Kyle Bull is my go to for amp vids. No sims, pure raw tone, metal and he is entertaining. The best🤘 tx!
Yeah I guess he’s fine.
Nothing wrong with sims though
@@RichardGarcia93 Sims make me puke, I'd rather go full analog.

You're one of the few youtubers that plays a real head into a real cab, please keep it that way, IRs are nice but hey, we also need to hear the real sound of a cab 🤘
I dont think you will get the difference really much… Good thing about irs is that they are will be same no matter what, and real cab… You wont get really same sound, u always get a bit different at least because u using different mic position. Best variant is use reactive load with ir and speaker connected to load. So you will get same response as you will get in real cab, bc you got power amp section included in sound, with same impedance as you using real cab, but it wont be loud and easy to record, bc u got ir’ed signal out of it
My first tube amp more than 20 years ago was engl and it is so awesome to see my favourite tuber dive in with these with such a grereat tones! Also my question for Kyle is "Where would you guide me in engl considering that my tone today is marshall?" My first touch on tube amps was Engl Screamer 50w head
Sounds great. Love the open, wild midrange of my Rivera Clubster Royale Recording. I have RCA blackplates in the preamp and RCA outputs and it gets crazy without ever losing articulation and clarity. Swear you would dig it
Thank you Kyle! I used to put a kraken preamp in mine, but now I tend to like the Engl as much. I put the gain slightly under 9 o'clock and midrange button in as well as midrange almost dimed. And also h.o.f reverb, tc electronic spark booster. Got super close Pretty Maids "Red hot and Heavy" tone as I'm 50+. I'm also putting treble on 3 o'clock as I always done.
Robert, are you putting the HOF reverb in front or loop for that tone? Thanks brada.
@@Tatted-ne7tuIn the loop and also the spark in the loop. But now I found that my boss sd-1 in the front and skipping the spark is better. I also like to ad that dimed gain on the clean and boss-sd 1 with gain on 9 o'clock gave a close enough Dokken "Back for the attack" tone, if you like that kind of old good hair metal 😊
Killer video Kyle! I'm sold on the Fireball 100 now. Appreciate you and keep making these killer demos brother!
That was a siick intro dude!
🤘😎
That ENGL is badass, very crystal and lush sound. I ride with a 2 x 12
Clean, wicked, and simple..
The Fireball is the best demon I’ve ever played! Works great for ALL metal!
Death, black, thrash, core and power! Just dial it to your prefered setting!
Gain in tons, and more saturation than you need!
With the Engl PRO cab you have everything you need!
E standard, drop C or B standard, it takes what you got🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I had the fireball 60 mark I with powerball II side by side with one cabinet and tube switcher. I got the same sound (with different settings of course) from them. I think that fireball gain character is used on the powerball as 3rd channel. But best of the best is still Peavey JSX (ultra channel) with FAT switch off 😁
Absolutely love the Engl Fireball 100. It's just the ultimate metal beast of tone! This amp, if I'm not mistaken, was used by Loomis in Nevermore. That was when I really took a liking to seven string composition. It has that "magic" about it that just works incredibly well for down-tuned guitar. Great job on showcasing that Kyle. And really, great job on all your Engl demos. Cheers brother!
Loomis has used nearly every high gain amp in Engl's inventory! He really was a fan.
I own one, I think it’s a great amp. It’s warm, thick, and organic sounding. It has all the gain you need. I had the Artist 100 and sold it. I felt it had too much brightness and compression. I’ve played other Engls too and I agree the Fireball is my favorite amp they offer.
I think that this ENGL seems to have a bigger snarl & possibility a better bite than what you’ve demo’ed over the ENGL month. I’m still feeling that second amp you threw down but I think I may have to watch the videos back to back to decide who’s the better of the two. Now I definitely feel like this just does that thing for the metal thrash tones really well but I do like an a,p that can do a couple of tricks really well. I also love how clean it seems to be at that roaring gain stage! Killer demo!
🤘🤘
Ordered one today been eyeing it for a minute but this video made me pull the trigger your the man! Keep up the killer videos!
Thank you I appreciate the no post processing. Amp, cab, guitar and microphone that is all I need to know what is up ! The amp is great and excellent playing! Thank you
It has a kinda mesa dual recto meets soldano slo vibe love your videos kyle its all about amps high gain tube amps that is love the tones. Those boost pedals are cool too i on the waza sd-1 and ive got a real fulltone ocd v2.I recently got a way huge swollen pickle mk2 and boss ds-2 a seymour duncan distortion and a wampler dracarys high gain distortion pedal love em keep rockin kyle cheers jeff!!!
