These people's lack of knowledge is absurd! It isn't the way that chocolate is pronounced in Spanish that is similar to the way it is pronounced in English, but the other way around! Chocolate is a deviation from "Kakauatl", which was a mayan word for "food of the Gods".
Abacaxi it's an indigenous word for ananá/ananás/piña. In Portugal we diferenciate the "abacaxi" from the regular "ananás": we call "abacaxi" to the brazilian "ananás", that with the greater "crown" and sweeter and we call "ananás" to the other one (we have that kind of pineapple in Azores islands, "Açores" as it's spelt in Portuguese) with the shorter crown, shorter and wider, whereas the "abacaxi" is taller and thinner.
