They should make an episode where it’s “real stories” vs “fake stories” where they take proven true or false stories and have the couch members guess which is which
@rainblue4789 There is every type of story of reddit I bet you could find a lot of stories that are made to be fake and even claim they are, its easier to find stuff like this on reddit than you think
Courtney complimenting her husband, Shayne being flustered, immediately followed by Angela quoting Ratatuiolle and talking about pasta is my favorite Smosh moment of the year.
@@Storming_editsThey did. I know what you mean but in this case it is to create a certain tone of somewhat flirting I guess rather than a friend complimenting another friend.
Smosh freakin saves me I’m underage and recently fully moved to another country alone, I have panic attacks very often, and my country is in active war. Smosh helps me not only with my English, but with my stress management SO much. You guys are very talented, positive and bright Thank you for your work
No joke, my husband and daughter make pancakes every Saturday morning for breakfast. We have breakfast together and we use to watch whatever show we all agreed on. A few years ago, I started turning Reddit Stories on while we ate our pancakes. That became our Saturday morning ritual. The episode when Angela said "Get your pancakes out, we all freaked out and started laughing because we had already been doing that for a while and thought it was so funny that she caught on to the idea that it might be someone's Saturday morning thing. So now, when they're done cooking the pancakes, the yell across the house to me "Come get your pancakes out!"😂
I literally teared up when they brought the pancakes out and then cried more when they read the last story! How amazing it must feel to read about the impact you had on someone’s life in a way you never imagined. It is crazy to witness how we are connected as humans.
I remember reading this story on Reddit. It got reposted to the Smosh subreddit and everyone in the comments was like omg we've got to get Shayne to read this. It was crazy
They and Shayne both really cemented their styles this year. Shayne looks like the coolest dad in the neighborhood and court looks like the coolest person you’ve ever met.
as a sperm donor baby, that story is the reason my mom opted to connect with other parents that used the same donor. my brother happened to live just down the street from us and we got to grow up together. thank god all of my siblings knew of each other so we could form appropriate relationships. that story has my heart breaking for them all :(
I'm a sperm donor baby too, and yeah, there's a reason that some donor conceived folks where I live are advocating for legislation that restricts the number of families a sperm donor can work with. I didn't have a known donor, so it took a lot of work to find my half siblings, and there's probably many more. Some of the ones we found lived less than ten miles away. Good vibes from another donor baby
@@hollyjollyproductions It's so crazy to me to hear about people having half siblings so close in proximity! I wonder if I didn't have this outcome because my sperm donor is foreign. I have some half siblings from a different country (not sperm donor's) and then others who are in same country as myself, but none of us are really close to each other.
i was checking the comments in hopes of that but its still so new, so hopefully he will at some point! someone reply to this if he does so i get notified PLEASE!!
So to tack onto the story about smosh impacting someone’s life… Y’all really helped get us through 2023. My wife had cancer. Diagnosed with a tumor December 2022, surgery January, chemo February - May. Cancer free beyond that but still recovering. We’ve watched every Smosh through that whole thang. You guys are awesome.
Wishing you guys well ❤ I had a similar experience my mom was diagnosed with cancer May of 2023 and due to complications couldn’t start treatment until September. I live across the state and was starting grad school when she began treatment but I went to see her every weekend. I found this podcast on one of my drives to see her and it helped me so much. I needed it so bad because if I couldn’t have something to distract myself and laugh I would end up crying. She is Cancer free as of October 2023 and has had health struggles this year but luckily my Smosh obsession intensified to help me through it and she is doing significantly better. All that to say thank you for sharing and I’m so glad other people had this in their lives when they needed it
My mom was diagnosed with cancer in December 2023 and passed away September 2024. I have been watching Smosh everyday since she passed. The cast and crew have such good energy and it feels like I'm watching friends have fun. It has been a struggle, but I know I would be so much worse if I didn't have Smosh to look forward to. Wishing everyone well who is dealing with cancer.
I love the AITA sims story, so unhinged at first but made so much sense with the sims aspect involved. The drastic tone switch from the Sims story to the half siblings one is insane though
The last story is truly heartwarming. Not Shanye getting flustered and Angela roasting him about getting it in person. Thank you for this joy all year long. Reddit stories 2025 here we come!
