I loved Patrick Swayze in this movie I think its his best performance. He is one bad guy in this and both he and Keanu Reeves were spot on in Point Break. This scene Johnny is being taken to a bank robbery with his girlfriend Tyler being held hostage. The Ex Presidents were superb at robbing banks but this time on getting into the bank with Utah coming along too, Bodhi takes it too far. He breaks the rules his team set. They are unaware an armed police officer is present among the hostages in the bank. While the clock is ticking the officer decides to try to stop the robbery with a security guard and shoots Bodhi and Utah. This robbery has gone badly wrong and when the 2 men Bodhi has sent to the vault return one is shot too. Bodhi recovers and kills the Officer but cannot save his friend who is dead because of him. So the team escape with what they have but this robbery was a total disaster. Great scene!
He was a great actor without doubt. Women loved him for Dirty Dancing, he was excellent in Ghost too but this was a very different role for him. In Point Break he was the bad guy. But he shone and was brilliant. Its my favourite Swayze role definatley!
Dear God, I've seen this movie hundreds of times and just realized that the bank guard is the spitting image of Kevin from the Office. How is there not a deep fake of that somewhere on the Internet?

You are right that this situation is different. In a situation like a bank robbery, there is a very high likelihood that if you do just give the robbers everything they want they will not hurt anyone. According to FBI statistics, Bank robbery deaths are virtually nonexistent, and when they do happen it's usually the robbers who are killed. However, to criticize the one person who stood up and fought back is ridiculous.
You made this comment a decade ago but It is not ridiculous to criticize someone trying to play hero to save the bank from losing some money and getting yourself and forcing someone else to get killed to “back you up”
Off duty cop hit 4 out of 5 of his targets. The last two after he was already shot. The two hits on Utah were nicely centered. And his reload was going well under that intense pressure and after being hit.
@@flowrepins6663 nah. Utah made most of his hits but they were all to the chest and they were wearing body armor. Even the shot to the neck that took out Grommet was likely lucky.
Patrick Swayze was great in this film as was the rest of the cast. It had a great story to it that was well told. I have heard a lot of negative things about Mr. Swayze's acting but I really think that he nailed his role here and I think that he did his research and I think that he was totally convincing. May he rest in peace!
Stupid cop, he should have waited till all the bad guys got in the car, and called for back up after they left the bank. He endangered all this innocent people and I feel no sympathy for him.
Notice how nobody ever walks into the bank during a movie Bank Robbery scene. Same with "The Dark Knight" and "Heat" and many other heist movies. Its actually very un realistic.
I don't criticize his intentions, but I criticize his judgement. As a police officer, he should have been fully aware that not only did no one stand to lose anything (anybody who's taken high school economics knows about the FDIC), but also that fact about bank robberies you mentioned. Add to the face that he and the security guard were outnumbered by about 3 to 1 by men with vastly superior firepower, the only reason for him to do what he did was so he could be the hero, and it got him killed.
Another fine example of that classic invention: a hubcap on an elastic band that puts it back on the wheel when it comes off. In this case its the rear nearside one
@ncd7184: He was a fool who got himself and a minimum wage security guard wasted over insured money in a situation in which there was no immediate, life threatening danger to anyone in the bank. He should have taken the fight outside if he felt he had to act.
And I’m not just saying the GTA vibe because of the bank scene which I know was the basis for the bank robbery in GTA IV. I feel the characters could all be GTA related and used 🙂😎

Until his greed got the best of him by sending those guys to the vault,he wound up getting his brother killed then shot the cop.
Mr Carter....lol. isn't it amazing this guy recently hit 100. Imagine him watching this film thinking WTF.. that's me.
They should do a documentary or film about him called Last Man Standing he was in the Bruce Willis film as well the Last Boy Scout and he seemed to be in better mental state than poor Bruce as well and poor joe
Now that's a fucking MOVIE 😂
Movie came out over 3 decades ago. Bank security has changed since then. I don’t think anyone is stupid enough to rob a bank these days.
Damn, they need to make more movies where the bad guys win in these heists
Wasn't really a win here.
What win? Bodie got his brother killed by getting too greedy then shot and killed a cop himself sealing his own fate.
