1. Break the Rules -- just don't get in the way of anybody else getting what they want 2. Train your mind -- nervous vs. excited 3. Be patient -- most things worth having are a journey 4. Take accountability -- you can take credit for wins, if you take accountability for losses 5. Outdo yourself -- strive to beat yourself every day, not your competitors around you. 6. Stack the Deck -- choose to be in an environment where you strengths align 7. Be the last to speak -- hold your opinions until everyone has spoken. 8. Be authentic -- your decisions and actions are symbols. like symbols attract 9. Find your passion -- what do you love, and how can you apply similar principles in your work 10. Start with WHY -- why ... how .... what (see: the Golden Circle)
Evan Carmichael Very awesome video!! I have to say this guy Simon is what I'd like to learn to be like. His message is what I want to spread about. I'm a human lover. I love all of Gods creatures and I love his energy. I have the same energy. I'm aooo glad to have discovered him and you. I love all ten rules. They all feed one another to make success. Thank you sir.
#7 really resonated with me: "be the last to speak" in a meeting. Furthermore don't agree or disagree, just ask more questions to really understand. Thanks Evan for putting this together!
@@Chris-tg3qy It works where there is an understanding that everyone will get to speak... if they want to. I'm part of an online community where, at the start of a discussion, they say, "Remember, if you are from a demographic whose voices are privileged, please wait while those whose voices are often silenced speak or ask their questions first." Being a CIS gendered, straight, white, middle-class male, you better believe I shut the hell up... but I have never once missed out on asking the question burning in me; I just have to wait for the moment. There's no competition for air time when everyone understands that there is no competition for air time. When you chair a meeting, start out with the ground rules. Work to make the silenced voices heard. Make sure everyone knows it's not a competition; you're all there for the same purpose. Maybe you start out the new year in that way. Maybe next year you give it a go... then let us know how it went. Were people more collaborative? Did people spend more time acknowledging one another's ideas? Did the ideas the women/poc spoke make it into the minutes under their own names, and not under the name of the next white male to speak? Speak last. Lead by your actions. See change happen before your eyes.
@@jasonstrong2016 that's a very selfish attitude guided by a taking mentality. You have the wrong mindset, man. Didn't you watch the video on why you need a WHY?
"Be the last to speak." I grew up in a family of 8 kids. We competed to be heard. It became a bad habit to interrupt people. When I learned to listen, I became better at every endeavor.
"be the last to speak" .I've always been an interruptor, trying not to because it's rude, but now I know that it actually hurts me, hurts my communications so I don't get essential information from others. Wow. Now I will not interrupt any more.
"Start with why" clearly speaks to me. Simon says, "People don't buy what you do, they buy why you do it." And why is always on the inside, but so many people take the position of a viewer of life, only to become followers, living life from an after the fact position. Simon is full of excellent rules, and this one rule shines brightest inside me. Thanks!

Great speech that last one about "Start with why". The Rule #9 is my favorite, we all have to find our reason to do what we do before start doing anything, i think that's the way we can prevent ourselves from feeling a void inside, and also prevent to let this void from growing