To be fair, I’m pretty sure most of us gasped. I LOVE garlic and I’m not Italian. But the whole thing was just absolutely awful, especially the salt / sass line 😱🤦🏻♀️
Angela’s reaction to the sibling post, and then tearing up to the final post + pancakes… she is a shining light on this channel, this is probably the best Reddit stories trio hands down
I feel so bad for the half siblings. Unfortunately, I fully believe it. There’s more than one documentary out there about these people that donate more than they’re supposed to. It’s crazy scary how often and easily it happens.
Yeah, it's a bigger problem than the average person realises, especially since one person can donate up to a set limit by country, so donor kids never really truly know how big their genetic family is. It's definitely a modern day ethical issue that keeps growing for sure.
crazy hearing about that last story because as someone who heard that same Shayne psychology rant 5 years ago as I was thinking about what I wanted to do in college, I can proudly say I love being a psychology major
Yes! I remember considering psychology and seeing someone who I had been a fan of for years (I also loved So Random and a kid and my parents were avid Goldbergs watchers lol) get a degree in psychology made me lean more towards it and now I love being a psych major!
I was also thinking of psychology but my mom discouraged me saying I have to live in institutions with the "crazies" and she said it would also make me go crazy 😭
as someone who doesnt play sims, never has, i cannot describe the sheer confusion and anxiety that i felt when he read this story. i thought i somehow got dosed with LSD 😂
She completely butchered the meaning of it for the sake of her argument. The sentiment of it in the film is the opposite of what they're saying, as here they're saying it as in 'everyone can cook', the sentiment the film is against at the end.
the donor thing is quite specifically part of why they cap the number of times you're allowed to donate in a particular location in many places. IDK if he lied about it so he could donate more in the same area, or if the laws/rules there are different, but the possibility of people hooking up with their half siblings is a genuine concern with donors. Edit to add: I'm absolutely crying about the last story, it's so incredibly sweet.
Yeah according to the Wales Fertility Institute one donor can only conceive with up to ten families. Although there is an unlimited number of children within those families, it is incredibly unlikely that this guy's sperm was used to father around four children in ten separate families. I don't doubt that the rules were broken somewhere.
This all depends on how old OOP was, but the 80s/90s was a wild time with very lax regulations on donors. There was also a huge issue with doctors swapping out donated sperm for their own; Doctor Jan Karbaat from the Netherlands, for example, is suspected of having using his own sperm for nearly 200 children.
@Willisoutforblood this story is actually from Australia, not Wales, as New South Wales is an Australian state (it's where Sydney is)! Apparently the law there is maximum 5 families, so either as you said a rule was broken, or the law was different when this happened
I'm moreso baffled why OP AND her donor/father in law NEVER EVER WONDERED IF IT WAS THEM. OP didn't to her due diligence when marrying her half brother. Most places make you prove you're not related... Imagine knowing you were donor conceived and not checking if the father of your future children is related to you. And the donor disgusts me too. YOU knew your sons girlfriend was donor conceived and you never even thought that she could be yours??? This is common fucking sense. Also he hid his donations from his son and that's just fucking mean. Your son could, and does, have siblings that you hid from him, ONE BEING HIS WIFE. -A lesbian who'll use donor sperm and will make sure to have resources so my child can check anyone they think of sharing a bed with. Also, seems like this post was made by an Australian, which is where I live. In Victoria though, not New South Wales.
@@RPdykethis is not the OP’s fault? why would she think to check if her FIL would be her donor when he’s literally never mentioned it? his own son didn’t know?? And most places make you prove what? That is literally not a thing in Australia (where this happened). You mention wanting to use a donor but you clearly have no knowledge on how it actually works. And what you can vs can’t control Especially when most donor conceived people don’t even know they are.
I bet this comment is getting buried by now but I figured I’d open up since it’s the last one of 2024. I found this podcast this year, and the videos really helped me think through some important decisions in my life while I worked overnight stocking Walmart shelves, it made me realize how a relationship I was in was incredibly uncomfortable and possessive. The stories about younger people in abusive relationships, wondering if it’s worth making it work and the near universal response of “you’re so young, get out of there, you’ll find someone else who really makes you happy” really opened my eyes. I broke up with him, and I didn’t mean to but about a week later I confessed my feelings to an old friend, someone who’d always been by my side, and they reciprocated the feelings, they’d even planned a confession already, meant for the next year, not everything’s perfect, but now I’ve never felt more happy and at peace in my whole life, thank you Smosh, have a happy new year.
this isnt anything major, but shortly after i graduated hs, i wasnt sure abt what to do for college and didnt have any goals. thats when i was watching a reddit stories vid where shayne talked about how financially smart it is to take gen eds at a community college. tbh, when other people in my life suggested community college at that time, i wasnt thrilled with the idea, but hearing what shayne & co said abt it, i decides to give it a shot. now im two semesters in and actually really like it here, plus im saving SO much money. ty smosh
I did the same thing. And it took a lot of pressure off to know that I would be automatically accepted at our state university once I finished at community college.
