      They should allow video replay like in hockey or soccer to see if the ball was hit. Siegemund against Kostyuk: she hit the ball but it was out of play because it jumped off the back of the line

The first one she challenged as soon as she hit the shot, she didn’t wait to see the result of her shot unlike Wozniacki v Errani. I don’t see how an umpire can argue that a call affected a player making a half-volley in general, unless the line umpires called it before the ball bounced-there simply isn’t enough time between the bounce and the shot.
      If the call did come before the bounce, umpires should automatically replay the point and clarify it’s due to the noise from the line judge during play, regardless of the disputed line call. But I’ve never seen this happen, and I honestly don’t understand why.

    1:03 Siegmund is absolutely right here. The rule is basically "You can hit the 'offending/questionable' shot and then stop play provided you don't hit the next shot from the opponent.' The commentators point of 'it's certainly in there's no doubt about that' is not the point. My only question is: Does the umpire have the right to refuse to check a mark pointed out by a player as per the rules?

    4:35 You can play the ball and then challenge the mark

    • @Christiancsilva13
      @Christiancsilva13 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      My opinion: Players should have the right to play the ball and then look at the mark.
      1st: its the refs job to call the ball out, not the player to be divided between playing and calling out because he/she is supposed to challenge immediately.
      2nd: fundamentally, the first player who played the ball out should loose the point. So if the 2nd player takes her time to play the ball properly and then challenge, I still see it as fair

    A lot of deluded Coco fans in the comments. Siegemund was right on both calls. The first one she challenged as soon as she hit the shot, she didn’t wait to see the result of her shot unlike Wozniacki v Errani. Second one she didn’t need to get the ball back in play, the umpire worked under the assumption that it affected Siegemund’s return, so when in doubt you replay the point.

      She wasn’t right, the eventual difference about which she was talking about was 1-2 seconds, Iga had still a lot of time when she was serving, so what will it change, that maybe she had 8 not 10 seconds on the clock while serving, this is a sign o immaturity, she does drama quite frequently

      @@chihiro90 While trying to win a match by disqualifying your opponents is not the being the best sports, she was definitely not cheating there. She was right, the japanese trough the ball without care (she didn't even look) hitting a ball girl. The fact that the ball impacted with the strength of an anchove's burp doesn't change anything, since the rule doesn't say anything about minimum ball speed - remember when Djokovic fanboys were arguing about the line umpire "faking" pain after being hit (IN THE F**ING THROAT!!) by a much harder ball by Novak in the US Open?

      I think it is because tennis was supposed to be like the ladies and gentleman sport, with class and like respect way back when to now (I'm a tennis player). So it anything is like outside of the behavior like swearing or breaking/throwing a racket is considered bad for the sport haha than in other sports
