I miss Patrick, he defined the 80,s & 90s, a Hella human being. R.I.P. 😢. Such a tragedy. I'm literally tears., this movie had suan impact on me in my late teens. That i took off to Mexico and lived, really lived for a yr..
Young Patrick Even younger Keanu Gary Busey has been old all my life 😂😂😂 These are the movies that helped make the 90s the last great decade. I'm so glad i was there. What a time to be alive. ♥️♥️♥️
Keanu didn't dive with them. He had a stunt double taking his place. Swayze is awesome. He actually did the final dive on his own without permission from the studio
I started jumping a couple months before this movie came out so I understood a little what the guys in the movie were doing and how amazing it was. Point Break brought LOTS of new jumpers out. During the next years I saw Patrick Swayze a few times at the SoCal drop zones, and he was a very nice, very regular guy; just another jumper. But I admit looking across a 12-jumper formation one time and thinking to myself, "Hey, cool, that's Patrick Swayze!"
he ends up getting the one he started with, I remember tracking where the bags were when I was a kid when watching this not sure if they were pulling a fast one on him. lol. Such a boss film.
To quote Johnny Utah, "Amazing, fucking amazing." I don't care if this is realistic, it's so peaceful. Just an awesome piece of film. The music, cinematography, the actors reactions, I love this clip. I don't do drugs, I'm not an extreme sports guy, but that is a downright eophoric piece of film right there.
I love Point Break. It inspired me to do my first jump. I saw this movie 10 times at the cinema. One of the best films ever. I even have an original UK Quad poster on my wall. We miss you Mr Swayze. Bodhi rules.
Patrick Swayze. What an icon. Such range. Being in Ghost, Road House, and playing Bodhi. No new movie remake can replace or even capture a hint of what this movie meant to a lot of us. TOP 10 90's movies 💙
I saw this movie 10 times at The Point Cinema in Milton Keynes. What a classic movie. And to jump out of a plain is a blast. I luv it. WE miss you Patrick.
Just watched this film for the first time, this scene is one of the best scenes in any film. Its just i dont know simple, as the other guy said spiritual. You feel as if you're up in the sky with them... Great music too, really goes with the scene. Mark Isham is a genius.
Yup. This scene gave me inspiration to sky dive myself. A couple of goofs though. When Johnny looks down, his body stayed parallel to the ground. That wouldn't be possible. The first thing they tell you is, don't look down. Look to the horizon. You look down, airflow will flip you upside down. That occurred during my dive. When we jumped out, I immediately looked down and we flipped upside down. At one point, I was facing up looking at the plane. The instructor flipped us back pretty quickly. 30 seconds of freefall, followed by floating through air.
I did my very first skydive after seeing this back in the day. One of the most exciting things I've done in my life. The school was Air Adventures West in Taft CA. Except for Patrick Swayze, the actual real jumpers in the movie were seasoned instructors who worked there. There were even pictures of them on jumps from the scenes in the office, it was very cool. Patrick Swayze actually did his own jumps. The jump footage of him in the movie having fun was real.
Im forty and this film is the shit swayze was the man when i was a teenager and still is in my opinion im even prepared to overlook dirty dancing as my wife loves it. In fact she loves it so much we had time of our life as our first dance and needless to say i looked an idiot. R.I.P Dude. oh and two words Road House!
Exactly, it's because your brain doesn't have any objects to compare speeds and calculate to like it does when it comes to rollar coasters or driving. Your brain doesn't realize you are moving. So it just feels like you are stuck in mid air.
This is an awesome scene but the most unrealistic part is that when you are free falling you cannot hear a thing, certainly cannot talk to one another lol.
If it happens in Imax, brah, I'm there with my tie-dye tee, 3 quarter cut cargo pants, quiksilver bright yellow & blue hoodie and my hair grown out to my shoulders. I wanna go back to the 90's....if only for 123-of-the-most-glorious-minutes that ever occurred in my life. And I'll probably cry manly-happy tears!
Priceless how the are speaking in freefall and "he 's never done it before" and is just doing a nice relativ work on his first jump lol. And yeah its not a ripcord it's a Pilot Chute you pull out :D So Funny :DDD
i went on my first FREE FALL jump the next ay after I saw that scene ... i didn't do fake way with person riding me lol i learned correct way LOTS work and school "LOOK reach PULL" will never leave my mind!
@cannywf1 Also depends on the plane. Larger planes (15-22 people) usually jump from 13,500 feet. Smaller airports tend to use smaller planes (4-5 people) that go to around 10,500 feet.
a 5 minute free fall...That would mean they jumped at a height of at least 85,000 feet. Just for everyone's knowledge, a standard skydive is around 14,000 feet where the free fall lasts about 1 minute. If they did jump at that height, (highly unlikely). They would have needed oxygen and pressurized suits to keep them alive. Awesome scene but Hollywood obviously exaggerated
fantastic scene! the music and scenary makes it. ive only ever done a 10,000ft tandem dive. would love to go again! swayze was also an acomplished skydiver! rip
I always loved the way Swayze called for him as if nothing happened. In the previous scene Reeves tells him hes an undercover cop spying on him, the irony of it is funny as fuck.
Just watching this scene, I think it's one of the best in movie history. Just look at the camera shots and the back drop while the scene in in progress. A person can say U can't get no closer to god if you believe in him and that has to be true. I truly love this scene and it give me clarity each and every time I watch it. 5 stars to the director and the actors that took part in movie history........
Even though this isn't my favourite film of all time, actually far from it. I still, however regard this as my favourite movie scene of all time because of it's ability to stir up emotions within me. The music is superb, the acting and stunts were on point. This section of the film just felt 'special'.
got that right I know we had to pull at 5000 my first jump though it is a tandom so might be different for single jumpers though i know the auto open sensor on the chutes open at 1900
Never realized how the 1st few bars of the score when they jump out of the plane bears a striking resemblance to some of John Barry's score from James Bond: Moonraker, which also featured some similar skydiving scenes in the pre-credits sequence.
If they were jumping out of a C-17, then I could maybe, just maybe see them chuting up a mere 3 minutes from green light. However, in the narrow confines of a King Air, ahhhhhhhhhh, I dunno....
This movies annoying ive watched it about 20 times and still can't stop watching the dam movie:).Why did Patrick swayze have to die, love his movies and watching his interview with his wife and how much he loved his wife,im getting all soppy. Brillant movie, the scene just makes me want to jump out of a fucking plane, haha probably crazy but you get to point in your life were you've just got to enjoy life, and live life to the full
I know Swayze actually jumped in the one scene towards the end of this flick where he jumps out and says adios amigo that was real at the least the jump portion of that scene was till they cut back to the plane... I dont know if John Philbin (Nathaniel) did any skydiving but I know him and BoJessie Christopher (grommit) are both pro surfers
@cannywf1 sounds awesome! I love the first scene when all 5 skydivers jump out of this plane...its so real watching them just accept that your falling..gain compsure..and then have fun with it.. Ahhh!!! I have gotta do this...cannywtf will you tandem with me ? lol
Skydiving is a rush, and now think about Felix Baumgartner and his jump! My first jump I couldn't say Geronimo it was like WTF I am doing on the wheel of this plane,,, OH SHI*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No CGI, no Green Screen, is just an amazing scene.

