Guys who deal with this bs don't have the stones usually. She would have been out long ago if he had options. Women know this that's why they chuckle when lap dog finally shows teeth. They have seen so many false alpha chest pumps they see through it. But then when it turns out to be real they realize they fucked up and judged a guy wrong as weak when he was always just giving the benefit of the doubt until he finally had enough. I dont watch this show and have no context on what type of guy he is beyond this moment but it's an interesting pattern that can be observed out in the world. Women don't chuckle at you when putting your foot down unless they have very little respect for you and don't believe you are the guy who means it.
@@guitarman0365that just means the guy didn't set boundaries or the women didn't respect you in the first place. Just based on this interaction I saw it as a kid shrinking from responsibility.
Nah, thats just a copout for wanting to blame random shit on people. In this particular scene Fiona wasn't responsible for the actions of Jason. Jason is sole person responsible for his actions, end of story.
I see both sides of this, truthfully. On one hand, it's easy to get mad at Lip and think that he was just lashing out at Fiona, and he was. Because probably, in his mind, he was just watching her turn into their father. Every single person in this family is deeply traumatized and damaged and they all struggle with being decent people because nobody taught them how to be. They just had to navigate and figure this shit out on their own since their own parents couldn't bring themselves to care about anyone more than themselves. Empathy, compassion, and so on are lessons taught to us by the adults in our lives, even if we can't fully remember those lessons. No, none of it was Fiona's fault, but she's stuck in a "I lost my childhood and had a bad life, and therefor I have a pass to be a shitshow now" loop. A lot of them were. A lot of people are.

Because I watched this show I got into sobriety. I held my first AA chip and flipped it in the air at the exact moment so did Lip. It looked like a sign I was on the right path. I am now over 3 years sober and I sponsor other men. I have even worked at a sober living house. This show helped change my life.
Imagine having no control of yourself and celebrating that. Imagine publicly announcing “I can’t control myself” and expecting people to pat you on the back. Bro grow the fuck up.
I wish it would’ve commited more to the serious/drama aspect with some comedy strewn in, but some of the storylines became way to cartoonish and quirky and kind of diminished some of my favorite aspects of the show.
It was karma, she was a shit person, she may have had some good moments and went through a lot. But over and over again she did messed up things and acted like she was better than everyone else, while actively being a bad person.

