issue because I feel temp relief when plugging my nose and lightly blowing. After watching hundreds of videos, this is the first one that has addressed the pressure issue and how to deal with it. One round of exercises and am feeling night & day difference. Thank you so much for sharing and I am looking forward to incremental improvements.

I have had tinnitus for over 20 years, cicada-like continuous hissing, rather mild but still disturbing sometimes. By doing these exercises only a couple of times, the sound intensity has already been decreased by half, so I will go on doing them as a routine. I found the ''thumbs popping in the ears'' exercise especially helpful, thanks a lot!

I’ve had tinnitus for approx 20 years. The ENT Dr. told me there is no cure. I’d call it a mild case. A few weeks ago I was at a loud concert and left as soon as I could but when I walked out I noticed the high pitched whine was significantly worse. I tried your exercise and to my amazement the noise is much reduced. I can’t thank you enough.

It gets to a point where it’s concerning to see so many people throwing themselves at his feet, when he’s a total snake oil salesman.
It is a me problem and I should just quietly move on, I will grant you that. But surely you’ve seen something on TH-cam before and just had to speak up? Like how you saw me being a bit of a d**k here and had to question me, which you’re completely justified in doing by the way.
I normally try not to let things bother me, but I can’t count how many times I’ve seen this man provide a “cure” for something that affects me, only to find some childish crap he seemingly found on Reddit and it be of no use whatsoever.
I have tinnitus and it’s awful. I’ve seen this type of solution so many times across the internet over the years and it doesn’t help beyond maybe 10 seconds of silence due to the relative sound drop after pummelling the tendons in the back of your skull.

Thank you Doctor. I was diagnosed four years ago with Vestibular Neuritis. It was horrible, I spent one year in bed, so dizzy, pressure behind my head, tinnitus and just miserable. Two ENT doctors, one year vestibular physical therapy. Slowly got well year two. My balance problem and back of head pressure improved but the tinnitus has never left.

Also, get a Vitamin D3 blood test. A lot of people are very deficient in Vitamin D3.
I had tinnitus for several years BEFORE I had the Vitamin D3 blood test because of other health reasons. My blood test results determined I was severely deficient in the Vitamin D3. My doctor prescribed for me to take 15,000 IU's daily for 6 months. In that time, a nice side benefit was, the tinnitus went away completely!
I now, personally, take 15,000 IU's of Vitamin D3 daily and (1) Vitamin K2/MK-7 90mcg daily. The Vitamin K2/MK-7 helps with the absorption of Vitamin D3. I have Celiac Disease and have nutrient absorption issues, so that's why I have to take a higher dosage of Vitamin D3, with no side effects.
Well, I hope this information helps you in YOUR research to good health. 😊💖

@@tillygirl7450 thank you, this gives me hope. I've had IBS for years, ate bad throughout my 20s, then had my gallbladder go bad so my nutrient levels are probably pretty low and I might need higher doses to compensate for absorption issues. I'm going to get a d3 blood test and in particular b6 and b12 tests since I read alongside d3, a b12 deficiency notably can also cause tinnitus. I've cut out 99% of fast food and take vitamins, but could need higher doses. Dr Eric Berg said residual infection in the ear could cause it too and recommended bioflavanoids, garlic, and oregano oil pills which I've ordered and am going to try. His plan b was to take 40,000 iu d3 and 400mcg k2 every morning for 1-2 weeks and that could possibly cure tinnitus too. I haven't personally had any of these ear or neck muscle exercises cure my tinnitus so I'm starting to believe it's some vitamin thing or infection instead of a muscle problem. I've had tinnitus in my right ear almost 4 months now out of the blue.