I purchased this amp because of this video and am running it though a mesa 4x12 oversized cab and oh my goodness!!!!! This thing sounds so fricken epic! Thanks man!!!
Like I said in the FB group post a week or so back. That heritage sounds awesome no matter what amp you play it through. This is definitely one of my favorite tones with it thus far. Hope that you'll get to review an Engl invader.
Thanks man! Love that guitar. And I'm going to try!
I've been waiting for you to put out his video and you did not disappoint. Great demo! It's such a fantastic sounding amp. Which overdrive pedal do you think pairs best with the Engl Fireball 100?
Damn, that sounds sick! Now I need a Fireball 100!
It’s like crunchy, heavy, Velcro. The sound of quickly pulling a bandaid off your hairy legs, but the bandaid is made out of duct tape. I love it! I need it!!
Velcro is the same analogy I use for the distortion character I like. Sometimes like the purr of a motorcycle idling
kyle!!! well this was weird...been checking out the fireball recently (mite b next on the list for me)...love the tone and simplicity...cheers brother!!!
Great demo! That's exactly the sound I love! I want the guitar to sound like a fierce jetfighter dog fight, actionpacked and roaring!
I'm sold on this one. I have been looking for a high gain amp to use in my old school deathmetal band. Going back and forth between the Peavey 6505, EVH 5150 3 Stealth and an Engl Fireball 100. They all sound great but the one that I'm always impressed with no matter who is demoing it is the Engl Fireball 100, I like it more than the other Engl amps as well, even the ones that twice as expensive.
Love my FB100. Definitely what Kyle says - gotta dial with the ears and not the eyes. You can also drop the treble and raise the presence for a totally different flavor from this amp. Gets huge and smooth.
The 7 string really brought out the sound of that Engl Fireball. Might pick one up.
Kyle dude always solid entertaining videos and I'm an Engl fan boy too!
Awesome! I was kinda surprised when you said that the amp was different thatn the Powerball. Then I checked this video and there seem to be a difference indeed. I guess that the Fireball would suit your style more than the Powerball does, the latter is better suited for lower tunings (like I use and I tried the Powerball so I know). Ever checked out the Invader? You might love it as well. Perhaps it's easier to come across these amps here in Europe because they are way cheaper than in the other side of the Atlantic.
I like high gain amps for riffs, and I also like burgers. This is a cool channel.
For many years I didn´t played the Fireball 100 in the shops, because I thought it is a cheaper, simpler version of the Powerball 2 …
Oh, I was totally wrong, last year compared these 2 amps side by side and the Fireball 100 was so brutal and extreme aggressive, a tone I have never heard before . Amazing amp !
great demo, thank you for making all the engl videos. i gotta kick on a digitech drop when you say what guitar/pickup/pedal/etc you're using because you do it way too much. you gotta do it, i guess. it's cool i understand. i just wanna hear your riffin when an amp sounds that good. lookin forward to what the next engl video is.
I had the Engl Fireball 60 over 12 years ago and was the best metal amp I owned. Period.
Why sell it?
That color is exactly what I go for on that LP-style. I have an Ibanez JCRG3-VV (vintage violin color), looks almost just like that! Killer. Also, dude, you have slowly become my "go to" amp guy, thanks for doing what you do! Do me a favor though, get that KSR Orion 45 on here asap!!!!
I have the Extreme Aggression (Kreator) version of the Fireball. Total keeper.
Sold the savage mk1 to get the Fireball 100- based off the tone from the Fireball 25. Blows away the savage, fb25, 530 preamp and the 570 preamp. The power section of the 100 has got something special going on. Not to mention the bottom switch makes it the most low end ever heard from an engl. After 6 Engls the Fireball 100 stays to slay.
So I ended up getting this amp with an Engl 4x12 cab with V30s. I am contemplating on what OD to use. I have an SD-1 Waza and to be honest on the classic mode vs the custom mode, neither really do much for this amp, on my previous solid state amp it was awesome. It would awesome of you did an OD comparison on for ther Fireball 100. I especially want to hear the mud killer with that tight control (mud killer) knob.