The camera work and musical score are absolutely stunning

Audio is off a little bit but great clip 👌
This is probably the most memorable sky dive scene in any film. After all these years, it's still incredible.
Especially w sunglasses on lol
I listen to the score at night ,in the stars. I let it take me away
Best skydiving scene movie history
Scratch the fact that even 10yr old me at the time was like "how are they just talking to each other"
Bonjour @@Mr.majic_cracker quel est la partition de de cette musique j'aimerais bien l'écouter la nuit moi aussi
Beautiful... and what a beautiful spirit Swayze was as he lived his life
Truer words never spoken. He really was "bodi" ...
Young Patrick
Even younger Keanu
Gary Busey has been old all my life 😂😂😂
These are the movies that helped make the 90s the last great decade. I'm so glad i was there.
What a time to be alive. ♥️♥️♥️
Mark ishams musical piece is pure magic, nothing like it in cinema since.
I listen to it often it is very inspiring very uplifting.
The artistry in the music and imagery of Lake Powell and the spirit of the scene make this one of the best movie scenes of all time in my opinion.
The music is the magic here.
This scene is exactly what got me into skydiving. Awesome score, too!
Keanu didn't dive with them. He had a stunt double taking his place. Swayze is awesome. He actually did the final dive on his own without permission from the studio
C'est cool ça 😊
*This movie marked an era and is what led me to skydive once!! What you experience on the flight is similar to what they show here hahaha😌💫😃✨😀☀️💯😬*
I started jumping a couple months before this movie came out so I understood a little what the guys in the movie were doing and how amazing it was. Point Break brought LOTS of new jumpers out. Yup I started jumping after this film came out
Still get chills after all these years watching this! Thanks for sharing!
Amazing film, never get tired of watching and the soundtrack is amazing
he ends up getting the one he started with, I remember tracking where the bags were when I was a kid when watching this not sure if they were pulling a fast one on him. lol. Such a boss film.
This is actually a really beautiful scene.
Still gives me chills decades later.
Can you imagine how soulless a 2024 version would be... All CGI. 80's & 90's are the peak for film making imo.
this whole movie had such an effect on me as a young kid growing up in california. favorite movie of all time.
It's the music for me. Amazing. Fucking Amazing
@@Mr.majic_crackeryeah honestly without the music of Mark Isham this scene would be nothing.
I love Point Break. It inspired me to do my first jump. I saw this movie 10 times at the cinema. One of the best films ever. I even have an original UK Quad poster on my wall. We miss you Mr Swayze. Bodhi rules.
Mark Ishams music is what made this scene, the man is a composing genius!!!
Totally agree
His music is awesome
“Some guy snort for it, jab a vein for it, and all you have to do is jump” very true lol
Patrick Swayze's character would be dead as shit pulling the ripcord that late.
This scene is freaking awesome. It's definilty my favorite scene in the entire movie and we get to see Patrick do amazing stunts on air.
The music score by Mark Isham is incredible
Patrick Swayze. What an icon. Such range. Being in Ghost, Road House, and playing Bodhi.
No new movie remake can replace or even capture a hint of what this movie meant to a lot of us. TOP 10 90's movies 💙
I watched this movie dozen of times and every time it's simply " amazing... f....ing amazing". Love it!!!!
One of the best scenes ever
*Totally AWESOME....Wowwwww* :) *Patrick Swayze (RIP)*
It's between Swayze and Farley. Re: your quote, ("Swayze's the MAN")... lol
And yes RIP Brotherman Patrick.
OK....LOL
You DO remember Swayze and Chris Farley on snl... hilarious!!
Sad that so many of us have never experienced a BroShip like these guys!
"1,000 feet, pull"
LOL At that height you have about 5 seconds till you spat on the ground. They are having a debate.
This upload is F**KING AMAZING!!!
just to let you all know, Patrick Swayze made most of the jumps you see there. his mom still lives in north hollywood ca. he is sure missed!! R.I.P.
I saw this movie 10 times at The Point Cinema in Milton Keynes. What a classic movie. And to jump out of a plain is a blast. I luv it. WE miss you Patrick.
this scene gives me chills. i love it
"1000 feet pull." How did they not splat mid convo? 😂
New addition to bucket list
I loved tis movie so much I went sky diving because of it
possibly one of the greatest movie scenes ever.
Highly recommended movie
Just watched this film for the first time, this scene is one of the best scenes in any film. Its just i dont know simple, as the other guy said spiritual. You feel as if you're up in the sky with them...
Great music too, really goes with the scene. Mark Isham is a genius.
I love this movie, it's one of my all time favs. this is one of my fav scenes in the movie, I love the music.
It is out on blu-ray. I've got it. Awesome movie, absolute classic, gutted they're remaking it too.

