on the last story, i'm obsessed with the idea of him taking the leg to play the hero and then getting so attached to it that he refuses to go anywhere without it
Thats the part im so confused about. Literally why did he insist on taking it everywhere??? And why did he not wanna compromise with NOT TAKING IT OUT OF HIS LUGGAGE???? He absolutely needed that leg on him at all times😭
@@StonerOfGothamwhy do I feel that you are 100% correct. She should have it professionally cleaned and never try and find out if he was being a real creep. Better not to know. IMO
@ Sadly no…I thought I remembered one with more detail but just went back to check and OP’s posts and comments are all what was covered here. I must’ve been remembering someone’s speculation after reading the story and thought it was fact. The story’s from this time last year and did the rounds on a lot of Reddit channels then.
The kids in the flight story are fully aware of what was going on, and most importantly saw their mom stand up for them and refuse them being treated as anything less than equal to her and everyone else and I think that's really important.
I'd almost say the husband was doing it to send that message _to_ the children. All of them, including his own. 'Those ones are not part of our family.'
hearing this story really makes me appreciate my dad. Hes not my biological father but since day 1 he has always treated us like his own, even standing up to his family when they treated us differently than my cousins. He was 21 (my mom was 24) when my two sisters and i entered his life but he took on the roll so wholeheartedly that we kinda didnt care about our bio fathers abandonment. My dad adopted my sisters and i when i was 13. Im so glad the woman in the post put her kids first and got them out of that situation, cuz ive seen it with friends of mine where their moms choose the boyfriend over them and the damage that can do.
Honestly I’m very proud of her that she made that choice. I believe he was essentially trying to trap her into his plan. He didn’t tell her because he knew that she would be upset and so instead he let her find out once she was already at the airport, packed and ready to go tickets already bought and everything. I’m sure he thought that she would feel too much pressure at this point to go along with what had already been planned. I’m so happy that she realized in that moment that her kids and her deserved better and that she didn’t actually need to go along with his plans
They NEED to do the update to the sister's experimental thanksgiving menu. It's INSANE. Spoiler: the glitter she used was not edible glitter. It was just regular craft glitter
They so need to read the final update. It is off the hook crazy. If they never do, suffice it to say that Trevor was WAY off. The food was beyond a disaster. And drama, drama, drama.
Arasha had 2 killer jokes that got totally glossed over in the conversation! 😂 “That New Years was fire,” And “He has no leg to stand on.” Great work there, love it!
I'm 22 and I use the internet, but there's a lot of slang that I can't keep up with either. when english speakers started saying rizz, I was like "what what does this mean?" there are Gen Z slangs in my native language that I don't understand very well either 😅
@@KingOfGaymes in brazilian portuguese there is specific slang like "ó lá ele" which I think is the equivalent of calling someone sus/zesty, but it is not a direct translation. but some slangs/memes are a direct translation from english like the new "he's just a chill guy" / "ele é um cara tranquilo". I don't really understand this last one, I just know that it exists and I see people repeating.
There's this meme of a cartoon dog smiling chilling while wearing a sweater and a pair of jeans with the caption "I'm just a chill guy" so everyone started to copy that phrase as a reference to that dog if not fully reposting the drawing @@witcherye
fun fact with the first story: there’s another reddit episode, where a woman’s boyfriend tried to give her and her mom’s hamilton tickets to HIS family without her knowing it, and Shayne mentioned THIS story as another example of that kind of bullshit thievery. full circle moment.
Trevor being self conscious of cooking is so real but it’s also lowkey funny coming from the guy who got THE Gordon Ramsay’s stamp of approval for his Beef Wellington
@@sassberrysnap Yup! It was on “Gordon Ramsay eats his Last Meal” on the Mythical Kitchen channel, he gives major props to Trevor on it 🫶 I recommend the video heavily it’s awesome
UPDATE on Thankgiving story! Sister showed up to the dinner earlier than expected, had 3 dishes plus a big platter wrapped in foil. Started rearranging the table, moving OPs food to the side, brought her own table runners and candles "to set the mood for a creative experience". She started with a glittery sweet potato mash. the glitter was not edible but craft glitter. Then oysters and cranberry relish followed by a pumpkin curry casserole with raisins in it and a weird fish smell. The foil wrapped thing turned out to be a ground turkey gelatin mold garnished with parsley and cherry tomatoes. OPs mom tried a bit of the turkey gelatin and froze, with regret on her face. Sister noticed no one was enthusiastic and went on a speech about how Thanksgiving food was boring and she was trying to challenge their palates. OPs aunt tried the turkey gelatin and gagged, so sister went off about how everyone was stuck in the past, accused OP of sabotaging her dishes by not hyping them up and apparently everyone at the table was struggling not to laugh. Sister stormed out of the house saying everyone will regret not appreciating her vision when she's famous, leaving the "food" behind; OP and a cousin threw it out. The rest of dinner went by pretty nicely, her dad had brought an emergency ham that was much appreciated and everyone agreed to either skip Thanksgiving next year or go to a restaurant instead. She promised photos but so far none have been posted.
