Barrier Reef was an Australian import that aired on Saturday mornings in 1971. For more information on this and other Saturday morning shows, check out www.70slivekidvid.com
I have also been searching for the series for quite some time now. This series, with another called Primus started me off as a diver when i was a boy. Use to stay in on the school holidays to watch them both. I have been a diver for over thirty five years now thanks to these two little jems. Wish i could find the DVD's.
I loved this series and used to what it every Saturday - if only the episodes could be made available again. The theme tune is wonderful. Thanks for a fabulous blast from the past.
CBC Channel 9 in Windsor used to show this series at 1 in the morning on Wednesdays, It was pure hell trying to stay awake in class on Thursday, but man I never missed an episode.
FINALLY!! I've been wracking my brains for years trying to remember what this theme music was from. I knew it had a sailing ship and sunny waters and was from the early 70s but just couldn't recall the title. Having gone through every sea-related show I could think of I stumbled across it at last. Thanks for posting and putting me out of my torment! (Great theme too).
This takes me back, I loved this show. Why they don't release these on DVD I don't know. Not even sure if the channels or production companies would still have these episodes, though.
I suggest you contact you contact Umbrella Entertainment and ask them if they have any plans to release it. If anyone does put it out on DVD, it'll be them. I have uploaded 2 episodes on my TH-cam Page but they're not very good quality.
