Hi, a recovering anorexic here. If you came to this video looking for tips or something, stop. This is one of the worst things i've ever experienced. Losing a lot of weight fast isn't just about getting skinny. It's balding. Muscle loss. Coldness. Lanugo. Bad teeth. Weak bones. Heart issues. Metabolism slowing down. Stunted growth. Mental torture. And so much more. Especially if you're a teen or a child, these are the years weight gain is necessary and natural. If you need to lose weight, talk to your guardians or a doctor. Don't fall into the unhealthy ways. Don't listen to the creeping voice of an eating disorder. Please, be healthy.
I am a teenage model for a small company in my city and i can legit relate to eating tissues. I would sit in the backrooms and see the old girls eat cottonballs and tissues and they would fill up on water. I rememeber skipping meals for my "favorite" meal which was tissues. My stomach would be in so muvh pain. My manager asked me if i was okay because i looked sick. I just said i was fine and when i was modeling a dress i passed out. I still do it sometimes but only when i am craving snacks that i can't have due to the strict diet that my manager put me on
This was 7 years ago and models are still skeletal. It’s so sad. I’m sure they’d be beautiful if they had some shape. Being healthy and happy is more important than fitting into clothes. VS is starting to have thicker models and they’re so beautiful.
I know this is 4 years later. But she said they just go on "drastic diets". She didn't explain what she meant by that. But small percentage going as far as to eat tissues
The average supermodel is around 5' 10"/177cm+ and 52-57 kgs (though some of the most famous Euro catwalk models are more 6 foot and 49-52kgs). As a 169cm/5' 6" woman who had an eating disorder and still only managed to get down to 52-58 kgs, I can assure you that none of the supermodels or large majority of the industry are staying thin "the right way." You can even see how defensive she gets when saying that, as if she knows she's lying but still trying to maintain that lie to ensure she doesn't lose her career entirely. Likely, she was making many more judgement calls on who was too fat, and those who were "too thin" for glamour, lingerie, or magazines would immediately be promoted to walking the catwalk for Paris fashion week. Yes, promoted, because anyone can get thin, but few can get and stay very, very, very thin, making them more special or rare (and wonderfully ethereal for hanging clothes on). The scary part is that this industry has changed people's perceptions of healthy to the idea that a healthy woman is one with a BMI of 18 (0.5 below healthy) or less. It's not, and those who fall under 18.5 (i.e., are anorexic), are actually MORE at risk, health-wise, than MORBIDLY OBESE people (FYI, the category "morbidly" refers to the highest category of obesity on the BMI/weight scale, not simply overweight or obese). You can look this up online. Yes (Gemma, Bella, Gigi, Gisele, every Victoria's Secret model, every single other well-known model you can think of - except maybe the very few who are so stunningly beautiful or had plastic surgery like rib removal to get a small waist or to get so pretty, are) MORE at risk of not just health issues like organ failure, sudden death, illness, and cancer, but also mental health issues like suicide, addiction, depression, self-harm, and such that can result in death and further health issues than the fattest people on earth (morbidly obese). And they're believed to be "healthy". Chew on that... terrifying. Again, I had ED, including drug use, extreme dieting, and bulimia. The whole package -- and I still wasn't able to get down to and stay the 49kgs I would need to to compare to these tall model girls who are my lowest weight. Finding that out and realizing how much of a big lie this whole industry (and life in general for a woman) is just makes it more horrific. During this time, I couldn't sleep due to the hunger and pain of my bones digging against my skin into the bed. I developed a very unhealthy obsession with food, always thinking about my next meal, how I would eat it to prolong it, how many calories it would have, which options were sugar, salt, gluten, and dairy free (usually grilled meat with very little rice and lots of vegetables), and constantly watching food shows to distract myself from the feeling of hunger in my stomach. I also developed depression due to the lack of nutrients and carbs I was intaking, which in turn led me to see myself in a bad light (low self-esteem), too (it's hard to have self-esteem when you have no dopamine in your system, even if you actually look stunning to everyone else around). Sometimes, I would change and spot something I didn't like, then change and change and change and change clothing for up to two hours before giving up and deciding I refused to go out because I felt so ugly/down/depressed/anxious about my looks. The beauty ideals for women these days are nasty, we've just incorporated more plastic (BBLs, rib removal/adjustment, botox) surgery to give the fake appearance of curviness/womanliness/feminity to an otherwise thin or not so perfect frame. I used to draw pretty women and people, but gave up because I felt it was harmful, promoting unobtainable ideals while also not achieving anything positive in regard to climate change, war, and poverty. I also gave up chasing these ideals for the adoration of others, particularly men. If someone only likes you for what you look like then they don't really care about you. You're also constantly at risk of losing all that if you have a bad week, drop your diet, or stop exercising (though most anorexics cannot do that due to having zero energy). What a waste of life. Exercise to health (nevermind female model proportions my ***, even Gigi's mother forbade her from volleyball because she said she would look like a man.Watching their videos is more than a warning, including eating an almond for hunger, not eating your own birthday cake, and drinking lemon water for breakfast.