@MMAdiehardfan firstly he was trying to better himself. Your life isn't ruined when you're trying to better it, awful thing to say about that. Sorry but she has a point. No one has ever asked if anyone is in AA. It’s not her responsibility ultimately either to check who can and can’t drink due to addiction. If you’re a struggling addict it’s up to you to save yourself. You can’t expect someone to come when you need it most you have to be able to find a way to ask for the help yourself if you need it. He had every opportunity to call Lip before he asked for that drink and every opportunity to walk away from her drinking. Lip has a right to be mad but he shouldn’t be mad at her.
I think Fiona definitely should take accountability for her consumption and how that might affect others even without her knowing. Although unknowingly, her excessive drinking to the point of carrying around a personal bottle of hard liquor like that incites potential relapse. it’s like a disease. Misery loves company.
@@PhantomXKR._. She sacrificed everything for them, taking care of them even when Fiona needed help with her alcoholism. Despite always being there for others when they were at their lowest, when she needed support, especially from Philip and Debbie, they were selfish and treated her poorly, I don’t blame Fiona for leaving because her life and that house was insane.
you just tryin to stick fiona. she is and always has been the worst. selfish, blaming everyone else when she fucks up. and can never admit she is wrong, which she is often
Fiona had multiple times to have an amazing career which would’ve made her taking care of the kids 100x easier , but it’s this Fiona that is the one who always fucks it up herself .
Fiona was selfish. You guys are talking like she is so selfless when she had done so many messed up things and never took accountability, and whenever her actions caused major problems she played the victim. Plus once she found a tiny bit of success she completely stopped caring about her family
Unless the guy told Fiona that he was a user or in recovery, she wouldn't know and wouldn't think to ask. Only reason I figured it out was because the camera showed him staring at the vodka like it had life saving medicine in it.
That's the point... Fiona knows exactly what alcoholism looks like. She also probably knows what someone trying to be sober but is still struggling looks like. Before Fiona started slipping and became an alcoholic, she would have noticed that he was not okay. I think everyone’s forgetting it’s not just the fact that Fiona gave Jason the booze but it was her nonchalant attitude about it. She didn’t give a fuck, so in Lip’s mind, why should he give a fuck about Fiona if she doesn’t give a fuck about anything anymore? It doesn’t justify everything but just because Fiona had a rough childhood (like all of them did) doesn’t give her the right to do whatever she wants. Both of them have valid sides.
I'm gonna politely disagree. I've not watched this show since season 8 I think, but from this clip and the comments, I got a solid grasp. Ultimately, no it was not Fiona's fault at all. Surprisingly, she shared something with someone, who ASKED, which is simply a kind gesture, on a surface level. How is she supposed to know that he's got 100 days clean, or that lip was his sponsor? Unless either of them told her, it falls back on the dude himself. He looks over 18, he's an adult, it is his responsibility to make the right decisions for himself.
Nah i’m ngl, Lip LOST me when he tried to use that point to get angry at her. I hate Lip. Don’t get me wrong, Fiona sure as shit wasn’t perfect and had messed up a few times (like with Liam), but she for the most part always took accountability and was remorseful for her actions. Lip however always blamed her and everyone else for his problems and almost never fully took accountability. Fiona didn’t know he was in recovery, Fiona had no idea because Lip never communicated with her at all. And once Fiona started becoming an addict he was VERY quick to judge her and shame her and basically treat her like shit when all she needed was help.
They inversed in their arcs. The reason Lip is so mad at Fiona is because it’s not just a drinking problem. She’s actively fucking him over with her shit. Seeing your “mother figure” basically go down the same route she warned you not to go down on and pretend like it’s not her fault. You’d likely feel hurt and can’t stand to see someone fall so hard.
I agree. Fiona went through hell to raise Lip, and in the end, all the stress and trauma caught up with her and she went though a dark period, a depressed state, brought in by all the things she had no time to deal with emotionally (which was honestly expected), and Lip just expected her to act perfect all the time. Like, the second she made a bad mistake and fell from grace, it was over and she was no longer useful to Lip. Like he wanted the useful saint or nothing, so he wanted her gone. Lip WAS an alcoholic. Now he’s a recovering alcoholic at this point in the show. Fiona hasn’t even hit her rock bottom yet. Whereas Lip has already been there, done that. Lip had to let Fiona hit rock bottom on her own in order to get her to realize how powerless she really is; and he only wanted what was best for her and chose the tough love route to help her get there. Sometimes that’s the only way to help someone you love. It may not make sense for Fiona (or anyone who can relate to Fiona) or anyone from the outside at that point in time but it will eventually. From what I gather it’s less about her “not helping” and more about being a “nuisance”. But hey, no one is necessarily in the right. There’s no “correct” way do deal with something like this. Even if there was a better way to handle it, there’s still consequences. Say Fiona straightens out right there, then what? Lip probably goes back to his old self. Neither of them would learn anything from this experience if they got it right the first time.

Looking at the comments with people debating which character is more wrong than the other is kind of he beauty of this show. Discussion about those grey areas. Some more dark then others. Fiona is the kind of character who needs to reach bottom to feel the consequences of her actions. Lip knows that. He knows she won't change by herself and he won't wait for her to take responsibility. I don't think any of them is right or wrong. They are doing their best with the tools they were giving. But I think Lip had to do something here and he did. Their way of showing love to each other often was to put them in front of the mirror.
The one who was in the wrong the most was Lip. He never really appreciated Fiona up until she left the show. Fiona was always the one cleaning up after their mess. Lip here is the one looking for problems by trying to adopt a kid that doesn't belong to him. Why is he taking his anger out on her for not knowing anything about a DCFS worker knocking on her door? 1.) It's his fault for not telling her about DCFS. 2.) It's not her business to interfere with his affairs if he didn't talk to her about this arrangement. 3.) It's not Lip's house, so I don't know why he feels entitled to adopt a kid when he's earning minimum wage with no legal rent contract in that house. If Fiona disagrees with Xan living in the house, then it can complicate the adoption process since Lip was thinking about squeezing her siblings in 1 room to provide Xan with her own room. All I see is Lip being narcissistic and an asshole to Fiona when all he's doing is throwing more problems on her for his own selfish benefits. he's become so dependent on Fiona that he expects her to cover for his problems. Lip deserves to live with that pain because he's ungrateful.
What really pissed me off is how when Lip was going through alcoholism, Fiona was always trying to help and bail him out of the fights he got into. But then when she fell into it, all he did was chastise and bully her and kick her out… double standards.

