I am your neighbour in tower 3. I suggest buying vegetarian street food and adding chicken breast and boiled eggs. No starvation here. I am enjoying your efforts and hope to see you at the gym or mall.
If you want to live in the Philippines or anywhere in the world comfortably, you must have enough money.. don’t believe what others say that living here is cheap. It just depends where you stay and if you are contented to eating only anything and live in a shabby place in a far flung provinces and willing to farm and fish ., then having cheap life is possible but if you are used to nice food and good place .. well., sorry to disappoint you. Life here is just as expensive as the rest of the world when you prefer a good life.
I agree with you on food choices although here in manila you will have alot of restaurant choices tho its a bit expensive if you dont cook yourself but if you buy on groceries i think you'll save alot more 😅 idk if you also try to go to local market... But yea keep safe always...
I'm glad I don't have to deal with daily noise pollution while living abroad. I was expecting you to bring it up. Maybe you simply forgot, or is it not a concern for your family?
i want to retire probably 5 yrs. from now may i ask your suggestion or opinion which country or city to retire pls as you already experience living in different country from down under
@melbourne2012 What’s good for me might not be the best for you, so I always recommend visiting places for a holiday first to see what feels right. But if you're asking for my opinion, I really like the Philippines, Thailand, and Malaysia. They’re all safe, affordable, offer a good quality of life, have great condos, and vibrant expat communities. If you're into big cities, Manila in the Philippines, Bangkok in Thailand, and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia have lots of condo options, expat communities, and plenty to do. But with big cities, you’ll have to deal with traffic, pollution, and noise. If you prefer a quieter place, you can choose a beach town with less hustle, but also fewer amenities-though the relaxed pace and beautiful scenery make up for it. Here are some great suggestions for each country: Thailand: -Phuket and Pattaya are popular for expats, offering a good mix of beach life and urban amenities. -Chiang Mai is another favorite, even though it's not by the beach-it's laid-back, surrounded by mountains, and has a large expat community. -Koh Samui and Krabi are island destinations with beautiful beaches and a more relaxed vibe. Philippines: -Cebu and Davao are quieter cities with good expat communities, nice beaches, and plenty of amenities. -Dumaguete is known for its peaceful vibe and affordable living, and is popular among retirees. -Palawan (specifically El Nido or Coron) and Siargao offer stunning scenery and slower-paced island life. Malaysia: -Penang is a favorite among expats, with its great food, heritage, and beach life. -Langkawi is a beautiful island with a slower pace of life and stunning beaches. -Malacca is a quieter city with a rich history and peaceful vibe, though it's not a beach town. Each of these places offers its own unique lifestyle, so it really depends on whether you prefer beach life or a mix of urban and nature. Good luck with your retirement plans!

@harrybee Nice to hear from you! We’ve actually already left the Philippines, but I hope you're enjoying your stay. Enjoy the gym and mall for us! 😊

I feel like these estimates are pretty low with today’s inflation.
