- Demolition work has begun on an unauthorised spa building at the home of Captain Sir Tom Moore's daughter.
Hannah Ingram-Moore and her husband Colin lost an appeal in October against an order to remove the structure in Marston Moretaine, Bedfordshire.
Revised proposals for the building were submitted in February 2022 which Central Bedfordshire Council refused.
The spa itself was removed by crane from the building on Friday.
The building was named after Capt Sir Tom, who raised £38m for the NHS by walking laps of his garden during the Covid-19 lockdown in 2020.
After the army veteran died in February 2021, aged 100, his family set up a separate charity in his honour.
Initially planning permission was approved for a building within the grounds of the family home to host memorabilia and celebrate Capt Sir Tom's legacy.
Updated proposals submitted for the already partly constructed building included a spa pool, toilets and a kitchen, which a document called the design and access and heritage statement said was "for private use".

now find where all the money that was donated went
And this this will be the abiding memory of sir tom? A fantastic man, who's familly besmirched his honor😮😢😢
This is why I no longer donate to charities.
Well that's just silly.
Maybe don't get caught up in the crest of a wave, do some research and give to proper, established charities, instead of gimmicks like the Tom Moore foundation.
@@boreilly82to say that notion is "silly " is nothing but a toff comment, behave yourself please it was a perfectly acceptable passable comment
@@boreilly82how is it silly ???
Many charities “miss-spend “ or take ridiculous amounts of money first before the money gets to the intended recipients.
Oh and if you ask them they are going to tell you the truth 😮💨
In a time where people have little money how do you equate that someone is put off of giving their hard earned money away when there’s a good chance it doesn’t get there .
Charity shops are the same , they make a lot of money off of “free” donations by charging ridiculous amounts.
@@jesseb5076 Prove it. You say "many charities", so prove it.
@@boreilly82I’d never give any money to “charity”. The old saying “charity begins at home” is my philosophy in life.
Her poor father must be turning in his grave.
He was probably in on it.
What a total waste of money..🙄
Such a waste of building msterials.
My exact thoughts! So much of it was salvageable.
Rightly So .
Bet they thought they’d apply for retrospective planning permission as so many people do these days.
I want my £20 back donated from my army pension for the NHS
@@PerMarePerTerram777 100% in this case
When approached for an interview, Hannah ingram Moore was found to be rocking backwards and forwards whilst muttering the words "in hindsight" over and over again.
A fool and his money easily parted
All for a plush life at your expense. What a disgrace.
this women should go to prison poepe have given there money to a charity not for this women pocket money
Its why i trust no charity these days, especially big ones. I always supported the BHF due to familial issues with heart disease and my husband wanted to help out so volunteered at the local shop. It was supposed to be a regular gig, twice a week in his spare time but he lasted one day. Why you may ask? He was DISGUSTED by their money hungry attitudes, their overpricing of very worn items, the WAGES shop managers get, etc. When researched properly the money that the higher-ups get is eye wateringly disgusting. We haven't donated any items or money to them since and we now have a policy of local small charities only.
My husband walked past a British Heart Foundation shop last weekand noticed a pair of worn Nike trainers in the window....£30! A very used Cath Kidston bag, £70. The shop is always quiet with people preferring to visit the PDSA or local cancer charity shops just down the street instead.
This is unhinged.
That's the idea love. To make money for charity, do you want them to give stuff away for free ?
@@boreilly82you are unhinged , why do you comment on any comment that has a different opinion by being rude ….. is that not unhinged
I bet the old fella is rolling in his grave right now, look at how his daughter has disgraced his name. Greedy, selfish lady.
Only 2nd to post office scam..jail em
'We will get through it in the end, it might take time, but at the end of the day we shall all be OK again'.
Shame so that's where The money went too, greedy people, don't deserve the spa.😂😂😂
Where's the voice of age concern over the 35,000 deaths in care homes? Where the voice of the NSPCC over child grape? Where's the voice of the RSPCA over halal slaughter? Where is the Voice of the British heart foundation over excess deaths? Give them nothing! Support local independent charities!
Take it easy on the pipe, its doing you no good.

Just wait for the new Planning Application for a Religious Temple to be submitted - Shameless
I would just leave it there , all the rubble.
What the council done in my opinion was wrong surely an alternative decision could and should have been made.
He would be spinning in his grave if he knew what his eldest daughter was up to.
A man who was honest to the days. How could she produce somebody that was so self centered greedy?
And didn't care that she walked All over his name.
She thought that money was for her to live the good life.
Gave no thought to her the father It all about mi me including her husband and he is just as frigging greedy too
What do they need a jacuzzi for? That duck pond looks much more fun, free admission for pensioners though
Makes you weep, eh?
When charity greed takes over for funding their lifestyle . These people give other charities a bad name
The shame of it all
Was the elephant from Charles? 😮
They're building another immigrant hotel instead
When anyone asks me for a charity donation I always ask how much is the CEO being paid?
I have stopped giving money to charities
But you give to NHS yes? lol

I was a little surprised when I saw this on the news this evening, But having read some of these comments, I am more shocked by people’s attitude than I am by the situation before me.
All I will say is,, Please Please take a breath and think things through. This wonderful man did more for our Country, than anyone ever has, starting with World War 2 and sadly ending with the NHS..
Anyone who has seen how Charities work, knows that this family, would not have even seen the monies raised, everything either passes through a None For Profit bank account, or is transferred straight to the Charities via Solicitors.
I am more gutted to see and hear people’s reactions to this wonderful Man, who did so much for all the Charities including the armed forces etc…. Please Please don’t trash His name, just honour everything that He did for so many people who were suffering right around the World… I salute You Sir Captain Tom Moore 🙏❤🙏❤🙏❤🙏
It's not trashing his name. Its trashing his daughter and husband as they filtered money to themselves and paid themselves thousands after forming a dodgy company that was supposedly administrating the charity. They took all of the money from sales of books and tried to claim income wasn't anything to do with her Father or charity. Even though he wrote the books to sell for the charity. Best read the whole case and where its at. Geot the full facts as they actually are and may differ slightly from my ramblings. The Daughter and Hubby should be charged with fraud. The building was supposed to be a Sauna for Veterans so say. But basically it was money laundering cash into bricks and morter that family would benefit from.
Can't build on your own property without some fkin council's say so. This country is so far beyond a joke it makes me sick
So we just let anyone build whenever and wherever they want? I don't think so. 😕
Well some families do...we have one wherever live...been told they have to take their electric gates down...3 times...nope still there...but they are a special sort of family if you know what l mean...even put in a prayer room...found out today ...you pay less council tax if you have a prayer room....
@@carolineridlington5010 'This is not correct, they wouldn’t be exempt from council tax. Places of worship for all religions can be exempt from business rates, but only if they’re officially recognised as such. The principal use of the site has to be worship.'
This sort of stuff is really easy to look up, if you actually want to know the truth.
How old are you? The UK has had building and planning regulations for decades, perhaps centuries.