I did some research on the Thanksgiving story, it turns out that it was AI-generated. There will never be photos (check in the comments of her final post if you do not believe me).
In that first story, his mother wasn't mad over the present, she was mad about the lie. She knew her son lied about the situation and is probably used to his lies. She thought he had actually got her something thoughtful but it was just another lie.
Yes, I was a little bugged when Arasha made some pretty good jokes and the guys acted like she didn't say anything. I felt it was part of the "MAN" culture of just not paying attention when a woman speaks.
I always love when Arasha is on the Reddit videos. Her emotional intelligence, empathy and willingness to see the whole picture is always so refreshing and validating. Especially when you've gone through something similar.
Yeah! I feel like a lot of the cast (especially Arasha and Angela imo) bring such emotional intelligence. Honestly, it’s something I strive to be like. (I’m growing and continuing to grow. I know I’m empathetic, but the way some of the cast end up making me think about stuff in a new perspective is refreshing :)
We moved 2hrs away to not have my mom show up unannounced. She still snooped during visits. That is until our daughter's first birthday. I went to the restroom while my husband was in the kitchen and my mom decided to snoop the master bedroom's closet while we were both busy. My husband noticed her sneak off and followed. Before he could confront her, an adult toy fell from a shelf she was trying to reach. It fell at her feet, and my husband, from behind her, decided to go "oh yeah, that's mine. You're daughter uses it on me ALL the time." My mom just about jumped outta her skin. The bedroom closet was attached to the bathroom, so I got to hear the whole exchange (I had thought the digging around in the closet was my husband til that point). She quickly scurried out to the living room and never snooped again. 😂
Similar to how I got my own mom to stop snooping/opening my mail (as an adult living with her) I ordered a giant tentacle toy and as typical, didn't bother notifying me as she tore open the package. I watched from the 2nd story balcony as she pulled it out in horror, and quickly placed it back in, never opened my stuff again. A+ tactic would recommend
The flight story realy hit close to home. As a step child, that has been told stuff or seen actions similar to the story, we know and we can tell. It realy destroys relationships in the future too. Once got told " this is not your home, its mine and you just live here." While their kid could say it was their home. Fun.
Yupppp, my siblings and I were the “other kids” to my dads family for 10 years and still 10 years after their divorce he wonders why we don’t fully trust him 😅
Mine said nearly the same exact thing. I asked him to get out of my room, and he YELLED in my face, "This isn't your room. It's mine. You're just living in it." Literally tried to deny it when I told my mother too. Good times.
4:15 girl RUN! how he treats his mom is a direct look into the future of how he’ll treat you if you get married. expect kitchenware, bathroom scales, and other useful but impersonal gifts. he is young so maybe he’ll improve with time but as shayne always says, no need to waste your 20s on people who show their true, ugly colors.
That's a great point; if he treats his mom poorly, he'll probably treat you poorly. But also beware: if he treats his mom nicely, that does not mean you'll get the same courtesy!
@@lifewuzonceezr oh for sure! he’s at that weird age where your relationship with your parents is shifting and it doesn’t seem like he’s mature enough for it. since it’s been 10 years we can only hope their dynamic has improved since!
@@THEDubbleHelixx This is true. It's the same thing with stuff like people being nice to service workers etc. Someone being nice to their mom or waiter doesn't necessarily mean they are a nice person (might just be putting it on), but someone being rude to either of those (unless very specific reasons) are usually a very reliable red flag for upcoming bad behavior.
