there was a "bad" call on the ladies episode that had a ball about 2 inches inside the line be called "out" but wow this one takes the cake. That lines person should be blacklisted from ever having anything to do with tennis ever again. All sports even. I can only assume they simply werent even looking in the direction of the court to miss that so badly
Remember China is a dictatorship. When you play in China, against Chinese player, Chinese line judge, and Chinese Umpire. There're No rules, anything could happen. That's Chinese tradition. They always do that.
"But others are sometimes late to other classes and their teachers don't tell them. One guy from Spain was late. Another, I don't remember who but he's a worse student than me... There was a guy in Cincinnati last year who was late..."
He's consistently an asshole, I'll give him that. When i first saw him play i liked his game, wanted to like him. The more i see of him the more he comes over as an entitled brat, and a narcissist who takes it out on everyone when things don;t go his way, even his family. Here, he's treating the umpire like an asshole tourist in a hotel treats the staff. Condescending patronising prick Mr Toilet Break. That's who he is in my mind now. What i don't understand is the umpires have a lot of latitude to punish time violations, but seemingly little when players go on mini-strikes - as seen here - refusing to play till they get the supervisor. Can't the umpire just refuse to engage in debate and go 'play is continuing, get ready to play' then warning, then point penalty etc? Because Tsitsipas basically gets his way. He's knackered, so he is wasting time between points. Clearly his opponent isn't as knackered or they're both going to be getting warnings.. He gets his time violation, and makes up for it by having a lengthy 10 minute debate while everyone umpire & supervisor pussyfoots around his tantrum he gets a nice rest and a chance to calm down by venting? Sometimes, its true, there are situations where both players are by a kind of mutual consent taking time between points, esp if its hard conditions. Then, the ump needs to use his judgement, but here? No. Tsitsipas is being an asshole. Again.
First time I watched this I saw nothing wrong with it because I thought they called the return out, and therefore Te won the point. Cannot believe how this ended...
Shame on Te for not conceding the point to Bertola, these are the rare moments when it is in the opponents hands to do the right thing and he decided to do nothing.
These calls are so outrageous! These refs are legit getting worse and worse every year. That call against Bertola is literally the worst call in tennis I’ve seen.
You know, I love watching these videos. Imagining how I would react and trying to decide who is right/wrong is really something I have grown to enjoy. Lately, with my own life and stress getting in the way, seeing players being hard done by by the umpire makes me so mad, and really raises my anxiety levels. I still love the videos
Tsitsipas genuinely sounds like he has some kind of mental breakdown here, his sentence structure and line of thought is so detached from the reality of the game he's playing.
I can say in the heat of a rally I can get you don’t feel the net, and to be fair it barely looked like it moved at all so I get he was frustrated. Still shouldn’t have thrown the racquet though. Honestly felt the drama was better except for severe hand tsitsipas
It's amazing how players will do something so obviously against the rules, do it in a way that's very hard to argue against, and still argue against it. I'll never get over the clip of Djokovic's invasion when they played it slow mo and even freeze framed it for him on the big screen. Literally on the frame of him going over the net and he still argued it wasn't an invasion. Nuts.
It’s wild to default the doubles in challenger level tour for that call. The whole tournament’s prize pot was $82,000 I can’t imagine the doubles prize being more than $8,000. Literally these players are eating instant noddles and barely surviving but the umpire can just wipe the points and the small earning based on nothing.
I initially agreed but once I looked at the clip it was absolutely the right call. Svrcina pretty clearly said 'bitch' and he was looking at her. You shouldn't get away with derogatory shit like that.
I don't know if it's nothing but I think it's strange to default the player for use of the word "bitch". Obviously, very disrespectful and he deserved a forfeit of some kind but it was described by the umpire as an "audible obscenity" - it's not even a swear word!
i missed it at first but i turned up the volume and played it back a couple of times. Its true, and you can even see his whole head gesture towards her as he says it. I first thought maybe he said it but was more exclaiming to himself and she mistook it, but its pretty clear on repeat. If anything repeat makes it worse and you pick up more and more
i wasnt sure also but i googled and found out that "„Bič na někoho“ " is an obscenity which he could have said, because i heard bitch also but there could have been remaining wordsa bit quiter, but the obscenity i found in czech means to whip someone, so either way its a default