Lip couldve said something, LITERALLY ANYTHING to fiona or any of them. But no, he didn't, so now he had to pay for it. Both situations werent exactly fionas fault, she didnt have to walk around with alcohol on just a regular day and drag someone with her or she couldve made some effort to make lip look good when she realized it was DPS, but ultimately the blame falls on lip.
Now honestly I really feel lip just wanted any reason to get mad at Fiona or to talk down on her because the whole part of that dude getting drunk while he was in recovery was not at all Fiona‘s fault whether or not if she had the alcohol, it was his choice to give in to temptation he was obviously too weak to have that shit around him, and honestly if it wasn’t Fiona then It would’ve been another circumstance causing him to relapsing. Everyone is looking at this based on what these siblings have done, Lip by all means was never perfect it was but it was because of how hard Fiona was on him that he was able to stop his own self destruction, as a younger sibling, it would break my heart to see my sister self destruct like that, Lip wasn't lashing out at her because he was angry, he did it because he was disappointed wit what his sister was doing, she can't expect him to hold himself accountable for his fuck ups if she's not holding herself accountable for hers, at the end of the day he didn't want her becoming anything remotely close to their parents
@@Naidyonov7 just cause your someone's family doesn't mean you have to condone their choices and actions, would u be OK allowing your sis to continue living with you if it means that what happened could repeat itself, sometimes tough love is the best love to give it's sucks, but alot of times it works out, I'm living proof of that, but at the same time, I understand why you feel that way
@@PrinceDevitt_V2 i mean sometimes yes, but Fiona cared for them. And Lip pays her back by showing though love by kicking her out. @@Naidyonov7 like I said I understand but take it from someone who was literally in this same situation when he was 14, I watch my older bro kick out my older sis, and if she were still on the streets today guess what, she'd tell you herself it would be her fault for ending up and remaining in that position, stop making excuses for Fiona she's a grown ass woman who knows right from wrong, like I said Lip was never perfect but then again alot of his decisions never truly led to no one's life being jeopardy, or did you all of a sudden forget what happened to Liam when Fiona had to keep an eye on him, sounds like your the type to let a whole lot of things and people slide no matter how server or fucked up it may be
Fiona also threw Lip out of the house in earlier seasons for way less and when Lip threw her out, Fiona was damaging not only everyone's lives but also her own. She did a lot for all of them but that's not an excuse to drag them all down again.
One of the deepest lines said to Fiona, by Frank of all people, was when he called her an "Angry Drunk". Frank of all people being one of the worst people to judge on being an alcoholic, actually sees right through her and himself and still being able to separate himself as a drunk and a drug addict, from someone who bottles up every emotion they have and releases them when they are drunk. Anger, depression, anxiety. Frank feels these when he is sober. Fiona has had to hide most of these, for the sake of her siblings for years, she can't when she drinks.
@elizahamilton5599 the thing is all of them had moments where they were mimicking their parents the difference is so long as Fiona was sober she would do everything to get them back on the right track instead of doing this
I like fiona tells lip why he didn't tell her dude was coming by. They come by unannounced, and that's the whole point of their job. You think they want you to know they are coming
There were many things I didn't think Lip had the right to be angry over, but this was absolutely one of the times he was justified. I'm glad he kicked her out and was dead serious about it. He saw her becoming Frank. He didn't want to do it all over again.

I agree. Fiona went through hell to raise Lip, and in the end, all the stress and trauma caught up with her and she went though a dark period, a depressed state, brought in by all the things she had no time to deal with emotionally (which was honestly expected), and Lip just expected her to act perfect all the time. @@onomstarrI think you just don't understand much
He made the right call
@@onomstarrLip called her out for fucking up like "old Fiona" would. Just because she had it bad and had to be responsible for siblings doesn't make her immune to having her mistakes called out it's her own standard she's being held to.
When she left, all the good story ideas for the show left too. And finally I did too.
Fiona, Lip, or anybody doesn’t have control over anyone or anything. IMO, Fiona needed this!!! But it is heartbreaking that Lip’s sponsee had to pay the price, though. However, as someone who is in recovery, I think that relapses are all part of the process. Otherwise how can you evolve towards recovery if you’re not making mistakes to learn from them? NO PAIN, NO GAIN!!
are you really justifying him kicking her out after everything she has done for him? she needs help, not to get kicked out of her own house tf
@@matelko333 It’s called tough love. And it worked. I definitely do not justify Fiona continuing down the rabbit hole where it affects the rest of the family. Specifically the younger ones who likely needed their bigger sister sober and back to herself. Not another Frank.
@@mzzanthropy___project no way you just compared Fiona to frank... no fcking way
@@matelko333I didn’t compare Fiona to Frank. Im pretty sure that words are being put in my mouth right now. In context I said she’s better than Frank, and Lip knows that his sister needs help before she completely loses everything!!! Most importantly herself. Fiona immediately ran to V for support. V paid Lip a visit and asked why the animosity towards Fiona. Lip even asks V not to let Fiona stay at her house “if she was really Fiona’s friend and if she truly loves her…” then she’s not going to let Fiona stay at her and Kevs place.
Shameless is one of my favourite shows (both US 🇺🇸 and UK 🇬🇧 versions) Why? Because I can relate to the storyline, characters, and events that occur within the series. @@mzzanthropy___project the point is Fiona did everything for Lip and always supported him. Lip has always been ungrateful and turned around on his family. he could have made his and ALL of theirs life better but he simply REFUSED

