I was recently watching some of your older videos and I think it would be a cool idea for you to remake some of your older videos like the huge tiger trout jerk bait I think it would be a good way for us to see how you’ve progressed and what you do differently and also a way for people to see your older videos
Just wanna thank you for giving me such a great new hobbie, I am a recovering addict, I am 3 years sober and making baits has helped me to fill that void in my life I really thank you nate I love you like a brother and never met you!!! Thank you for giving me my happiness back! From Scott C. not Vickie lol God bless from Somerset K.Y
The angle at which it dives must be determined by drag forces in the water. There has to be the same amount of drag above and below the line, so the bait turns downward to put the lip perpendicular to the line. Also, I added subtitles to the missing audio section last video, check it out!
I enjoy the relationchip you have with your dog. You have such an even demeanor and are fairly calm. While Chip is a straight maniac with endless energy! One of the great TH-cam duos out there.
"Scientific Day" .... Maybe loop knot at the line tie, might give the lure more ability to get an action happening.. Great Test with the different degree bibs !!! Cheers from "Down Under" Stay Safe !!
pure science, so necessary here where snow falls through the sunshine before our very eyes. I love this kind of thing. I always carry an empty plastic shopping bag with me and a hook and lure on a long piece of line in my pocket any time I go past a good fishing spot and can't take all my gear along. I have caught blue gill on just a line tied to the dock, many times. Good show! Solar noon is the feeding time for cold water, they say. I am jealous of your crappie pond. Have not caught one yet. Have not fished the local lakes in warm water yet this year but I have a good feeling about it. Makes me happy to see you catch fish.
I honestly started watching TH-cam 5 years ago to learn how to build computers I watch a lot of tech TH-camrs but you are by far one of my favorite TH-cam personalities. I love fishing always have you are not only an inspiration but you're very entertaining. This is my favorite channel by far would love to see a lot more "one days" but I love the experimental videos as well you are definitely an artist keep it up man always love to see what you come up with thank you for entertaining me and everyone else please don't stop keep the videos coming.
Awesome as usual! I'm gonna vote for "test day!" Said in my best impression of you as your new catch phrase. It might make test day a cool thing instead of something out of childhood nightmares!
Glad to see more videos coming out! I remember how this went with normal crank-baits... I wonder if it could be official that bass like a bait that looks like a treble hook... Love your vids! Makes me laugh every time I watch them!
Watching these videos has inspired me to start making my own lures and baits, I just finished carving and sealed my first lip-less crank bait tonight. Paint and clear coat tomorrow. I can't wait to make and send one to you and have you review it. Stay tuned!
Great recovery from earlier disasters. I watched your last video from beginning to end and when that pristine lure went long I felt your pain. I think Chip might need therapy, maybe next time you go take him with you. You could make him your therapy dog and visit others needing kindness and understanding. ONE DAY! You know your my favorite lure maker.
@@fullermayes6435 if there was a way to prove it I would probably bet money on it I've seen it several times I fish for catfish all the time I throw my hate in a pond see all the time were I have put bate back that did not get eaten so I save it for the future
Commenting before watching and I'll edit after, I've always thought that a really shallow angle is good for small crankbaits, good for making the bait dive to the bottom and imo looks like a bait fish feeding Edit: well shit.
The "degree of the bill" is obviously relative to the "horizontal plane" (CL head to tail) of the lure. I don't know much about the specific degrees....looking at a crankbait: • long narrow lip = tighter wobble • wider or spoonbill shaped lip = wider wobble • the closer the lip is to the horizontal plane = deep diver • closer the lip is to the "vertical plane" ( or 90°) = shallow diver or wakebait. Full Disclosure: I've been up for about 20 hours...if If I sound like an idiot it's because I obviously am....
You can keep the laundry basket setup if you can just put some window screen or some other mesh on top; alternatively, drill into a plastic bin, keeping lid intact and attach pool noodles as per the laundry basket. Lid is easy to attach/detach and functions identically to the other pen you've made. Great video!
I really like this type of video where you isolate one feature of a bait and test them scientifically. Btw i admit I haven't seen one of your vids in like a year, but you have gotten so much more comfortable with the videos, they feel super fluid and not awkward at all. Not that you were before, im just saying the quality has gotten better over time
Nice to see the scientific method is alive and well. I wish more engineers would learn to limit changes to one variable at a time. Please keep experimenting
I love chip at the end! He’s pretty freaking awesome. Oh and thanks for the lip degree tip I was having issues with some micro cranks not having much action this will help I think
I really apreciate this experiment kind of video! I'm trying to make lures as a hobby, but mine don't usually have a good action. This helps a lot, thank you!! Cheers from Brazil.
Really good video, I’m making my first lure which just so happens to be micro and this helped me choose the correct angle, I’m really excited for the finished project!
You should do a video helping people who are just starting like weight placement, designing the bait, and things that will ruin a bait if not done perfectly that would be much appreciated haha :)
Hey bud been watching these for a wile on my Xbox. Never been able to comment on there. But I appreciate these videos man. There interesting. Been long since I fished. But I feeel like I wouldn’t be rusty watching you videos. Thanks man
Hey we use a piece of screen threaded through 2 bungee cords to cover the clothes basket “live well” at my uncles pond. I think it also has a coat hanger or tie wire threaded through the screen edges. Works fine
Great video man! I love using those Strike King bitsy minnow crankbaits for monster panfish. They're about the same size as the ones you made. Keep up the good work!
It will depend on on the tow point for your line attachment, I have lures with the tow attachment on the bib only and they are able to get down to over 40 feet. Worth looking at. ??

Crankbait pike video right?
My favorite, most relaxing, enjoyable thing to watch during our times of rough road
