Everyone seems to forget that the only reason Lip didn't consider Liam is because when Lip was Liam's age he had to take care of himself. When Debbie pointed it out to him, Lip realized he didn't want Liam to grow up the same way he did and he knew he had to step in.
@@gemamba602 Even with Fiona, Lip was one of the older kids and he had to learn to be self-servient. Meanwhile, Liam has always had everyone, not just Fiona, making sure he has what he needs.
This scene ending was a glimpse of old Lip-Liam relationship from way back when Lip took Liam with him everywhere and it warmed my heart 'cause I was seriously pissed off that nobody took into a consideration that Liam is still a kid that needs to be taken care of
I don’t think none of them ever forgot about Liam. Really when you think about it, Liam was a very independent child. He was the youngest, intelligent and probably wouldn’t be so fucked up by upbringing like they were. When he was a baby Liam was always looked after, well loved and protected. That’s why Fiona was haunted by what happened to him with the coke. He was always special to all of them. I think because they were all older with real adult problems, that’s what made Liam be an afterthought, but not intentionally.
For ten seasons the Gallaghers remained proud of their south side roots, upheld the south side code, and shunned gentrification. The show can't end with selling the family home. Selling the Gallagher house would make a mockery of the whole "Shameless" series.
I think the whole point of every characters progression is the realization their lifestyle isn't anything to brag about while Frank is the only notable one. They all actively seek change and I think them selling the home and moving on is a great way to end the series. Hopefully it ends with them all being better off than living in the dump
That's part of the problem though, you can't really fight gentrification and they've shown them trying but ultimately failing every season years now. Besides, frank was the one who had the most pride in it because of his messy status. Sure, they all had a penchant for hating the middle or upper class stuff and people they couldn't have or be, and the snobbery especially. But you can see that the moment each kid including Fiona got to experience better things they started to expect or fight for more. Even Mickey who's more rugged than them understands its failings and trappings
i know lip & tami didn’t talk but when lip mentions it to tami , she’s gonna have an issue . i just know it .. lip shouldnt have to talk to her , he could just tell her because family is family .

@@kaiya4713 I wonder why the people in charge didn’t find someone who could act or just aged him up with the other characters?? Like we see everyone growing up including Debbie but Liam stayed the same
It really makes me mad that they’ve forgotten how intelligent lip is in the newer seasons I hope the seasons don’t end like this he had so much potential!
I pray that Lip sticks to his words and actually gets a nice house so that Liam can have his own room and bathroom because after all that stress they made my boy go through
What I don't get is why they made everyone suddenly stop giving a shit about Liam a couple seasons ago. They were all super dedicated to him and once he grew it felt like the writers didn't know what to do with him anymore. He's a kid, he's young, where he would go live should have been top of everyone's list. I still can't justify story wise why Fiona left him behind, like I get Emmy wanted to leave but Fiona is still his legal guardian, she had responsibilities.
totally agree with you about Fiona there. As for the rest not caring about Liam, you have to acknowledge how they grew up. When Fiona was his age, she was looking after her siblings. When Debbie and Carl were his age, they were financially supporting the household.
True. But they were all looking out for Debby and Carl. They worked and had grown up responsibilities , but the older kids still made an effort to parent them as much as possible. They literally forget Liam exists half the time.
I wanted Kev and V to take him though. They're the only ones who can afford another kid. They're also doing better overall as well compared to everyone else.
@@hellivioze3648 they lost connection because people stopped drinking. Their story lines became based at the Alibi. Apart from Franks, Mickey's story was the only one that played out much at the bar.
It’s so much more then just a TV show... so many families and generations are brought up in the broken “American dream”. So many of us grew up in chaos, disfunction, and day to day survival. To the creators of shameless I can’t thank you enough. This show helped me see my rough upbringing as a dark, cynical comedy instead of a tragedy. That in itself changed my life for the better.