The airplane story really made me realize that the time my foster parents went on a vacation with their “own” children (i lived there since birth) was really not oke. I cried the entire day. Like i was 10 yrs old and my foster mom said to me that I shouldn’t make a big deal out of her “needing time away from me” she and the family still believes that doing stuff without her foster child was normal behavior even tho i had their last name and they “considered” me as a family member (on facebook only ofc) . Thankyou smosh for making me feel like a human everytime you guys read these kinds of stories ❤️ i feel so understood
"No matter how open, loving, and patient you attempt to be, you can only meet others as deeply as they've met themselves; this is the heart of clarity." It's my favourite quote and one that's helped me many times for over a decade. It feels appropriate for this episode lol.
love that! i remember reading about how your "healed self" and "healed ways" will only work and be compatible with other healed people and it didnt make much sense to me but your quote gave me added perspective and i understand it much more
i was watching this in the background and let me tell you watching only the prosthetic leg story and as soon as it's nearly over it pans out to Trevor in the leg brace thing was possibly the funniest thing i have seen all day. idk why but it completely took me out
15:13 SHANE THIS IS SOME OF THE BEST ADVICE I'VE EVER HEARD! Now i think before i speak sometimes and have to tell myself "I KNOW the only thing this thing i was going to say would accomplish is making them feel bad, so I HAVE to rise above that feeling because I don't actually want them to feel bad"
Reminds me of that one Tumblr post where someone was trying to make a point about sexism by comparing witches to Jesus but forgot that people *also* executed Jesus.
14:17 what he doesn’t even see is that his mom was upset not because she loved the vase (though clearly she did) but because of what he did. She saw it unfold and she was heartbroken.
First story. It’s a red flag 🚩 that the boyfriend only has given kitchen supplies to his mom as presents. Unless you know for sure the mom LOVES to cook.
For the thanksgiving avant garde cooking story there were absolutely updates and the glitter that was in the sweet potatos turned out not to be food grade, OP was never the asshole and the sister is insane.
@@IsaacMayerCreativeWorks that and the fact she said she'd post photos and never did and has no more posts or comments anywhere after comments on the Final Update post.

The first story reminded me of the guy "giving" his gf's Hamilton tickets to his sister story. Reddit men and giving away other people's gifts. Name a more iconic duo LOL
If I had a nickle for everytime a boyfriend in a reddit story read on this channel did thay, I’d have 2 nickles. Which isn't a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice
i firmly believe that if you go into a serious relationship with someone that has kids (especially when you're already talking about marriage) you have to put in the effort to show the partner's kids that you atleast like and respect them. you don't have to be a father figure if they don't want you to be, since they already have one, but atleast put the effort in to build trust. i wonder how the 2 kids actually feel about the husband. i also can't imagine marrying a partner that clearly doesn't respect your (underage!!) kids enough to let them fly alone in economy class while you let your own kids fly in 1st class, with their own parent aswell!! also 10 and 14 is way too young to let them fly alone in economy class. i honestly have no idea how he thought that was a good idea in the first place. and i also think OP is the asshole a bit for marrying that man; he HAS to have shown red flags before edit: spelling mistakes, i'm sick and it's almost 11pm over here so sorry
I started flying as an unaccompanied minor around 7 or 8 years old. The flight attendants check on unaccompanied children. But still, splitting up the kids in the story would have been messed up.
@ The staff would have been made aware of you being unaccompanied. But if they board as a family they would assume that they were sitting with a parent and wouldn’t pay that special attention
The woman who's husband put only her kids in economy.... big kudos to that mom. If she would've let that slide it wouldve sent a message to her kids that they come second to their mom's partner and his kids. For his family to try to justify this and say she's raising her children to be entitled?! No, she's raising her children to feel secure in knowing their mom has their back and that they come first. As a single mom, I was literally seething over this story.
As someone else whom hhas been on fire, 3rd required surgery. They can really show you who great people are in your life. I married the man that while i was rolling around slammed into me and put out the rest of the flame. He carried me out of the woods and rushed me to the hospital. We were so far out there an ambulance wouldn't have made it to where we were located. We have 2 beautiful kids 14 year of life together. And some trally bitchen scars that look like im where fishnet shorts all the time.
Wait, so was that the 3rd time you were on fire or you had 3rd degree burns that required surgery? Because if you’ve been on fire 3 times that crazy! Glad you recovered well.
Only time thank goddess. Ment 3rd degre burns. I've had minor kitchen burns before nothing to that level. 30% of my body so at the time both of my thights full circumference. Let me tell you nothing like having a tent over your body because you can't touch anything with out pain. Hubby was a rock through it all. Have lifelong friends that saw me through it and got rid of alot of toxic people after years of therapy with it.
