Are you kidding? This movie is crap by today's standards of acting and writing, and I was a kid during the 80's and 90's so I have plenty of experience. I never saw this movie specifically, but YT recommended it to me so I watched the clip. I started laughing immediately at how 80's/90's cheesy it was. I went and read the plot on wiki, and holy shit lol. I laughed even more. And I never realized surfer/ocean movies had their own personal cliché (the 50 year storm in this case) which is also very cringey. This movie solidified that notion for me. Just wow. This is some of the most tacky crap I have ever witnessed lol. It's ok to love it if you grew up with it, but holy sh*t. If you didn't grow up with it, this film is almost objectively laughable.

He was up against murdering bank robbers and he left his entire back exposed. Roach walked right out of that side room, saw Pappas, and quietly took his shotgun out of his bag, all without Pappas knowing. Pappas should have at least put some body armor on. Standard police body armor would stop a 12 gauge. He’d have some broken ribs and a hell of a bruise but he’d survive it.
As more of his crew gets killed Bohdi cares less and less. Look at his reaction when the first one gets killed in the bank, then the next one in the airport and the last one in the desert.

But I’m sure the death of his younger brother Grommet hit him the hardest. He killed the cop who shot Grommet with no regret or remorse whatsoever.

Sorry, but you could be Hercules and not be able to hold on when that chute opened. Opening shock is just too violent. It also irritates me how movies omit that parachutes have leg straps that you HAVE to strap otherwise the chute would rip free of your arms and back. Parachutes are not jackets. Did over 50 jumps in the Army. You cannot underestimate the ability of the opening shock or wind to rip things away.
Point Break is one of a few films that has a ending before the ending it is a masterpiece Bodhi telling Johnny " I'll see you in the next life" meant 2 things the here after and seeing him again a year later Bodhi's gang was all dead he was alone and all he had was the 50 year wave to ride then Bodhi went to the here after Brilliant film it is my all time favorite movie.

There is nothing "original" about that film (and there isn't much original about this film). What made this film work were the character dynamics. All those dynamics change after this and it takes a heck of a writer to make a chase film with known characters truly engaging instead of formulaic. Johnny only wants to see Bodhi go down and Bodhi couldn't give a shit about Johnny. How are you going to force Bodhi and Johnny to team up again in a way that isn't obviously dumb plot? Because the film will need them to team up again. Hobbs allowing Toretto to go free and live his life in LA was one of the dumbest things I've ever seen in film. And that includes Jeff Goldblum being able to upload an improvised, self-coded virus from his 1990s laptop to a previously unknown interstellar alien ship whose language he has no prior experience with and shut down its shields.

despite seeing the blood pack, it makes you appreciate SPECIAL FX and just the little things you can spot in a film, whilst loving it. Good teacher. if you want a perfect film, lots more work. accepting it how it is. classic

Very clever character moment - when Swazy wouldn’t let her go before he jumped, proved to Keanu that he was a sociopath - leading to him knowing he’d have to drop the gun and pull the shoot himself.
They could do Point Break 2 with Keanu Reeves, son's Bodhi, revenges his father 34 years later...how hard could be this made? No big budget, no CGI and woke shi*, just a good action story ...
Still better than 99.9% of movies made today.

This movie is a timeless, absolute badassery masterpiece from start to finish. One of those films you're thankful they exist.

Very clever character moment - when Swazy wouldn’t let her go before he jumped, proved to Keanu that he was a sociopath - leading to him knowing he’d have to drop the gun and pull the shoot himself.