I just skydived the other day! And it is for the first few seconds but after a while, it doesn't feel like you're moving at all.
I like the friendship between Bodhi and Johnny even though
they are on opposite sides of the law. They really cared for each other.
This scene was the reason i did my first sky dive !
If it happens in Imax, brah, I'm there with my tie-dye tee, 3 quarter cut cargo pants, quiksilver bright yellow & blue hoodie and my hair grown out to my shoulders. One of the best made scenes in cinema history. Amazing.
This is my favorite movie scene of all time, and i agree with you totally...........who conducts the score in the scene
thumbs up if you want Point Break re-released into theatres
So amazing, I saw this in 91 I was 17 🤷♂️ now I’m fn 50!!!😢lol
Just rewatched this movie the other day. Its dated.. but still pretty solid
Beautiful, just what it's like... Ciarán D11292!
Сказочная сцена высшего порядка...
i wish i had 3 minutes and 40 seconds of freefall every time i jumped.
amazing scene though.
Priceless how the are speaking in freefall and "he 's never done it before" and is just doing a nice relativ work on his first jump lol. And yeah its not a ripcord it's a Pilot Chute you pull out :D So Funny :DDD

This is out in on Blu Ray in JUNE. GOt it preordered. You can beat this shit, fuckin A man etc etc.

Awesome scene but Hollywood obviously exaggerated
about fucking time someone put a high quality version of this scene, gives me the chills every time
great!!the best film ever!!
Years later I don't understand why Johnny agreed to jump with very obvious antagonists
They all shared a common interest and a love for adventure and an adrenaline rush!
is it like a roller coaster when u fall..that butterfly feeling?
fantastic scene! the music and scenary makes it. ive only ever done a 10,000ft tandem dive. would love to go again!
swayze was also an acomplished skydiver! rip

Friendship
this films amazing
Five foot walls of zeros bro let's go
This is one awsome scene. Ok lets fly.
The big Wednesday of 90s
That'd be awesome if they did re-release it
I want my jumps to last 4 minutes. lol
One of the many stunning sequences in this all time classic. As actioners go, there’s very few better

una de mis mejores peliculas de policia, son muy buenos los saltos en paracaidas acompañado con una buena banda sonora, gracias por el aporte
Playback is .75
you're supposed to cut-away before entering water as the chute can drown you
6:36 is this technique still taught? So the canopy doesn’t land on top of you in a water landing? Im still learning!
Mark Isham - Skydiving Formation
Wow, 3+ minute freefalls, talking to each other at terminal velocity, WHAT FREAKING PLANET ARE THEY ON????
What a Movie
haha on my first jump i couldnt even hear myself shouting

Pull at 1000'? Holy &*$% hearing that and then the wait made me squirm. BSBD
Heading out skydiving today. Partially because of this movie. Lets Rock and Roll!
AMAZING! FUCKING AMAZING! THIS IS THE MOVIE!PZ'S BEST WORK!

The scene was done with a machine that hovers you. You're not going to freefall that long. You're lucky u have 10 seconds.