Thinking of artificial body parts, PSA that if you or a loved one have any medical implants (like a pacemaker) at death that you can donate them to veterinary specialists to save animals! While they can’t be donated to another human, some puppy somewhere would be DELIGHTED to have your pacemaker after you’re dead!!!!
That sounds like the sweetest thing ever! I know for a fact if I ever need to have something like that I would want it to go to someone or an animal in need to help them when I’m dead! Thanks for sharing this information!!
UPDATE ON THE THANKSGIVING STORY: People are accusing OP of faking this story because apparently giving ChatGPT the prompt: "give me a reddit post as an update to a thanksgiving saga of OP who has a sister who always brings weirdly concocted dishes and promised a "trio experience" with glitter involved", hand delivers the same story as posted on reddit. People have also come to this conclusion because OP is not posting pictures
Doesn’t AI take existing data from the internet and generate based on that data? So if OP posted the update before people plugged the prompt into ChatGPT, it’s probably getting that info from OP’s post, right? I’m just a little skeptical.
@@Soaring_lizzard It doesn't reference the live internet, it references an archived version, so it's impossible for it to be referencing this post. It also has ChatGPT's exact syntax, and inconsistencies that are only explained by it being AI.
i love how at 1:01:26 you can see trevor as he actively realises (before shayne says it) that the brother does not NEED the prosthetic leg and then loses it over the idea
15:33 this is completely right and such important advice. It’s so important to remember when you and you’re partner are having a problem, it’s not you two against each other, it’s you two against the problem. It’s important to remember that even if we’re upset or hurt we still communicate with consideration and love for the other person.
I caught myself on fire when I was 16, almost exactly 8.5 years ago, to this day it is one of my defining characteristics, anytime fire or catching on fire comes up my friends and family give me the silliest smirk. I can’t wait for my smosh friends to tell me to check out this episode.
as someone who accidentally burnt my room down and woke up with my bed on fire, I feel a strange sort of camaraderie with you and other fire hazards like us💀
I love that fake key story. I don't think there would be an emergency where you would need a key. The fact that she just kept walking in unannounced would piss me off
My close family has keys to each other's houses for emergencies, like when my brother lost his own keys once, my parents gave him their copy so he could enter his own house. In general, it makes us feel safer. But yeah, we only use emergency keys for actual emergencies or when instructed to do so (like when my SIL asks us to go over there and to use our copy cause she's too busy to open the door for us). But yeah, it requires trust which OP's MIL does not deserve
I have a friend who has an emergency key because I have a cat. So like, what if I get in a car accident? Somebody has to be able to get in to take care of him if I have to go to the hospital or something.
No there are absolutely a ton of real emergencies where people closest to you should have backup keys. You always think it won’t happen to you until it does.
I love Arasha on this show. I live vicariously through her responses in all the episodes, I feel like she speaks for a wide representation of people in the meticulous way she speaks :) she’s also really funny, the “do you guys have a group chat without me?” and “that would just be the message thread between the two of you” without missing a beat was hilarious
Rasha’s leg puns at the end did not go unnoticed lol. She is easily becoming one of my most favorite guests, and I have a LOT of faves lol. Everyone is freaking hilarious ❤️ This is always the highlight of my weekend!
The one story really gave me Scooby-Doo vibes. The mom breaking into the apartment. “I would have gotten away with it, if it wasn’t for those meddling kids and that dog.” Just the way she worded it about the daughter giving her the fake key. 🤣 Also wanted to add, "Bring me that guys leg!" Rocket Raccoon on that last story. 🤣
It doesn't make any sense though, by definition, whenever you argue with someone you love you are arguing how you would with someone you love. It's not telling people to do anything different, and can't be.
@@TimPortantno I don’t think you understand, it means using different language and tone rather then a screaming fight, a calm conversation. Instead of accusatory language you say I feel statements. I’m sorry you’ve yet to experience that kind of mutual respect in conflicts but that’s what it means.
@skylargg8474 I don't think you understood, because it doesn't mean any of that, you're inferring that because that is how you already argue with people you love, which is to still say it's not advice that can be followed, because there was no actual advice given.
