It’s sad that such a good story turned into lies and greed
Robert Fidler, who built a £1 million castle on his own land and "cheekily" concealed it from view, has been forced to demolish it amid a planning row. He was forced to knock down the mock-Tudor mansion after losing a hard-fought legal battle in 2015. No one knew it was there until he removed the hay after misreading and misunderstanding the law and assumed the statue of limitation had expired for illegally building it. They both should have hired a good solicitor beforehand.

I've seen far worse buildings get planning permission. One's that make you think how on earth did that get approved? They should have just gone through the process and would have avoided all this.

If this is true and the building was illegal I would feel ashamed on behalf of Captain Tom. I didn't get the impression he would condone illegal activity. Its not a way to commemorate him

Captain Tom Moore raised a million pounds in a few days by walking around his garden. This was during covid lock down, and so could only go in his garden, but he wanted to help raise money some how. Bare in mind, he was 100+ at the time, I believe. But once he died, the charity foundation set up in his name was run by his daughter, who embezzled (stole) money from the charity fund and built this spa with the stolen funds, which was also illegally built too. Hence, why it is being knocked down.

I still don't understand all the negative reports about this Lady. In my opinion she has not commited any serious offence to warrant the harassment from the press and the public.
My reason is very simple and straightforward, she bullying and harassment is because Captain Tom had died. If he was alive she would have done all she did with his permission. Her only mistake in my opinion is not proposing and documenting her ideas when Tom was around. In fact not putting her request to Tom in writing. I am sure Tom himself would have loved his children and grandchildren to benefit from his service and rewards. People benefit from books written about them and their family benefit as well. She has not stolen any public money. People awarding billions of contracts to their friends and sharing proceeds are there The vultures (press)will pretend after their palms have been greased Its like people don't think on their own anymore, anything the press push out is believed.
A charity foundation is a PUBLIC TRUST. It has to separate from personal/business finance of the executor, which is her and her husband. The issue here is, she first defrauding the planning and zoning committee by saying this annex (a spa/pool really) was a organisational structure added to their home, which also served as the office of execution of the charity. The thing is, this is not a commercial or even charitable use of land, which mean first it would have defrauded the land tax (Because you don't pay land tax if you build for charity) second, it would have committed a perjury offence by lying on a zoning application. Both are punishable by fine and possibly jail time.
The second thing is they are using this spa/pool for private usage, which does not go with the charity clause. But that was on a grey area because you can build a pool and still hold business meeting on the pool and claim it was an office. But the fact that they had shut down the foundation and bar the two of them from holding any trustee role would suggest at least some degree of culpability

I understand your points, however my view is entirely on the person of Captain Tom and his family. The donations were made to a trust he probably nominated, fine, the people donated hence not wise to use for personal / family spending.. However, Tom and his family ought to be entitled to a % of the book sales, which I also think was committed to the trust.
In my opinion, she did not know the implications, she and her family made mistakes not separating the family private account from the trust. She could have registered a company for the book sales and donate % to the trust rather than directly. Thinking the trust is theirs as family members is a error of judgement. Hopefully they are wiser now.

..Should have been allowed to keep it for the loss of their dad to the nation everyone wanted their dad as a national treasure even the Queen so the family should have got compensated would you like to loose your dad to total strangers think about that ..
They CHOSE to make their dad a "cash cow" so don't deserve any special allowances - quite the opposite considering their exploitation of elderly relative