I have a Powerball 1 and getting a Powerball 2 because there is one selling locally. I wanted the Fireball but none around. I heard that the lead 3 channel on the PWB 2 is almost the same as the Fireball. I also like that I will have 4 channels that are all good and useable.
Sounded great to me with any of the settings or guitars you used. I think that says a lot.
I truly came to this exact same conclusion about 2 years ago. Your ear is amazing. I'm just waiting to bite the firebullet and invest into this amp versus paying off debt.
my absolute favorite tones have always been hotrodded marshalls blended with mesa rectifiers. id love to hear the engl fireball blended with the fryette deliverance behind you
It's funny how even after all the clickbait, drama and over kinds of playing to the algorithm by every other youtuber; your consistency, watchability and character are the main part of your success. Don't need for any of that bullshit when you can just release great content day after day, we enjoy watching you do what you so clearly love, great job.
He's got just as much clickbait thumbnails as everyone else
I dial my PRS MT15 at 6-6-6 (L-M-H)…… you should try that setting. I run a Maxon OD808 and ISP Decimator in line and a Sonic Stomp and Noise Gate in the Loop……love my sound! I have two 1x12 PRS MT112 cabs loaded with Eminence DV-77 and I use ESP ltd EC1000 guitars with Dimebucker, Dave Mustaine Thrash and Nazgûl/Sentient (three different EC 1000).
I got my hands on a Engl E636 Extreme Aggression Head a couple years ago. It looks like a Fireball 100, has the same features just that every feature and knob it has are on steroids 🤣 If I would not have been that lucky that 4 years of intense ebay search did pay off in the end I think I would have gone for a Fireball 100 as well. Those Amps are capable of the most incredible metal and clean tone right out of the clear signal and worth every single $.
Awesome early Title Fight licks! Man I love your videos!
*This is the one!”*
-Kyle, every single video. 😂
That thing does sound insane. Aggressive punch with real snarl. I am going to look into picking one up. Thanks, bro'!
Too loud for me. Can't play bedroom levels
@beefnacos6258 Yeah good call. You need the ability to at least play this head on 3ish - 4ish
My God Kyle. This amp is the ONE! Sounds incredible man.
Thanks, agreed!
Kyle, as an axe fx 3 owner and fellow audiophile, I ALWAYS demo the models in the Afx3 with a standard mesa 4x12 and sm57 FIRST..and I get 99% close to your demos😊 It is HELLA fun. You sir, dial in high gain amps just like I would..you have a KILLER ear for what makes a good rhythm tone. My favorite chugger on TH-cam. I love you dude😊
Which IR?
@@chronicnarnia Mesa TRAD 4X12 with V30s. Basically a snapshot of Kyle's setup.
Great comparison. Could you take a look at the powerball mk1?
I have the fireball 25 and it has a fat amount of low end aswell and the clean channel does great cleans and if you turn up the gain you get a nice tube break up sound to classic rock. Not sure if the 100 does this aswell because the extra headroom? But its by far the most versatile amp i played for a mini... fat chugs and pristine cleans.
Also good job on the demo
Thanks for your videos as always, do you prefer the Fireball over the Savage?
I really enjoy when you leave the mistakes in like "enger firebar" I laugh every time, makes the vids that much more enjoyable because we all as humans do that type of stuff 🤘😅
Dude I just bought the 40th Anniversary Fireball 100 and matching 412 XXL ENGL cab with the red/white racing stripe. I have been on the fence on the decision for a while but I love the raw thrash tone. I'm not a fan of the Savage, but the Fireball just has more balls ya know!
Also, my favorite ENGL. Great Vid!
This is my favorite ENGL amp. I also like the Inferno.
Love the channel, but it so nice to hear some different riffs. Content is great, but it gets a little mundane hearing the riff’s every video. Kyle can play well, wish he played with more confidence and mixed up the playing more.
The fireball is a beast! Thanks for the demo!
You'd be amazed at what salt, pepper, garlic powder, and oregano can hit on the tastebuds!
Okay, guitar question:
I've decided that I need the Synergy SYN-2/5050 combination for my studio more than I would need the straight tone of the PRS MT-15.
Is the Fireball 100 that much more 🔥 than the Powerball or Savage preamps?
Thank you for all you do, bro! LOVE all your appearances in videos from 42 Gear Street V!
Damn, that sounds like a warmer sounding Rectifier. I would agree it is the one to have.