@@TimPortantno when you were a kid, did you ever disagree with your mom on smt? And when you did that, do you want her to scream insults at you or gently explain to you her point of view? That first story has me RILED. I have an excess of time atm so Ive been making personalized gifts for my 4 family members. This craft requires repetitive motion and a less-than ergonomic position. All of my joints have been going through it. My partner has seen me tirelessly working on this or at least knows that's what Im doing. I cant fathom a world where my partner is like "your gift to your family....hm...but what if.... my..MY gift to MY family yesyesyes" Like dude come on. The prosthetic leg story is insane! I work in prosthetics and those things really are crazy expensive and custom made for the amputee!!! Omg I’m listening to the update now, omg this odd insane!! He stole the leg? Holy shit…
I was thinking the same thing. My wrestling coach was an above knee amputee and I learned them things are stupid expensive. I actually paused the video when he read that there was a steel knee and literally said “holy shit, that’s like the price of a car” pressed play and heard the professional say the exact same thing lmao.
Right? I lost the tip of my finger in an accident and the prosthetic I had made for that which was purely aesthetic cost $7,000 in 2003. I can’t imagine how crazy expensive that leg was!
I love whenever Arasha comes onto these episodes, it feels like a big sister offering advice on what a healthy relationship should be like and I’m writing down everything.
Why did I not realize Trevor had a boot??? Like I was watching this while wrapping a gift and I guess every time I looked it wasn’t panned out cause them mentioning it at the end of the video caught me so off guard
I think it's so funny that the intrusive mother has zero poker face when receiving the fake key, and OP can clearly see the mischievous glimmer in her eyes and smile. Like how are you 50-60 years old and have the poker face of a toddler 😂
Fire story really brings up how unseriously people take burns. People hear second-degree burns and think it’s not very bad. And then when people try to say how seriously someone is injured when experiencing third and 4th degree burns people just don’t believe it. Your skin literally melts.
I could have sworn that 3rd degree was the worst burn, but I'm definitely seeing information about 4th degree burns online (and up to 6??), although some articles still say "third degree is the worst". I wonder if the classification has just changed.
@@rksaunders 1st to 3rd degree burns deal with skin, and from 4th to 6th is when muscle and bone are burned as well. I don't particularly know why up to 3rd degree burns are more commonly known, likely just what is more often taught. But I do take burns serious past 1st degree, mainly because I have burned myself more times than I can count, whether touching hot metal or accidentally lighting myself aflame with alcohol. I find 2nd degree burns to be more grueling than 3rd degree burns mainly due to the fact that many skin layers are burned with 2nd degrees but 3rd degrees often burn nerve endings eliminating large localizes pain. Doesn't mean 2nd degree burns are worse, you just feel more pain.
For story 2 she brought glitter mashed potatoes with craft glitter and a gelatin turkey everybody hated it she crashed out than OP and her cousin threw it all out. OP's dad brought backup ham. Dad clutched up
the story was ai, some commentors asked chat gpt for an aita story and got almost the exact same story, just different wording and names, exact same dishes and everything, op also said theyd post photos of the dinner and that was 15 days ago
The fact that they were right and the sister's dish WAS poison is insane (it had actual craft glitter; not edible glitter). The irony tho of Trevor saying she wasn't gonna blow up Thanksgiving... (spoilers: she made herself the center of attention purposefully to take away from op, yelled at everyone when they didn't like her food, and stormed out)
So I grew up in a house that was split financially. My brothers and I had a working class dad, while my stepsisters had a father who was a multimillionaire. The girls got yearly trips to Disney, cruises, Vegas, etc. Their dad would pay for them, my stepmom, and my dad to all go on these great trips. We would stay home. Meanwhile, our one vacation a year was camping with our dad’s side of the family for a week, which my sisters would ruin by complaining the whole time. They got brand new cars at 16, everything and anything they could have wanted. We wore donated clothes from a family friend and would be chastised for “eating us out of house and home”. He bought one of them a golf course to run, and the other got his business he had made his fortune from. Obviously I’m not saying that we should have been included, but it’s absolutely detrimental to a family unit when there are clearly second class citizens within its structure. To this day it has given me a deep and never ending hatred for the wealthy.
@@ichigostrawberryzoey Their dad wouldn’t go with them. He would just pay for the trips, and so when my dad and stepmom got together, their dad offered to include my dad in the trips. As for the second part of your question, I guess he didn’t see anything wrong with it.
