How to choose wheels / sport rims for your car (WHEEL OFFSET)

Wheels / Sport Rims offset is probably one of the most confusing and misunderstood specification. Even though you might have all the other rims spec correct (such as rim diameter, pcd, width), if you mess up the wheels offset, the look car of the car after wheel fixed won't turn to be your liking. Some worst case senario, you can't even fix the wheels because the rims keep on scratching your car fender during travel.
To find the best offset for your car always refer to your original stock wheel offset as a guide line. I hope this video shed some light for your guys to have a better understanding what wheel offset really is.

What would you recommend in terms of offset tolerance when buying new set of rims? does +/- 20mm is OK acceptable from stock rim size?
Does lowering the car suspension effect in choosing rims?
Does the offset change when you go to a larger size wheel so if you have 17 inch wheels on a civic and you put on 19 inch aftermarket wheels, do you need to try and get the same offset or maybe a slightly smaller offset?
Would one need to compensate offset (smaller offset number) for wider rim/tyre? Say original is 18x7.5 (48) to 18x8.5(ET ?). Thank you.

Boss. I just change my 16" stock rim honda city to 16" 7jj et38. But, now I faced new problem of the front tyre hit the absorber. The new tyre installed is PS4 205/50/16. Original is 185/55/16. Seek your advise on how to solve this. TQVM. (Fyi, I change PS4 tyre at your shop. Just realize the shop after seeing your video. 😄)

I have a question. I currently owned myvi gen3. I want to change my rims from 15 inch to 16 inch. Is it recommended to change to sport spring and absorber as well. Hope some one can give me some idea on this. Thanks.
Im no pro, but imo, stock suspension still works great with that 16 inch rims. But if you planning to upgrade your suspension as well, better do the suspension first than wheels later. After, there’s sway bar (depending how deep u want to go, there’s multiple option for bar on myvi). This improve handling, upgrade components mean better performance and of course looks.