Hi Evan, big fan of Simon.10 rules of success-I'm with you nr.6 But with nr. 1 I will train my mind, be patient and get the bagel I want ,not the one I pick.
"Be the last to speak" Amazing advice. I laugh at organizations that call it a "strategic planning" session when really what they having is C-suite 'buy in' session
What a clear, strong, convincing and just all-around appealing presence Simon offers. He's likable, then intriguing, then galvanizing. He encourages me to focus more on my spiritual work---interacting deeply with people, writing and publishing more books and poetry. I've been an activist most of my adult life, and I see that I've let that flag. Thank you so much, Simon.
8th-10th rules are outstanding! I replay for many times. Say what you believe! Do what you believe! You will attract people who believe what you believe. Amazing! Thanks so much, Simon!
Here is my situation . I wasted 20 years doing my passion with music only to realise that i should have learnt the business side of it . From my experience fellows , this is what they don't talk about, always understand the business side of your passion and have passion for both the business and passion or else u go broke and passion will be meaningless so, business side of your passion and the "passion" go hand in hand but for some reason they just dont emphasise on the business side of passion... in my opinion.
ade doyin Hi Ade, you're so right, passion alone is never enough. That's part of the reason why I started making my own videos to help share lessons like the one you learned in making music 👌
Same here and I am Chef. When I started, I would do anything to be allowed to stay in the kitchen after my shift has finished an would work till my nose bled(literally) and all whilst having smile on my face. This attitude brought to me a load of experience and success but eventually people started using me which led to me being depressed for about 6 years and nearly becoming an alcoholic. I am making a comeback to being "myself" again but this time I am going to be much smarter about it and more "cold blooded" in decisions that I take how I "market" my skill.
I think he meant that passion will lead you to explore more about what you believe. It will drive you to understand everything about your career of choice. So imo it was included
I think what you said about alcohol was profound. "Kill Your Soul Indefinitely" I take it you had a personal struggle with alcohol maybe? I agree with what you said though. The be happy first is right because money will not make you happy. I've known wealthy people and they were not really happy with there lives.
Noticed this after I made my comment. I'll have to check it out later. It is nice you put something out that gets around the top 10 rules format to allow a little more value to be offered in another format.
Awesome sequence of Simon's snippets. He comes across as a really humble guy, but has great 'presence' of character and also delivers hugely helpful advice. Thanks for running the channel - genuinely appreciated.
I just discovered Simon Sinek and I think he's simply amazing. He speaks to us as what it means to be a human being, the fundamental us at our core. Go Simon!
I'm certain that all of my present vibrations and synchronicities are the result of my watching this video!!! I am really aware that my challenge lies within a habitual neural pathway of seeing what prevents me from a plethora of items. I have been taking more action presently and am struggling a bit with my temper of society and their recent display of greed during chaos. Yet, I feel more empowered and aware and can see it all as a whole. It is kind of refreshing to be here and I strive everyday to get the sense of why I am "REALLY" here! I have a book about INTUITION I believe will assist me. I am sooo grateful you did this video! I have to figure out how to help them other than them ignoring my posts for years in their behalf. I yearn to be sooooooooo effective. Your speech is delivered with such needed clarity and flows gently and literally refreshes the soul. I love the way your speech is so harmonious. We actually engage our deepest feelings! I love why you do it!!! Maybe I want to be the one doing what you do but am scared.
This is a wonderful compilation of his wisdom delivered directly to our inner being. So much learnings. The golden circle is my favourite. Ask WHY NOT HOW OR WHAT.
Thank you once again Evan! Having just found out that my single word is 'Why', it came as a bit of a surprise to me but apparently not to those who know me. To listen to Simon is pretty eerie, he is saying similar things to those that I'd talk about amongst friends. You were right. Depending on the situation I tend towards 'be the last to speak' as I like to understand what is driving people, but I also feel that 'be authentic' is a big deal for me. Which is why I tend to dig my heels in when people try to force their viewpoint on me.
Thank you for sharing these awesome insights! I’m sure it was difficult to find only 10 lessons from Simon, as he’s such a fantastic thought leader and avatar of our time!
I love the transformation of nervous to excited! I really believe we can train ourselves to feel the same sensation, and to transform it to something positive.
Dr Ben Lynch I love that too. However, I feel his 10th rule, “Why” encapsulates authenticity. Being yourself by believing in your “Why” is being “Authentic!” Everything else falls into place!
#9. Find your passion; I have found my passion #5. Outdo Yourself; I will find new ways to destroy the old me. I like the way you talk Simon :) keep it up
My personal favourite is the golden circle. I believe in synchronicity, i am currently working on myself, unpacking and resolving past trauma/issues etc. I am 56 years old. Simon Sinek was the person for my current stage. I am grateful to the universe for Simon. Bless him with everything good.
Thank you so much for the wonderful video! I am extremely grateful that the TH-cam algorithm gifted me with this. Before I watched this, I have just began making a great change in my life. I have just began creating a new place for myself in this world, where my dreams rain down from my head in the clouds and become reality. And Mr. Sineks wonderful speech made me realize and remember that I'm not doing it for money. I'm doing it because I want to see people smile, I want to see happiness and see the day where people live their entire lives, not as Les Brown says, "A man dies at 21 and wanders dead until he's buried at 65". I want to inspire people, and I'm going to start working every day on inspiring and helping people through my own work. Thank you so much for this!