46:27 I have a shocking speculation. I would bet you so much money that hubs would be singing a REALLY different tune if HER mom was the one walking in.
42:30 I grew up in a family full of these people. they can NOT handle being told they're wrong or weird for their behavior. they can't handle being told "I don't like this and you won't do it to me" but luckily I live a few hundred miles away now!
Shayne just always rubbing it in our faces that his family gets along and don't have drama 😂. No wonder bro is an intellectual who's good at everything
The leg story genuinely might be the funniest story they’ve ever read. between the absurdity of the story itself and their nonstop banger jokes and reactions i was on the floor 😭
For those wondering on the food story, here's the updated TLDR post Thanksgiving. Sister brought 3 dishes. Some kinda of ungodly oyster dish, smashed sweet potatoes with craft glitter (not edible glitter), and a ground turkey pressed/mixed with gelatin in a mold. It did not end well and the sister stormed out because the family's palette was "unimaginative". The dad and OP agreed next year is a restaurant.
It's such sibling energy though. If you tell your sibling don't bring a dish because no one eats it, it can totally backfire and they bring the craziest dishes they can come up with. Especially with sisters. 😄
It's been confirmed to be an AI story unfortunately. OP promised pics and never delivered. And several people gave ChatGPT prompts of varying vagueness and they all returned something very similar.
When I was born my mother and father were 18 and 19, they split not long after because they were children and that is what it is, but after that my mother found my step-father. My step-fathers parents were very well off and yet I grew up in a squalor like shack, and then my younger siblings were born, and suddenly there was money around to help their son. We took a family trip to Mexico and it wasn't until the flight story in this episode that I realized that my mother and I were in a different part of the plan from the rest of them, I was told they just couldn't get seats together despite booking months in advance, pretty sure we just got cheaper seats for the same reason I was only ever allowed to call them by their first names. Shayne is correct, that story is abuse.
The 1st story is so scary, especially if you've experienced first hand or 2nd hand violence in relationships, which fully includes emotional violence too, which a lot of people don't recognize..
Pouring one out for the ones who have their safety threatened or feel the need to flee when someone raises their voice...I stand with you and you all stand with me. Thank you. You are loved, valued, and worth it. ❤
Ooooooffff The experimental sister cook speaks to my soul. My sister also likes to "experiment" too, but thankfully it's usually with too much thyme and rosemary. When a recipe calls for a pinch of thyme she puts 3 tablespoons of rosemary in. Although it ruins the taste, it won't actually kill you. You dust off all the spices you can and muscle your way through. But blood has been spilt over the potatoe wars. 6/7 people want normal milk and butter potatoes, 1/7 people (sister) wants her cheesy abomination of potatoes that have the consistency of jello. The compromise we've made is she brings her own version of potatoes and we also make normal potatoes for the rest of us. She raises a stink about it every year while she dumps it on her family's plates saying everyone likes her version of potatoes better. The funny thing about this is her family never touches the cheesy potato custard and grabs the regular ones. And every year she gets bitter that the normie potatoes are gone and 90% of her's are left. And at the end when we divy up the rest of the leftovers we let her take all of her cheese potato goo home with her while receiving snarky comments about how we don't have any taste. It's the price we will pay to ensure we get the normie potatoes every year.
I'm imagining the mother in the fake key story just standing around like an NPC. Just standing at a random spot in the room and occasiomally doing her one scripted gesture
that lady should just divorce her husband if he legit thinks his mom is never wrong and his wife is always the problem. Just get the divorce over with and save same years of your lives. Entering someones home without their knowledge before hand is insane.
I think yall missed the biggest issue with the flight story. Not only does it create a division in care for both group of kids, but it's the fact that those young children would be alone in economy whilst the man's kids would be accompanied by two adults. There are creeps everywhere and there's no limit to what a person is capable of when given the chance. Even if all the kids were placed in economy, it would still be a huge risk as they're all alone in a small space with strangers. I'm so relieved that she broke it off with him. Putting two kids in a possibly dangerous situation should definitely be a dealbreaker for anyone.
I actually came to see if anyone had commented on her make-up. You think it's stunning? I think she is beautiful always ofcourse but this make-up she is wearing in this episode makes her look like a clown a little honestly... amazing looking woman when not wearing make-up. Her look today did not do her justice unfortunately.

I think this might be one of my favourite episodes so far. Arasha and Trevor’s dynamic is so cool to see - plus both of their insights with the stories is so grounded. Really loved this episode!
