    D Rose should be on that list too. His whole game changed from being a slasher to a long mid range shooter and shooting better from the 3 point line.

      The thing is that rose didn’t hv a choice due to his injuries, if he didn’t change, he wld hv been much less athletic n thus less effective at scoring the ball n wld be out the league pretty soon however this players changed their play style solely due to their choice n injuries nvr affected them to do so

      I don't mind Bigs shooting threes or Centers anyway, but I like to see them mix it up with the inside-outside game instead of falling in love with the jumper. Antoine Walker and Sheed did that years ago and I felt that they could've been even more efficient if that didn't happen.

    • @FreewayBrent
      @FreewayBrent 5 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      He's turned into a stretch-5 who can still block shots. 17 blocks so far in his 7 playoff games this post-season. He gave the Pistons fits with his 10 combined blocks in Games 3 and 4.

    Vince Carter was always a very good shooter with a career 37% from beyond the arc. He was hitting 40% from the 3-point line during his 2nd year in the league before it was even emphasized like today. I remember when people used to criticize Vince for "taking too many jump shots" lol.
    The idea on Prime Vince just being a showman who couldn't do anything than dunk is a myth.

    • @dariusgoatland10
      @dariusgoatland10 5 ปีที่แล้ว +38

      Let's say somebody as hyped as Zion - just because he's the next big thing in everyone's mind - has a 13 year long career averaging 10ppg, never reaching 15ppg in a season, on a mediocre efficiency. Would that not make him a bust considering all of the hype surrounding him?
      Not coming close to your projected potential makes you a bust. I agree, Marvin wasnt a complete bust & he has had a pretty solid career - even for a second overall pick who was supposed to be an unstoppable, elite scorer with the potential to spearhead a franchise. But to say "if you play for a decade, you're not a bust" is just absurd. If an undisputed number one overall pick who is supposed to make an immediate impact for a franchise(Wilt, Shaq, LeBron, Dwight) has a career like Marvin, then they're a bust.

    • @Juwellz18
      @Juwellz18 5 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      I'm Marvin Williams case, dude was hyped like crazy coming out of college. And rightfully so if you seen him play at UNC. Dude was supposed to be the next great wing player like a T-Mac.

      U gotta understand that you don't get better with age and health... he's been better this year shooting 3s n has never been a great defender... at best now, he's better off the bench and could score 20-25pts vs the backup players on any squad in the league. I wished my Clippers or even Lebron's Lakers would have got him... all he needs is a ring to solidify his place in basketball history... Anthony Davis will get his with a title... I'm hoping for Melo to get one as well.... Triple Crown

It depends on wether or not they are good at defending the positions they can defend and Chris Paul is elite at that. I don’t think Kay is an elite defender but he is a damn good one. More than above average for sure

    7:40 i don't agree, cuz Bucks are one of the top teams in 3PA. Everyone in the team except for Giannis is shooting 3s. That's a great gameplan, because when Giannis drives to the hoop, defenders double or even triple team him. So he can pass to the stretches (Mirotic & Lopez) or guards. So i would say Mike made them shoot more 3s, not more shots at the rim. And that's why they are so successful

    I think you should've added some variety to the list, most of the entrys were players who started shooting more threes. You could've talked about players like James Harden. It might seem like I'm joking here, but Harden has completely changed his defensive game and it's often overlooked. He went from being mocked for being the worst defensive player in the league to be the secon in steals, and being a key player in the rockets defending post

    Most drastic change? Definitely Lopez, very few (if any) arguments can be made against his selection as number 1.
    Most impressive? Blake, in my opinion. He definitely has my respect for his growth as a player and his growth as a teammate.

    Marc Gasol is a lot like Brook Lopez, while not really a full time stretch 5, his early years he was a guy who played around the rim, but later in his career he kept expanding his range.Same concept applies for another guy for Toronto, Serge Ibaka. Also, you talked about Gordon, but really, that could've also been Harden, who went through exact opposite change. He went from spot up shooter to ISO master.

    I mean Brook always had the tools to be a stretch big just like Marc gasol. It's just that the era they played in needed their 7 footers to have their backs to the basket. Brook like gasol always had a great mid range game and a mechanically sound jumpshot it just wasn't their go to weapon at the time. You could actually see the progression of his 3 point shot as he slowly took more mid range shots and got farther away from the basket. I think a more drastic change for me at least is d rose who basically overnight became a solid three point shooter and isn't much of a slasher compared to his younger days

    honorable mentions:
    Drose: went from an athletic freak who was unstoppable inside to a good midrange shooter and 3pt shooter mainly because of injuries
    Lebron: because of his age, since rejoining the cavs, he has become one of the most lethal shooters in the league, developed a really good midrange shot, and can shoot really deep threes, back then he used to be a paint guy who always relied on that and an alright midrange
    westbrook: just like drose, still athletic but hes trying to shoot alot beyond the paint and has became more of a pass first point guard instead of a ballhog

    This might sound a bit odd, but Dirk's game changed quite a bit over the years. All throughout he's been a great shooter, but the places he got his shots from were way different. Early on he was this super mobile 3/4 that could blow past any big on him. Like, there was a reason why KD's predraft comparison was Dirk. Then in his middle years he was probably the deadliest P&R screener in the league with Jason Terry, as well as isoing on the high post to just shoot over everyone. He took very few 3's in this phase. Finally it was in the last phase, probably since the 2007 loss to the Warriors, that he really developed the iconic post up and fadeaway game he's known for. His mobility was pretty much gone by this point, but he gained all the little tricks to get himself open anyways.
