Hands down the best video covering this out there. It's been a long time since I've wired contactors for forward/revers control. Perfectly explained.

Thank you for sharing such an informative and concise video. Wired up a forward/reverse contactor at college today for a three phase motor. Fortunate to have a tutor with a wealth of knowledge and patience who in a similar manner to yourself explained the concept expertly. Contactors and relays seem intimidating at first but once you gain an understanding of how the control circuitry works , then the ingenious simplicity reveals itself. Thanks again, look forward to viewing more quality videos from your channel.

probably the best explanation on contactors i ever came accross. this sort of practical demonstration really helps where students get rejected by companies due to lack of practical knowledge.

Great explanation of the reversing contactor. I'm updating an old vertical mill with a MacMotion CNC system and this video is most helpful in describing what I need to do to add a contactor from the old electrical panel to the new panel. Thanks. Mark Mox

You may want to consider doing a follow up video explaining how to use this type contactor with say 4 different controlling switches at different locations like would be used in an elevator with a safety stop switch. Thank you again.

  • @Ktulu789

Great video, and you even explained the last NO connector. I've just had a generator installed at work for power outages now by the summer and the installer used a couple of these to switch between the grid and the generator automatically. Besides he didn't use that fourth connector but installed an extra switch outside which I was wondering why he didn't use the fourth one?
Now I think I understood it, the fourth one is for lower voltages. The installer has to come in some weeks to finish some touches so I will know what voltage goes through the fifth extra switch.
I'm an IT admin, so my job is not directly related to electricity but I was reading a lot about the inner workings of some systems and how what one ordinarily thinks that is "just plug it in, and it works" is completely another matter behind the socket. Coupling armonics, inductance and a whole lot of things that complicate the matter quite much, not simply 200V 50Hz :D (Argentina).
Thank you very much for your explanation and video. You've got me subscribed!