Story 1: good on op for standing up for herself. BF could have asked her to make something for his mom too. He hurt his mom not op. She sounds like she’s walking on eggshells to avoid the bf yelling at her etc. and bf is spending most of his time thinking about himself.
As a person who grew up in a small town with my dad’s parents living close by, that mother-in-law walking in situation is SO avoidable. Both sides had the option to go to each others house whenever they wanted, but they had to call or knock on the door first. Togetherness with boundaries for preparing a visit.

OH my GOD THEY’RE DOING THE PROSTHETIC LEG STORY. This is the boost of serotonin I needed today - this story is INSANE.
u know if this one have any updates??? i NEED to know how he got that leg XD
I commented... just before shane essentially said the same thing lol
That and 14 &10 is definitely too young to fly alone. Even if the parents are on the plane. That alone is wrong
They NEED to do the update to the sister's experimental thanksgiving menu. It's INSANE. Spoiler: the glitter she used was not edible glitter. It was just regular craft glitter

Thank you so much for writing this out. I have theory about the fish smell...I think the sister used fish sauce who knows in what quantity.
What the helll😭😭😂
Thank you for the update, so I didn’t have to go find it 😁😁
Thank you! This was insane to read
The fact the Arasha got no reaction to “he was taking it for a walk” and “he didn’t have a leg to stand on” is a crime
Was just about to comment that. For what it's worth, I literally burst out laughing and choked on my own saliva.
It's moments like this I wish Smosh and Order was still around.
When Trevor said the guy travelled with it I wondered if he crossed state lines with it! Would that count as trafficing?!

That juxtaposed by the 😼 energy Trevor has made what she said seem that much more emotionally mature too (and Trevor that much funnier)
YES! I always look forward to see her and Damiens points of view, Damien is very reasonable too
Arasha is 1 of my favorites to see on this series. Not because she's the funniest but because she's so intelligent and gives amazing insight

EXCELLENT work there, husband, excellent work 😂😂

52:09 You do not put two children alone in a separate class on a plane. So many things could have happened to them and he is disgusting
Right? The money aspect is messed up, but why is nobody talking about their safety?
i firmly believe that if you go into a serious relationship with someone that has kids (especially when you're already talking about marriage) you have to put in the effort to show the partner's kids that you atleast like and respect them. you don't have to be a father figure if they don't want you to be, since they already have one, but atleast put the effort in to build trust. i wonder how the 2 kids actually feel about the husband. i also can't imagine marrying a partner that clearly doesn't respect your (underage!!) kids enough to let them fly alone in economy class while you let your own kids fly in 1st class, with their own parent aswell!!
also 10 and 14 is way too young to let them fly alone in economy class. i honestly have no idea how he thought that was a good idea in the first place. and i also think OP is the asshole a bit for marrying that man; he HAS to have shown red flags before
edit: spelling mistakes, i'm sick and it's almost 11pm over here so sorry

The woman who's husband put only her kids in economy.... big kudos to that mom. If she would've let that slide it wouldve sent a message to her kids that they come second to their mom's partner and his kids. For his family to try to justify this and say she's raising her children to be entitled?! No, she's raising her children to feel secure in knowing their mom has their back and that they come first.

UPDATE ON THE THANKSGIVING STORY:
People are accusing OP of faking this story because apparently giving ChatGPT the prompt: "give me a reddit post as an update to a thanksgiving saga of OP who has a sister who always brings weirdly concocted dishes and promised a "trio experience" with glitter involved", hand delivers the same story as posted on reddit. People have also come to this conclusion because OP is not posting pictures
Atp the funniest response from OP would be the photos and just "I have a life outside of reddit, guys."
Doesn’t AI take existing data from the internet and generate based on that data? So if OP posted the update before people plugged the prompt into ChatGPT, it’s probably getting that info from OP’s post, right? I’m just a little skeptical.
