- I found it! The HIDDEN GEM of Switzerland: It is in the Berner Oberland, in the Simmental! This valley won't seize in amazing you: Stunning waterfalls, green hills, master pieces of traditional houses, good food and spectacular mountains! This is what is going to await you if you plan your next trip here!
Here you can enjoy true natural beauty and serenity together. Whether you hike up to the Siebenbrunnen along the Simmenfalls (Simmenfälle) trail or around the Iffigfalls (Iffigfälle), you will definitely have a great time up there and feel the raw Switzerland. Both places are ideal to combine as they are both located in Lenk. Very much worth to visit are the Simmental homes, of which you can get to find many around Oberwil and Erlenbach. These houses have beautifully decorated fassades, which can only been found in the Simmental!

Well...The waterfalls are powerful and breathtaking. I knew about the Simmental cow breed before I learned they are from Switzerland.
Hey guys a Party of my family is the family who Operateur the restaurant siebenbrunnen. Its 5 minutes away from the siebenfällen. There where he eat the nice food. I live there for a week and with the locals they show you so much beautiful location. And they sell cheese and yogurt in the valley in Lenk.

Djemo, we love this video too. One thing that helps us greatly is when you put together a day for us. Like you tell us to arrive by 10 AM to get to the hike alone, and where to have lunch, and how to get up to the hike. All that is immensely valuable. It is much better than a travel guide, because we see it on video with you. And you have a very unique market position compared to Rick Steves, because you are going in depth on the smaller towns. This could be something very viable for you, Djemo. You might also suggest, is Rick Steves does that when people make reservations at the places you recommend they say that they came via your recommendation. With aloha, your new fan, Anne

Hi Suran. Thanks for your nice comment. The waterfalls could freeze if its sufficiently cold. But probably only if it is below -10 or - 20°C for a couple of days at least. With the large masses of the Iffigfall and Siebenbrunnen, I though think its rather unlikely that either of the waterfall may freeze.

Und wenn man dazu noch die Herkunftsregion als Video sieht...
Hatte ich auch schon beim Gruyere so gemacht.
Ist immer was spezielles, wenn man solchen Käse hat.
(Hier gibt es: Emmentaler, Gruyere, Appenzeller, Tête de Moine und neu Simmentaler)
Klar gibt es hier auch hervorragenden kanarischen Käse (Ziege, Schaf, Kuh und gemischt), aber man merkt/schmeckt deutlich den Unterschied in der Ernährung der Tiere.
Das zweite Video kann ich erst ansehen, wenn ich wieder nen Käse habe. Dann aber mit Rivella, das gibt es im holländischen Supermarkt 😎

Das hast Du sehr gut gemacht! Das Simmental ist das grünste Tal in Europa und das längste Alpweidetal der Schweiz. Die schönsten Häuser stehen in Därstetten. Empfehlenswert ist der Simmentaler Hausweg. Danke dir für das Video, ich habe es genossen.

I like to think this is where my great-great-grandfather came from to Mexico back in the 1800s. Mom always described her grandfather as a tall,thin, blue eyed gentleman. Thus given me my maternal surname Simental. Then there's my heart Longing to go to Switzerland.. and nowhere else.🙌🏼🏞💙

Can it be done as a family frindly hike to at least 2 waterfalls? or is it too difficult to walk along with a 6 yr old boy? ( we are not professional trackkers and hence asking). The place looks amazing
Hi Shriram. I have seen many families with kids hiking up. As you could see the trail is a proper road that cars can even drive up. The hike is only at a few bits a bit steep, but all in all it's easy. With kids I assume it might take up to 20 minutes longer. However, you can do a few breaks at the spots where you can see some of the waterfalls that are along the hike. I have done more difficult hikes, when I was still a kid, so don't worry. Its VERY family friendly! I am sure you all will have a great time overthere.

You can see why the cows are so popular and strong. The very green Simmental is a perfect home for the cows. I always love being there, its so peaceful and originally Swiss🇨🇭❤️

Very beautiful region with amazing nature and very green landscape. As a big fan of waterfall, I am so happy to see stunning waterfalls in your video. Minute 3:55 is the TOP view of the Iffig waterfall. Only green and white, nature pur. May I go there? :)
The traditional houses are really unique. Yes, it's similar with Minangkabau houses. Only the form of the roof is different. In SumBar, many buffalos and in Simmental many cows;)
The ornament of the houses in Simmental looks like a story or history of something. Am I correct?

Hey. I have stayed in Boltigen. The hotel I present in the end of this video. It's called Hotel Simmental. It was very nice to stay there. You can also stay in Lenk, which is closer to the waterfalls.
My great-grandma grew up just near the Iffigfall... one of the most beautiful place I've ever been. ❤️

The Siebenbrunnen waterfall caught my attention! This waterfall is really amazing, from how it looks like, very wide. Is there any path to get closer to the waterfall?
It's an amazing waterfall. A true hidden gem :) Theres no official trail, you know mostly in Switzerland it's up to you to take the risk to get close. There are couple of ways that you can take.
