- In this video i will show you how i reseal wire/spoke rims, thw items that you need are:
1 to 2 tubes of GE caulking
Caulk gun
2" paint brush
Stiff welding wire brush
Flat head screwdriver
Piece of flexible cardboard(cereal box)
Grinder with wire wheel
Step 1 - take off the old existing seal with the flat head screwdriver
Step 2 - use the grinder with a wire wheel to get rid of the seal left behind
Step 3 - use the welding wire brush to help get at the old seal by the nipples of the spokes
Step 4 - get the caulking into the gun and put caulking on to the nipples first like a circle
Step 5 - grab the paint brush and dab the caulking around the nipples, this helps to push the caulking into the nipple amd helps to take out the air bubbles
Step 6 - grab the caulking and zig zag a layer of caulking on to the nipples
Step 7 - out of the cereal box cardboard make a spreader like i did in the video amd evenly spread the caulking(make sure not to go too deep)
Step 8 - let the rim SIT FOR 4 DAYS BEFORE MOUNTING A TIRE ON IT.
Thanks watching, subscribe and like the video if it helped you out!
I love this in depth tutorial. No B.S just straight to the point. Thanks for this video bro, now I can do my rims myself. Subbed.
Smart kid ! Uses job money to provide for family, uses scrap metal to put car together the way he wants. Righteous and Noble he is.
It's ends up being the complete opposite with me🤣🤣
Thanks Homie for showing the way to do this I have two wheels I need to do you did a great job Bro 👊
Thanks homie I got some 14" spokes 3 years ago I had to reseal and still holding strong and recently i got some 17" spokes I had to reseal it works good appreciate you bro

CHUYdaBOMBER :.
Thank you
Good video homie, thanks for sharing your knowledge
How would you know if the spokes can be trued before you seal them?
He said nipples 😂😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂
Thanks now I know how to do this instead of buying a new wheel. A question though, is it a factory defect or did I do anything to cause it to leak? Like hopping my ride?
Its normal on all wire wheels for the seals to go bad eventually. But if the wheel is a year old then it is a factory defect.
I did forget to mention, you will have better results if you remove the air stem.
@@lowlowsandmore Thank you for that extra info and yes I have had the wheels for about a little under 2 years.
After sealing the new seal can you add another layer the next day
You could but it wont adhere to the new seal. You will need to score the new seal as in using aggresive sandpaper or something to make scratches in the new seal to put on another seals on top of that one. Putting on 1 thick seal is enough.
@@lowlowsandmore thanks brother 👌
Wheel looks good 💯
Thanks for the video it helped a lot hopefully I did it rite 👊🏽
Nice work and thanks for sharing homie💯
Would it be bad if I just seal over the old seal ? Don’t have the power tools to remove the old seal
The old seal needs to come off
Gracias, I recently bough 4 tires. One of the spoke wheels leaked air out in three days. Took it back and tire guy showed me the spokes all leaking. Said it was the spokes. I saw the tire in the tina and noticed the bubbles all around the wheel spokes leaking air. He said they could not seal so I placed a tube on the wheel. My question is why only one tire? Do you think it already had a tube? Thank you for any advice.
It might've had a tube before the new tires. Seals are rubber so the heat and cold from the weather effects how they hold tight. A lot of the time once 1 seal goes bad then the others will go bad like the dominoe effect.
If u get 20 year old wheels that never ben mounted there new should u reaseal anyways even tho the seal looks ok but there 20 years old were just inside the box
Jose Guillen
That's a good question, if the seal looks perfect I wouldn't miss with it. If the seal gives out then yeah fix it.
Coo i just bought a nice old school set of 13x7 bolt ons with caps and spinners for 100 bucks just need new seals i got them cause u dont see anyone mobbing on bolt ons no more reminded me of my first set of 13s
Jeff E
Nice
Jeff E i also have some bolt ons for my s10
Yup bolt ons were the shiz bak then the only company that makes them now is Galaxy wire wheels there a good wire wheel co ben around a while check out the website i got some 14s standards also i got luxor resealed and bam like new no scratches on them got lucky
@@joseguillen8702 McLean also still makes bolt-ons
I’m in the process of resealing my 17x9 reverse Dayton’s built in 98.
Gracias doing mines hoy

About how long do they last after doing this
Bot to do this to my 20" deep dish spokes
Where did you get 20" deep dish spoke wheels?😮😮😮😮
Some lady was selling them for 300 😂 her husband was in tha pen but I sold them already for 600
how long should i wait to dry?
Juan Ruvalcaba
I wait 3-4 days before you get a tire mounted on the rim.
lol this guy
Great video that's how I do my rims
esa tweety ese shadow lokote x3 hey do you have a video of how to remove all the spokes from a spoke rims ??
My problem is i have 3 rows of spokes. 2 inside the dish in the centre... They sealed just great . But , the spokes set in the rim at the front keep getting leaks from when they mount the tyre. it always knocks the silicon seal off the rim and hence the spokes start leaking again. Any tips for mounting the tyres or protecting the silicon once it is on?
Gorilla tape
Where i can find the silicone ,name of the silicon?
Thank you, good vid
MEME

Jay Dee Peña

Jay Dee Peña
Theres another video on knock offs too.

LowLows & More!
Do you have a video or could you please upload one on how to remove the spokes ?
100% natural silicone is the best to use, I think, when sealing a wire wheel.
What about flex seal?
I haven't tried that
It’s better to use a brass wire wheel and brush to minimize the damage to the wheels
I didnt know spoke wheel need that now i gotta flat on my motorcycle some bullshit, get rid of this wheels
🙌🤙
I don't judge anybody's hustle... except my neighbor. Instead of getting a real job dude goes into vacants and steals toilets and sinks then sells them on marketplace. Great video though. I'm actually watching to put into practice.
It's a leak er
🤣🤣🤣🤣 4 days!!!
