It's easy to overlook the music of Barry Gray or take it for granted. But in fact it is the sound of his magnificent orchestral arrangements and melodies that created the epic vistas of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson's superb shows and transformed them in the mind's eye.
Lucky enough to be born in 1953 so was raised and saw all of Gerry Anderson's stuff from Twizzle, Torchy, FFF, Supercar, xl5, Stingray, TB, and all the rest
I’ve alway’s liked the Ufo 🛸 show,and the music….although,I knew not every did!Like my mom’s friend;Darrell Fee’s.He didn’t like;Masterpiece Theater,either!So,to each his own,I guess!But,Ufo had;’a special place in my heart’for me!❤❤❤❤I love this show!
You can never hear a Barry Gray tune and think immediately, "that's a Barry Gray tune." He covered all genres from classical to rock. One trick he did have, though, was to synchronise explosions with the music, becoming a part of it, as in Thunderbird 1's blast-off and the Interceptor missile firing in the UFO opening titles. Unlike Thunderbird 1, you can't hear the firing (it is space, after all), but the visuals are right on beat.
Snippet #3 was first used in a Thunderbirds episode as well... I think it was called something like "Man in a Suitcase", same as the song. The story involved a Bond-like spy needing assistance. Cheers from a Gerry Anderson/Barry Gray fan!
I do so love Barry Gray's music from U.F.O.!! Gary Bailey KingofDarkness I could listen to the title music until my ears fell down and off!!!Gary Bailey KingofDarkness 🪦🦇⚰️
If Barry Gray, Henry Mancini, and John Williams would've gotten together for a jam session and some composing, we would have some of the most awesome music ever created. If J.S. Bach would have joined in, it would be heavenly.
@@mikebracchi sorry it took so long to get back to you. SID informed me that thee UFOs were coming in at SOL decimal eight. Had to send out the Interceptors. My email is.. byrdland777@gmail.com BTW, we got 'em. No need to alert Skydiver 1. 😉👍🇬🇧
All the music in the video was used in one or more of the UFO episodes such as 'The Long Sleep' - 'Ordeal' - 'The Square Triangle' - 'Confetti Check A Ok' and 'The Pyschobombs' .... further, there is audio from the recording session for UFO's main theme, where you can hear Barry Gray talking plus alternate takes. The one used in the series was "take 4" .... and finally, there is a Japanese version of the theme music recorded especially for a CD release featuring UFO music from several other episodes, 'Identified' - 'Survival' and 'The Question of Priorities'

Barry Gray is right up there with John Williams for his music themes!!
Check out Alan Hawkshaw and Keith Mansfield on KPM records
He's very good, but he's no John Williams

Great music Ufo and Space1999 first season. I love too much this sci fi. Agnese from italy.
Some of my most favorite stuff. Barry was a big organ proponent and it shows in most of his works.
Wonderful memories so ahead of its time. Can't give enough positives. Music I will never ever tire of. Thanks for posting this.
yes i remember, if you get the dvds the commentary is funny
A truly innovative show with one of the best themes.
If you like this - try Blow Up Vol. 1 and 2 on youtube

Barry Gray composed music for thr movie Doppelganger but there is no soundtrack available. But most of that music was used for UFO.
Thanks for this! Right up my alley. Love stuff like this, andothers in that genre like Keith Mansfield and Alan Hawkshaw.
All the KPM massive !

Awesome, I love it - and also the Space 1999 sound track. UFO is currently being broadcasted on German television btw.
Es una obra maestra. Me encanta como lleva el tema y explota cada compás. Me hubiera gustado saber mas de este gran Artista.

Fantastic music! Am I right in thinking the organist was Harry Stoneham playing a Lowrey Heritage?

BELLISSIMO SI TORNA GIOVANI!
Great clips!
What's the second clip, please? Straight after the intro.
It's called THE SQUARE TRIANGLE, music heard on the car radio in a driving scene in an early episode of the series.
The tune starting at 1.56 was originally from Stingray
Some music from this video do not came from UFO series tv
All the music in the video was used in one or more of the UFO episodes such as 'The Long Sleep' - 'Ordeal' - 'The Square Triangle' - 'Confetti Check A Ok' and 'The Pyschobombs' .... further, there is audio from the recording session for UFO's main theme, where you can hear Barry Gray talking plus alternate takes.