The characters are so real and generally behave in a real way. There is no (or very little) sugar coated fantasy. I think that is why Shameless is such an addiction. I am glad that the show and hindsight has enabled you to reframe your past.
i cannot stand lip 😭 it’s just crazy how he wanted to sell a house he WASNT EVEN LIVING IN without making sure everyone else had somewhere to live. like he didn’t even care about liam until debbie mentioned it
The anger in this thread is misplaced….there is a literal judge scene where Fiona agreed to take care of ALL the kids till they’re 18 even with him saying she’ll have to sacrifice her life. She agrees then up and leaves doing exactly what the judge thought she would. Yes she deserves to have a life but she made a commitment, the others didn’t. She is the one who skirted her responsibility, abandoned him, and left him with no place to go. The rest of them are just trying to navigate through it.
I like to think that Lip didn't "forget" Liam... more like he just assumed Liam knew he was going with him. He's the "oldest" and Liam is the youngest, that means Lip takes care of him until Liam is old enough to get out on his own. Like it wasn't a thought about where he was going because duh. 😂😂 That's probably my trauma talking though.
Looking at these comments a lot of people seem to think Lip just forgot about his brother but he was surprised when told he was looking for places to stay like that wasn't the plan. Does no one think that taking Liam was part of the plan all along and he just didn't think to let him know about it?
@@whosaprettykitty5076 shitty too. when she took responsibility for all of them the judge said. “you have a 2 year old brother that means 16 more years until he’s an adult”. she should of took liam or something. she was suppose to take care of him bc she agreed to be legal guardian. i dont think the writers were thinking when they had her leave lmfao
Honestly, this episode just goes to show how much Fiona avoided her responsibilities. A judge told her that there was no changing her mind. that the kids came first even if she wanted her life back. She chose to be their legal guardian. She agreed to do whats in their best interest. Whats worse is that Liam doesn't even know that she is a legal guardian considering he was only 2 at the time when it happened.
But the thing is, leaving was one of the best interest because she was spiraling down from not caring about herself the whole time. Yes it was extremely irresponsible to leave liam like this but she couldn't take him either since she wasnt going to be visiting often or near the family
@@mavanachhakchhuak8198 Then why not transfer guardianship. She could've given him to kev and V or even filed for half custody with lip. There's so much fiona could have done but didn't.
One thing that i caught was when Liam asks Debbie who his legal guardian was she said she didn’t know. She was literally there when Fiona gained partial custody
This show is so good hate to se it end after 11 season. Wish the cast and crew good luck on their next chapter of their lives. I watch the old season just to remind me how it all started.
The best ending to the show would be: v and Kevin move to Tennessee with her mom, giving the bar to lip/the Gallaghers which solves lips money issues. Frank dies to his dementia diagnosis, and everyone including fiona (with boyfriend jimmysteve), sheila, etc returns for his funeral. Lip renames the alibi to Franks in honor of their dad.
I think their time in jail makes it harder. Also, they don't have a place yet. I know plenty of people who secretly lived with someone as kids, but if they want it to be legal Lip is a better option. Although overall I wanted it to be Kevin and V.
I don't get why everyone's so pissed lol I loved this scene. So sweet. It was unspoken that he would be moving in with one of them, and I think Lip is the perfect choice.
So many plot holes in this season. How do they not know that Fiona is liam’s guardian and that she owns the house? Like her name is on the deed. Also why did lip fight cami and turn down a free house in Wisconsin to stay in Chicago with his family but now wants to sell the house. Because he doesn’t have no where to live but will not live with cami’s family. So sad that the series went down since Fiona left.
I Guess no one got that the reason he was surprised and confused that Liam was looking for a place is because he had no intentions on leaving Liam behind. That’s why he apologized because he didn’t tell Liam the plan.