fiona is the only one in that family who sacrificed anything for the family.
no she's not, if sacrifice you mean giving coke to the little black one sure
Tbh with you Fiona didn’t owe anyone anything anymore. And that’s the truth. If Fiona wanted to be drunk she can be. Everyone is grown except for Liam and nobody was looking out for Liam, he was taking care of himself. Everyone was blaming their shit on Fiona because she wasn’t helping them anymore but she doesn’t need to. It’s not her responsibility anymore.
Yeah, family doesn’t mean shit to you apparently
While I agree Fiona did everything for them for so long she didn't owe them but she still owed them to not become like their parents and drag them down like Frank and Monica always had, if she was going to spin out she should have left.
@@Nemesis1productions she dealt with lip dropping out of school, getting kicked out of college. She dealt with Ian’s bipolar diagnosis and him being in prison, Carl’s delinquent teenage criminal drug dealer phase and Debby getting pregnant as a teen and still helped them. So she definitely deserved a break and was allowed to make some mistakes. She broke down after all of the things she went through. She didn’t deserve to be treated like that
Guess you have no family, if that's how you think.
Beautifully put! The ethical gray areas are what grounds this show.
He legit said "do you mind"
What really pissed me off is how when Lip was going through alcoholism, Fiona was always trying to help and bail him out of the fights he got into. But then when she fell into it, all he did was chastise and bully her and kick her out… double standards.
That weird smiling thing she does would drive me insane, not gonna lie.
Let this be a lesson to everyone! It doesnt matter how much someone has bent over backwards for you. If they are a drain on you in this moment, cut them off without a moment’s hesitation
She should’ve done that to lip way earlier then
@@myheadhurtbro6692 my bad, I thought it was obvious by my verbiage that I was being sarcastic. She literally raised them against all adversity for years and years and years. Her stint with alcoholism was what, a couple of months or something small like that? No they’re not obligated to help them in turn, nor is anyone, buuuuut I feel like on principle they should want to, in a circumstance like this
Yeah, when someone refuses to help themself you do not have to stick around. You cannot control people and you either let them drag you down or you take them out of your life.
I feel this should not be applied to all situations. If someone has truly bent over backwards for you in the past, they deserve the benefit of the doubt.
Lmao her siblings don’t owe her anything. She’s not a goodness to worship, she’s a selfish alcoholic and narcissist
Lip blaming Fiona for his slip-ups without remorse was his most shameless act
Now honestly I really feel lip just wanted any reason to get mad at Fiona or to talk down on her because the whole part of that dude getting drunk while he was in recovery was not at all Fiona‘s fault whether or not if she had the alcohol, it was his choice to give in to temptation he was obviously too weak to have that shit around him, and honestly if it wasn’t Fiona then It would’ve been another circumstance causing him to relapsing. Another thing lip can’t kick anyone out of the house that’s underneath their name
What an absolutely silly take. Fiona at this time was on a path straight to being Frank. Fiona was taking zero accountability for her actions and despite maybe being a little hypocritical, Lip was absolutely right in everything he said
@@amorantoboy Absolutely not true on lips part lip neither takes accountability himself he always blames everybody else for his shit, but there was a another episode when Fiona got drunk with vee, Vee took accountability for bringing the vodka lip had respond it with “you didn’t shove the alcohol down her throat” The same goes for that guy he was sponsoring she had no idea he was in recovery And she didn’t shove alcohol down his throat either, well like I said he was obviously too weak to be around alcohol so if it wasn’t Fiona that had that shit around him causing him a relapse it would’ve been somebody else that made him give into temptation. The point is lip was a grown ass man that should’ve handled his own shit especially when I came to him trying to adopt that little girl not depending on Fiona when she was going through her hot ass mess era Plus he had no right trying to kick her out that house was underneath her name, it’s not really silly if you watch literally the whole series you see that Lip just had some weird ass competition towards Fiona even before her going through issues with alcohol When she was doing her best doing what she could for her siblings lip and Debbie were the biggest ingrates, lip constantly belittled her and reminding her of her failures
Definitely Fiona fault at this point she was the woman version of frank, itleast lip finally had enough
Well she definitely did nothing to help him… idk how you can saying putting a desired substance in front of someone with addictïon, especially in recovery when you want it the most is his fault… Someone relapsing doesn’t make them “weak,” the body and mind physically push you there. You definitely should not be enabling this.
@@brookelynnwu8016it's not her job to help him.
Lip has some balls to try to kick Fiona out because he feels like an adult for the last year.
The character assassination of fiona as the show went on was just too much
The acting in the scene where he kicks her out is amazing. Everyone in it, even the others on the couch have so much emotion
People like to defend fiona like what she did for her siblings is a get out of jail free card for every bs she did wrong for the rest of her entire existence. Well it isn't,what she did any other older sibling worth a pinch of salt would have done and does every day. And the biggest bs is that she actually showed that card any time it was convenient for her when she did some stupid thing or ruined someone else's life. What people don't realize when they defend her is that every time they do they mention frank and monica being horrible parents while completely disregarding that fiona literally turned into them and acted the exact same way they did. Every thing she did that was messed up was never her fault, all she cared about was herself, being drunk and high and doing anything she could do get that, she brough nothing but Misery and difficulty into the family and others around them. She Turned into frank and always used Frank being a douche to justify her being the same.
Both her and debbie were the most detestable people in this entire series and the worse part is that people like this actually exist.
Yeah Fiona sacraficed a lot for them but that doesn't mean she can just fall in a downward spiral without any comments because of what she did.
Fiona did more than frank the kids were horrible to her every time they was in trouble she was there but when she was in trouble nobody was there everything u said was invalid frank literally left his son in a trap

