- In this video I show you how to install a radio in a 2008 Honda CR-V. This should work in all 2007 to 2011 Honda CR-Vs. We cover removing the old radio, wiring up the new radio, fishing wire to the radio for the back-up camera, and installation of the new radio and the trim kit. We go over unboxing the new BV755BLC radio and the features of the radio.

first off you're an amazing dad, I installed a wireless rear camera and this looks 100 times more complicated, I hope your daughter appreciated the work you did
Wish I had a dad that cool. 💯 I have the same radio with backup camera. They charge around 400 just for that instillation job he did.
Wow! Thanks!
Thank you for taking the time to post this video. Much appreciated!!
"Your Only Fans account." 😂 Great video, thinking about picking up one of these stereos.
Great vid keep up the work👍
Appreciate it.
Good job Dad...Good job. I am going to be doing the same to my sisters Kia Soul. Wish me luck.
How did that go for you?
What we do for our girls will rarely, if ever, be compensated for. They just expect to buy things and for it to work because some website says so or some boyfriend says so.. They don't appreciate the blood/sweat/tears that we go through to actually make it work. It's part of being a dad. We sleep better knowing we've done the right thing. They are oblivious. Yet we still love them to death.
Much Kudos to you! You kicked ass!
Thanks for the comment.
Hello! Your video is super helpful and answered many of my questions. I bought the exact radio with the backup camera. I see that you only connected the red wires to the reverse light, but I know it's mentioned that it needs to be connected to the reverse light and parking brake. Do you remember seeing this? The installation instructions are very vague. I'm not sure if the parking brake connection is for the radio itself or the backup camera.
Excellent work daddy,.
Thank you!
If u do see this which I doubt it but does the steering wheel controls work
Good job dad!
Thanks!
hello when you you connect the red wire to purple wire up front you then connected red wire to what? 20:50
What did you do with the small red wires on each end of the long backup cam cord? Also did you have any wires you didn't use?
The wires on the backup cam cord... one end splices to the reverse light and the other splices to the backup input on the radio. And yes, there were a few wires that didn't get used. Typically the amp, power antenna, etc don't get used.
Thanks for the video. I noticed that my rear-view camera worked only when I'm on Camera mode but not from any other mode. e.g. while on radio station, if I go reverse, the camera is not triggered. Was that your experience also? (I did notice that I didn't do anything with the red cable by the yellow video cable from the stereo, although I connected the red/black wires from the camera properly. Maybe I do need to connect the other red wire, too, to make it work correctly?)
I'm having the same issue. How did you fix yours?
Sorry, I don't remember how that was installed.
did you ever figure it out?
Good morning, great video, did you connect the three wires “parking-reverse & rear camera with the power all together?
I honestly don't remember. I believe the parking wire gets grounded. Reverse is to the backup light, and the rear camera to the same backup light wire.
@@LordGreybeardsChannelofWisdom thank you 🙏
Ordered this for my 2004 4runner, I hope it goes well 🥲
You're awesome
Thanks!
Nice!
Thanks.
Darn your daughter spent a load on you one of the best touch screen systems in the market. I was just looking for a cheapie $60 one from china for the 07 CRV.
Those China head units are absolute garbage. I bought one for $70 from Amazon. It was trash. Trash. Trash. It didn't keep present settings when you power it off. The stock head unit had more oomph. The China unit was distorting at barely 30% volume. I get that these units are 5 times the price, but they are so worth it. Heck I lost more than $70 worth of my time installing the China crap. I returned it and put the stock unit back.
@@Mr-Clark and just where do you think the majority of heads are from? LOL Just because there is some big name brand on the unit they still come from China and all the internal parts come from China. I was in the business for 30 years. I know where they come from.
@@camarogs1 Wow you must be the first one invited for parties.
Nice
Thank you one more time!
What did you hook up the e brake wire to I've got the boss 755B stereo and the back up camera don't just turn on in reverse I Have to push the camera button to make it work and I dont know how to make the DVD player work
Sorry, I cannot recall. I believe the ebrake wire just gets grounded. (Same wire as the negative.)
Do I need to disconnect the battery for a safe installation or is it enough not inserting the key?
I did it without disconnecting, but yeah, it would be safer to disconnect the battery.
Is the micro sd function any good? Does it let you put stuff in folders or just randomly play music?
I personally don't know. Maybe someone else can comment on this.
@@LordGreybeardsChannelofWisdom 👍 thanks
Do you have to have your phone connected continuously for Apple car play to work?
I honestly don't know how the Apple car play works, sorry.
I did everything and display turns on when ignition is on but display goes blank when i start up car any idea what i might be doing wrong ?
Not really. Did you figure this out?
does it come with a camera? or did you already have a camera installed?
It came with the camera. It was not already installed. The 2nd half of the video pretty much details the camera install. Thanks for watching!
also be arefull my start to cut out sound wise after almost a year of use..... amp cuts out... mine is installed in a 2000 Honda Civic
My daughter sold her car a few months ago. It seemed to be working good for her until the day she sold it.
Hello I really loved your video it was really detailed. I have a Honda CR-V 2008 I see that the location where you filmed the video is not really far from me knowing that I live in Clearwater. Would you be able to help me install mine if I wanted to place it on my car. I will pay for it an everything. If not I understand. thank you.
Sorry, I have so many projects going on right now. Let me know how that install went for you.
Nice video. Note to self, never try installing a backup camera lol
It's easier if it gets wired under the vehicle. With the liftgate, I didn't have a better choice.
I tried following these instructions but for my toyota but I must have done something wrong because it created sparks somehow.
Oooo.... No bueno! Sounds like a positive wire went where a negative should have went.
@@LordGreybeardsChannelofWisdom I blew a minor fuse but shes all good now!
Mine doesn’t seem to shut off , what’s connected to the red wire ?
If it doesn't shut down it sounds like the ACC wire is connected directly to the battery or constant 12 volts. You'll need to find the wire that powers up when the key turns on. If you can't find it, you might be able to splice into the cigarette lighter wire if that turns off when you turn off the key.
You can do all the connections outside your car. Then just plug in.
Please explain.
@@LordGreybeardsChannelofWisdom it looks like you got your gear from www.crutchfield.com that is where I get my stuff. What i do, is soldering all connections on my work table and then plug in to the factory wiring harness.. I don’t like butt-connections. Before I do final install I run all diagnostic.
@@zualfredo that is literally exactly what i did helping my friend install a new radio- best way in my opinion. took wiring harness to radio and wiring harness for car and soldered and shrinkwrapped all wires, checking that everything i was connecting was working intermittently.
Was that a factory radio to start with?
I hope you made the boyfriend help! Oh yeah dude, easy to order stuff... now let’s go install it
Yes, that was a factory radio. To be honest, I would end up more confused about the process if somebody else was "helping".
Great video and a S U P E R Dad !!!👍✅
Thank you 👍
2:42 WTF? LOL! I would have used a plastic putty knife or something instead of a giant metal screw driver. LOLOLOL!!
It's all I had.
why isn't the bf putting the radio in
I don't know. He did install the dash cam in the next car though, I am impressed.
Lost ya when you said micu wire
I don't really know what that is either.
What a cowboy did everything wrong lol
Really? It worked, I had one of you so-called audio specialists destroy a $5000 amp in my car. You dime store car audio specialist are idiots.
This video was awful. Unstable, too zoomed in, and was like listening to someone with ADD explain something.
Nice!
Thank you.