"Leading with heart and soul happens in the Limbic system, that part of the brain that controls decision making, not language...." and " We need to know "why" we do what we do...How can we get anyone to respond to you, vote for you, etc.. or be loyal and be part of what you do...." rough translation. Thank you for putting this together...I have now listened to it 5 times and finding it a resource as I navigate current territories new to me in the work I am engaged in. Best
Thanks for the video Evan, this one is a sure favourite :) Been watching him for the last 2 weeks. His talks are phenomenal! He communicates a message of authenticity in a very simple and most importantly modern way. He's now my go to guy when trying to get friends into watching these kind of talks :) p.s if you like him, you'll like Seth Godin, he speaks a lot about being yourself and finding your audience :)
Glad to know you are learning from him Chris-Anthony. :) Thanks for sharing your thoughts and for watching. If you not able to watch yet, we also profiled Seth Godin: th-cam.com/video/Qd25z-gTeRE/w-d-xo.html Much love. #BTA320 Shine
I really like this video and the most say that inspired me was “ Be where you are ingrained into a society, ...the one that your believe in...” Thank you so much 💙
I ran across this video today and I have watched it 3x in a row. I have literally replayed it each time it went off. Never heard of this speaker but I have found my favorite now. I can resonate so much with the bagel situation because I’m the one who sees the line. I’m also the person who moves from job to job chasing more money instead of finding the career that I actually enjoy going to. Thank you for this video. I’m sure I’ll watch this a lot more times.
Absolutely love this the only competition is yourself. Listen to how your body is feeling and tune in. Your energy shows up where and when you are supposed to be. Always do what you love and love what you do it is priceless.
Mate, thanks for putting these top 10 together. As a recommendation, you could put tags in your description to the minutes in the video in which each idea starts. E.g 41:12 - extra
"Outdo yourself". I was always too busy looking at what other people are doing and trying to do better. I need to focus on myself and do better than what I did before. That one resonated with me the most.
what a content ...preceless...i can say now " i beleive in what u believe in evan...u r great...such video should be shown in classrooms ..rather than mugging up books theory in country like india...amazing stretergies and real life thinking .....i truly beleive this knowledge will really benefit me than mugging up those books content
wow, u r a amazing person simon, u deserve to live one of the best lives this planet has to offer ;P u r a amazing man and r helping the world so much!
Not because we have to.......But because we want to. And I want to become a Fitness Instructor and personal Trainer. I lost that dream and I just got my edge back. Because I have a dream of how I want to live my life and help people better themselves. Because I love to train at the gym for sports Soccer And Boxing.
Thank you so much for posting this Mr. Carmichael! You are the best, keep it up, everyone believes in you, you can never go wrong, you will continue, life will continue giving you what you deserve, you will always open minds, and show everyone more than what they are used to!!!!! Yeahhhhhhhh
Sorry to hear that, Isabel! When I introduced him to my mom, she wrote back, "I wish you could find someone like Simon Sinek :) He sounds very smart, wise and kind." I hadn't even told her I had a crush on him! She left off the other adjective that he's cute, too. The world needs more people like this.
Yes yes I think so, but I'm sure if she watched him talk, she'd see that he's so sweet in reality. Too bad I'm in my early 20's and he's 20 years older than me :(
Thanks for sharing that Isabel. :) Yes...funny how people see things differently but I agree, maybe your mom would think otherwise when she heard him talk. #BTA390 Shine
Thank you for this Evan and team #10 really stuck out to me..it's something that I already knew but hearing him explain with detail and examples really put things in a different perspective for me 💛
Thank you, great tips to keep me going strong. I just published my first book and it's been doing great, now I want to keep writing and make authorship my full time pursuit. Keep up the great work, best, BB
Congratulations on the success of your first book, BB! Your determination and enthusiasm are truly inspiring, and I have no doubt that your passion for writing will lead you to even greater achievements in the future. 💛 #Believe - Feb (from Evan's team)
Thank you Evan. You are literally heaven on Earth by just taking the time to create these fundamentally life changing and awesome videos. THANK YOU. Simon is pretty awesome and everything he said is great. What resonated with me most is the art of a good leader. How Nelson described his father's tribal meetings were in a circle AND that he was the last to speak. Pretty powerful and tremendously helpful and simple although not easy to everyone. Hopefully, I will become better than I was yesterday each day starting this very moment as creating wonderful relationships with others is vital to me. So thank you again Evan for your support in enabling others to be their best everyday AND hopefully, you can share a motivational mix on Rhianna. Keep being you!!!! You are simply AWESOME. MWAH
Stacking the deck is a fallacy in which any evidence that supports an opposing argument is simply rejected, omitted, or ignored....that can be a blind move which may cost you in long term plan!
I disagree. For instance on the other hand, surround yourself with people who never agree with your way of thinking and you may believe you are alone and hold none of the same ideas that others do. He said he goes where he is wanted, which I take to mean where people are willing to listen, not necessarily agree. I think being human means we need some degree of acceptance and appreciation, otherwise we lose all enthusiasm and motivation. Crucially what I don't believe he means is carry and echo chamber around you at all times and never leave it.
I don't think that rule means that, one thing is "do not want to be with people who think diferent than you" and other is "do not want to be with people who don't want you there"
I agree, however, I think the way to re-frame is: "to be around people that support and believe in you, not those who object (consciously or unconsciously) or are indifferent to what you're trying to accomplish."