I really wonder if the super models ate healthy to stay in shape?? I don't think so. I heard a supermodel say that she was thinking whether or not to eat an apple. This is a very famous supermodel.
No Anesthesia wtf is wrong with you?! You do realise some naturally thin people eat crap and stay skinny. That’s not healthy even if your the same weight, your still eating pizza 4 times a week.
the ones who aren't naturally thin starve to be thin. this is the same for actresses. I've read many memoirs/autobiographies written by actresses and all the thin ones acknowledge they barely ate.
Emaciated is Not a Fashion statement. It's Dangerous. I Can Say This Because I Was There. At 6' tall, 145 lbs, 38-26-38, I could not fit my bones into the Required Size 5. I am a model and have modeled in runway, commercial & editorial print, voice on camera. Kate Moss thin is not natural. As she says, "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels."
watching this from 2021, just realizing how beautifully far we’ve come in the past few years regarding body image, victoria’s secret is even publishing billboard sized images of BBW, things like stretch marks and cellulite are being romanticized, i love it, and it’s only gonna get even better moving forward :). YOU ARE ALL LOVED AND BEYOND PERFECT NEVER EVER FORGET IT!!!❤️❤️❤️
GingerellaCookie Cookieguts That's actually really bad for your health if you're not naturally that thin. It's like a bmi of 16.7 which is way less than the minimum bmi criteria of 17.5 for someone to be diagnosed with anorexia.
sure, small amount of the industry/models. you do know that people can function with all sorts of unhealthy things for a long time. still lying i see because you don't want to come for the whole industry or top models. just want to make some money off your book without killing future career. smh
Movie stars like Judy Garland have come out saying the weightloss method pushed on her was sleeping pills to sleep away the hunger. It's insane the measures people will take, like the tapeworm method 🤢 for the models who lose weight healthily, they exercise a couple hours a day, usually getting it out of the way by the late morning. They eat lots of at-home prepared dishes with foods like salmon, spinach, peppers, etc. Lots of green and colors in there.
Judy was given amphetamines (speed) during the day to give her energy and curb hunger; sleeping pills at night or she'd be too jittery. It was a vicious cycle.
THIN but you must have good shape ! They are some people who are thin/skinny but no shape if you know what I mean. It is just like buttock is flat, waistline is too small, top is almost flat !! This will look awful on any girls/ladies. I have seen some thin/skinny girls with broad shoulder, bustline ok, waistline shape is good with "fleshy" buttock. They look skinny BUT they have shape in their body.
Skip meals, eat smaller meals, and workout. Other alternatives are not healthy. I'm a 6 foot, naturally thin (small frame measurements) and I was 140 with higher body fat. I lost 10 pounds of fat over 3 years - it was fairly easy.
Maybe drug testing should be a duty of care in this industry. And better health standards practiced. You can be slim and perfectly healthy just like you can be plus sized and absolutely stunning. It is when there is detriment to health and wellbeing that it is concerning.