And legit, it's SIGNIFICANTLY easier to get into a prestigious 4 year university after you get your gen ed at community College than if you went from HS. It's how my friend was able to get into Stanford. Wish I knew that when I got my bachelors.
@xandraj5487 FR. i did pretty bad my junior and senior year of hs bc of mental health issues, so now im glad that i can make up for it before i try to get a bachelor's
1:03:11 that exact episode is what helped me choose my psychology major as well. I loved how Shayne talked so passionately and I found what he talked about so interesting. I graduate next May and don't regret a thing, so thanks Smosh
Their more recent Smosh casts inspired me to change my major to psychology! Shayne talking about it fuels me with constant excitement about my degree 🥹
@@siennajademusic8877 Same here! I've been dealing with imposter syndrome since starting my degree, but listening to Shayne talk about psychology with such passion makes me feel a LOT better! : )
1:05:12 Shayne’s trying to make jokes to deflect🤣but honestly, smosh is so special and totally impactful whether they realize it or not. Thinking about Smosh not being around truly makes me devistated and I’m personally SO grateful to all smosh members for the continued laughter and amazing content. Honestly wouldn’t be the same without it! (Been watching for over 10 years)!
The last story made me sobbb 😭😭😭 I found smosh in 2017 and I can't express how important it is to me. Watchng these cuties grow from their post-defy era to mythical to owning smosh again has been inspiring. I love you guys so much! ❣
that last story made me so emotional. i too listened to that same podcast episode not knowing what psychology was but hearing shayne talk about it inspired me to take AP psychology my senior year of high school. now, im going to major in it in college. im rly glad he got to hear how much of an effect he and his passions have on people
That last story was such an amazing ending to 2024 reddit stories. You guys aren't "just" a TH-cam channel, you help people all over the world; being an escape from reality, having videos to look forward to every week, being an inspiration to so so many people both younger and older. And last but not least, being an escape from loneliness and like a "shoulder to cry on". This may seem cheesy or whatever, but honestly it's true.
The people at Smosh will never understand just how much this channel has been there for me. I have been watching since 2006 and through out my childhood, teens and now adulthood Smosh's humor and sometimes like the psychology guy you all have made me think about things differently
@@starrr365 yeah he apparently hurt his neck and was unable to look left or right, so they got the chairs in so he could swivel and still talk with eye contact to Amanda and Shayne lol
The last story was so precious! But also, I would love to see Angela's reaction to the Graduation video because I bawled my eyes out the first time I saw it, it was so wholesome and sweet!
To add on to Smosh impacting people (and this isn't as big as some other people's stories but...) I had a coworker that i was stuck with for 12 hours a night as guards with nothing to talk about. It was a really rough start and anyone who knows, a rough relationship with a coworker can make work feel like it's a slog. It was rough up until he randomly said something that I recognized from a reddit stories video and I asked about it. Fast forward to now, we can spend a whole shift just talking about Smosh videos smiling and laughing the whole time. Thank you so much for helping me bridge a gap between my coworker and I and make those shifts something I look forward to. And Clayton if you see this, see you at work, buddy.
Range of emotion: exasperated at powerpoint bro, raging at bully, livid at fraud mom, confused as hell at Sims, horrified at half-sib couple (and pissed at the dad and system that allowed it to happen), smiling at the pancakes and finally, sobbing at Shayne's story.
I have noticed that in stereotypical couples where the men cook as well as the woman, that she is still expected to do the everyday grunt and the dad does the fun-creative meals. Not always the case ofc, but it kind of shows that distinction of the "day-to-day" chore of cooking and the creative skill cooking, which can be different things.
I was in the same situation as that last story a couple months ago, finally decided to change my major, which I had stubbornly decided to go through despite how much it affected me socially, mentally, and physically. I'm also a junior and right now about to start my new major in a couple weeks. While Smosh didn't influence my decision much, I can say that on days where I had trouble feeling like a human, hearing this podcast helped me get on my feet, do things like finally cleaning and cooking, and feel closer to a normal human. Thank you, everyone who helps put this show together.