Hi Evan, big fan of Simon.10 rules of success-I'm with you nr.6
But with nr. 1 I will train my mind, be patient and get the bagel I want ,not the one I pick.
Prestige Clips Why are you here?? Never thought I'd see this omg 😂
Prestige clips, wow how crazy I see you up here.!?!?!?!?
So great! I was wondering if anyone else heard that! My eyes got really big when I heard the plane! Good ears hahaha
"Be the last to speak" Amazing advice. I laugh at organizations that call it a "strategic planning" session when really what they having is C-suite 'buy in' session
Thank for sharing your thoughts and for watching CHS. :) #BelieveNation #BTA352 Shine
"People don't buy WHAT you do, they buy WHY you do it".
Thanks for watching and for posting the quote Snafu2346. :) #BelieveNation #BTA652 Shine
My favorite quote of his!
The tenth rule resonates with me. Simon is brilliant.
Why you have to buy everything?
Sit and listen and be the last to speak resonateswith me.
Great to know it resonated with you Darlene. :) #BelieveNation #BTA390 Shine
that is the main thing that inspired me too
Applying "People don't buy what you do, they buy WHY you do it" to all my work. So powerful!
Glad you're feeling it :) #BTA862 Luka
It is my favorite quote!
😊
8th-10th rules are outstanding! I replay for many times. Say what you believe! Do what you believe! You will attract people who believe what you believe. Amazing! Thanks so much, Simon!
Always #Believe :) #BTA1205 Luka
I've known wealthy people and they were not really happy with there lives.
sometimes you're the problem.