I used to workout 2 hours a day five days a week while also working graveyard hours part-time at a logistics warehouse (FedEx ground) and I got into the best shape of my life. Then I got hurt at work and they “made me go away.”
I haven’t worked or worked out quite like that since 2018. 😢 also had a savings goal I just managed to make. So proud of my ethic but I learned my lesson.
+Jasmine Kassim (I know it's probably not spelled right, sorry) That isn't right.Overweight people can look good in clothes too.I am sorry if I misunderstand your point but the impression I got from your comment is fat people don't look good in clothes and its their fault their fat. Some people have diseases that make them overweight,I know a couple of people who have that problem.I know some really just over eat and if so they deserve to be overweight. You just can't pin point being overweight to over eating.
Things have changed. The fashion industry is not the top bad guy anymore. Nowadays it’s the fucking bloggers and influencers, who are always on all sorts of cleanses. Girls posting pictures of their toned bodies, with giant asses and tiny waists, lying that they’re on balanced diets, eating clean, when in reality some of them drink juice all day or eat nothing at all. I fucking hate these people. And now they’re trying to fix the mess they’ve made by attempting to convince the public that being fat is ok. That’s not the solution, you shouldn’t have drilled it into everyone’s heads that they have to be skinny to begin with!
1st time i saw a back lit fashion show, looked like ET clones coming off a ship. TIny bony bodies & swollen heads. it was scary looking and said as much. PPl told me i just didnt' understand "fashion".
Healthy ways to become slim - 1. Eat 6-8 small meals a day. Your portion size will automatically come down in few days. Many of these should be fruits and salads and dry fruits. Others are veggies. 2. Sleep amply every night. 3. Hydrate yourself properly. 4. Have fun for at least 30 mins daily. 5. Exercise 6. Yoga 7. Massages 8. Eat something natural within 15 mins of waking up 9. Avoid sugar and processed food like plague Trust me I have researched and these 9 steps have helped many actresses to lose lots of fat. Best part they are also sustainable for life.
Actually. No model or no designer ever has said that skinny girls are the pretty ones. They just use them as manniquies. THE ONLY ONES SAYING THEY ARE THE PRETTY ONES AND THAT THE OTHER GIRLS ARE UGLY ARE FAT GIRLS. Its a self-steem problem. Not the problem of the fashion industry.
Exactly! The clothes are supposed to fall off them, no one wants to see sausage thighs and protruding stomachs on the runway! I really don’t get how it’s hard to understand, thin people wear it better.
Extreme dieting is a thing of the past. Today, they practice the art of daily brisk walking and walk briskly everyday for the mathematical benefits. That’s it, it’s that simple.
Meant to look up eating disorder testimonies and recovery videos and here I am back tracking and wondering how these models lose weight faster than I do.
Lily howell 87???? You’re BMI is 15.9 a healthy BMI is between 18.5 and 24.9. You should GAIN weight. Though I’m not much to talk since I’m very overweight, but you’re young so getting a healthy weight should be fairly easy. I think at least 100 pounds is good, but a little more would be better.
Lily howell I understand, it’s good that you know you need to gain weight that’s always the first step. But I was just making sure because I thought your comment was being sarcastic and that you wanted to lose weight and it worried me a bit.❤️
She not all off them and that the top models do it healthier way then why Victoria secret top models shared how they starve themselves before the show, well every models does it including top models
i feel the same way, and its messed up- its society's effect, and we're delusional and so hypnotised by beauty standards that we'll sacrifice our happiness if it meant we were societally considered pretty. the substance is a great movie to show this, a hyperbolised version of beauty standards vs women (even men) today. we're all so brainwashed, we're so corrupted. the thing is no one cares about your body more than you do yourself, and i'd give anything to not be so hyperfocused on my apperance and if i look skinny enough

This is a very famous supermodel.
it doesn't matter how thin you are as long as you are healthy
Violet Pc best comment :)
Often you can't be too think and be healthy.
@No Anesthesia they quite are not
No Anesthesia wtf is wrong with you?! You do realise some naturally thin people eat crap and stay skinny. That’s not healthy even if your the same weight, your still eating pizza 4 times a week.