1:06:56 Shane absolutely uses his degree with these videos. I love when he brings actual psychology to these stories. It elevates the show in a way I enjoy.
The 'Fake/ChatGPT Conversation' was very necessary and well done! Because *YES* - we always have to consider those stories as something that maybe did happen to someone somewhere or theoretically could, but the actual Reddit Story by the OP did not. It is just entertainment and discussing _"What if..."_ scenarios with your friends, but they should not make you genuinely upset. The TH-camr 'Li Speaks' has a video called *"A Comprehensive Categorization of Reddit Ragebait"* and after watching that video I can NOT look at those stories the same way as before, you just see those reoccuring themes and tropes. It is still a fun time, but if you know, you know - for your own sake. TL;DR See it as fun town gossip or a 'what if" type of game you would play with friends, for your own sake do not take it at face value and make yourself upset for someone else's entertainment.
Yesss loved that video! I have no respect for those that use AI to generate these stories but people just doing a little creative writing exercise is fun.
I also would like to argue that some of the points made (especially the cat) aren't really condemning of it being fake. I mean they said the cat wasn't mentioned before. So it might be fake but if it was brought up before shayne would say "why's you being up the cat, it has no purpose in the story" so to me if mentioning an before unmentioned cat and its judgemental stares is evidence that leans towards it being chatgpt created then it's kind of a schrodinger cat situation. If that's proof then the by the same logic the extrainious details mentioned in the main stories should be too but one could also argue were human so not every detail will be necessary. We do tend to drift and ramble and add in extra details. So by that it SHOULDNT be considered evidence too.
@@tycol322 it's not just the singular detail of the cat mention but the collection of phrases, details, and reddit-speak that gives off the impression of an ai-generated story. of course one isolated thing isn't damning evidence, and even with all of that we can't know for sure
Omg I love Li Speaks!! But yeah, after that video, I just stopped listening to reddit stories that straight up upset me. It's not worth the energy for something that might miff me- I'd rather read Angstfics for that!
Smosh has gotten me through so much. It’s always on in the background and I fall asleep to videos too! You guys are so amazing and I love all of the content yall put out on here. Thank you for being that outlet for me 🫶🏻
Proud to say I’m in the same boat as the last story- we love you Shane, you and so many others showed me my interest in Psych, glad to be pursuing a School Counseling degree. Proud of you Chief🫡🫡🫡

1:02:34 aw it’s so freakin sweet to hear about someone being inspired by someone else educational journey 😭😭 also I love Angela for still roasting Shayne after saying she never talked shit 😂
I hope we get an episode of Amanda and Angela, were they go “Wakey Wakey Eggs and Backy, Take out your Pancakes… it’s Saturday”, combine there breakfast lines lol
Amanda and Angela needs a show or podcast named “Wakey wakey eggs and backy, take out your pancakes….its (Saturday or whatever day ep comes out) “ and they chat about true crimes, tv shows and whatever they want! It will be GOLD
I actually have a cat named felony i rescued her from a bad situation and she came with the name. They said they named her that because they were committing a felony when they found her behind a dumpster. She's a tuxedo and the sweetest thing when it comes to ppl but a menace, and a bully, when it comes to other cats.
ahh i saw the final story about the person who started their career because of shayne on reddit and im so glad they’re reading it!! its such a sweet story
1:04:20 "the syrup in his pancakes . . . I'm a f**king wreck at this" 😅 Court "we gotta show her the grad video" YES!! and maybe make it a reaction video 🥹
Genuinely sobbing about the last story. I've only been watching Smosh for about a month or something, and I'm pretty sure it's just a hyperfixation that'll fade in the next couple of months- but I have already cried over so many of their videos bc man, these people are just so genuine and it means such a lot to so many people out there. I'm part of a smaller comedy fandom, Shoot From The Hip, and have been for about a whole year now- and they have genuinely inspired me to do so much, and helped me overcome a lot of my social anxiety without even knowing it. So I know how much silly little special interests, or even just youtube channels you watch a few videos of every now and then, can change people's lives. Y'all matter so, so, so much, and please never stop being you- you're flawless at it.
