      Are you kidding? This movie is crap by today's standards of acting and writing, and I was a kid during the 80's and 90's so I have plenty of experience. I never saw this movie specifically, but YT recommended it to me so I watched the clip. I started laughing immediately at how 80's/90's cheesy it was. I went and read the plot on wiki, and holy shit lol. I laughed even more. And I never realized surfer/ocean movies had their own personal cliché (the 50 year storm in this case) which is also very cringey. This movie solidified that notion for me. Just wow. This is some of the most tacky crap I have ever witnessed lol. It's ok to love it if you grew up with it, but holy sh*t. If you didn't grow up with it, this film is almost objectively laughable.

It also irritates me how movies omit that parachutes have leg straps that you HAVE to strap otherwise the chute would rip free of your arms and back. Parachutes are not jackets. Did over 50 jumps in the Army. You cannot underestimate the ability of the opening shock or wind to rip things away.

    Point Break is one of a few films that has a ending before the ending it is a masterpiece Bodhi telling Johnny " I'll see you in the next life" meant 2 things the here after and seeing him again a year later Bodhi's gang was all dead he was alone and all he had was the 50 year wave to ride then Bodhi went to the here after Brilliant film it is my all time favorite movie.

      You're right! That would have been an awesome and amazing ending! It would have set the stage for a great part 2 if you include the same actors and director.

    • @aaronleverton4221
      @aaronleverton4221 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@keithb372 If you end the film here and then make a sequel the sequel is a standard thriller with a known cop chasing a known bad guy who knows the cop is chasing him. There is nothing "original" about that film (and there isn't much original about this film). What made this film work were the character dynamics. All those dynamics change after this and it takes a heck of a writer to make a chase film with known characters truly engaging instead of formulaic.
      Johnny only wants to see Bodhi go down and Bodhi couldn't give a shit about Johnny. How are you going to force Bodhi and Johnny to team up again in a way that isn't obviously dumb plot? Because the film will need them to team up again.
      Hobbs allowing Toretto to go free and live his life in LA was one of the dumbest things I've ever seen in film. And that includes Jeff Goldblum being able to upload an improvised, self-coded virus from his 1990s laptop to a previously unknown interstellar alien ship whose language he has no prior experience with and shut down its shields.

    The perception of Bodhi really changes throughout the course of the movie. He comes across as a cool Zen surfer guy, the kind of person you would want as a friend in real life, but you eventually discover he's just a greedy, self centered criminal who doesn't care about what happens to the rest of his crew. Everyone is expendable to him.