@@hectorperez5474you are literally doing what the comment says is bullshit to do. Saying that what she's doing is justified or more okay just because frank and Monica were horrible. "Why the hell did you let DCFS in here?" Why wasn't he at home in time to attend his DCFS tour? Why didn't he let Fiona know there was a DCFS worker coming? "Do you have any idea how much you fucked this up for me?" Why is that on Fiona? Why is Lip looking for more problems when he can't even attend a DCFS worker? "The old Fiona would've handled this, would have spun shit, would have covered for me." Why should she do shit for Lip? It's not Fiona's business to receive or help Lip with his affairs. You looked for problems, you fix them. "I know someone waved vodka in his face." No TF she didn't LMAO. Jason himself told him that it wasn't her intentions to make him relapse again; she was looking for Lip, not Jason. "You didn't care enough to know." Like he's the one to talk about caring; its not like he judged and trashed Fiona for being a drunk the same way he was a drunk in university; the difference is Fiona helped him while he pushed her under the bridge. Lip has become so complacent and so dependent and tries to make Fiona look like a halfwit even though she's the only one who actually achieved greater things than him; Lip has no place to talk because he's constantly looking for problems and loves to judge Fiona.
Ok, 1 it is 1000% not Fiona’s fault that the guy relapsed. In this situation it is the person in recovery’s responsibility to not give into their vices, she had no way of knowing that he was in recovery. Now if he said something or if lip mentioned it then that would swing around to it being her fault a little.
2. Fiona is absolutely not responsible for letting DPS or whatever into the house, yes she could have spun the situation to make lip look like a better guy, she’s done it before but again its his responsibility to bring it to the attention of the others a simple “hey, DFS is heading here to check if im a good foster parent make me look good” and she would have lied her ass of for him.
3rd and finnaly, i fucking hate lip in this scene and this part of the series, he is constantly refuseing to communicate to his siblings and makeing his problems theirs Ugg, like i would get it if Fiona was high on cocain like she was with Liam but no she was slightly drunk, what would he have done if frank was there, would he have given him the same speech fucking Hippocrite

Loved these two in the show and the characters. They really had a different level of respect and understanding of each other being the oldest. I also here Lip is most hurt by the fact it was her and that the one that helped him the most is turning into the same type of person their dad was. It's a really good show and really is true to the situations
So he kicked her out. Smart decision...like wtf

I kinda hate how lip treated her how they alll treated her when they got older but i can see lips pov here....
Yes Fiona lost her childhood but that’s no excuse for how she acted. Fiona turned into frank
@elizahamilton5599 the thing is all of them had moments where they were mimicking their parents the difference is so long as Fiona was sober she would do everything to get them back on the right track instead of doing this

Fiona took care of them yes and she saved there asses more times than anyone can count but as soon as they turned 18 they should not have expected it and they were never grateful.