It's on my watch next! THANK YOU!!!
Noticed this after I made my comment. I'll have to check it out later. It is nice you put something out that gets around the top 10 rules format to allow a little more value to be offered in another format.
7 is my favorite... "be the last to speak."
Thanks for the comment and for watching guenda. :) #BelieveNation #BTA390 Shine
Awesome sequence of Simon's snippets. He comes across as a really humble guy, but has great 'presence' of character and also delivers hugely helpful advice. Thanks for running the channel - genuinely appreciated.

Hello 👋 Shane
Thanks for sharing your thoughts #Believe :) #BTA1591 Veljko

Simon Sinek- This man is genius. His perception to see the things is so different. So positive and encouraging.
Thanks a ton Simon.

i like this.... he is the only one that when he opens his mouth, i open my ears

True. His speak is "easy^listening" for my Adhd*brain..meaning: I get it.
This is a wonderful compilation of his wisdom delivered directly to our inner being. So much learnings. The golden circle is my favourite. Ask WHY NOT HOW OR WHAT.
These videos are amazing. Not just Simon Sinek's, but many others as well. Thanks @evan.
Thanks for the love :) #BTA919 Luka
Thank you once again Evan! Having just found out that my single word is 'Why', it came as a bit of a surprise to me but apparently not to those who know me. To listen to Simon is pretty eerie, he is saying similar things to those that I'd talk about amongst friends. You were right. Depending on the situation I tend towards 'be the last to speak' as I like to understand what is driving people, but I also feel that 'be authentic' is a big deal for me. Which is why I tend to dig my heels in when people try to force their viewpoint on me.
Thank you for sharing with us and thanks for watching! Keep it going :) #Believe #BTA978 Luka
Thank you for sharing these awesome insights! I’m sure it was difficult to find only 10 lessons from Simon, as he’s such a fantastic thought leader and avatar of our time!

“It wasn’t I have a plan speech, it was I have a dream speech”!! Fant-freakin-tastic!!
Glad you liked it #Believe :) #BTA1641 Veljko
My favorite: Be Authentic. Without that - none of his other rules work.
Dr Ben Lynch I love that too. However, I feel his 10th rule, “Why” encapsulates authenticity. Being yourself by believing in your “Why” is being “Authentic!” Everything else falls into place!
i agree. 8 & 10 go hand in hand while 3 helps amplify and preserves all the rules
Great to see you here Dr Ben and thanks for the mthfr advice!
It's the rule that inspires YOU, it's different than saying that the other rules are not right.
#9. Find your passion; I have found my passion
#5. Outdo Yourself; I will find new ways to destroy the old me.
I like the way you talk Simon :) keep it up
Great to know you already found your passion and you are focused on being the best version of yourself Charlie. All the best! :) #BTA453 Shine
Evan Carmichael Thank you.
My personal favourite is the golden circle. I believe in synchronicity, i am currently working on myself, unpacking and resolving past trauma/issues etc. I am 56 years old. Simon Sinek was the person for my current stage. I am grateful to the universe for Simon. Bless him with everything good.
Thanks for watching #Believe :) #BTA1638 Veljko

You're welcome, much love. 😊💛 #Believe - Feb

Hello 👋 Andréa
"Leading with heart and soul happens in the Limbic system, that part of the brain that controls decision making, not language...." and " We need to know "why" we do what we do...How can we get anyone to respond to you, vote for you, etc.. or be loyal and be part of what you do...." rough translation. Thank you for putting this together...I have now listened to it 5 times and finding it a resource as I navigate current territories new to me in the work I am engaged in. Best

Thanks for the video Evan, this one is a sure favourite :)
Been watching him for the last 2 weeks. His talks are phenomenal! He communicates a message of authenticity in a very simple and most importantly modern way. He's now my go to guy when trying to get friends into watching these kind of talks :)
p.s if you like him, you'll like Seth Godin, he speaks a lot about being yourself and finding your audience :)
Chris-Anthony Pinnock yes he def is inspiring , in this life is a blessing !😉
Glad to know you are learning from him Chris-Anthony. :) Thanks for sharing your thoughts and for watching. If you not able to watch yet, we also profiled Seth Godin: th-cam.com/video/Qd25z-gTeRE/w-d-xo.html Much love. #BTA320 Shine

Thank you Candice. Glad you enjoyed it. 😊 #Believe - Feb

I told my mom this is my type of man.
She said "uhhh, looks like a villain ".
haha, funny how people see things differently
Sorry to hear that, Isabel! When I introduced him to my mom, she wrote back, "I wish you could find someone like Simon Sinek :) He sounds very smart, wise and kind." I hadn't even told her I had a crush on him! She left off the other adjective that he's cute, too. The world needs more people like this.
your mom's opinion probably subconscious based on cartoons and movies where for some reason villains traditionally portrayed with prominent noses :)

33:35 "The Wright Brothers took Flight" - listen in the background... a Plane flew over. Awesome!

Hello 👋
Stacking the deck is a fallacy in which any evidence that supports an opposing argument is simply rejected, omitted, or ignored....that can be a blind move which may cost you in long term plan!
An echo chamber.
Such a quality act. Simon Sinek rocks! So much respect for the way he speaks.
Thank you for sharing Cleone :) #BTA821 Luka
