Apparently you have to use a small screw eye because I tried it with a screw in hook (about 5/8" diameter) because it was handy and it wouldn't make a neat eye. Gonna pick up some small screw eyes next time at the hardware store.
Why would you use those screw eyes, and those screweyes that you made, those would be better to use because when you opened it up like that on the screw eyes you weaken that part up, so it doesn't make sense if you make your own screweyes so why would you use those from the stores

Why not cut-off each one made?... it would be easier to handle and saves on wire.

The ones he made don't have the gap, they are stronger and more secure for lure purposes.