The cooking story is always wild to me. My partner went to culinary school, worked as a fine dining chef for YEARS, has a couple of local awards, and nowadays just doesn’t enjoy it as much as he used to. I came into our relationship knowing the bare minimum of cooking. Now, thanks to his guidance, I love cooking and cook for us all the time. I can’t make recipes up on the fly like he can, but I get so much joy in what he taught me. And he loves to eat what I make and vice versa. You can learn, and I promise that it can be fun and therapeutic. It’s also a basic life skill that everyone should have, regardless of gender.
My problem is that I get so overwhelmed cooking. I need to modify recipes for easier reading and I can't do recipes that require a lot of simultaneous cooking. So in my eyes this would actually be "bad" at cooking, because I can barely handle it. I've found things to help me do it because I have to, but it's the worst part of my day by far lol
@@yeahokaycoolcool But it sounds like, if you had a partner, you'd maybe ask if you could add an ingredient, or boil the pasta to your liking. Jump in in some little way instead of just insulting them. At the very least, I doubt someone with so much cooking anxiety would be rude with any critiques, and would be appreciative you don't have to do it
I've heard the power point story in another video before and there was another update about his coworkers finding the story, figuring out it was him, and sort of bullying him for it at work.
I struggled with selective mutism so I wouldn't talk at school. Lady week, we had a school reunion and I went (I graduated 8 years ago). We were all 25-26. This girl that used to make fun of me for not talking approaches me while I'm talkng to someone else and mockingly goes "so, you are not awkward or shy anymore?" Sorry bullies don't grow up :(
Man… that’s so rough. I’m sorry that happened to you :( How did you get past your mutism? Did it naturally fade with therapy or age? Or is it something else?
with the ancestry story, there’s a phenomenon of some sort where people donate HUNDREDS of sperm and have upwards to 1000 kids because of a white supremacy related mindset. it’s unfortunately not impossible for incest to occur when somebody does this. it’s awful. this is why you HAVE to disclose to the kids AND the parents who you are on the off chance that they meet so something *like that story* doesn’t happen.
When my dad was in the fertility clinic doing his part to make me (an IVF baby) the staff gave him a container with SOMEONE ELSE'S name on it and he had to bring it to their attention. If he hadn't noticed and corrected the mistake, my mom would have been implanted with someone else's sperm and I wouldn't be my dad's bio kid. Luckily he did notice and I look so similar to my dad we never had to worry, but still. There are so many issues within the sperm donor system so mistakes happen, intentional switching of sperm happens (often being replaced with sperm from the doctors themselves), and there isn't enough regulation on how many babies can be made from each particular donor, so stuff like this DEFINITELY happens more than they seem to think. There are changes to be made to this system FOR SURE, bc this stuff DOES happen, especially in smaller areas
@@WookieWomanNew South Wales is in Australia, but even then there's the same issue. I saw a documentary about this issue. People don't generally travel a long way to a fertility clinic, and men most often donate nearby also. So you will inevitably end up with a large number of half-siblings living in close proximity.
Omg, the last story made me tear up a little. Shayne, that’s so awesome that you inadvertently rescued OP. Beautiful, I hope one day OP sees this and sees Shane and Courtney’s reactions. Beautiful. Happy new year to all at wonderful Smosh.
With the first one about cooking, my bf doesn’t like red pepper in this one pasta dish we make but I really love it and it has to be added into the hot oil so it’s not like I can just add it at the end, so now what we do is separate the ingredients in half, get out 2 pans, and simultaneously cook our portions. Same thing if we’re making meat because he eats chicken and I’m a pescatarian, so we just cook side by side so I can help as much as I need to and whatever we can share I usually will cook, but I’m not regularly cooking something I’m not eating. He’s a quick learner tho so the only repeating problem is the temperature of the pan, which is something you figure out over time, nbd.
Not me crying during the last story 😭 Watching/ Hearing Shayne read about someone who was inspired by him and it changed their life like that. It's so cool. Epic end of 2024 for Reddit Stories
Omg I’m crying over the second story. I’m so happy that girl got revenge on her bully. As someone who was severely bullied in middle school I WISH I had the chance to do something like that. I hope she has a happy and fulfilling life.
1:31 I’m so glad to hear Angela mention the story about the guy on the date accidentally peeing himself, its the most wholesome story they’ve read on the show, where it really restores your faith in the kindness of people, such a heartwarming tale of true empathy. I rewatch it quite a lot to just feel an inkling of that wholesomeness, even if it begins as awful, it ends in the best way that seems almost too good to be true (EDIT: the story is from an episode called ‘Feel Good Stories for Once’)
I can assure you, there is such a thing as too much garlic. When I was twenty, I made an Italian style meatloaf (which of course, the Italians likely consider an oxymoron). I thought a clove was the bulb. You can guess where those four cloves of garlic got me. On the upside, I’ve been safe from vampires for nearly twenty years.