I am so furious with Fiona about this. Yes she was entitled to her own life but she told the judge she wanted to be a guardian for the children, even after the judge told her it would be a lot of years before she had her own life because of how young Liam was. Then she just left. She didn't sign over guardianship of Liam to Lip before she left or even afterwards. Instead Liam had to go find Frank when he had problems, such as school, because none of his adult siblings could do any of that. Even worse is this situation with Liam, being so scared and not knowing what would happen to him when Lip wanted to sell the house (which btw Fiona had the title of) so he went to Veronica and Kev and asked if he could live with them and even to dcfs to ask about foster care. All that wouldn't have happened if Fiona had signed over guardianship to Lip. If the series had continued after Frank died then Liam would have been left without anyone who could legally help him.
im glad Liam is staying with lip but at the same time liam should've been their first priority, he's literally 11 where do you expect him to live, he can't just stay on his own.
Ian, Mickey, Carl, Liam and Debbie don't want to sell the house. Frank and likely Fiona don't want to either. Lip fucked his life up if he graduated college for Engineering or whatever he was studying he could likely afford a better house for himself and his own family in the Southside or somewhere else. He thinks just yelling and announcing decisions for everyone is an effective negotiation tactic.
i don’t really like who lip has become. he had so so so much potential and dropped out only to get tami pregnant and have a baby and work in a shop. no more school. no nice GOOD paying jobs. NOTHING. that irritated me so much. he could of gone so far in life with how smart he was. probably could of been fucking rich. own his own engineering company or something. but he never lived up to his potential.
@@cloroxbleach8661 he got kicked out of college long before Tami. He slept with this hot Prof he was clearly in love with and that Amanda chick who had feelings for him when he thought they just had a friends with benefits thing going leaked a topless photo of the prof out of pure jealousy which got the prof suspended or something and she stopped talking to Lip. Then Lip got drunk and cussed Prof Yuens in his class out of frustration with his relationship troubles and smashed his car then Yuens bailed him out of jail. Then he broke into the hot prof's house drunk but was so hammered like Frank he didn't realize where he was or what he was doing she told him he had to leave and get help and never called the cops on him. Then he joined AA and met Brad who is Tami's brother in law and they later hooked up and he got her pregnant this leads to the present. Yuens also went to jail for another DUI and died in prison and I think Lip named his own kid Fred after Yuens which i think was his first or middle name.
Ian and Mickey were happy to move to a new place. Carl fixed up the basement for himself. Debbie in 1 room, lip and Tami in another, Liam in the 3rd bedroom and I'm pretty sure that they could have turned the attic into a bedroom for Franny and lips kid. Then by the time Franny needed a room of her own Carl would probably have moved out so she could have the basement. Also, Carl's cop partner suggested turning the Alibi into a cop bar so maybe Carl could have moved into the flat upstairs with Ian and Mickey running it. Problem solved
I was raised with a huge family and we all lived down the road from each other and now we all moved states away and all we do is plan on getting together again. But I also loved having tons of cousins around and in school . I have 14 built in friends 😂

Fast-forward to today and Lip practically forgot Liam existed... Those siblings have all been through so much but I've never felt as sorry for any of them as Liam because he's basically been entirely alone in this situation.
Well in fairness did Fiona have any plans for Liam when she walked out on him
YES oh my god no one pays any attention to Liam and it’s been bothering me for the past few episodes. I agree, they should have immediately established that of course Liam was gonna live with one of them if they sold. Literally Frank is the one showing the most interest in Liam’s life and it’s so sad, like I know everyone has their own lives, but none of the people who are supposed to take care of him are doing a good job.
Lip not realizing that his young teenage brother might not have a place to stay says all you need to know about how much he cares about his siblings
@tired &hungry I can agree that Lip has a lot on his plate, but I disagree that you can compare older season Lip to current Lip. The same Lip who would have dropped out of school for Liam would punch current Lip in the face for the shit his doing. It took Debbie reminding him that not all his sibling at adults for him to run over and talk to Liam

Lip had his own life too,his own kid and partner. I agree he was wrong in forgetting liam and had responsibility to take care of him which he did accept himself too.
Everyone seems to forget that the only reason Lip didn't consider Liam is because when Lip was Liam's age he had to take care of himself. When Debbie pointed it out to him, Lip realized he didn't want Liam to grow up the same way he did and he knew he had to step in.
