I’ve had mine from new and it still does everything I need, I’m even more than happy with the photos. Epic camera. If they added lut feature it would be amazing.
@@ab185 Maybe not enough for everyone but enough for me, the pics look amazing even with light cropping. I’m never going to print anything so 33MP/61MP is wasted on me. If it’s just for online stuff or Instagram 12MP is more than enough.
Did Tyler just made me love your channel EVEN more right now? Dude, yes! Been a fan of the channel for a while now and all the info was spot on; but Tyler made this video so lovable and LITERALLY user-friendly! Goes out to show that great videos aren’t made by spec sheets or latest gear, but by knowing the gear you have to the dot!
I still love my Sony 7Siii it is great in low light! I rather buy lenses and other gear instead of a new camera body, the best camera is the one you use and know
I remember filming a personal trainer in a dark gym with the autofocus set on wide, knowing it was reliable enough to always track his face as he was shadow boxing. Never failed me. I miss this camera!
I have my A7S3 since November 2020 and it's still my go to camera. I work around salt water all the time so weather sealing is a must ( I cannot have a fan where the water can come in), plus I shoot in direct sunlight all the time so the viewfinder is SOOOOOO useful. Plus, I have rig the Fx3 handle on top of it with the small rig adapter plate, it's works wonder and give me 24 bit audio with 3 input. I have took that camera in minus -40 filming ski film without a problem and shoot in 45 degrees in the middle of the Desert. This camera is a WORKHORSE. If I add to buy a new camera today I would still buy an A7S3.
I still use an A7S3 and it always work. I shouldn’t have updated to the 3.00v because after the update, the AF became slower but overall, its still a very capable camera. Better than most thats available in the market
I agree the autofocus is slower since the update, there is also a bug now that peaking is either always ON or always OFF, where as before it was only showing up when you were in manual focus mode.
zv-e1 is a lot more affordable, also lighter & smaller, if you were doing photography too then a7Siii would make a lot of sense (I use evf a lot for photos)
Coming from an a6500 here (yup still rocking that 'ancient' camera), looking to soon upgrade to a full-frame set-up. Contemplating between the a7siii and fx3. I do about 90% video work - mostly youtube videos, socials, and some client work. Though, i would like to think that as my years of filmmaking experience grows, i'll want to start filming bigger projects like documentaries, music videos, short films, etc. So i'm tempted to make the jump to the fx3 as future-proofing. Plus, if i'm anyway going to spend in the thousands, the fx3 seems like a better deal financially, cuz a7siii with accessories may just come up to around the same price? I've also briefly tried the zv-e1 recently (i understand it's essentially a "baby fx3") and loved it - especially the colours (noticed the difference immediately compared to my a6500). Though the lack of ports, SD slots and customisable buttons was unappealing. Would love some of your thoughts! :)
You want to talk about ancient, Im still using my a7Sii from 2016! Resell value of the a7sii is so low that its better to keep it than sell it. FX3 or FX30 are both the route to go for what you're wanting to do with your video camera. You will like the button layout, ergonomics, led lights and the fan a lot more. I do use my 2x a7iv as B-cams to my fx3 and i gotten two external fans for them to help keep them cool while recording speeches. You'll also be more happy with the fx3 over the a7siii. A7siii was great for its time but i would only recommend the camera if you can find one used for $2,500 usd or less. I dont even recommend a brand new one anymore, just get the fx3
A7SIII is still great but considering its a few years old now and operates on the old software the FX3 or FX30 are far better options if 4K 120 is a must for you. If not the A7CII is the best overall IMO. TBH they are all good and can't go wrong with any of the recent cameras, A7SIII, A7IV, ZV-E1, FX30, FX3 etc. Personally I use the A7CII for my daily driver and if I need a 4K 120 shot I use the Osmo Pocket 3 which has a built in gimbal
I have a Canon 5d mrk4 ... I want to switch for low light video and stills.... but I still don't know which to get A7iv , Fx3, Siii or Cii because I want to do both.... suggestions please
just got the a7siii used one, is an awsome camera, but the frimware 3.02 uhh, input mic and speakers are not working after the update; still using it but as a mute camera F,
No, not worth it. Anyone who haven't gotten an a7siii or plans to buy one, i say skip out on it. Spend the extra $500 usd and get the FX3 as its the better video camera. Only reason to get an a7siii today is because you found a used one for $2,500 usd or less. A7siii is like the last a7S model to be released as the FX3 is now Sony's main video camera.
yup. i know i would have gotten the fx3 had i known they were going to bring that out. but i know i have mastered understandingthis camera so i will wait for the fx3 ii so that i can get the original fx3 when the price drops.
@@number1chiefROKKA Fx3-ii may not come out for awhile though. FX3 is still a great camera, likely 2025 or 2026. And if FX3-ii comes with a Global Shutter sensor, the price on the FX3 will not drop and stay put at $3,800 usd because fx3-ii is going to be $4,500 usd or $5,000 usd camera. The a9-ii is a perfect example. A9-iii is already out and has a price tag of $6,000 usd. But the a9-ii is still price at $4,500 usd and haven't dropped at all. Even on holiday sales, a9-ii didnt get a discount.
That or if you like to use a viewfinder. They're nearly identical other than the different body design anyway. Personally I see it as a choice between EVF and a better button layout
@@number1chiefROKKA fx3-ii could be 2025 or 2026 before it comes out. FX3 is still a great video camera right now. And if the fx3-ii does come out, it will have a higher price tag likely hitting $4,500 usd. Just keep that in mind. And jsut be sure to sell your a7siii before it loses a lot of value.
@@videotuotannot2693 No point for an EVF anymore. Now that the creator's app allows us to remotely connect the fx3, a7iv, a1, a9iii, and a7rv to smartphones, an EVF is pointless. The best part about the creator's app is that you can control a lot of things on your smartphone like iso, touch tracking, aperture, shutter speed and so on. It's freaking amazing and help saves money on buying an external monitor. I do think Sony's future cameras are going to have faster cpu and more memory ram to connect flawlessly with smartphones now. Remote control your camera from your smartphone is a game changer for videographer. Just be sure to get a fast smartphone though.

Love mine for video, but 12MP is not enough for photography. Noticeable green tint that needs correcting, but not a big deal.

Yesss! Always invest in new lenses!
I sold it for FX3, the no luts is annoying & they refuse to add some basic stuff for it.

I have no idea what kind of magic the a7siii has but hands down some of the best colors for video.
Bring Tyler back for many more videos! What a legend

I wish they made a A7CSiii. This is more of a good camera for any photos. I had ZV-E1 briefly and pictures were sweet
I do public street interviews at Anime conventions and spring break, what camera would you recommend the A7siii or the SV-E1?