The odds of donor conceived people meeting half siblings is very high. If a man donates to a clinic, and 50 children are conceived from the donation at that clinic, you get 50 children that are geographically and chronologically close. It happens frequently and they probably don't even know.
I think there have been multiple instances where relatives end up in relationships because they are drawn to the familiarity, it’s actually more likely that they would date each other than a rando
@@chloed2382 Yeah, there was a documentary about a guy in Europe who has donated all across the world. In his home country, after everyone found out, they had a get-together for all the children and a surprising number of them went home and told their parents they liked another kid 😭
At least in the US it illegal to have more than 4 donations. I know the UK has a lot of donations from Denmark and Norway (with the EU allowing far more leeway). I don’t know sperm donation laws in Australia but I’d imagine that the dad broke the law somehow. Especially if he has 40 children in a town/city.
@@KaiLucasZachary Just the chances of it all! The fact that they *both* had the same donor, and then the husbands dad WAS the donor too, not a 'donor baby' like the wife, is what i mean!
Honestly seeing Angela start tearing up and saying “it’s like the last day of school” hit home. I graduated with my Doctorate last Saturday and that was all of us. Shayne, just talking about what you’re passion about makes a bigger impact than you’ll know. I had people making me cry because I didn’t even realize how much of an impact one little person can make on people’s lives. You guys are amazing!
i need an immediate reaction of Angela watching the graduation video because i KNOW she will be on the same emotion rollercoaster we all were on in 2019🥹🥹
Last story put me in tears. Thanks Smosh for another banger year, I hope that story added some perspective on how much you guys really impact people. A Smosh upload is part of my daily routine and has helped me get through a lot of tough times.
Im suicidal and smosh pit reddit stories is the highlight of my week i wait for it every Saturday night because when they upload it it’s night in here it’s one of the few things in life that are able to get me excited still . Im so glad i have stumbled upon this channel . Happy new year guys ❤
The last story made me cry. Smosh has been so vital to my everyday life. Smosh keeps me company through so much. I’m glad they know how important they are to their fans.
Thank you guys, for doing what you do. Its been a really tough year, my mom got really sick and she ended up dying a couple weeks ago. Being able to laugh with you guys, and especially being able to look forward to Saturdays has helped make my year more bearable. Thank you thank you thank you!!
My thing about when people say reddit stories are fake, is that regardless of this EXACT reddit story, there’s so many people in this world that that scenario HAS TO HAVE happened to somebody. Or at least that’s what I choose to believe in my little land of delulu
That's exactly how I see it too! Whenever I mention a reddit story I've heard, some people roll their eyes and say it must be fake, but this is always my response. It happened to someone and it's interesting to think about anyway!
As a donor child, that story is my worst fear. My half-brother and I literally met on accident through our moms when we were little. Now, thank god, we know more about the donor and our other half-siblings. But even if the odds are low that I unknowingly run into another half-sibling, it's still crazy to think about.
The story that has stuck with me the most is the one with the roommate with radioactive clock parts that probably gave OP cancer, not to mention himself. That was terrifying.
Wales and other Northern European countries actually have this issue with sperm donors more than you’d think. They don’t limit or track the amount of sperm that someone can donate and put out into the world like the US does which leads to many people in certain communities being half siblings without ever knowing.
At my old job, a girl that bullied me so intensely in middle school and drove me to my first attempt on my life started working at my job, and I had a panic attack just seeing her and let me tell you, the older women around me that made it clear they wouldn't even let her near me. No one even liked her because she did nothing but complain and call our manager a bitch (she was one but she wasn't being one in this instance) for telling her to pick up the pace because its Christmas and she's going waaaaay too slow. My coworkers kept to their word and would not let her near me. No one treated her anything but kindly, people can change but they could see it was clear I had serious trauma with her and I couldn't go to HR for a whole different host of reasons, so they kept me safe and I feel so glad for them to this day. 💕💕
I feel so bad for the girl in the second story. I had a similar rumour going around about me when I was about 18 or 19. It was awful. Even after HR got involved, and the girl who started the rumour was fired, the rumour followed me around for months until I left. I really feel for her
Angela's whole thing about people writing off cooking but not other tasks was so real and insightful, I loved that. The only Critiques To Your Cooking powerpoint I would be okay with from a partner would be like. Your Pasta Is Too Good, I Ate Too Much And My Tummy Hurt. I would love to receive or make something like that, an ACTUALLY funny joke where the humour comes from playing on expectations, and it lifts the other person up at the same time.