But when Lip was Liam's age he still had Fiona, so he didn't have to take care of himself alone (I think)
@@gemamba602 Even with Fiona, Lip was one of the older kids and he had to learn to be self-servient. Meanwhile, Liam has always had everyone, not just Fiona, making sure he has what he needs.
But he still had a roof over his head. It’s one thing working to make money for family. Totally different situation being completely homeless.
@gemamba602 but when fiona was mess drunk or on drug lip step in to take his young sibling and liam and take care of them.
Selling the Gallagher house would make a mockery of the whole "Shameless" series.
the writers have pissed me off since season 7
For me even longer, but it’s hard to know when really lost their touch
I think the whole point of every characters progression is the realization their lifestyle isn't anything to brag about while Frank is the only notable one. They all actively seek change and I think them selling the home and moving on is a great way to end the series. Hopefully it ends with them all being better off than living in the dump
no it wouldn’t lol
That's part of the problem though, you can't really fight gentrification and they've shown them trying but ultimately failing every season years now.
Besides, frank was the one who had the most pride in it because of his messy status. Sure, they all had a penchant for hating the middle or upper class stuff and people they couldn't have or be, and the snobbery especially.
But you can see that the moment each kid including Fiona got to experience better things they started to expect or fight for more. Even Mickey who's more rugged than them understands its failings and trappings
I wanna believe that if Fiona was there it wouldn't have even been a conversation because Liam would've known where he was going.
i know lip & tami didn’t talk but when lip mentions it to tami , she’s gonna have an issue . i just know it .. lip shouldnt have to talk to her , he could just tell her because family is family .
She will have an issue, and rightfully so, because once again lip made a major life decision without consulting her. And while obviously lip should be responsible for Liam taking on another child on top of their baby for the next 7 years is not gonna be a walk in the park
@@KittyKatTube agreed but she shouldn’t have an issue because like i said .. family is family . she can have an issue but she can’t tell him no & lip is to take care of liam not tami , lip has done it before & liam is growing , he’s doing things on his own .
I don’t know why she’s going to have an issue first of all because that’s his little brother and if they sell the house he’s going to be on the street so she better not even start anything that’s number one
@@KittyKatTube Honestly she shouldn’t have an issue that’s his little brother and he’s worried that he’s going to be homeless Liam isn’t like the other Gallaghers he’s not crazy he’s not in insane he’s perfectly stable and he’s only 10 so there’s no reason or no excuse why they wouldn’t take him in
@@ansutoure5583 agreed lol .. but yk tami .
It just me or does it feel like Liam suddenly became part of the plot now?? Like yeah he’s been there from the beginning but it’s like the writers forgot about him and someone pointed out the youngest Gallagher sibling still being a child and they’re like oh shit we forgot about him
it’s because the previous liam actors were too young/couldn’t act that well, so he didn’t really have his own storyline.
@@kaiya4713 I wonder why the people in charge didn’t find someone who could act or just aged him up with the other characters?? It really makes me mad that they’ve forgotten how intelligent lip is in the newer seasons I hope the seasons don’t end like this he had so much potential!
Lip should've mentioned that when he proposed to sell the house. I'm sure we all had that question on our minds. "Where's Liam going to live?"
When Liam asked who his legal guardian was, I was yelling "FIONA!" at the TV
Flashbacks to season 4 when Lip was looking after Liam.
They worked and had grown up responsibilities
, but the older kids still made an effort to parent them as much as possible. They literally forget Liam exists half the time.

"I want Franny to have what I had"
Did she forget all about her horrible childhood...??
I feel like Debbie always had a more positive attitude about all that than everyone else.
It was bad but they were together. There was alot of good too.
Debbie is 100% making excuses because she’s too dependent on her brothers for safety and free babysitting
*shameless characters ignoring fiona's part in raising all of them and literally being their LEGAL guradian for a couple of episodes straight*
Looking at these comments a lot of people seem to think Lip just forgot about his brother but he was surprised when told he was looking for places to stay like that wasn't the plan. Does no one think that taking Liam was part of the plan all along and he just didn't think to let him know about it?