Sıla Gülcemal
I’m thin and I’m healthy I just have a monster metabolism.
the ones who aren't naturally thin starve to be thin. this is the same for actresses.
“a small percentage” that is the biggest lie I’ve ever heard
she got very uncomfortable in the end when she was asked about the 'revenge' book. you could tell by her small movements in the answer
samibilly
She was full of BS all Through the interview.
I think coming at people who come out about it will stop anyone from saying anything
she's judging women when she looks like lord farquaad
Real question
Oh my gosh I am dying so hard from laughter right now I can't, I CANNOT XD!!!
hahahahha ha LOLL
😂😂😂😂
It was her job....to judge
drugs and eating disorders
Rip river❤️
Remember nothing tastes as good as skinny feels
watching this from 2021, just realizing how beautifully far we’ve come in the past few years regarding body image, victoria’s secret is even publishing billboard sized images of BBW, things like stretch marks and cellulite are being romanticized, i love it, and it’s only gonna get even better moving forward :). YOU ARE ALL LOVED AND BEYOND PERFECT NEVER EVER FORGET IT!!!❤️❤️❤️
Not anymore 😂 since 2YK fashion is comming back and celebrities are us using ozempic
i found this when i typed in pronana lol
me too
yea
5'11'' and 120 lbs are standards in the modeling world.
eastern2western that's not too bad depending in the individual ive heard worse
eastern2western shit I am 5’9 and 124 I wish I was like this
GingerellaCookie Cookieguts That's actually really bad for your health if you're not naturally that thin. It's like a bmi of 16.7 which is way less than the minimum bmi criteria of 17.5 for someone to be diagnosed with anorexia.
She didn’t say anything or stand up for the girls because you didn’t want to lose your job or your paycheck. Be honest.
bro you know some people don't even have to try, even people in developed countries like usa or uk
Tissues?? WTF
Ye I did am article on it as part of my studies, the hunger gets so much to bare and they need soemthing to fill themselves up. Kleenex tissues
@@pottermore-fans734 I heard other girls were eating cotton balls

@@reabetsweimanmoabi7911 not from tissues themselves. The lack of food, yes.
Lol I ate them when I was younger cause I liked the texture
4:15 She's lying.
Yes the way she keeps looking away it’s obvious
we all know who controls that industry
sure, small amount of the industry/models.
you do know that people can function with all sorts of unhealthy things for a long time. still lying i see because you don't want to come for the whole industry or top models. just want to make some money off your book without killing future career.
Its a fashion show. They require manneqins that are animated. Thats what these skinny models are.
Theyre showing off the clothes not the model.
imagine supporting eating disorders
Well they simply do not EAT!
I watched this when I was 12 and started eating tissues lol.. I'm 17 now and an ethical healthy sized vegan who no longer eats tissues.
im doing intermittent fasting im always fighting hunger i rather be thin its better
You're Starving your self, lookup sv3rige on YT
It’s not easy, I agree. Just keep hydrated and listen to your body 🤍
Wake up planet earth. The model life is the fast lane highway to hell
That’s why people get plastic surgery. Too be super skinny and expect the bust and butt to only have fat is unrealistic -_-
Skip meals, eat smaller meals, and workout. Other alternatives are not healthy.
I'm a 6 foot, naturally thin (small frame measurements) and I was 140 with higher body fat. I lost 10 pounds of fat over 3 years - it was fairly easy.
ah the good old days of Vlada, Gemma... that was catwalk
Speed,diet coke and cigarrettes
Umm I never worked in the fashion industry but I knew about the models eating tissues and cotton. This lady is completely in denial
Maybe drug testing should be a duty of care in this industry. And better health standards practiced. You can be slim and perfectly healthy just like you can be plus sized and absolutely stunning. It is when there is detriment to health and wellbeing that it is concerning.
I'm naturally slim but I'm not that thin
She sounds so incompetent from the way she speaks and carry’s herself..what is it you’re afraid of? It’s almost like she’s hiding something..