The story of the girl being bullied by the twins made me instantly sad when she tried to find a reason for why she got bullied. The “I was different/weird as a kid” is so stupid because people bully for no reason, and her feeling like who she was as a child was the reason is so disheartening:(
So many parents will ruin their child’s life and feel no remorse about it, it’s disgusting. They see their kids as tools, props, etc. and not as real people.
Yup. Example: my own mother. Just had zero qualms with lying about me, getting physical, while I tried to play nice and just ignore her and build my life, and that just made things worse.
I’m really glad that with what Shayne’s said he finds it hard to understand what that’s like but man it’s so common, incredibly common, people always assume that giving birth to a human, raising them, makes you care about them and put their needs before yours. Unfortunately not true, some parents rlly do not care, act like children their whole lives only to burden their children with their unprocessed insecurities. And a lot of parents know that you won’t leave, you won’t abandon them, becuz you can’t, and so they can treat you like shit and get away with it, they’ll get a hundred second chances and no consequences for their actions. Its a miserable thing that ppl still excuse domestic abuse by the argument that ‘well its your family, you cant just cut them out’. Even therapists or just decent ppl find it ridiculous that you would ever cut a parent out of your life unless they’re actively attempting to murder you. The things we excuse when a parent does it, are considered crimes in any other scenario.
I felt the same thing Angela did switching schools. I left a school I had gone to since 6th grade after 11th grade to go to a new school for my last year of high school because that old school was just awful, and there was such a relief when I finally found out I 100% was going to a new school. I had no bullies, I got to be openly queer, I made friends of diverse backgrounds who all celebrated who they were and accepted me. It was beautiful and such a relief ❤

So now, when they're done cooking the pancakes, the yell across the house to me "Come get your pancakes out!"😂
What an amazing way to spend time with family. I love that for you.

as a sperm donor baby, that story is the reason my mom opted to connect with other parents that used the same donor. my brother happened to live just down the street from us and we got to grow up together. thank god all of my siblings knew of each other so we could form appropriate relationships. that story has my heart breaking for them all :(
I'm a sperm donor baby too, and yeah, there's a reason that some donor conceived folks where I live are advocating for legislation that restricts the number of families a sperm donor can work with.
@@strawberrykatnz I hope that my genetic family won't be too big... Currently in the 10s of human beings conceived from donor.

"To quote my favourite film - anyone can cook" - I love Angela
And yet she’s already made it very clear her favorite film is actually The Grinch with Jim Carey.
I generally think about the last line of Anton Ego's review all the time
"Not everyone can be a great artist, but great art can come from anywhere"

For real. I'm pregnant and my emotions were such a rollercoaster this episode 😭😆
"Cooking is a chore, not a skill". That's actually quite insightful, and definitely not something a lot of people think about
I have noticed that in stereotypical couples where the men cook as well as the woman, that she is still expected to do the everyday grunt and the dad does the fun-creative meals. Not always the case ofc, but it kind of shows that distinction of the "day-to-day" chore of cooking and the creative skill cooking, which can be different things.

1:06:56 Shane absolutely uses his degree with these videos. I love when he brings actual psychology to these stories. It elevates the show in a way I enjoy.
Why did I read that last sentence in Shane’s voice in my head 😂
I'm glad they acknowledged this story is seen as fake. I had read this previously and was worried they would not have seen those responses

I’m watching this episode while making homemade wontons for the first time coz i can
My problem is that I get so overwhelmed cooking.
At the very least, I doubt someone with so much cooking anxiety would be rude with any critiques, and would be appreciative you don't have to do it
@@ari8417 hell yeah! I love wontons. I’m still working on being able make them myself. I hope your first attempt came out amazing!

I've heard the power point story in another video before and there was another update about his coworkers finding the story, figuring out it was him, and sort of bullying him for it at work.