I've been using this amp for almost 15 years and have always loved it. The interesting thing is that the crunch channel, when turned up to maximum, sounds as good (maybe even better) than a plexi IMO
@@mbgmail5911 i said It sound as good or even better. Not like a Plexi. Read the comment before answer.
Btw this guy compares this amp with a Plexi and explain exactly my point of view
th-cam.com/video/LsMKlew2v80/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
@@gianluca.magri.guitarTrue. But don’t bother with this guy. He’s literally spamming the comments with nonsense and plain lies about this amp. Probably some forum troll who wants to spread rumours.
The Fireball is like the combination of all the strengths of a Marshall, Recto, and SLO mixed into one amp.
That is a long lived faulty.
Great work, KB... 🤘
Sounds great, but with Engl Invader power chords sound smoother and even more organic - that model has insanely well designed high gain path of its preamp.
I had the Fireball and then also Artist Edition 100 watt that to me sounds more Mesa-ish warmer/organic/expensive. So I sold my Fireball. Clean channel is so good on the fireball though.
Dang that amp is toit, toit like a tiger !!!!!!!
I need to fly you to Ontario here to set up my amp !!!!!!
Was that a Green Rhino mk4? Also, how does the fireball 25 compare? Great vid🤘
I know you have to use the classic angled cab for comparison, but this might be worth doing another vid with the oversize straight cab..
Kyle: the greatest amp ever is the Larry Dino. It’s a custom handmade amp. Jon Schaffer of ICED EARTH uses it as his main rhythm amp since 1995. It seriously is THAT damn good, but crazy expensive. He also makes a cheaper signature preamp.
The fireball and iron ball are definitely on my bucket list.
Those pedals really color the tone. Still sounds phenomenal
The low end on that ENGL sounds massive!
Three amps so hard to pick the winner. The ENGL Fireball, A Mesa Roadster/ a Mezzabarba Trinity. And an ENGL Savage Mark 2.
By far my favorite Engl
Fireball?!? That sure is a funny way to spell "Savage."
no.
YES! Sorry, bud. There's no beating the Savage. No need to be in denial.@@belligerentamateur
@@GamerSirus still no.
@@mbgmail5911 not sure why you're so bitter towards me these days, but it's all good. Hope you have a good day.

Love this review most honest video on the internet .... gonna buy one now ... do you offer discounts on divorce lawyers ???
Both you and @agufish feeling some Hells Bells the last couple days!
Hey there, Kyle, What's that clip above the nut on your guitar and where can I buy one?
Im dying to know how this one is compared to the new founders edition, would the latter be the better and more versatile of the two, or does it sound different?
The video I've been waiting for since last year! Haha. Sounds massive.
Hard agree man. Love the FB100.
You should do a video of your top 10 all-time favorite amps and play them through the same cab. Would be sick to see
Kyle how would you compare this the Fireball 100 with the newer Badcat Lynx? Which one is more brutal without any boosts?
My favorite guitar gear youtuber, you're the best dawg.
Appreciate u
That heritage LP is so beautiful man.
Great Fireballs !!
In my quest for saving for a Splawn Quick Rod 100 awesome amps like this finally get on my radar. Damn it. 🤣
Ordered one two weeks ago, can't wait to get it.
Sounded righteous! 🤘
Wish I played that 60w they had at GC a while back.
Want to see a demo of the Randall KH103. Thanks!
Loved hearing the Agony Scene riff!!!!
It even has that red glow thing going. Phat
Btw! Thank you for throwing the sd1 in there. Most everyone uses a tube screamer and I don’t have one but I do have an sd1 😂
they sound almost identical anyway haha especially in a mix, it's basically impossible to hear the differences. I use an SD-1 with my band and sometimes I swap it out with a TS9. When the whole band is playing, the subtle differences are totally lost
That guitar is beautiful!!!
Kyle gives the killer...no cleans or filler!!!! Kyle, the Victory Jack V30 MK2 is a hidden gem killer metal amp. I know your not a big Victory guy but this amp owns!!!
what do you think of this amp compared to the evh stealth without a boost?
I have the Fireball 60 head. And by far, it's one of the best in my fleet.
with the Chrome ? I have that one. What Guitars do you like with it best ?
@teriakamoto I have the blacked out version. It looks Seymour Duncan pockups. I like my Jackson Rhoads with JB pockups the best. But all my guitars sound great through it.
Awesome. Thanks @@immortalgram
Just bought one. So sick! ❤
Got the silverface version an still love it.