Isn’t Fiona the legal guardian of all of them?
Her and Frank share custody of the kids
Only of liam all of the are legal adults
They grown she has legal custody of liam
They’re all grown now expect Liam. He’s the only person she still has custody of
@@whosaprettykitty5076 shitty too. when she took responsibility for all of them the judge said. “you have a 2 year old brother that means 16 more years until he’s an adult”. she should of took liam or something. she was suppose to take care of him bc she agreed to be legal guardian. i dont think the writers were thinking when they had her leave lmfao
11 is my favorite number and this is a great way to finish this story
How was this not a discussion sooner? He's a kid still not an adult
That's what I'm saying
Writers got amnesia
But the thing is, leaving was one of the best interest because she was spiraling down from not caring about herself the whole time. Yes it was extremely irresponsible to leave liam like this but she couldn't take him either since she wasnt going to be visiting often or near the family
@@mavanachhakchhuak8198 Then why not transfer guardianship. She could've given him to kev and V or even filed for half custody with lip. There's so much fiona could have done but didn't.
Emmy was leaving the show, not the actor who was playing Liam. He wanted to be in the show. That's why Fiona left him with his siblings.
My favourite scene of the entire episode. IT'S JUST SO SWEET!!!!!!!!!!
Im a guy, this scene made me a lul emotional 😢 i feel the “wrapping it up” im glad they/lip finally had a talk w liam.
The writers make the family forget about Liam about as much as they do themselves. Fiona left and her custody of Liam was forgotten too.
One thing that i caught was when Liam asks Debbie who his legal guardian was she said she didn’t know. She was literally there when Fiona gained partial custody
She must have assumed that was a temporary thing.
Lip always has the coolest jackets.
What a good brother. At least he was the only one to take him in
This scene was so good lol
This show is so good hate to se it end after 11 season. Wish the cast and crew good luck on their next chapter of their lives. I watch the old season just to remind me how it all started.
In my opinion the siblings that was the closest was: Fiona/Carl. Lip/Ian. And Debbie/Liam.
Lip renames the alibi to Franks in honor of their dad.
i love liam he deserves the world
I want Liam to live with Ian and Mickey
I think their time in jail makes it harder. Also, they don't have a place yet. I know plenty of people who secretly lived with someone as kids, but if they want it to be legal Lip is a better option. Although overall I wanted it to be Kevin and V.
Liam was my favorite character
*That is the best thing lip said to Liam the whole season*
I love Liam 🥰🥰🥰
I don't get why everyone's so pissed lol I loved this scene. So sweet. It was unspoken that he would be moving in with one of them, and I think Lip is the perfect choice.

You can see how happy Liam was. Lip telling Liam he won’t be alone or homeless meant there world to him. #brotherlove
Mmmmm yeah brotherlove...
So sad that the series went down since Fiona left.
why the fuck did they not have this conversation to begin with?
I can just see the last shot of the show is a huge family dinner
I Guess no one got that the reason he was surprised and confused that Liam was looking for a place is because he had no intentions on leaving Liam behind. That’s why he apologized because he didn’t tell Liam the plan.
Adoro shameless.... cosa possiamo fare a convincerli a produrre anche la stagione 12. IAN e MICHEY coppia favolosa
I love Lip so much
I am so furious with Fiona about this.
I have to wait for it to be on Netflix to watch it, and I keep spoiling for myself by watching these damn clips!
It is better late then never. I am happy Debbie told lip because he and tami were not thinking about Liam or franny.
When is the last episode going to air??
THE LEGAL GUARDIAN IS FIONAAAAA
im glad Liam is staying with lip but at the same time liam should've been their first priority, he's literally 11 where do you expect him to live, he can't just stay on his own.
10 seasons we were told to love Lip and this is what we get. Karmaaaaaa.
We all know that it's not for franny it's for her, she don't like to be alone