If true, i love that so much.
yessss i was waiting for that one, that was truly a fitting end
I struggled with selective mutism so I wouldn't talk at school. Lady week, we had a school reunion and I went (I graduated 8 years ago). We were all 25-26. This girl that used to make fun of me for not talking approaches me while I'm talkng to someone else and mockingly goes "so, you are not awkward or shy anymore?"
Sorry bullies don't grow up :(
“Guess I just found some actually interesting people to talk to, now.”
Should've smiled and reached for a handshake with unbroken eye contact
Same here 🙋🏻♀️ I've not had a class reunion (yet) but when I do I want everyone to see that I gained confidence 💪🏻
Man… that’s so rough. I’m sorry that happened to you :(
How did you get past your mutism? Did it naturally fade with therapy or age? Or is it something else?
@@StarPlatinum3000 that's such a good comeback
This Courtney fit is going to be added to my outfit inspo board, the jewelry, just the everything, love it.
with the ancestry story, there’s a phenomenon of some sort where people donate HUNDREDS of sperm and have upwards to 1000 kids because of a white supremacy related mindset. it’s unfortunately not impossible for incest to occur when somebody does this. it’s awful. this is why you HAVE to disclose to the kids AND the parents who you are on the off chance that they meet so something *like that story* doesn’t happen.
Not to mention, the UK is a lot smaller, geographically, than the United States. The odds would be greater.
@@WookieWomanNew South Wales is in Australia, but even then there's the same issue. I saw a documentary about this issue. People don't generally travel a long way to a fertility clinic, and men most often donate nearby also. So you will inevitably end up with a large number of half-siblings living in close proximity.
and also, sperm banks oftentimes lie to donors and donor recipient parents about how many children are conceived from a single donor
@@WookieWomanPoint still stands, but this happened in Australia.
Omg, the last story made me tear up a little. Shayne, that’s so awesome that you inadvertently rescued OP. Beautiful, I hope one day OP sees this and sees Shane and Courtney’s reactions. Beautiful. Happy new year to all at wonderful Smosh.
Shaynes "SHUT UP" was so on point 👌🔊🔊‼️
This is so cute
That's awesome!
Not me crying during the last story 😭 Watching/ Hearing Shayne read about someone who was inspired by him and it changed their life like that. It's so cool. Epic end of 2024 for Reddit Stories
COURTNEY'S OUTFIT SLAYED THE HOUSE DOWN
Her boots look incredible
it’s giving bisexual that just got turned into a vampire
Omg I’m crying over the second story. I’m so happy that girl got revenge on her bully. As someone who was severely bullied in middle school I WISH I had the chance to do something like that. I hope she has a happy and fulfilling life.
Ngl I almost skipped the second story
"I WISH I had a chance to be a spiteful, vengeful person" honestly, you're probably better off not having the opportunity 🤔
1:31 I’m so glad to hear Angela mention the story about the guy on the date accidentally peeing himself, its the most wholesome story they’ve read on the show, where it really restores your faith in the kindness of people, such a heartwarming tale of true empathy. I rewatch it quite a lot to just feel an inkling of that wholesomeness, even if it begins as awful, it ends in the best way that seems almost too good to be true
(EDIT: the story is from an episode called ‘Feel Good Stories for Once’)
what episode was that?
I don’t recall that one. Do you know which episode it was?
replying so i get notified if someone finds the video 😭😭
@@mwahnobarssss found it! It’s from 11 months ago and is called “feel good Reddit stories for once”!
@@mwahnobarssss Its the episode called ‘Feel Good Stories for Once’
They should set up a system where donations made in one locale have to be shipped to another for use
The donor one is WILD for just the fact that the dad is in the picture and not just an 'unknown' donor entity
Why? A lot of men think it's quick money when they're young and then go onto to have their own families.
I REALLY want to see Angela reacting to Shayne's graduation video. There were a lot of tears in that video, Angela's gonna be a wreck!
Let’s not forget that the craziest story of 2024 was that we learned the truth about Smosh’s 2nd Couple.

I'm very sorry to hear that. I wish you all the best for the new year and sending you lots of hugs 🤗❤
That last story had me so sentimental, Smosh impacts our life day to day and I’m so glad they get to read stories like that where we talk about it :’)
I woke up too early and had to keep refreshing until this came up
Bro, are you good? I would have been devastated lmao. I would have went back to bed. Hopefully you didn't have to wait too long...
@ HAHAHAHA I usually wake up right when it comes out but I was a few mins early 😂
I'm so glad you had these people around you!
