- Today we have a Megan Young Miss World 2013 Reaction to her Full performance. Megan Young was the first-ever candidate from The Philippines to win the Miss World Title in 2013. Up until this date, she remains also the only titleholder from The Philippines.

The reason why she's one of the most famous Ms World winner is that the organization was able to discover her importance. Not only she became a Ms World, she also became the FACE OF MISS WORLD for many years.

I have followed Megan's journey since she was just a contestant in a star search type reality TV show. She made it far, but didn't win, yet she remained my favorite alumna from that show. She was able to get into showbiz thanks to it, which she did for several years until she joined Miss World. But before that, I remember an episode of that show where she was interviewed by no other than Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez. Melanie noticed her height and proportions and basically told her she has the potential to become a beauty queen. Flash forward to today and Megan is the only Miss World winner to have co-hosted every edition of the pageant since the end of her reign, a very rare streak that sadly would likely be broken this year partly due to the pandemic and the troubles that MW is currently facing.
She promised to become the best Miss World ever. And she delivered! She’s been invited by the organization to host their show. I think Julia mentioned that if Philippines wants to win a miss world crown again, we should send another Megan Young.

Megan won 2013 and it was also the year when typhoon Yolanda hit the Philippines... I don't know if her message was because of her deep feelings for her kababayans suffering because of the typhoon but what she did during her reign proved that she truly cares for the Filipinos. I felt the emotion as well Luis ❤️

Megan's sincerity and elegance is what really stands out about her. It was actually Megan who set the bar for being a spokesperson/ambassador for beauty pageants which she did tremendously that Miss World had to keep extending her contract to fill the job. Miss World Megan was still very active and her presence was still going so strong 2014 & 2015. Miss Universe started to look for that kind next level spokesperson too which didn't take long when they found Pia in 2015 also from the Philippines.

The reason why Meagan is wearing an Indonesian designers gown because the host country by that time is Indonesia and on a particular Top Model segment which Meagan won, everyone wore Indonesian designer's gown.

The best Miss World, I think she's the only Miss World who got so many TV interviews in the media outlets in USA, like so many for real. It is because her advocacy was very relevant during her reign. It was by the time when the strongest and dangerous typhoon Hyan(Bagyong Yolanda) hits the Philippines and there were thousands of casualties. So she became a huge voice during her reign for the world to know to help the Filipinos who were affected by the typhoon. I think until now, she's the best Miss world and she even co-hosted the Miss World from 2016-2019, she's the only Miss World who did that. Just like what she promised.
For the record, hehe, I think Priyanka Chopra did great ❤️ She's the Miss World who made her country proud too. She did great✊
You know what Luis, 2013 is a year of honor, because Philippines won not just Miss World, but also Miss International and Supranational, 2013 is an emotional year for us Filipinos because that year as well when Super Typhoon Yolanda hit the Philippines and a lot of Filipino dies. The reason why they're wearing an Indonesian designed dresses is because the Venue is in Indonesie and Miss World Organization mandated the girls in the Top Model Challenge to wear the dresses made by the Indonesian Designers. Its like the Miss World's way of saying Thank you to Indonesia.

2. Injured herself while doing charity works in Africa.

FUN FACT: She tried to audition for Binibining Pilipinas (National Pageant for Miss Universe) but she was not accepted due to her past photo shoot on a magazine where she was semi-naked. Actually, the reason why Megan was showcasing an Indonesian couture dress in that particular segment of the competition is because this was held in Bali, Indonesia. It's not just Megan wearing one but rather all the women in this edition of Miss World for that particular segment, and has nothing to do with the local organization choosing non local designers to dress the candidate.

Hi Luis, the pageant was held in Bali, Indonesia. The top model part of the pageant is sponsored by designers from Indonesia so all of them wore clothes from Indonesia.
The Indonesian Designed dress was part of the TOP MODEL EVENT and all dresses that were worn on that event were all from Indonesian designers to showcase Indonesian designs which was the Host Country
Also, I could not recall that Filipina Queens past or present ever worn an Indonesian designed gown in International Beauty Competition