Me&my ED:✨Disappointed✨
It's called cocaine, puking, and moving food around on their plate instead of eating it.
Sorry to hear that 🤍
Because she makes money out of writing a book. They don't give a fuck about the models.
+Jasmine Kassim (I know it's probably not spelled right,sorry)
That isn't right.Overweight people can look good in clothes too.I am sorry if I misunderstand your point but the impression I got from your comment is fat people don't look good in clothes and its their fault their fat. Some people have diseases that make them overweight,I know a couple of people who have that problem.I know some really just over eat and if so they deserve to be overweight. You just can't pin point being overweight to over eating.
No real tips on how to lose weight here 💔
She was right. Now we have the whole zoo on the stage. Hippos and elephantine realness like tess holiday
that ' get your girlfriend teddy bear ' for valentine commercial... God please don't get a grown women a giant teddy bear.
mynameismeaw why not? some women like it
@@16Meily NO THEY DON'T, they'd prefer other things but they're pretending that way out of their kindness.
Im a grown ass woman and i would love a giant teddy bear? wtf are you talking about
Sıla Gülcemal everyone’s different. i dont know what kind of people your associated with, but everyone’s different.
My ex got me a giant teddy bear, and I loved it. Not every woman is the same.
Anorexia which i have experience and still experienced is terrible i feell like a skeleton
Who are the models at 3:48 & 4:04 ?
This woman makes me aggressive
Everyone wants to be Tall, Thin, and Good Looking....
Cause No One wants to be Short, Fat, and Butt Ugly!
😎
that lady def killed her husband
*sips green tea*
They don't eat.
I dont eat either
Healthy ways to become slim -
1. Eat 6-8 small meals a day. Your portion size will automatically come down in few days. Many of these should be fruits and salads and dry fruits. Others are veggies.
2. Sleep amply every night.
3. Hydrate yourself properly.
4. Have fun for at least 30 mins daily.
5. Exercise
6. Yoga
7. Massages
8. Eat something natural within 15 mins of waking up
9. Avoid sugar and processed food like plague
Trust me I have researched and these 9 steps have helped many actresses to lose lots of fat. Best part they are also sustainable for life.
No thanks Ill water fast x
Who has the time to plan and eat 6-8 "meals" a day

Mathematical?
Strange woman doesn’t breathe when she talks. Not good.
Meant to look up eating disorder testimonies and recovery videos and here I am back tracking and wondering how these models lose weight faster than I do.
What's the book called?
I'm totally not watching this to try and loose weight...even though I'm 87lb 13 and 5,2...
@@StarBoundAngel ik I have to gain weight, currently im around 84 pounds....but gaining weight is really difficult for me
Lily howell I understand, it’s good that you know you need to gain weight that’s always the first step. But I was just making sure because I thought your comment was being sarcastic and that you wanted to lose weight and it worried me a bit.❤️
@@StarBoundAngel thanks for actually caring 🥺

I may eat tissues just looking for new things to do
She not all off them and that the top models do it healthier way then why Victoria secret top models shared how they starve themselves before the show, well every models does it including top models
How to be model thin? Choose your parents / genes well, and be a teen. Most start at age 12 - 14 years.
Cigarettes and champagne in my days
I think the secret is eat a balance meal, eat less carbo & sweets
The truth is alot of older models were addicted to cigs and drugs, thats how they did it.
Time stamps?
I’d rather be skinny and miserable than fat and happy
Its sad that you prefer skinny over happiness
@@chocoeuxlatier ill always value being skinny over anything
i feel the same way, and its messed up- its society's effect, and we're delusional and so hypnotised by beauty standards that we'll sacrifice our happiness if it meant we were societally considered pretty. the substance is a great movie to show this, a hyperbolised version of beauty standards vs women (even men) today. we're all so brainwashed, we're so corrupted.
the thing is no one cares about your body more than you do yourself, and i'd give anything to not be so hyperfocused on my apperance and if i look skinny enough
well thats their job. if you want to be fat then quit
seriously? I'm 5'7 and 150lbs am I too fat to model? cause I'm a model...