@@Soaring_lizzard Yeah ChatGPT bases most of it's answers off reddit, sometimes the answer is entirely a reddit post

Why did I not realize Trevor had a boot??? Like I was watching this while wrapping a gift and I guess every time I looked it wasn’t panned out cause them mentioning it at the end of the video caught me so off guard
Me too! It wasn't until near the end of the vid that I noticed his foot up. I really wouldn't have noticed.
i literally only noticed bc of your comment and i'm not doing anything while watching🫠😭
I noticed it earlier but it still didn't compute with me right away until the very end, lol 😂
@@definitelynotathena LMAOOO
Apparently from the recent video he hurt his foot playing basketball 😢😢
Dad clutched up
Holy shit
Bless her heart
The story was fake. It was someone the comment found out you can get it from chatgpt
the story was ai, some commentors asked chat gpt for an aita story and got almost the exact same story, just different wording and names, exact same dishes and everything,
op also said theyd post photos of the dinner and that was 15 days ago
Whoever made tea on the front burner needs to at least apologize. If not help pay his medical bills.
6:04 Arasha's proud look while Trevor is speaking makes my heart melt. It's so affirming.
Wait, why was your dad invited to the vacations? Why didn't he stay home with you guys?
@@ichigostrawberryzoey Their dad wouldn’t go with them. He would just pay for the trips, and so when my dad and stepmom got together, their dad offered to include my dad in the trips. As for the second part of your question, I guess he didn’t see anything wrong with it.
everyone saying “she’s not hurting anyone” to the sister cooking fort thanksgiving is HILARIOUS in hindsight
Arasha is always LOCKED IN with the analysis, high key appreciate that
46:27 I have a shocking speculation.
He's the youngest among the way older siblings, too, so he is/was probably very doted on lol
I think significant age gaps between siblings helps for his family. less wrestling for family dynamics
The leg story genuinely might be the funniest story they’ve ever read. between the absurdity of the story itself and their nonstop banger jokes and reactions i was on the floor 😭
Arasha just casually speaking the biggest truth at 17:35, I so fully agree and relate to being upset and unforgiving over bad mashed potatoes XD
Hey, Arasha. I liked your "no leg to stand on"-joke that went unnoticed in the studio. 😅
No pancakes today. Listening to this, and the anxiety I have from last minute packing for a trip I leave in an hour for is all the nourishment I need
Have fun on your trip!! ❤
Hope you have a good trip👽
Hope you get pancakes on your trip!
have a great trip!!!!
You should still eat something.
The thanksgiving update for the sister story is actually insane and the mom is an enabler
It seems to be a fake story. The OP said she was gonna post pictures but never did. Also, the timeline doesn't really make sense
Don’t marry people who don’t have boundaries with their parents. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk ✨
@Just1Nora that's so sweet of you Nora, you're loved, respected and valued too
I always appreciate the deeply empathetic and nuanced takes Arasha delivers, even when talking about literal man babies. We stan a Considerate Queen
It's the price we will pay to ensure we get the normie potatoes every year.
arasha’s blush today is ON POINT
works well w the outfit fr
She is so beautiful!
Literally was thinking this, she looks like a cute little nectarine!!!
OMG that last story. I can't breathe. I kept thinking of Rocket Raccoon from GOTG and his weird fascination with prosthetic body parts.
Same! 😂😂
Shayne saying "they murdered Jesus" just as my toddler fell of the couch. Cut to me crying from laughing while trying to comfort my moody kid.
The prosthetic one just reminded me of the FRIENDS episode where Joey threw his date’s leg into the fire! 1:09:00 🤣
Putting two kids in a possibly dangerous situation should definitely be a dealbreaker for anyone.
yesss, was worried bc there was no community post
Me too!
I love Shayne reading Christmas stories for the kids
Arasha looks STUNNING in this episode. (You look stunning in every episode) The blush is just *chefs kiss* 🤌🏾💋
"Arasha did my blush" Lives rent free in my head 😊
I was literally coming to comment that lol
i was thinking the same thing
I actually came to see if anyone had commented on her make-up. You think it's stunning? I think she is beautiful always ofcourse but this make-up she is wearing in this episode makes her look like a clown a little honestly... amazing looking woman when not wearing make-up. Her look today did not do her justice unfortunately.
@nicolavos8032 she is literally glowing what are you talking about
I LOVE when Arasha is on reddit stories! She's so well spoken and articulate. She always tries to understand everyone involved and is so emotionally mature and intelligent! We 100% need Arasha to do a Ted Talk one day!❤
no WAY you read the thanksgiving story before the glitter mashed potatoes update.... i was so excited 😭
Arasha is one of my favorite Reddit Stories guests, I just love how much she engages with all of the stories!
Ditto! She is so adept at articulating the issues of posts and makes fantastic insightful points.