Complaining to the umpires about the rules is like complaining to the waiter the food is bad. They don’t set the rules, they just make sure players follow them. With that being said, the automatic clock rule is ridiculous and inhumane.
Tsitsipas is the most obnoxious player on the entire tour. If he didnt have a brother, I'd say he is the typical GenZ only child who has been told since childhood that he is the greatest human being that has ever set a foot on this planet.
Kinda crazy that the supervisor kept asking that umpire if he called her a b****. Like he didn't seem to believe her...I believe her. Why did he keep asking her if that's what he said....?
Because the sanction is too severe, so he had to be 1000% sure about it. You have the players claiming they didnt say it, and the umpire saying they did... In a "he said, she said" aegument ve has to be sure of what borh sides are claiming to have said.
I remember the Dimitrov/Hurkacz match, and it looked like Hubert did indeed touch the net. However, I think it should 100% be the right of players to see slow-motion replays of absolutely every possible call an umpire can make. We know that we cannot trust umpires, and it’s not their careers on the line, it’s those of the athletes, so it’s only fair in my opinion that they have those replays as a part of what they can do to challenge calls. Edit: As for the Bertola call, I really don’t know what to think. I think someone was getting paid underneath the surface.
I think Novak is the GOAT and I respect him a lot, though I don’t like him very much. How does he not know about this role change if it came after Roland Garros? And he’s trying to rush the ball kids. Go grab your own towel or pay attention to the rules instead of trying to start a whole new player association of your own. Or at least keep up with the one that’s running the game right now.
Idk if you put challenger stuff on here, but I was a ball boy during the craziest drama at the chicago challenger. It was Terrence Atmane Vs Jacob Fearnley Semi-Final. You've got to add it to the channel, it was nuts. It was towards the end of the match

Worse than the Khachanov call that the umpire called out despite being a foot in
The Bertola call is hilarious
It's incredible

Absolutely bizarre
That is quite possibly the ball that is furthest out that I have ever seen called in lmao
it's touch the white line! I was here on the net
I was so scared this channel was dead. Thanks for the upload.

Absolute disgrace by Te in the Bertola match. I get this is for money but that is zero integrity on his part. What a scumbag for not conceding that
That call against Bertola was the worst call I’ve ever seen. Someone that’s never played or even seen tennis could easily tell it was way out
yeah it was in China and Rigele Te is Chinese as are the line umpires, so maybe they were biased.

Bertola handled that situation way better than I would've
thats because he was serving for the match lol, isnt it obvious? in any other point of the match he would be fuming
Quote of the year, by G. Allensworth: "We don't wait for the wind."
Tsitsipas is exactly like some of my students. They simple wont listen! "How come i got a notice for being late?!?!?!", "You were late...."
"But others are sometimes late to other classes and their teachers don't tell them. One guy from Spain was late. Another, I don't remember who but he's a worse student than me... There was a guy in Cincinnati last year who was late..."
He's such a retard it's not even funny, keeps getting more & more dislikeable as time goes by
"Yesterday my opponent took a medical time out. I did not complain. So now I need the supervisor." 😂
Tsitsipas: "Im the most consistent player on the tour!!" 😆
Little spoiled brat in classroom trying to justify his behaviour in third grade.

Hurkacz touched the net - as the ump said, 100% no doubt. You can see the net move & deform a bit.

Why do players always want to call the supervisor? It neves makes a difference.
They are frustrated in the moment and need an excuse
Time wasting.
It's like calling a medical time out.
They need to break the opponent's momentum.
That’s the thing tho, it should. And it has in the past, sometimes. But there should be people out there who can hold bad umpires accountable.