One of theeee best action movies ever 👌
What a effen great movie man Rest In Peace Patrick.
This movie holds up so well, fucking awesome scene. Kathryn Bigelow is one of the all time great directors
LOL when movie came out, we'd always joke when someone would get serious or upset about something, "I AM AN F B I Agent!" LOL
You made this comment a decade ago but It is not ridiculous to criticize someone trying to play hero to save the bank from losing some money and getting yourself and forcing someone else to get killed to “back you up”
@@RowingFrontal5yea even if the security guard joined him that's only two guns pointed at 5 robbers. No way to control the situation.
This reminds me of the gta 4 bank robbery of liberty city
Off duty cop was reckless.
the last ten seconds when the music kicks in and bodie gives that death stare, showing anger for once is so bad ass.
And it took a lot out of him
Off duty cop hit 4 out of 5 of his targets. The last two after he was already shot. The two hits on Utah were nicely centered. And his reload was going well under that intense pressure and after being hit.
If the guard was as good as him they would have made it.
@@flowrepins6663 nah. Utah made most of his hits but they were all to the chest and they were wearing body armor. Even the shot to the neck that took out Grommet was likely lucky.
I agree he did hit all his targets.
And the guard looked like he had a .380. Maybe even a .32. Unless his shots were head shots they wouldn’t do nearly the damage.
Great movie with a great message
Patrick Swayze was great in this film as was the rest of the cast. It had a great story to it that was well told. I have heard a lot of negative things about Mr. Swayze's acting but I really think that he nailed his role here and I think that he did his research and I think that he was totally convincing. May he rest in peace!
One of the things I like about "Point Break" is that it's the only movie where Keanu Reeves actually tries to act, instead of just saying his lines.
6:35 me too.
Stupid cop, he should have waited till all the bad guys got in the car, and called for back up after they left the bank. He endangered all this innocent people and I feel no sympathy for him.
“NOBODY FUCKIN MEWWWUUUVVV”
lol
Notice how nobody ever walks into the bank during a movie Bank Robbery scene.
Same with "The Dark Knight" and "Heat" and many other heist movies.
Its actually very un realistic.
The lady in the green sweater did and he threw her to thr ground
@@homelesshannah50 That's exactly what I said in my mind. The person who made this comment needs to respond to you.
Love Patrick Swayze, this will always be an amazing movie, loved it as a kid and I love it now.
This would be really funny if this was filmed recently and they had a Clinton and Obama mask.
..well maybe in the remake they might lol ..im still ticked they re made this.. some movies are not to be touched
H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton, W. Bush, and Obama probably
2:52 its funny how the mask makes a realistic reaction lol like damn bro chill
Best movie ever
He said the line! Keanu said the line!
5:12 Jimmy Carter is invincible!!
He's got the 'Presidential Empeachment Immunity' cheat on
Honestly, as a cop that guy should've known that pulling a stunt like that during a bank robbery would be a very bad idea.
Ah, no! The oldest member of Hanson died.😢
Lol 😆
Another fine example of that classic invention: a hubcap on an elastic band that puts it back on the wheel when it comes off. In this case its the rear nearside one
They never had a Gerald Ford mask as a spare? 😅
Utah would have been bumbling around #iykyk and flared up his knee
My uncle [RIP] AND I watched this from the rental store as a kid!- This fkn scene boi!
Never made this observation before but props to the off duty cop in this scene. He didn’t back down from the evil in front of him.
@ncd7184: He was a fool who got himself and a minimum wage security guard wasted over insured money in a situation in which there was no immediate, life threatening danger to anyone in the bank. He should have taken the fight outside if he felt he had to act.
Your bootlicking is pathetic
And then i went to get it all back.
Anybody else getting some GTA vibes from this? I feel this would’ve been a great GTA movie 😎
And I’m not just saying the GTA vibe because of the bank scene which I know was the basis for the bank robbery in GTA IV. I feel the characters could all be GTA related and used 🙂😎
more like payday no?
@@unhommequicourt could even be payday, that would be cool 😎
What happens to Swayze’s career after this film? He was one of the biggest actors on the planet 🤷🏽♂️
